Well, you've read the notes, the notes complained, and now it is time for you to post until the complaining cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CONGENIAL!
-
Sorry to disillusion anyone, but "The Trouble With Harry" is in my top five Hitchcock favorites. I love it for its quirkiness...the script, the execution of the story, the acting and the fantastic Herrmann score.
I cannot explain its appeal to me other than to say I probably love it because it is so very unexpected as a Hitchcock film. And the fact that it IS a Hitchcock film may be why I love it so much.
The other four are "Rebecca", "Rear Window", "Vertigo" and "North By Northwest". That doesn't mean I love any of the others way less...just that those are my favorites to watch.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I go plenty of rest last night. Boy, howdy!
Slept like a log and dreamed!
My last dream was the oddest one in a while.
I was at a family gathering with my mother. Lots of young people around, too, but I was my present age. I interacted with several people until everyone rushed out of doors. When I went outside, I couldn't find anyone. I walked around the house and saw, in the distance, a lot of the young folks hiking up a very high hill. Off to the side on a large patio sat my mother with young mothers sitting around with youngsters in tow.
The odd thing about that high hill is that someone was at the top on a large piece of equipment and began going down the hill, clearing everything in its path and leaving a dark, earthen trail behind.
The young ones who had reached the top all had plastic sleds and began sliding down the hill along that earthen trail at very high rates of speed.
When I walked over to my Mom, she looked a bit put out. I asked her what was wrong, and she said she had expected my Aunt Doris (her sister) to be there but she hadn't shown. Mom indicated she was ready to go.
I gently reminded her that Aunt Doris had died two years ago this month, and my Mom looked surprised and then said, "Oh, that's right. I always imagine her as being alive."
I didn't have the heart to tell Mom that she, herself, had died five years ago.
It's one of those dreams where I imagine my Mom to be alive. I am always surprised to have those dreams, but I suppose I always will.

The alarm rang at 6:00, I got up dressed, then lay down to pet Annabelle. When I woke, it was 6:50.

I did not sleep well last night. Too many pains.

I did not sleep well last night. Too many pains.
I am sorry about this, Larry. Everyone deserves good sleep.

I am sorry about this, Larry. Everyone deserves good sleep.
Thanks! I spend too much time trying to get comfortable. Of course, three cats climbing over me doesn't help!

This is one elegant pussycat! I think she's stunning.
-
She is, indeed!!
-
Time for some coffee and the news.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
DR John G., glad you didn't have a mishap with your car.
-
Glad you had a good first day of work, DR Rodzinski.
-
This is one elegant pussycat! I think she's stunning.
Love it.

-
Good morning, all.
-
Another weird night of weird sleep and weird dreams.
In the second of the two dreams I remember, I was setting up some kind of application on the iPad to control some aspect of music playing, and was about to demonstrate it to someone. Thinking about it now, I realize it was like the multitude of dreams I used to have, in which Excel spreadsheets were the controlling thing for some aspect of real life stuff.
The verdict is in. My weird dreams are all just: weird.
-
Good morning
-
I remember no dreams
-
But it’s late and I must Wordle and work
-
I now have all the music for the two school concerts I’m playing in December. It’s nothing terribly difficult, and today I’m going to get those completely into my fingers. The first of those concerts (the easier one) is a week from today.

What do you call a snowman with a six-pack?
The abdominal snowman!

Slept well. But also weird dreams.
In one, I was back working for the now-retired former boss at the paper. We were on a trip to some food-related destination. Everyone kept saying how fun everything was. But nothing was happening, and what eventually did happen was boring. But I was supposed to write something about it while my former boss was being her usual lazy self.
-
Can’t remember the others.
-
Two!
-
I feel the same way MR BK does about the Facebook Idiots....and the idiots that feed their delusion.
-
Condolences for DR RODZINSKI.
-
And on another subject:
Congratulations to DR RODZINSKI.
-
I finally finished the tidy-up: vacuuming, making the bed, and taking the trash to the basement; it only rook two hours, but hte place looks pretty good. Tomorrow morning, the laundry.
-
Thank you DR George.
-
I had a wonderful evening. They even served me a plate, with a thin tall lit candle, of their fresh made ricotta donuts. YUM.
-
There were five donuts, plenty for sharing. They also came with warm homemade caramel sauce.
-
I can't count how many times I have seen Two for the Road, and do not recall "hamburger pills".
-
From DR Ron:
When Hepburn and Finney are traveling, they stay over at a hotel but don't eat there because they can't afford it. He goes out and brings back a bag of food. Hepburn rhapsodizes over it and says, "Hamburger pills". Turns out, their meals were included in the price of the room!
Thank you. I well remember the scene, just not the "Hamburger pills" comment. Thank you.
-
I tend to sleep the day away after a colonoscopy. Rest is very good after having all those polyps remeoved.
-
From DR Rodzinski:
Hello! The opposite of John G, I started my new job today. Everyone was nice in the welcoming editorial meeting. Should be good.
I am pleased to know your first day whent well.
-
DR Rodzinski, I am sorry for your sad news.
-
I'm up, I'm up - around seven hours of sleep. In a bit, I'll go over to CVS and get my 30% discount back - amusingly, I had an email this morning saying "use your thirty percent" from CVS.
-
Pizza reviews is just a minor offshoot of Dave Portnoy's ultimate grift which is his sports culture site that appeals to misogynists and frat bros, and it is from that brand where he made his millions, as gambling companies don't have as much oversight when it comes to where their ads appear. When ESPN decided to take big gambling money, the company who'd bought Barstool Sports got the hell out of the Portnoy business entirely.
-
Thank you Jane and JRand, vixmom and singdaw and all you kind folks for your words o' kinditude.

