Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of the year that was part two, and now it is time for you to post until the part two cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: EMPATHY!
-
Notes caught. Released.
-
Ditty boom.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept way too late this morning. It may have been to make up for the little sleep I got the night before. I snuggled into the blankets and vThatch curled up next to me.
-
Today I must work on "Yesterday I Loved You," which is one of my favorite numbers from Mattress.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Sorry, DR Ron Pulliam. I didn't mean to intentionally steal your handiwork.
-
Hark, how the bell[pepper]s...
-
Sorry, DR Ron Pulliam. I didn't mean to intentionally steal your handiwork.
I thought it was a coinkydink… nothing more. :)
-
BK, I am glad that you don't have any performance-like events going on while you have custody of Sophie, allergy-wise.
-
I gots to get ready for work.
-
Good morning
-
I slept!
-
About to leave for work but a quick Wordle, maybe?

I must learn a couple more upcoming concert songs, and get some holiday chores done today.

This evening, my semi-regular dinner meeting with my director. We need to figure out whether we’re proposing a show for next year, and what it will be. There’s a slot open at one theeder in particular which is waiting to hear from us, and they’ll be wanting to announce soon.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I’m so tardy! I didn’t report on Waitress! It was good, and I’ll definitely watch it again when it’s released to home video.
I’ve never seen the original movie, so I must make a point of ketchuping with that sometime. I liked the production and Sara Bareilles and the others just fine.
I’ll just offer up my standard complaint that there are FAR TOO FEW times that we get to see the stage as it looked to, you know, the damned audience. It’s BK’s geography thing. Granted, the camera work is excellent in this, otherwise. But there are long stretches when we’re swimming in close-ups and medium shots, and I so long for a breath of air that’s longer than the occasional split second views of the entire stage.
-
And I do mean split second.
What in the HELL are these video directors so afraid of?
-
I love the original movie. Just a charmer. And there’s pie.
-
Not wanting to stir.
-
But I need yo find out if it rained overnight. It was supposed to.
-
I put in some new plants gor the winter yesterday.
-
I added two types of leaf cabbages, arugula, ornamental kale and pansies, all of which like it cooler.
-
Two!
-
Congrats to DR FREDDIE on his millstone.
-
I enjoyed the notes today.
-
The sun is shining here today.
-
It is Wednesday here in Johnston SC.
Encapsulation continues....
Sigh.

The second half of The Book of Charlie is getting good. Very interesting look back at life in the last century.
-
It’s drizzling. Plants are perky. Roses, bougainvillea, plumbago are blooming. Very spring-like for December.
-
The new plants seem happy too.
-
Trying to clean up while watching more Riverdale.
-
Sorry, DR Ron Pulliam. I didn't mean to intentionally steal your handiwork.
LOL, a fine turn of phrase!
-
Thanks, George, for pictorially capturing my millstone, and to Jane, singdaw and Jrand for the well wishes!
-
Spellcheck seems to want to change Jrand into Grand - maybe it knows something!
-
Fascinating stories in the notes today!
-
Good morning, good day, how are you this beautiful day? Hope everyone is doing well. Enjoyed BK's notes - especially about Sophie's "Sets of business" as I LOD'd because when I was a kid, that's exactly what I called them! Other than that... that's it for now.
-
Trying to clean up while watching more Riverdale.
Rocky Fairmeade, eh? Very good one!!
-
Spellcheck seems to want to change Jrand into Grand - maybe it knows something!
LOL. My spellcheck stopped working. I would like to have it back.
-
DR Ron I was very sad reading about Dickens.
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep. Dog has been walked. Here's how it goes with this uber neurotic girl - she'll pee in the yard here. I want her to poop there, too - easy cleanup that way, but she will NOT do it. So, we go for a walk and she will not do it on the front lawn or anywhere else UNTIL we got to the exact spot where she pooped yesterday, which was down at the corner - and I mean the exact spot. Crazy.
-
She's had her first meal o' the day and is off the couch but slept there all night and I'm sure will soon be back there.

I just discovered this BBC documentary on Bernstein's Candide. What's exciting is it begins with footage from the original 1958 London production. I didn't thin any of that existed.

Thanks for that link, DR elmore3003.

Wow, seriously.

Bruce, I am confused. Who is Skye?

Probably the reason that you just discovered this, Larry, could be that it was just posted yesterday!
-
I'll definitely be watching this, too! Thanks for posting it here!

Whenever I empty a container of foodstuffs, I clean, scrape, and rinse it and set it in the sink with water before I put it in the dishwasher.
This morning my container of chicken salad and my container of tomatoes were in the sink with water.
But I do not remember eating the last of the chicken salad and tomatoes last night.
Either I am crazy or I am eating in my sleep.....or my memory has gone completely haywire.
It is a puzzlement.
I emptied the water and put both containers and lids in the dishwasher.
-
I blame DR JOSE.

