Well, you've read the notes, the notes were hypnotic, and now it is time for you to post until the hypnotic cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SALUBRIOUS!
-
And I do believe I may be the only lyricist to actually use that word in a song - not only use it but in a triple rhyme.
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
~~~Vibes for a Modern Major Miracle to Make This Holiday Season One of Good Cheer!!~~~
-
Good morning, all!
-
This morning has been too busy for my liking. And that's all I'm saying.
-
This is a "Yesterday I Loved You" day. I must finish it by Sunday.
-
DR Rodzinski, from the accounts of two others (one of them a costume assistant on the original production of 70 Girls 70) I have the impression that Mr Ebb was familiar with Manhattan's hustler scene.
-
Good morning, all.
Can you rephrase that to include the word salubrious?
-
Not a great night of sleep.
-
I’ve been adding more photos and a few videos to my digital frame.
-
Yesterday at the neighborhood grocery, I paid $2.29 a gallon for gas.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Keep your daubers up.
That’s a new one on me.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I believe I never actually saw Horrors of the Black Museum at a theater. I finally watched a DVD copy of it some years ago that, as I recall, was not a good transfer in any way. It will be fun to see this new Blu-ray sometime.
-
Today will be a very busy one, and I must get, um, busy. Later! :)
-
Modern Major Miracle vibes for MR BK.
-
Brush up rehearsal vibes for MR BK & Co.
-
I have finished my research for the next part of the play I am writing, so I will be working on that today.
-
Thursday morning greetings! Rick and Russ from maintenance have been here to reposition our dining room chandelier and the dimmer switch. Still no heat, but at least our table and buffet/hutch aren’t touching corners.
-
Sun is shining....
-
DR RODZINSKI you forgot the US possession that Bullwinkle Moose always talked about:
No Bikini Atoll
-
HEAT vibes for DR GINNY.
-
I enjoyed DR RON PULLIAM's story last night.
-
Notes unspooled. Bejeweled.
-
I think the first movie in a movie theater that really scared me (in a good way) was "House of Dark Shadows."
-
We saw "Wait Until Dark" at camp when I was very young, and that was frightening as all get out.
-
Page 2!
-
DR RODZINSKI you forgot the US possession that Bullwinkle Moose always talked about:
No Bikini Atoll
Although the US acted like it owned it and nuked it and shuttled its population around for decades after, Bikini is part of the nation of the Marshall Islands.
-
I think they had intended for us young summer-campers to see a family movie called "Lad: A Dog" but somehow we ended up seeing "Wait Until Dark."
-
Rodzinski and George, that was a very entertaining back and forth last night on places you've visited or lived.
-
And it also filled up a good number of pages, which BK seemed to like!
-
I remember the bejeezus REALLY being scared out of me the first time I saw the close-up of Margaret Hamilton as the Wicked Witch of the West cackling right into the camera.
-
That had to be when I was very young because I saw "Wizard of Oz" on TV. for the first time in the first place my family lived, back in the 1960s.
-
From Bruce:
Skye is daughter's best friend.
Thanks. Then your daughter just asked you to watch Sophie for her friend?
-
Bruce, I'm not sure cutesy is the word I would have used for Asteroid City but it works.
-
HVAC VIBES FOR DR GINNY!
-
From DR Ginny:
I’d like to send that to the person who thought it was OK to let new residents move into a house without heat - in November.
That's for sure. Have they done anything to temporarily provide you with heat?
-
From DR Ron:
I have another Dickens tale to share:
When Vickie was nearing her end, which is when her weight began going down and she didn't eat very much, I had a dream one night.
In my dream, Dickens (who had been dead some 10 years or so) jumped up on my bed and put his paw on my face. I reached out to stroke him but he jumped off my bed and ran to my door. I got up and followed, and he went to the box Vickie slept in and sat on top of it. He looked at me soberly, and I was absolutely certain he was letting me know it was her time.
This is a beautiful story.
-
From DR Rodzinski:
States I have been to:
All the others
;D Your other list is rather short
-
From the short list I have only been to 3 our of the 8 states mentioned.
-
Idaho is a beautiful state. Combine it with a trip to Montana.
