Well, you've read the notes, the notes had two run-throughs, and now it is time for you to post until the two run-through cows come home.

TOD: it would have to be the opening night performance of Follies on Broadway: April 4, 1971.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Congratulations, George, on your milestone.

Happy Monday vibes to all who observe.
-
Good morning, all!
-
It was too chilly this morning, and I did not want to leave my bed. The cats seemed happier cuddling with me for warmth than pestering me for breakfast.
-
Now that I'm up, the cats have had breakfast, and I'm having my coffee, I have no idea what I am doing with my day. I may play with my paper shredder; I have much to shred.
-
DR JohnG, your Niagara photos were a flashback to my family's trip there around 1954 or so. The memories are vague, and I mostly remember the boat, Maid of the Mist, and the water spray from the falls.

Good morning, all.

I had the heat too low here, too. Between being conscious of having to keep warm, and continually waking up every hour which seemed to be because of the time change, I feel like I just had a marathon-long night … but without feeling rested.
-
Thank GAWD I have today to catch up on a couple of things, including some relaxation.
-
DR Singdaw, I once played Timothy the janitor in Help! Help! The Globolinks, Menotti's acoustic vs dread electronic music opera. I'm very fond of the score. There's a wonderful DVD of the original German production. Arlene Saunders, who plays the music teacher Miss Euterpova, was an American singer whom I saw play Rosalinda in Fledermaus at the Cincinnati Zoo. William Workman, who plays the school bus driver, was a very handsome American baritone who had a great career in Germany. Edith Mathis, who plays the schoolgirl Emily, is one of my favorite German sopranos.
And, to carry the Globolink coincidences further, the premiere redording on CD is coducted by my friend John DeMain. weho conducted the Housto Grand Opera production of Babes in Toyland in 1991!
-
Thanks for that information, DR elmore3003!
-
Great pictures, DR John G.!
I have a good childhood memory of Niagara, too, from when I would have been 8 or 9. (Oddly, the year of that particular family trip is subject to some controversy.) It was a magical place for me.

My jacket is from the Michael Strahan Collection - if you are looking for a suit or jacket I would highly recommend this brand.
The fit is fantastic and they feel great!

Very nice. And what wonderful neighbors.

I just took an hour to straighten up all the papers on my desk.
Okay, I admit it, I was looking for something. And did I find it there? No, and I didn't really expect to. But it was the place to begin the search.
More of this later! An entire corner of my room needs the same treatment, if you must know. And it's High Time it got done.

Miracle vibes for BK and Co.
-
I was at Niagra Falls twice, once as a child of 7 or 8 with my parents and little brother who was about 3. The baby stayed with my aunt and uncle whom we were visiting in Rochester.
-
The second time was when I was 19 and on a church trip to a Youth Convention in Buffalo.
-
I found it beautiful and awe inspiring both times
-
Recalling that second trip reminds me of a story
-
The time I was frisked by, and my bag searched by the Secret Service charged with protecting then VP Gerald Ford
-
Someone had planned a reception of some sort for said VP in the very same hotel in which a Lutheran Youth Convention was taking place.
-
This would
have been Spring 1974 I guess
-
Oh so I was 17 not 19
-
In any event there were protests going on outside the hotel
-
I still remember the chant " Jail Nixon! Jail Ford! Jail the rich and free the poor!"
-
The protesters were dressed remarkably like we convention attendees, being the 1970's
-
Mostly jeans and workboots and denim shirts and hair bandannas
-
On Saturday evening (as I recall), there were about 100 protesters outside, a couple of hundred convention attendees inside and fancy schmancy political types in all their finery arriving in limos for the political thing
-
My friend Steven and I were trying to go downstairs to meet our group for dinner but the elevators were filled with rambunctious teenagers riding up and down and being silly
-
Afraid of getting trouble for being late we decided to take the stairs
-
Only somehow we ended up in the service stairs
-
And walked out into the ballroom filled with tuxedos and gowned folks
-
Realizing our error we tried to retreat, but the door locked behind us
-
But we didn't have long to consider our next move because we were suddenly surrounded by tall men with earpieces and no sense of humor
-
We were put up against the wall, thoroughly frisked and our bags gone through
-
Both of us were carrying our study Bibles, ID badges and various convention giveaway stuff so we were given a stern talking to and escorted through and out of the ballroom by men on either side. firmly holding us by the arms.
-
We were late for meeting the group, but being delivered to the Pastor by Secret Service Agents seemed to override any concerns about tardiness.
-
I never did get so much as a glimpse of Ford.
-
Well lunch is over...back to work!
-
The Fat Orange Baboon threw a fit in court before lunch break. Something just now happened with the judge that no one can explain on MSNBC.
-
We have never parked in our garage

You seem to have interesting experiences that make great stories.

Darn their lack of humor.

I'm up, I'm up - about nine hours of sleep.
-
Took my allergy pill at midnight - but this is THE worst allergy season ever. It's half-working and half not.
-
This morning my brother Mike called. It has been six weeks since his knee replacement surgery.
He asked if I would drive him and wife Faith to the grocery store in his car. And while she did the shopping, he could practice driving around the nearly empty end of the shopping center parking lot.
-
He did very well. We drove around for 20 minutes or so and then stopped and parked.
Two young women came out of a nearby PetSmart store. It was very windy. One of the young ladies dropped something and it blew across the parking lot.....probably the length of a football field and into the street.
She finally retrieved it and brought it back to her car. I said: "Nice catch! What is that?"
She waved the bag around and said: "Thanks. It's crickets for my lizards."
-
Half sweet and half acid.

We have never parked in our garage
For a little while, I used my garage for my car when I first moved in to my condo, then it became storage until the beginning of this year when my mom got my garage door and opener fixed (but not replaced) as an early birthday present. After I put all my stuff in a new storage unit, I've been parking my car in it since then.

Congrats to DR JEANNE & DR GEORGE on their new millstones.

Not too often, but I get out there (it's less than a couple of miles away from where I live) a few times a year.

Good Evening - it's been a long day. Grades are due in the morning and I'm waiting on a few things to be turned in. We'll see what happens. If it's not turned in, it didn't happen! Off to White Christmas where we have run throughs all week, which is great. Things are coming along. I have costumes! That is a feat in itself, trying to find a jacket to put on these shoulders! But we are almost there!

Wow, grades already.

I watched the first episode of Kenneth Branaugh’s new series on Boris Johnson. At times he looks like the real BJ. The giveaway is that his hair is much better controlled. E1 goes into the early days of COVID from the perspective of the British government.
