Well, you've read the notes, the notes included six tiny fish sticks and were upside down, and now it is time for you to post until the upside down cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PALATABLE!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
Topic of the Day: I used to eat frozen fishsticks (after they were cooked, of course), and frozen TV dinners like Salisbury steaks (which were my favorite). I also liked frozen pizzas and ice cream. I'm sure there's a lot more I'm not thinking of.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Another uncomfortable night of sleep, somewhat alleviated by the fact that I turned on the AC around 5:00 and turned it off just before bed. Stella leaped on and off the bed several times, Thatch didn't show up until a 4:30 bathroom break, and Annabelle stayed with me all night.
-
Today is a City Center day, so I am hoping that Access-a-Ride behaves.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Love the shirt, DR George.

Sorry to say, I'd never heard of Anjanette Comer before. But now I have!

Great shirt, George.

The only frozen food stuffs I remember my mom buying were waffles and occasionally for very special occasions, Sara Lee layer cake
-
Oh and orange juice used to come frozen and concentrated and you had to add water

Anyway the day is getting away from me so Wordle and work

I don’t remember too many prepared frozen foods as a child. Mom put up a lot of foods we grew or picked, like strawberries.
I do remember loving chicken pot pie, not beef. And I remember hating a Salisbury steak frozen dinner. It smelled like canned dog food.

Tummy vibes for Elmore.

Mom apparently just wants to sleep. My sister Linda thinks it’s because she doesn’t want people to see her.

Modern Major Miracle Vibes for MR BK.
-
After reading the posts from DR singdaw & DR JEANNE - I have decided to change the names of the parakeets from Elvis & Priscilla to Nick & Nora.
They have taken to their new names and I am sure will display different and more exciting personalities as the days go by.
They do not sleep lying down.....they are perched on their perches, usually side by side.
I am thinking that they are conditioned to go to sleep when the lights in the pet store were turned off.....so when it is dark, they get sleepy.
-
I enjoyed DR RON PULLIAM's music clip last night.

Good morning, all.

Had to go out early to pick up my car from the car place. They had it for a day, changing the oil, replacing the wiper blades, and checking a couple of things.
-
Tummy vibes for Elmore.
Yes!!
-
We've got two beautiful days here. I'd better not waste them.
I need to run out for a few things, then probably do some more leaf blowing.
A leaf blower's work, you see, is never done. Not around here, at any rate.

From DR Ron:
Anent DR George's tale of the miscreant fountain pen:
Am I the only dear reader who feared his tale would reveal he was afflicted with a major ink stain on his shirt pocket?
I also feared he would have a major ink stain on his shirt pocket and was surprised he never mentioned one.
-
From Ron:
Instead, his nibs were ruined. Or was his nibs ruined? Or does anyone ever use his nibs in a sentence any longer?
:D
-
DR Jeanne, I solved the mystery. I found only Our Wonderful Years on IMDB. Just now I Googled Our Miracle Years and found it is known by both names.
The German title seems to be Unsere Wunderbaren Jahre which does translate to Our Wonderful Years. I wonder where miracle came from.
-
DR George you were very lucky to see Gregory Hines in person at the special event.
-
DR Vixmom you definately had news, and very good news it was. I'm glad to hear DR WFO is recovering nicely.
-
DR Vixmom, I hope you continue to receive the excellent price on your life sustaining drug.
-
From DR George:
My dad's nickname for me was Keoki.
Until reading that I simply thought the keychain was great, an now I have tears in my eyes.
-
I also like the turtle keychain.
-
The necklace is very nice and the color is pretty.
-
Of course, the shirt is perfect for you.
-
George, I do hope you will share a photo of you wearing the shirt and necklace.
-
Mom apparently just wants to sleep. My sister Linda thinks it’s because she doesn’t want people to see her.
Does she look bad? If so I can understand her wanting to heal a bit before being seen.
-
I've been lying down most of the day. Stella and Thatch have been keeping me company.
-
Sounds nice, Elmore. I can do that a day or two next week.
-
Three!
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep.

I know. It definitely was an incredible event. :)

From DR George:

I think he picked up the name when my parents went there on their honeymoon...which was probably five years after they were married.

That actually sounds good...except for the mushrooms.

I never use the gentle cycle because I just don't think about it, but I do have shirts that should be washed in the gentle cycle, so I'll get a load going when I have time.

First time washing it you might want to do it separately, in case it bleeds. Don't forget to use cold water.
-
I'm not sure how I feel about "The Gobbler".
-
Two episodes GHOSTS UK are on CBS at 9 p.m. EDST. I may give them a look.
-
We had fish sticks now and then when I was growing up.
But TV Dinners were for rich people.
-
I do not understand insurance.....as DR VIXMOM wrote.
I had a copay on both of my prescriptions at CVS. Once they betrayed themselves as the horse's asses they are - I switched to WALGREENS.
With the same insurance, doctors, and medication....NO CHARGE on either prescription.
-
Piano Bar Pickup.
That is the title of the second volume of my memoirs.
-
I loved the pictures in the review....and the message: Go See It!
-
DR CHAS SMITH - they only had your car for one day?
This does not compute.
-
Page Four.
-
I waved at my Smart Car as I drove by yesterday.

Hmmm, could just be that you reached your detuctable and the price went down. You will find out at the beginning of the year.

LOL. They still have it :o
-
At first tv dinners were a novelty, not that we had them very often. I can't recall any of them being horrible or exceptionally good.
-
I think I preferred Banquet to Swanson's.
-
My favorite frozen dinner was a chicken pot pie.
-
But then that isn't exactly a tv dinner ;)

Well, tonight's performance of An Improbable Peckbof Plays is going well.
-
We only have 15 people (plus one director, so 16 total), but they're enjoying it.
-
One funny (to me and the stage manager) mistake tonight happened in the first play in the second act.
-
It's a formerly married couple meeting at a McDonald's so that the daughter can go back to her mom's house after spending the weekend at her dad's.
-
The daughter speaks only in emojis, but sends the mom a text...and then speaks the very eloquent message to the audience as the parents are reading it on the mom's phone.
-
HOWEVER, the actress playing the mom forgot her prop phone! ;D
-
She covered it by pretending that her phone was still in her purse and she held it open so that the husband could see it in there!
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Nice haul, George. The shirt is quite lovely. Would like to see you wearing the shirt and necklace.
-
Good night, all.
-
I thought prescription co-pays were decided by the insurance companies. But the whole insurance world is so complicated! Perhaps pharmacies have a certain amount of discretion.
-
I like your cake, John G. So the “errors” were intentional. Not just a uneducated baker.
-
Good night, John.

Ah, the parakeets formerly known as Elvis and Priscilla have changed their identities and are now sophisticates. Does this require a change of wardrobe? Different music preferences? Different food and beverage? Changes to their cage? Inquiring minds wish to know.

