Well, you've read the notes, the notes happened, and now it is time for you to post until the happening cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: HAIMISH!
-
Caress soap. There’s a name I hadn’t heard in a long time.
-
It had cocoa butter in it, as I recall.
-
“Caress, before you dress.”
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Nothing happened here overnight. Worth reporting about.
-
Guess what happened next?
-
Good morning, all.
-
Playing bells this morning. Need to stir.
-
Good morning, all!
-
A week from today it will be an hour earlier.
-
As for today, I'm hoping for a quiet one.
-
Yesterday turned out to be more angst-ridden than I cared for..
-
My friend surrogate son Jason arrived around noon to help me witrh some computer concerns. All went well until we got to the new cable adaptors for my LaCie external hard drives.Nothing worked, and Jason in frustration announced that we needed an Apple expert's advice. He left, and I decided to listen to the 1971 Los Angeles production of Candide before I fed the cats.
-
We got to the Act One "Pilgrim's Procession," only to discover the track was missing. Because of the LaCie adaptor issue, I could not go in search of the original download and recover the missing track, and that led to my decision to put the LaCies into storage until the adaptor issue could be confronted
-
So . . . I had to get on the floor to unplug the LaCies, and I soon found myself battling a gordian knot of cables and cords. Because my mobility is limited, it was impossible to accomplish much. I did, however, manage to unplug either the router or modem and my wfi shut down. So, I sat on the floor in a tangle of cords and wires, unable to decipher what in the mess was the plug for the router and modem. Just before panic took over, I decided to call Ann and Jen to see if by any chance they were home and willing to help me out.
-
They were. Ann was sick, and Jen said she'd be down shortly to help me out. Thirty minutes later, she arrived, unplugged everything under the computer table, sorted all wires and cords, handed me the cords for the three LaCie hard drives, and plugged everything back in. The wi-fi snapped back into action, the router and modem re-booted, ad I was back in commission.
-
In fifteen minutes Jen had cleaned up a mess I had been avoiding for a year. I am very grateful.
-
And that's my tale.
-
And that's my tale.
And, thankfully, your skin isn't pale and your eye isn't odd.
-
That I know of.
-
Glad it got sorted out, DR elmore3003.
-
This is called "White Christmas Cheesecake."
-
I do not have any.
-
But I am dreaming of a White Christmas.
-
Or a white pony.
-
Is this what Barbara Cook was singing about as Marian?
-
Good morning, all.
-
One more.

Here we are in the rain…which started late last night in a desperate bid to get in under the wire. It was a close call, but it was just in time for us to say we got rain on the seventh (I think) consecutive Saturday.
-
DR Elmore, I don’t know anything about the LaCie drives except that they’re the brand Apple likes to push. I’ve been using - oh, what in the HELL are they? - I think a couple are Seagate and a larger one is Western Digital. And as it happens, I have to call Apple about the latter because - GUESS WHAT HAPPENED? - the MacBook isn’t reading it. It’s the one I want to use as a new backup drive.
-
Good morning!

Wordle: 4/6

Sunday morning greetings! Yesterday I packed my cookbooks and recipe box. Guess I’ll be winging it in the kitchen for the next few weeks…
-
Sorry to be so scarce around here lately. I do peek in regularly and wish you all the very best. After this move is accomplished, I promise to be much more conversant.

Happy Sunday! On this week's Broadway Radio Show, I am joined by 3-time Tony Award winner Alex Lacamoire! (he's also got 4 Grammys, 2 Oliviers & 1 Emmy!) Alex chats about his role as Music Supervisor for the current Broadway revival of Sweeney Todd starring Josh Groban and Annaleigh Ashford as well as the new cast recording which Alex produced. It's a great conversation with lots of songs from the show!