We did get a bit of s**w this morning.....a dusting as it were. But it is now all gone.
-
There were five donuts, plenty for sharing. They also came with warm homemade caramel sauce.
That sounds so good!
-
Three more bags of trash from The Closet are now gone....most of them were VHS tapes....
I no longer have the technology to view them.....nor the inclination to do so.
-
Mrs. Rodz is out of town on biz, so it is just me and the younglings for the next couple days.
-
What do you call a snowman with a six-pack?
The abdominal snowman!
My thought was a snowy Bud Lite man.

I can't count how many times I have seen Two for the Road, and do not recall "hamburger pills".
Finney: "Must be some food shop in that village. I'm too worried about you to dream about eating anything myself. I'll tell you what. I'll slip down to the chemist and get you some... Guess.
Hepburn: Hamburger Pills!
Finney: That's right! Hamburger pills!

From Bruce:
What do you think about all these monetized YouTube channels where amateurs become celebrities making millions doing absurd things they actually have no expertise in?
I think you did an excellent job expressing my thoughts on the subject.
-
We are having some cold temps tonight. Low 20s are being predicted.
We have been having lows mostly in the 40s, thus far, so...Brrrrrrrrr.

I've never heard of a cranberry pie, but it sounds pretty good.
-
I think a cranberry apple pie might be nice.
-
I love dried cranberries in my apple cinnamon oatmeal.

Good afternoon.

I have nothing to report, except that we have to replace our sewer line. There's a huge shrub in the way where they'll have to dig. I guess I know why it is such a huge shrub.

Wacky Noodles all gone and it was a pretty good batch.

Did a bit of writing and also prepping for the two new CD releases.

No. Let me see.

$50 a ticket, plus $10 for valet. Plus drinks.

Debating.
-
And starting a favorite odd Christmas movie called Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang with Robert Downey Jr. and Val Kilmer, not as Moses but as Gay Parry.

I hope that isn't as expensive as it sounds, funny though about the shrub.

I don't know about Portnoy's Complaint, but I imagine BK is going to have a complaint.

Is there an echo in here?
-
Well, at least we got past 100.
-
Barely.
-
Quantity.
-
Not quality.
-
Both would be nice.

But we'll take what we can get.

Slim pickins.

I've always liked my pickins on the slim side.

Don't you?

A whole page of me, me, me.

Through the snow banks desperately.

Through the rain damply.

Through the fire smokily.

Through the sermon turgidly.

Through the reeds wanly.

At PAGE FIVE.

Which isn't any great shakes.

But it's better than three.

Fish sticks on five.

Starting the original Freaky Friday. Barbara Harris is perfection.

;D
-
It will probably be about 45 minutes of programming spread over 3 hours with pledge breaks.
-
As PBS is wont to do.
-
Wont not, I always say.
-
And have said.
-
The Roches sing a song called "Want Not."
-
But I think that's about anti-materialism.
-
Anyone springing for the new Sound of Music soundtrack?
Not the vinyl/CD combo version for $100+, but maybe just the CD itself.
-
Which is not to be confused with anti-matter.
-
Someone collects nutcrackers.

Wow!

Very sensible, DR George.

I didn't want to use my upstairs, anyway.

Starting the original Freaky Friday. Barbara Harris is perfection.

Agreed!

Well, I think I've inflicted enough of me on the populace.

Good night, friends.

Well, this is interesting:
‘This Is Spinal Tap' Mockumentary Sequel to Feature Paul McCartney, Elton John, Garth Brooks (https://www.msn.com/en-us/entertainment/news/this-is-spinal-tap-mockumentary-sequel-to-feature-paul-mccartney-elton-john-garth-brooks/ar-AA1kFmC0?OCID=ansmsnnews11)
-
Is This Is Spinal Tap really the kind of movie that should have a sequel? :-\
-
When there's an easy way, sequels happen. Spinal Tap is now how old?
-
Just starting the new notes so perhaps George will stick around.
-
If he doesn't stick around, he WILL be held responsible.
-
When there's an easy way, sequels happen. Spinal Tap is now how old?
Next year it'll be 40!

It was released the same year I graduated from high school! :o

Has anyone seen the YouTube videos of Drew Talbert (https://www.youtube.com/@DrewTalbert)?
-
His vids are about a restaurant and their waitstaff, and a few of the customers. SPOO! I mean "guests (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4oXl-zrbAfw)." ;)
-
He's a pretty good actor. All the characters and their voices are quite distinct from each other.
-
Not thinking a Spinal Tap sequel is a good idea.
-
I would like a The Creature Wasn’t Nice sequel though.
-
Is there an easy way for that?
-
Let’s flip this thing…
-
Here we are.
SEVEN-itude.
-
THIS Drew Talbert video (https://www.youtube.com/shorts/j1C8XTmvHhM) features a couple of his regular "guests."
-
And this guy, Scubeskitchen (https://www.youtube.com/@scubeskitchen), has some pretty funny restaurant vids, also.
-
He does a series of "Things you hear in restaurants you wish were made up." Here's one example:

Here’s a video about Lyle Talbot.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3cqQhRENGjY&pp=ygULbHlsZSB0YWxib3Q%3D
-
Lyle was father to Gilbert from Leave it to Beaver. Who knew?
-
Beaver was of course in The Trouble With Harry, a film recently viewed by HHW denizens.
-
Jerry Mathers had a better time working with Hitchcock than did Billy Mumy who had a negative experience on AH Presents.
-
I think Jane might get a kick out of this one:
