Well, you've read the notes, the notes were anniversary notes, and now it is time for you to post until the anniversary cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: AUDACIOUS!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And very happy ANNIVERSARY WISHES to HHW and to us all! Thank you, BK, for making it possible.
-
~~~CONTINUED SHOW VIBES OF EVERY SORT~~~ for BK and the Company of 70, GIRLS, 70!!!!
-
Did I miss it - did DR elmore3003 update us on his visit to City Center?
-
Hope the kitties are OK...
-
Good morning, all!
-
And Happy Anniversary, BK! Thank you for hosting this tremendous, continuing party. I came to the party nineteen years ago, thanks to Liz Callaway, who told me our favorite record producer had begun a website. Like Grand Hotel, people come and people go, some unwillingly. I've made friends all over the world from this ongoing party, and I've lost a few. I still mourn the passing of DR TCB, and I miss the daily early morning presence of DR Ben, the travels of DR JoseSPiano, the Grade-Z actor obsessions of MBarnum, and DR Charles Pogue. I particularly miss our PennyO.
-
On the other hand, I'm very happy to have extended the invitation to come to the ball to DRs JohnG and Ginny.
-
So, this morning I've got Access-a-Ride carting me around from urologist to bank and to Staples.
-
DR Singdaw, I did not say much about my Monday City Center jaunt. Joshie and I talked our way through the Act One finale, "Song of Love," which I'm working on here, and the Act Two "Happily Ever After." I return on Monday and we will plan our Thanksgiving week while Joshie isa with family in Vermont.
-
Hope the kitties are OK...
They seem to be. Thatch spent much of the night with me until Stella drove him away to take his place and cuddle with me. She bullies him and it pisses me off. He remains a true gentleman, unlike his daddy, and seems to tolerate her. Annabelle is the only one to control Stella.
-
Last night, I watched a so-so romcom, The Perfect Wedding. A friend from my Drama Book Shop days, James Rebhorn, played the young man's father, suffering early stages of Alzheimers. The last time I saw him he was in the Lincoln Center Theatre production of Dinner at Eight. After the movie, I checked him out on IMDB. He sadly died in 2014 at the age of 66.
-
Thanks for the updates, DR elmore3003.
-
This year, give your turkey tan lines.
-
Everyone's doing it.
A gracious good Thursday morning to all of you. And a Happy Anniversary to BK and all of us. It is incredible to believe it has been 22 years!!!
I returned to Johnston at 4 p.m. yesterday afternoon. Tired, but very happy and pleased to have spent the previous two days at the beach with my cousins.
We talked and talked and talked and walked on the beach and talked and talked and ate delicious meals while we talked and talked.
i don't believe I have ever been in a "chattier" situation. My cousin Rick can talk more than anyone I have ever known. His wife, Susan, is his equal in that in all respects. During my first day, I began wondering if I would ever have a moment of silence to myself to read anything on my iPhone in Facebook. I admit I was overwhelmed by it all, but I adjusted, and that is the the key thing.
I had breakfast two days in a row...a thing that hasn't happened in a long, long time. I had grits with cheddar cheese, bacon, two eggs and toast, all absolutely wonderful. Our meals were at local restaurants, and breakfast was at the Litchfield Restaurant. The breakfast menu was astonishing.
We talked during the half hour or so after we ordered, all during the meal and for another hour at the table after we ate. Honestly, I couldn't understand why we tarried so long when we could have talked in the car or back at the condo.
We even talked while we walked. I believe in putting one foot in front of another and getting to where I am going, but for whatever reason, we would take a couple of steps and one of my cousins would stop, turn to look at one of us and start talking while we just stood there....even in the middle of a busy parking lot. I had to move us along a few times, but we all stayed out of harm's way.
Did I mention that we talked a bit?
This house is so QUIET! I hardly know how to behave.
-
I am glad I went. It was wonderful to be somewhere different from...or "other" than... here.
-
Did I miss all of y'all.
Well, yes...kind of...with so much talk it was hard to reflect on anything that was more normal for me.
I did scan Facebook on occasion, posted a couple of pictures, but really couldn't concentrate on anything. I did Wordle yesterday, I think...don't remember if I did it Tuesday or not.
Discombobulation is truly "a thing"...and can be good in small amounts.
-
This year, give your turkey tan lines.
Just..."No!"
-
It's time for coffee, but I must tell you that we drank coffee all through each morning and again at breakfast.
Haven't been that caffeinated in many, many years. And it may have been why we were all so talkative.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Happy anniversary, HHW! What a joy to be a part of the family!
-
Thank you, Elmore, for the invite.
Happy Anniversary to HHW and MR BK!
I love being here everyday and reading about everyone's adventures.
Here's to us! etc etc etc.
I think I first came here in 2004.....there have been a lot of changes...and it has been FUN for the entire ride.
Eye vibes for DR JEANNE.
I am like DR JOHN G - I like to watch Broadway and Tony clips.
