Good morning, friends.
-
And heathens.
-
I have nothing of note to add at this time.
-
:)
-
Time may be a great healer, but it's also a lousy beautician.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I'm up way too early, thanks to a rehearsal at a (fortunately) nearby high school.
-
Sounds like yesterday's matinee was really wonderful. Wish I'd been there!
-
Sleep vibes for BK!
-
Goode morning, all!
-
The alarm rang at 6:00. I dressed and went back to bed. Annabelle and Thatch curled up with me. At 6:50 I woke, got out of bed, and finished dressing. We've all had breakfast, and it's time to get to work.
-
First thing, turn off the damned radiator. It's way too warm in this dump.
-
Good morning
-
I have no news,I just woke up and am sitting in the recliner having my morning decaf
-
So I’ll Wordle and get on with the day
-
Oh, just remembered there are clothes in the dryer that need folding

I've been looking into travel to Indiana University, which means getting to Indianapolis, where the School of Music will send a car for me. According to Expedia, I can get a round trip flight for $311 (2.5 hr flight) and Amatrak can get me there in 22.5 hrs at $171 round trip, only there are issues with stairs.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I wish I had been at the matinee too. Sounds wonderful.
-
Don’t they have assistance for the train?
-
Train or plane?
The eternal question.
-
I am so happy for MR BK & Co for their wonderful matinee.....and I am happy that DR JEANNE was there to view it!
-
We added an additional seat to our ladies' room a few years ago, and it certainly made intermissions go faster - and shortened the line considerably.
-
IU is another hour or more from Indy DR ELMORE.....so I hope they send you a nice car.
I would have thought they would also spring for your ticket!

-
AND now for the miracle of the day - almost like MR BK's envelope.
My new tires have arrived and they will be put on the SMART CAR today and I can bring it home!
It will be very nice to have it in the driveway again!

I actually have a friend who teaches Pilates! I'll have to send this to her!

EVERY theater/theatre/theeder needs to do this!
-
The Washington Center for the Performing Arts totally remodeled their whole lobby and seating, but didn't update any restrooms. HOPEFULLY, that'll happen sooner rather than later!

Great news, Jrand!

From DR Singdaw:
Foodstuffs (including chocolate cake and ice cream) were consumed.
Yum.

They will take care of transportation and accommodation. I'm just trying to figure out the logistics for a cripple on a walker.
-
DR Jeanne I think I would enjoy Royal Flying Doctors Service. I'll see if Keith is interested.
-
From Bruce:
I ended up watching the show - standing - because every seat in the theater was filled plus extras in the front.
That's great.
-
From Bruce:
It was really the sharpest the show has been. Very little fumfering in act one, which shaved four minutes off the run time of that act.
Congratulations.
-
DR George do you have a loud dishwasher? I find it hard to imagine it being too late to run it.
-

Ditto.

I'm up, I'm up - nine-and-a-half hours of sleep - would have been ten but for the idiot neighbors who, for the first time this year, decided to have conversation somewhere near the bedroom window - these people talk loudly. And, of course, two minutes after I get up - they're done.
-
DR George do you have a loud dishwasher? I find it hard to imagine it being too late to run it.
It's kind of loud, and even though I'm upstairs on my 3rd floor, it's up against the neighbor's wall, so I think it would be more noticeable to them than me. ::)
-
Boy, I guess DR Ginny and I are the only east coast denizens these days until DR Iris returns.

Jen just arrived with my Mega Millions ($377,000,000) and Power Ball ($412,000,000) tix for tonight and tomorrow. She or Ann picks them up, I pay, and we split the win!
Oh, God, could I use a win.

Back to The Cobweb. Great Gloria Grahame and Lillian Gish. Mediocre script.