-
Thursday morning greetings! Rick and Russ from maintenance have been here to reposition our dining room chandelier and the dimmer switch. Still no heat, but at least our table and buffet/hutch aren’t touching corners.
At least you have some progress. No heat is inexcusable.
-
Rodzinski and George, that was a very entertaining back and forth last night on places you've visited or lived.
I also found it to be entertaining.
-
DR George, I am glad you remembered to mention Oregon, though you left out the part where we first met in Portland ;)
-
Sophie is the daughter's dog. She'd arranged for someone to watch her near where she lives. That person flaked. Skye could only watch her for one day, so I was the emergency watcher, as no one else could do it.
Interesting. Too many hands in motion. But I like Mendez a lot.
I thought maybe I had missed something. Thanks for explaining.
Oh, and I forgot to say I'm up. I'm up.
-
Had her walk and she did both sets of business right here in the yard, so I'm hoping that continues.
-
Gave her her early meal, which she got rid of quickly. Otherwise, all she does is sleep.
-
I had Panda Express for food.
-
I'll leave here around six-ten for our brush-up rehearsals.
-
Foolish pooping consistency is the hobgoblin of neurotic dogs.
-
And speaking of dogs...
I love them. I wore my Sherlock Christmas t-shirt today.
-
Congrats ;D
I’d like to send that to the person who thought it was OK to let new residents move into a house without heat - in November.
That's for sure. Have they done anything to temporarily provide you with heat?
Yes, we have a heater built into the ceiling of our primary bathroom and the maintenance guy brought us 2 space heaters. The one is the living room is pretty useless, but the other one makes our bedroom quite toasty.
-
There's this cartoon on the net of one neighbor saying to the other neighbor "I'm getting really tired of your dog doing his business on my lawn!” - and it shows the dog having set up a lemonade stand on the neighbor's lawn.
I think this link to the cartoon could work
At least the two most important rooms are warm.
Is it almost summer?
-
Nearing the end of Riverdale. There was an original musical episode, use of Rose’s Turn, two songs from South Pacific and the mistaken belief that Rocky Horror dates back to the 1950s.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I have been much busier than I’d like to be. Where does all this stuff come from ??
-
I’m finishing up my medical appointments for the year. Then the handyman came by this morning to install a custom-made interior storm window in the kitchen window that faces west. The whole apartment is drafty, but this window gets the wind off the ocean (several miles away) and leaks horribly. We have an excellent handyman. I explained to him my idea for an interior storm window. I’m sure he’s never made one before, but he did a lovely job, as I knew he would. He even convinced the owner to pay for it. I wasn’t expecting that and was prepared to pay for it myself. It should help. Gawd, I hope so! I freeze on cold nights.
-
HVAC vibes for DR Ginny!
Vibes you have an abundance of heat very soon!
-
Sophie the Dog has clearly had potty training. I’m wondering if whoever trained her was very specific about where to poop, and in this new an unfamiliar setting she’s a bit confused.
-
Vibes to bk and the Group Rep for a great closing weekend.
-
I ordered a tostada salad last week from the Fresh Corn Grill. It was really good! I’m now on a tostada kick. I don’t usually eat tostadas.
Good for your handyman, and vibes the new storm window makes a big difference.
I often eat them these days figuring they are healthier than my cheese enchiladas.
Page three???
-
Page three cannot be.
-
Sophie went outside and peed. Good.
-
Shortly, I'll shave and shower.
-
Then I'll give Sophie her evening meal and I'll mosey on over to the theater.
-
When I return, we'll try another pee session.
-
Obviously, not time for movie watching.
If you can read this article from The Washington Post, do so.
Every once in a while my computer freezes, sometimes for exactly what happened to the woman in the article. I receive a warning about something and a number to call.
I am very lucky that I can yell "Keith" and he fixes the problem. This woman called the Microsoft number and began the process that would permit the scammers to steal most of her money.
-
She installed software on her computer, giving him control. He urged her to call the customer service number on the back of her bank card for help.
Somehow the scammers rerouted the number on the back of her bank card and she never actually spoke to her bank.
-
FOUR!
-
Really scary is that this woman is smart and capable, yet she fell for the scam.
-
Keith has reminded me, if there are issues and he isn't home turn off the computer until he can take care of it. Do not call any numbers provided.