I also like to watch videos from local theeders and high schools.....sometimes.
My favorite are probably dance videos from the 60's and 70's.
Good morning, all.
-
And a very happy anniversary to HHW!
-
I've been here since early 2012, so, 11 1/2 years for moi.
-
So, basically, I've been here through the second half of HHW's history.
-
On a different note, I think this production of 70 GIRLS 70 is going to be the death of me yet.
Oh wait. Wait a minute.
I'm not even involved!
Whew.
But reading about it has certainly been an adventure!
Best wishes and vibes for a great preview tonight!
I accomplished my errands after I canceled my Access-a-Ride trips. The shitty car service was more than 30 minutes late, and I knew I could not make my appointment, so I canceled it, then canceled AAR. I stood in the street on 82nd Street, praing a taxi would come by. A young man stepped out of 206 West 82nd Street, and I asked him if he would mind, when he got to Broadway, hailing a cab for me.
-
He did, and the taxi delivered me to my bank at 79th Street and Broadway. I accomplished my banking, then walked a block to Staples, where I faxed my Medicaid documents. I am now home, and happy to be here.
DR Jane: I have to admit a chuckled a bit while writing about my trip. Truth to tell, there were moments when I wondered if my cousin Rick would ever shut up.
He can remark upon anything and everything and never seems to reach an end to what he will say. He is a retired (recently) dentist and spent his life talking to and with his patients.
I asked him once if he could understand things his patients said to him while he had his hands in their mouths and he said he could. Conversations were had.
My local post office will not be closed tomorrow, which is a federal holiday because Saturday is Veterans Day. It will close on Saturday, however, giving postal employees two full days (Sunday included). I know that federal offices will be closed tomorrow.
Two messages from the leading lady asking me to "strategize" how she'll get through tonight (and presumably the entire weekend), with her sprained ankle - she's been told not to put weight on it. I'm so tired of compromising everything on this show, from day one right up to now. Last night was so embarrassing for me - it's my name on this show - and no one, including you dear readers, really know what's been going on. It's worse than middle school. This could have been so great and it's so not great and I'm out of patience and I'm out of ideas how to further compromise my work. I should be fixing things prior to the show, but now I have to deal with someone who'll be hobbling around the stage in a VERY physical role added to just trying to get the lines out. Believe me, the story will be told but not until later.
Thursday afternoon greetings. If you’re wondering why I’ll be even scarcer early next week, we’ll be with extended family celebrating the life of our sister-in-law Edna. Even though she and Richard’s older brother were divorced shortly after we were married, she remained very much a part of our family. We are heartbroken:
Note to self: If you ever direct "70 Girls, 70" or any show with folks "of a certain age", make sure your lead roles have competent understudies who can take over at a moment' notice -- preferably alternating leading ladies/gents so they don't buckle under during actual performances.
-
That's not a dig, Bruce...just a note to remember if I am ever in a similar situation. I know I will probably need an understudy if I ever get a lead role again. I have good days and bad days, I've seen 'em all but I'm here.
My personal 22nd anniversary is in six days.
-
On November 15th Bruce commented in the notes.
-
"Oh, how I loved Susan Gordon, she was so cute and perky. And, of course, she was/is the daughter of Food of The Gods’ very own director Bert I. Gordon. I wonder where she is today and what she’s doing. If anyone knows, have her call me."
-
And I posted the answer to his question.
-
I then contacted Susan and she gave me permisson to pass her information on to Bruce.
-
If it was still light out I would go for an after dinner walk. Alas, it is dark and cold out there.
-
Hello,everyone.
-
Condolences To DR Ginny on the loss of her s-in-l and friend.
How are you feeling, Jeanne?
Hello, DR Jeanne. How are you coping?
Hello,everyone.
~~~COPING VIBES~~~ for BK
-
My laser eye procedure went as well as these things go. He zapped me far more times than in the previous one (different surgeon), though. It left me with a nasty headache, which still has not gone away. I told him about the recent blurring and that the office said I couldn’t have it checked out until February. He wasn’t happy with that either, and told one of the admin people to schedule me next week. Funny, they had an opening next Thursday. So I’m now booked. I still don’t know why they’d refused to reschedule me.
-
I'm glad you are booked for next week instead of in February.
-
Headache begone vibes, and all other eye issues, for DR Jeanne!
-
Long wait getting home. Because I have transportation benefits as part of my insurance I must book through Motivecare, who then contacts Lyft. The communication between the two doesn’t seem to be great. But it would cost me $40 or more if I schedule directly. I think there.s sometimes a shortage of drivers, too. Anyway, I’m home and glad this is behind me.
-
Headache begone vibes, and all other eye issues, for DR Jeanne!
Thanks.
-
Hello, John G. Hello, sing. Hello, Jane.