The wonderful Sheila Smith has died. I loved her in Taking My Turn. She was also great singing the song Chicago in Sugar.
-
Here’s a great story from the Playbill article on her death:
In a particularly memorable chain of events, Follies director Hal Prince asked her to simultaneously stand by for Jane Russell as Joanne in Company during the run of Follies. One evening, after stepping in for Yvonne DeCarlo to perform as Carlotta, Ms. Smith found herself shuttled between the two theatres, finishing the song "I'm Still Here" and then quickly changing costumes to immediately step in for Ms. Russell to sing "The Ladies Who Lunch" in the second act of Company. She is, as far as is known, the only actress to appear on Broadway in two different Sondheim musicals in the same evening.
-
That's a great story, DR John G.
-
Good smart car news from DR Jrand73.

Well, this is pretty cool:
New Old-Fashioned No. 1: Brenda Lee’s ‘Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree’ Tops Hot 100, 65 Years After Its Release (https://www.billboard.com/lists/brenda-lee-rockin-around-the-christmas-tree-number-one-hot-100/streams-airplay-sales/)
Lee leads for the first time since 1960, with only the third holiday No. 1 in the chart's history
-
And this Twitter video was filmed when she was told:

I don't think you need Twitter (X) to view the video. The link should open up in a web browser.

One hour into Oppenheimer. It’s really good, but a definite Christopher Nolan movie.
-
Happy anniversary indeed. 815 shows - pretty amazing!
-
Decided to try two cheese enchiladas and rice for food. It seems okay right now and I won't eat anything else other than some soda crackers.

I agree it was good but I was still bored so we never finished watching it.

Cheese enchiladas seem a bit heavy to me. If they were fine you are definately improving.

After a four days, we returned to the gym today and tested the new equipment. We are not happy campers, Keith is more upset with his new crosstrainer than I am with the new treadmill.
-
I am lucky I didn't check email at the gym as there was sad news waiting for me.
-
We didn't go for an afternoon walk as our current mattress pick-up time is slotted for 2:00-6:00. We are still waiting for their arrival.
-
On the day the mattress was delivered they gave us a heads-up with a closer time frame. So far today we have not heard from them.
-
FOUR!
-
One hour into Oppenheimer. It’s really good, but a definite Christopher Nolan movie.

I am finding it fascinating. Great Emily Blunt and Robert Downey Jr.
-
Keith also liked it. I told him I was fine watching the entire series but he stopped.
-
Our sleep number mattress is now gone. They came, they were efficient, and quickly left :)
-
Our new mattress should arrive tomorrow morning.
-
They said between 8:00 & 12:00. I'll have to get up early so I am dressed before 8:00.

I watched the IMAX version in an IMAX movie theater. I couldn't get bored even if I would've otherwise been bored with the movie. ;)

And the beginning is wonderful.
-
Good night, friends.
-
It’s going to be a thriller, but how hasn’t been revealed yet.
-
Isabelle Huppert and Jacqueline Bissett star.

Why are we still on four?

-
Good night
-
Well, tomorrow morning, I have a dental appointment.
-
Fortunately it's just a cleaning, so it shouldn't take too long or be too bad.
-
I always drive through some place for lunch right after because why not?
-
;)
-
But my appointment got moved to earlier in the morning (9:00 a.m., instead of 11:00 a.m.), so if it's over early enough, I can get breakfast items.
-
McDonald's and Burger King and Taco Bell are in the vicinity.
-
They all have breakfast items.
-
If I wanted to go a little further, there's also a Wendy's, a Sonic and a Del Taco.
-
I don't think I've had any of their breakfast items.
-
Breakfast After the Dentist. The new movie.
-
Did I mention lots of rain?
-
Because it’s been buckets since about 2:30 pm.
-
Because it’s been buckets since about 2:30 pm.

Buckets of moonbeams in my hand.
You got all the love, honey-baby I can stand.
-
SICKS!!
-
Not just rain but heavy rain.
-
Or Hard Rain to quote a different Bob Dylan track.
-
Neighbor asked me to see if a package had come, as they are out of town. The delivery person was kind enough to leave it right out in the rain instead of walking up three steps to put it under an awning. Uncool.
-
Mrs R is down in Portland till tomorrow night.

Finding this page six malarkey disheartening. But, it is what it is.

New notes are up.
-
Just me n the young’uns here.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
Not just rain but heavy rain.
It's not as heavy here now as it was just about a half hour ago.
-
I wrote them.

Post 160.