Jane, the photo PBS is using for Our Miracle Years is rather misleading. I had the impression it was a romance and light-hearted. It’s a fine drama, but definitely a drama, and not light-hearted. Romance is involved, but it’s dark. FYI.
-
I had a good report from the ophthalmologist today. He feels a lot of my problems are due to dry eyes and again recommended the punctual plugs. I’ll stick with drops for now. Gala to get the good report.
-
Feel better vibes to Larry!
-
Recuperation vibes to WFO.
-
Good night. 🌙
-
Good eye news, Jeanne!
-
Loved the review! Though I had to chuckle at the reviewer calling it “iconic” then later saying they’d never heard of it.
-
TOD: we had fish sticks often as kids. But my fave was the Swanson frozen meal with fried chicken, corn, mashed potatoes, and a cherry cobbler.
-
Page FIVE???
-
Been a strange day.
-
And that includes page five.
-
Let’s just push on…
-
Page six???
-
Really?
-
Why I oughta...
-
BK in the house. Page 6 is too!
-
Listening to more John Williams.
-
And I don't care who knows it.
-
I found a John Williams LP yesterday called Pops in Space.
-
Features songs from Superman, Star Wars and Close Encounters.
-
Nice score for Presumed Innocent. The Expanded release, which is, I believe, a whopping three minutes longer than the original release, but it has twenty-six tracks instead of the fourteen - that's because the fourteen combined cues, which was pretty standard practice in making a nice soundtrack listen.
-
I think I prefer the original's sound.
-
Can't go wrong with those three films.
-
Or their scores.
-
Hopefully, George will show up at some point.
-
Also The Empire Strikes Back.
-
Otherwise, he WILL be held responsible.
-
It was Williams’ first lp as leader of the Boston Pops after taking over from Mr. Arthur Fiedler.
-
I have many, many favorite Williams scores - I can't tell you how many times I've listened to The Reivers. And I like some of his early frothy scores like Bachelor Flat. The Cowboys is also excellent.
-
But my all-time favorite as a listening experience is The Accidental Tourist.
-
I also like 1941 a lot - not the movie, but the music is great.
-
ET and Close Encounters are always great to hear.
-
Also just listened to Monsignor, which is very good. And The Fury.
-
I don't much care for Memoirs of a Geisha, but do love A.I.
-
It also was the first Pops to come out on Philips instead of RCA.
-
The Reivers is good music.
-
Let's see what other scores from his earlier years that I'm fond of. Jane Eyre, Heidi - both great. Cinderella Liberty, Jaws, Family Plot, and then we have Dracula and Black Sunday, all the Star Wars films, but the best of them are the first two. And that's barely scratching the surface of his 166 credits.
-
An amazing career and still at it. And a GREAT pianist who played on most of Henry Mancini's early classic scores.
-
He probably has more soundtrack album releases than anyone.
-
With the Boston Pops he was good but not as good as Arthur Fiedler.
-
Yes, Cinderella Liberty is a fave!
-
Is there gaslighting going on???
-
See?
-
Now Fiedler was iconic.
-
Not that Williams isn’t, but I could identify Fiedler when I was 5 years old.
-
His image was well-used by the RCA visual machinery. And PBS.
-
“Always” is a good tear-jerking soundtrack.
-
How about when Williams conducted the Sherman Bros’ 1973 Tom Sawyer soundtrack? I have an unopened copy of that LP.
-
Nice haul, George. The shirt is quite lovely. Would like to see you wearing the shirt and necklace.
Thanks, Jeanne!
-
I'll take a picture pretty soonly.
-

-
Hopefully, George will show up at some point.
I've arrived.
-
How about when Williams conducted the Sherman Bros’ 1973 Tom Sawyer soundtrack? I have an unopened copy of that LP.
That's pretty cool.
-
I wonder if John Williams the composer and John Williams the guitarist (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Williams_(guitarist)) ever worked together, or if the guitarist ever at least recorded any of the composer's music.
-
That would be fun.
-
And another couple of same-named persons are Vanessa Williams, the singer, actress, former Miss America; and the actress also named Vanessa Williams (https://m.imdb.com/name/nm0004539/).
-
And Bill Macy and William H. Macy, as well.
-
And...
-
...now...
-
...that we're so close, let's push on to the...
-
Gratuitous Post #200!! ;D
-
;)
-
But, we're almost to Page Eight.
-
We need to mush on so that we get there before BK locks the page.
-
I do not care for page seven.
-
It needed to be said.
-
Which would not be a good thing.
-
And it was said.
-
It needed to be said.
It has been said often.
-
Exactly. Mush on. We've got a good thing going.
-
PAGE EIGHT DANCE!!
-
I am a big, fat tub of lard.
-
Must do something about that sometime soon.
-
Exactly. Mush on. We've got a good thing going.
A Sondheim reference!
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
Whew!