SAFE TRAVEL VIBES FOR DR VIXMON & VIXDAD!
-
Our kind waitress offered us coffee for the road
That was very nice of her.
-
Break time is over.
-
I need to change my clothes before we walk over the restaurant for dinner.
-
It is only a five minute walk since we are taking the scenic walk, three minutes if we took the shortcut.
-
Wait, they are slow walkers. It will take a few minutes longer ;D

Guess what happened next?
-
Another winter
-
The renters go home
-
The maple goes
-
From crimson to brown
-
Oh, God
-
My God
-
Another winter in a summer town.
-
PAGE FOUR!
-
Guess what happened next...
-
The beaches empty
-
They cover the pools
-
The patio umbrellas come down
-
Oh, God
-
My God
-
Another winter in a summer town.
-
One little leaf
-
Adrift in the breeze
-
Refuses to fall from the sky
-
Blown by the wind
-
It clings to the trees
-
Unwilling to wither and die.
-
The summer's over
-
But I'm still a girl
-
Cavorting in my carnival crown
-
From blossom to blossom
-
I buzz like a bee
-
Then glance in a mirror
-
And who do I see?
-
A middle-aged woman
-
Inhabiting me
-
Because it's winter
-
In a summer town.
-
Yesterday's dreams are faded
-
Bouquets (only a rose)
-
Roses that died on the vine
-
(Just a memory divine)
-
Yesterday seems more real
-
PAGE FIVE!
-
Guess what happened next?
-
Than today (of love, when sweet)
-
It's difficult drawing the line
-
(Youth was mine)
-
My season ended
-
A long time ago
-
But no one took
-
The party tent down (alone now)
-
The pink paper lanterns
-
Still twinkle in place
-
My young Navy hero,
-
His tender embrace
-
That sapphire blue ocean,
-
Oh, how can I face
-
Another winter
-
In a summer town?
-
Oh, God
-
Oh, God
-
My God

It looks like the beginning of a video that would not be unwelcome in Larry's VCR. ;)
I wouldn't know about such things. ;)
Okay, I'll repost it now...

Good night, friends.
-
I packed for the trip next Friday.
-
And I finished laundry.
-
And I am tired.
-
But it’s not quite bedtime.
-
Not quite.
-
The temperature here has dropped from the 80s to the 50s.
-
May I just state here and for the record that the New Jersey Turnpike to the Verrazano Bridge qualifies as a portal to hell
-
Especially in the dark while it’s drizzling
-
I drove from Maryland to home.
-
Glad you’re home safe, Vixmom.
-
Thank you!
-
Welcome home, Vixmom!
-
This 23.7 mile portion of the trip took over 3 hours to complete.
-
This 161.7 portion of the trip took approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes
-
The last 50 miles took about 90 minutes
-
Yesterday it took me 7 hours to drive this 500 mile route
-
Sounds about right.
-
Good night, all.
-
Wow! Sounds like quite the road adventure, Vixmom!

If anyone likes The Rocky Horror (Picture) Show and attractive performers performing in their underwear, you might enjoy The Skivvies' (https://www.theskivviesnyc.com/) latest concert version of:
The Skivvies x Rocky Horror Show (https://www.youtube.com/live/h5wiGwvY4bc?si=_D6pwWPDx_PyNteU)!

It was just performed and streamed live on YouTube on October 29th at Joe's Pub (https://www.youtube.com/@joespubnyc)! It's a lot of fun. ;)

So a friend of mine found (somewhere) two copies of DVD promoting group sales to Disney's The Lion King.

Here are the two unopened copies:

Anyway, he gave me one and it arrived yesterday!

So, let's sing the opening number, "Circle of Life (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbTWgFDwaAE)"...

From the day we arrive on the planet
-
And, blinking, step into the sun
-
There's more to see than can ever be seen
-
More to do than can ever be done
-
There's far too much to take in here
-
More to find than can ever be found
-
But the sun rolling high
-
Through the sapphire sky
-
Keeps great and small on the endless round
-
It's the circle of life
-
And it moves us all
-
Through despair and hope
-
Through faith and love
-
'Til we find our place
-
On the path unwinding
-
In the circle

The circle of life

New notes are up.

Up are new notes.

I've seen them.

I've read them.

I wrote them.

And now they can be read.

What?

Did someone say something?

Is there gaslighting going on?
