Post by: vixmom on December 18, 2023, 05:10:00 AM: Went to church, delivered communion to three shutins, brought home a egg sandwich and coffee for Vixdad and a croissant for me from our local bagel bakery , brought in the Christmas tree from the garage, set up the tree and put on the lights and garland while watching White Christmas and Love Actually on the Netflix, went to Blaze Pizza with Vixdad for dinner because the youth of the church were running a fund raiser ( 20% of meal cost went to youth fund) . Almost everyone in the restaurant was from church. Stopped at Carvel on the way home and got ice cream cups ( chocolate vanilla twist soft serve with almonds ) came home ate ice cream fell asleep in recliner instead of fetching ornaments from crawl space.woke up at 10 pm went to bed.

Once I did, I could not tune out.

It's an incredibly moving, brilliantly directed and acted film.

This rather record-breaking rain and wind storm moved in during the night, and by the time I got my ASS out of bed at 6:00 am, it had grown to full strength. At 7:30 I started my drive to Norwalk, and the rain and wind were...something else.

Post by: ChasSmith on December 18, 2023, 10:10:49 AM: I had built in about 40 minutes extra to get to my destination, allowing for shitty weather conditions and probably extra-heavy rush hour traffic resulting from it. Well, no one could be more amazed than I was to arrive at only five minutes later than what my normal driving time would have been. And that's with slow traffic due to a tree in the road in (count 'em) two places. Unbelievable.

Still raining the entite way home, but it should be totally past us in another two hours.

FORTUNATELY, no damage anywhere around the house that I can see, and that's really all I ak.

I've got a few blessed hours in which to relax, and maybe grab a small nap, before getting ready to clean up and do it all over again for concert #2 this evening. But in clear, dry weather, which hopefully we are having for the next two days of these concerts.

Endless clearing of the throat due to phlegm that would not go away, coughing, nose blowing. Until the dog is out and the house has been cleaned, this will continue, I'm sure. I almost thought, well, so many in the cast had recent colds, maybe I caught it, but I really don't think so. I finally took a Mucinex-D, and that breaks up the phlegm and it seems to be working, but the allergy pill clearly isn't.

The Mandy number is a garish excess of immense proportions, the script is preposterous, and Rosemary Clooney looks like she could overpower the twink midgets surrounding her in her big solo. Yet I love Vera-Ellen every moment she’s on screen. And the Irving Berlin songs are largely perfect ear candy.