So, my friend Margo's sister Barb was visiting, and I just dropped her off at the airport.
-
She lives in Minneapolis and was visiting again because of Margo's knee replacement surgery last month (Margo is improving very much).
-
Anyway, I dropped off Barb st the airport at about 4:15 or 4:20, and I just stopped at a restaurant about 20 miles south of the airport.
-
Because of the traffic, it took over an hour to get here!! :o
-
And here is where I am:
-
It's the Poodle Dog Cafe. :)
-
I got their Monte Cristo lunch special (available anytime):
-
:)
;D

Too bad you don't live closer to the airport ;)

I'm glad Margo has had company while recovering and is improving very much.
-
It's not too bad, but not as good as the Monte Cristo at Pellegrino's (https://pellegrinositaliankitchen.com/) in Tumwater.

Forgot to leave a note last night, Jack, thanks for the snack, the chicken salad and tomatoes were delicious

I think Santa's reindeer prefer carrots to tomatoes. But still, a nice thought.

I need to buy a clown nose.

Have fun buying a clown nose ;D

-
Just been doing a few little things. Had second outing so she could pee.

Skye is daughter's best friend.
-
Made the rest of the fettuccine with pink sauce, onions, and peas. No protein.
-
It was good.
-
Watched a motion picture. Can't sit on the couch too long because dog is there and my allergies, even with the pill, get bad - can't breathe and like that.
-
Started to watch Asteroid City. Ten minutes in and it's just so cutesy like all this guy's movies.
-
If I'm to finish it it will have to be on the computer.
-
Where in tarnation IS everyone?
-
Certainly not here.
-
Here everyone is not.

Even though there appear to be three people here.

I loved the performance of the overture here, which is all I have heard. I know Mr. Mauceri isn’t everyone’s favorite, but …
-
Wednesday evening greetings! It was another frustrating HVAC day here. Today’s tech told Richard that our community’s maintenance supervisor and the HVAC company are “in conversation” and “numbers are being crunched.” We think Santa may be bringing us a new system.

I can think of a few people I wouldn't mind giving this cake to. 8)
I’d like to send that to the person who thought it was OK to let new residents move into a house without heat - in November.

I need it to complete my "Rudolph" outfit.

Good night, friends.
-
DR singdaw that would be a popular cake in these here parts.
-
DR VIXMOM thanks so much for clearing that up.
I feel much better now.
-
Poodle Dog Cafe.
I like the idea of that.
-
The Amazing Race finale was not what I hoped it would be....but it was fine nonetheless.
-
I have finished about one fourth of my writing project....my research is done for the next part....and so on we go.
-
My question for ASK BK DAY:
What is your favorite Paddy Chayefsky film?
-
I am contemplating who I want to ask to work on the set for FLOWERS FOR ALGERNON.
-
My problem is that I really want to play a part in Something Rotten but it is in August and ALGERNON is in September.....so that is really stretching things very thin time wise.
-
So I will leave it in the hands of the director of Something Rotten.
If she can deal with it, then so can I.
-
Continued theeder vibes for DR CHAS SMITH as he heads into the Xmas rush of productions.
-
Doggie vibes for MR BK.

DR Ron I was very sad reading about Dickens.
I have another Dickens tale to share:
When Vickie was nearing her end, which is when her weight began going down and she didn't eat very much, I had a dream one night.
In my dream, Dickens (who had been dead some 10 years or so) jumped up on my bed and put his paw on my face. I reached out to stroke him but he jumped off my bed and ran to my door. I got up and followed, and he went to the box Vickie slept in and sat on top of it. He looked at me soberly, and I was absolutely certain he was letting me know it was her time.
-
Thanks for sharing that, Ron.
-
I’ve spent the last hour or so trying to set up a digital frame and importing pictures.
-
It’s digital, so it felt like work.
-
Good night, all.
-
5 pages at 11:14? That will not do.
-
I have been part of the problem.
-
Now I must be part of the solution.
-
States I have not been to:
2 Dakotas
Montana
Oklahoma
Kansas
Arkansas
Idaho
Hawaii (going there in the spring)
-
States I have been to:
All the others
-
Idaho is technically my neighbor state. Gonna have to knock that one out. I was close once, while in Wyoming.
-
Hope Ginny has some good space heaters.
-
Been dipping into the 30s overnight here lately.
-
Rains of Ranchipoor expected overnight.
-
I think that’s something my mom used to say.
-
Page Sixlets!
-
Terrible candy, Sixlets. Just the worst chocolate.
-
I’m a chocolate snob, I’ll say it.
-
Here to entertain our Zero guests.
-
There are no small audiences, only small performers.
-
I did have zero show up for a one-act I did once. So we didn’t do the show.
-
It was a blizzard in Manhattan that night.
-
Today I interviewed an author from Brooklyn who does cemetery tours. Very knowledgeable lady, good info about cemetery history, good conversation. Will fashion a story out of it. Maybe just a Q&A.
-
US territories I have not been to:
Guam
American Samoa
Northern Marianas
-
Ones I have been to:
Puerto Rico
USVI
-
There are nine Minor Outlying Islands, small islands, atolls, and reefs in the Pacific Ocean (except Navassa Island, which is in the Caribbean Sea), that are not populated:
Palmyra Atoll
Baker Island
Howland Island
Jarvis Island
Johnston Atoll
Kingman Reef
Midway Atoll
Wake Island
Navassa Island
-
I have not been to any of those.
-
I did like the movie “Midway” as broadcast on ABC-TV when I was a kid.
-
The US also has two disputed territories in the Caribbean Sea:
Bajo Nuevo Bank
Serranilla Bank
-
Never knew those existed.
-
Are you not entertained?
-
I think I have provided the tools for someone to get us at least to page 7.
-
And that’s being part of the solution.
-
I bet Ron Pulliam has been to some of those territories in his naval days.
-
States I have not been to:

That's pretty cool.

I was watching an Outside the Box on kritzerland youtube, and I think it was one with Hal Linden, in the intro phone bit, he says, “I don’t know what to say.”
To which BK replies, “Say yes, like in the delightful Kander and Ebb musical 70 Girls 70.”
Therefore it was always BK’s destiny to direct that show.
-
Let's see...I was born in Alabama, and we lived in Alabama, Georgia, California, Texas, and Germany by the time I was four.
-
After we left Germany when I was seven, we stayed in New Jersery for three days before we drove to Colorado, and we lived there until I was ten years old.
-
We then moved here to Washington, where I've lived ever since.
-
Other than where I lived and which states we drove through, I've been to Utah and Nevada and New York.
-
And I think that those are all the states that I've actually been to as actual destinations.
-
My sister just vacationed in Hawaii, and my niece has been to Florida with her aunt, but I haven't been to either of those states.
-
Oh, I almost forgot Oregon!
-
I ran across Fred Ebb in the most surprising of ways this morning while researching the Looking For Mr. Goodbar murder case.
The fellow who was friends with the murderer, who the murderer in fact confessed to, was a guy who knew Ebb and, not sure whether to believe his friend or not, called his other (non-murderous) pal, Fred Ebb, for advice. He flies out to LA to tell Ebb what’s happened. They end up getting in touch with the guy’s therapist who convinced the guy to come back to NY and talk to police, which he eventually did. Crazy stuff.
-
My cousin and his wife live there and we've visited them several times. :)

George have you been to Vancouver, BC?

Page 7! They said it couldn’t be done.

George have you been to Vancouver, BC?
I have, but not in many years.
-
Idaho is technically my neighbor state. Gonna have to knock that one out. I was close once, while in Wyoming.
I've driven through that, but that reminds me that when I was going to Western Washington University, the Concert Choir performed at the National Music Educators Association conference in Indiana, and we "toured" our way up to Chicago, so I've also been to Indiana and Illinois.
-
Been dipping into the 30s overnight here lately.
It's 43°F in Tumwater right now.

Like you, I have lived in Washington, Georgia, and California.

Some raining is expected here, but not that much.

The one time my sister, niece and I went to London in 2001, one thing my sister wanted to do was to go to and OLD cemetery. We found one close to our hotel that had gravestones from the 1600s!
-
I did have zero show up for a one-act I did once. So we didn’t do the show.
Not even as a rehearsal?
Maybe? I can’t actually remember. Probably just all wanted to get home out of the snow. It was a theatre space across the street from Port Authority bus terminal on 42nd st.
-

I was looking briefly at a sports info job at Western Washington U. Looked like a lovely campus. Did you like it there? I thought also of applying for an adjunct theatre professorship there.

I did enjoy going to Western and the Bellingham city.

I don't know why I didn't get a job in the local library there, but I didn't. Who knows what my life would be like now. :-\

-
You’d probably be sad to see what’s become of the Bellis Fair Mall.
That's too bad. It was still pretty new when I lived there (1986-1989).
-
But the same is happening around here.
-
The South Sound Mall is no longer a mall, just two or three big stores called South Sound Center (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Sound_Center), and the westside's Capital Mall (https://capitalmallolympia.com/) has lost some businesses, but at least that seems to be hanging on.
-
I do not care for page seven.
-
Just in case anyone was wondering.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.

I wrote them.

AND we got to page eight.
-
Just in the nick of time.

Whew!