Where were you….?
-
Long wait getting home.
Sleep well tonight.

It is also the anniversary of the 1965 Northeast blackout.

An Improbable Peck of Plays V.
Starring Tiler Peck?
-
We can get to seven.
-
Without too much effort.
-
But beyond that...
-
I certainly can't say.
-
Perhaps we can ask the blue bird of happiness.
-
And I don't mean Twitter.
-
Or "X."
-
Or whatever it is.
-
One more.
-
Welcome to PAGE SEVEN.
-
Brought to you by Lanford Wilson.
-
What's really going on beneath the surface.
-
Good night, friends.

That would be cool, but no...everyone is local. It'd cost too much to fly her in, put her up, and pay her...well...anything.

Where were you….?
So funny I had no idea this was the anniversary! I just brought it up with WFO tonight.
-
I was, with my little brothers, watching the Jerry Mahoney Club while my mother was cooking a pork loin.
-
The electric oven shut down of course and we could smell the delicious pork while we had peanut butter sandwiches by candlelight
-
Sending Ginny and Richard prayers and vibes of comfort
-
I’m must get some sleep
-
WFO will not be able to attend the brunch and musical on Saturday as he has sadly come down with pneumonia
-
He is getting excellent care at home and is responding well to treatment.
-
But vibes are always welcome
-
Abd my first HHW meet was at PennyO and Jose's performance of Jewish Thighs on Broadway
I was there!
-
Gadzooks! I can’t believe the cloud still hangs o’er 70 Girls. Hoping it’s just one of those shows where none of this is apparent by the time it opens.
-
Vibes to Ginny and Richard!
-
Vibes to the great WFO!
-
I apparently showed up here in Feb of 2005.
-
I came as a fan of The Creature Wasn’t Nice. Wrote BK on some other website, he wrote me back. Then I found this place and so many of my interests dovetailed here with so many great people who I then met in real life.
-
Then I was E&T for a spell…
-
Then I slipped this place back on and it fit like comfy jammies.
-
That was back in late January.
-
22 years of HHW. Wow.
-
Let’s get off this 7th page.
-
Eighth Page of our 22nd Anniversary Dance!

I drove all the way up to North Bend, Washington to see Penny's show! It was great! And I got her autograph on my poster.
-
I still have that downstairs (I think).
-
Then I slipped this place back on and it fit like comfy jammies.
And we're glad you're back. :)

That's great, BK!
-
Tonight's final dress rehearsal of An Improbable Peck of Plays V went quite well tonight.
-
We had maybe seven or eight people in the audience.
-
There were two or three plays in the second act that they really liked and laughed during...quite appropriately, fortunately. ;)
-
Tomorrow night, we open!
-
Gratuitous Post #222!!
-
I don't know how many tickets have been sold, but we'll play to whoever shows up.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