-
Not that I needed reminding.
-
Thanks for that link, Jane!
-
You are welcome.
Cilla was just on CNN.
Tonight, Margo and I are going to the Pay-What-You-Choose performance of A Christmas Carol at Harlequin Productions.
-
Gratuitous Post #100!!
-
It doesn't start until 7:30 but I'm down here at tye theater getting tickets so that we can just go into the theater when it's time.
-
AND since Margo is using a walker because of her knee surgery, I'm hoping to get a seat for her at least that isn't up any stairs.
-
I'm now third in line.
-
Whew! I got two tickets in the front row, but they're off to the side, which is not a problem. :)
-
Congrats on getting decent seats.
Continuing to enjoy Julia on Max. Very well done.
Tonight, we also started Fellow Travelers.
-
So although at my recent dental appointment, I didn't have any cavities, I do have some receding gums. And they want to do a graft.
-
They basically take tissue from the roof of your mouth and graft it into your gumline to shore it up.
-
And they had an opening, and for insurance reasons, I wanted to get it in before the end of the year.
-
So, Monday it is.
-
:P
-
::)
-
And it ain't exactly cheap.
-
But I like the periodontist a lot.
-
So there's that.
-
I've had this done once before.
-
The recovery is... uncomfortable.
-
But there it is.
-
And that was good for 10 or so posts.
-
Sorry if it's too graphic.
But we were talking about horror films.
So, horror in your mouth is in keeping with the theme.
Lucky #140!
Can we get to page six, at least?
-
It's looking promising.
-
But not without a lot of flotsam
-
And jetsam.
If you can tell the difference.
Which I know you can.
Because you're discerning.
That's what you are.
Good night, friends.
-
Poltergeist had some good scares when I saw it in the theater.
-
On TV, a film called The Legend of Hell House quite terrified me.
-
I recall my older brother and sisters covering me with a blanket so I wouldn’t see the big reveal at the end. This served to only make it more scary.
-
TOD:
I'm not sure about the first horror movie I saw that frightened me. I think it was either "The Crawling Eye" or "Tarantula".
The first sci-fi film I saw that really creeped me out was "The Incredible Shrinking Man". It had horrors in it, of course, and that was the first if it counts.
-
Today was day three of the "encapsulation" and it began with the arrival of the electricians. I was told they would need access to the power box, so i made sure they knew where it is and how to access it. Yet, throughout the morning, no one ever entered the house.
After noon, I checked my driveway and saw that the electricians' truck was gone but the company doing the encapsulation had three trucks in my driveway. I figured they were going to be hooking up the dehumidifier to the electrical wiring that had been installed.
I napped. And when I woke up, I discovered everyone had gone. No one said "boo" about anything. My belief is that someone will be here tomorrow as they had said it would be four-day installation.
Oh, well.
-
TOD Redux:
The truly scary stuff I saw as a kid had to be "Twilight Zone" episodes every Friday night. Those shows gave me the heebie-jeebies. When is the last time you had those "heebie-jeebies" referenced in a sentence?
-
Poltergeist had some good scares when I saw it in the theater.
When I first saw "Carrie" was in an outdoor theater on a NATO base in Naples, Italy. The place was packed.
That last scene...the last minute or so...scared the ever-loving snot out of me. Me and a bunch of others.
-
So, horror in your mouth is in keeping with the theme.
"Horror in Your Mouth" - There's a title that could really sell!
Back from as much as I could stomach of the brush-up. Thank goodness we're doing it, but it's clear that very few people have even thought about the show. I left my notes with the assistant and addressed a few of them during the break.
Topic of the Day: when we lived in Colorado (so, I was between the ages of 7 and 10), my sister and I had some kind of sleepover or party with a bunch of kids (I don't remember the specifics of that), and we watched Beware! The Blob (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0068271/reference/), the sequel to the original The Blob.
-
Anyway, I used to sleep with my arm under my pillow, sticking out over my head, but after seeing the first few minutes of the movie, I ran out of the room and couldn't watch the rest of it.
-
From then on, I couldn't sleep with my arm sticking out from under my pillow anymore because I thought that the Blob would eat my hand...not me, just my hand. ;D
-
I have since gotten over that fear, but I still sleep with my hands under the covers.
