Well, you've read the notes, the notes were rough and had something to do with Jericho, and now it is time for you to post until the rough cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: JAMMY!
-
TOD:
Onions
Garlic
Cruciferous vegetables, unless cooked as soft as mush. Sad.
-
Also fried and oily food.
Oh, and peppers, both red and green, raw and cooked.
I love fajitas, but there are too many ingredients that no longer agree with me.
-
I can no longer eat and digest chipotle chiles.
Loved their smoky goodness.
Miss them.
-
Rodzinski, I love your new avatar.
You look very handsome!
-
George, congrats on your next theatrical adventure!
You will be a wonderful Stage Manager.
-
And the word of the day is: JAMMY!
What Makes Jammy Run?
-
Good morning, all!
-
I had to be up early for an Amazon Fresh delivery. I expect it in around 30 minutes.
-
This morning I must return a phone call. Rob Berman and I have a telephonic date this afternoon. I've been expecting a call from my collaborator DJ about Moonshine & Mistletoe as well, but he's not responded to my last text.
-
Amazing! Amazon Fresh showed up by 7:00!
-
Good morning
-
Another grey day
-
Well Wordle and work I guess

Whew that was close

Kitty and Amazon cleanup accomplished. I'll take the recyclables and trash to the basement later. I need to lie down and rest for a bit.
-
Good morning, friends.

WHERE THE HELL IS THE STAGE MANAGER?
-
[a Stephen Sondheim/Hugh Wheeler reference]
-
I dreamt last night that BK and I were helping Jason Graae clean his house. And he had two huge bags of money (loose bills) that he needed us to count.
-
Good morning, all.
-
TOD:
Chili powder
-
I had an intermittent night of sleep. I blame the decongestant.
-
And I blame Jose.
-
Must get moving.
-
It’s off to the food pantry.
-
But first …
-
Let’s move on.
-
Two!
-
I'm developing an atti-two-d.
-
Good morning, all.
-
In a couple of hours I go in to get my eyes measured.
-
.
-
The eyes have it.
-
Them there eyes.
-
The eyes of March.
-
Eyes, eyes, sir.
-
The eyes of Laura Mars.
-
Through the eyes of love.
-
I'm developing an atti-two-d.
Do you also blame Jose?
-
We either have a major storm headed our way to hit on Saturday, or a major storm will bypass us and only result in rain showers on Saturday.
Sigh. It's nice to know that something may or may not happen, but wouldn't it all be the same if no one were forecasting it for us?
-
How did it get to be Thursday, for pity's sake? Or for Petey's sake?
The 4th of January 2024 seems to be some sort of cosmic joke in its simplicity.
It's the 4th day of January.
It's 2024.
And yet, life remains unchanged from what it was on the 4th of December 2023 (except Christmas was not looming).
Happily, all the Hallmark channels have abandoned their 24/7 Christmas movie showings until, at least, July.

LOL!

In a couple of hours I go in to get my eyes measured.
Vibes that goes well!
-
I dreamt last night that BK and I were helping Jason Graae clean his house. And he had two huge bags of money (loose bills) that he needed us to count.
That sounds like a very pleasant dream!
-
Were the bags of money from a no-credit-cards cabaret performance?
-
George, congrats on your next theatrical adventure!
You will be a wonderful Stage Manager.
Thanks for the vote of confidence, Iris!

WHERE THE HELL IS THE STAGE MANAGER?
[a Stephen Sondheim/Hugh Wheeler reference]
:))
-
DR GEORGE remember to tell the actors DO NOT TOUCH THE PROPS until it's time for them to go onstage.
-
Eye measuring vibes for DR CHAS SMITH.
-
I hope DR ELMORE gets his phone call from his collaborator.
-
Early Monday evening will be fine with me for the Q & A.
-
OK, Apple mavens, somehow I have dimmed my screen and I cannot find the setting to make it bright again.
Any ideas?
-
Good morning.
-
I was useless on New Years Day from the fireworks. I hosted a big meeting on Tuesday, and I was useless on Wednesday. Today I should be able to accomplish something.
-
I plugged in the laptop, so what I should accomplish today is editing the minutes from November.
-
DR JANE & I should form a Refrigerator Information Committee to keep folks from buying lemons.
-
I hope DR ELMORE gets his phone call from his collaborator.
It was a nice wish.
-
WHERE THE HELL ARE MY FINGER CYMBALS?
A Sweet Adeline-Oscar Hammerstein reference.
-
LOL....look in the refrigerator.
-
Good Morning - it's quite the sunshine day today. When the boys are picked up, I'm going to head on over to school and try and make heads or tails out of my desk before students are back on Monday. I'll bring garbage bags. This weekend is a talent show for the theatre group that I'm involved with and I'm playing for the singers - as well as doing a number myself. So, I should probably look at my music before rehearsal tomorrow night so I don't look too much like a fool!
-
I found the Brightness setting! Thanks anyway, citizens.
-
What number are you doing DR MATTHEW?
-
TOD: Anything overly salty doesn't agree with me anymore. I'm not much for spicy food to begin with, so I guess I'm good in that area.
-
What number are you doing DR MATTHEW?
I'm doing the "Audition Sequence" from Vol 1 of Forbidden Broadway - "I'm sick of playing their songs...."

Perfect.
-
Back from the food pantry. The cars were lined up around the church.
-
LOL DR MATTHEW I agree with DR JOHN G....perfection.
-
DR GEORGE remember to tell the actors DO NOT TOUCH THE PROPS until it's time for them to go onstage.
Exactly!
-
Jrand, now it's YOUR turn for a millstone!! :D
-
No word from my Moonshine collaborator, but I did have a lovely telephonic conversation with Rob Berman.
-
Jrand, now it's YOUR turn for a millstone!! :D
Jrand, congratulations on your millstone!
-

That's great!
-
Fun and safe travel vibes for DR Vixmom.
-
From DR Singdaw:
Sorry you have a lemon, DR Jane. Did you try making lemonade?
No, but I did try to get them to replace it. They almost did, then played more games until the warranty expired.
-
From Singdaw:
At least DH Keith likes the new vacuum cleaner.
LOL. I am not rushing to find out if I like it or not.
-
DR Singdaw, great news regarding your mouth.
-
TOD:
Onions
Garlic
Cruciferous vegetables, unless cooked as soft as mush. Sad.
Sigh, I can relate to this list.
-
We either have a major storm headed our way to hit on Saturday, or a major storm will bypass us and only result in rain showers on Saturday.
Sigh. It's nice to know that something may or may not happen, but wouldn't it all be the same if no one were forecasting it for us?
;D Still, it is best to be prepared.
-
Happily, all the Hallmark channels have abandoned their 24/7 Christmas movie showings until, at least, July.
LOL!
;D
-
You didn't mention that other, new, station that I personally would not want to support.
-
I was useless on New Years Day from the fireworks. I hosted a big meeting on Tuesday, and I was useless on Wednesday. Today I should be able to accomplish something.
Sleep well tonight so you can function again tomorrow.
-
DR JANE & I should form a Refrigerator Information Committee to keep folks from buying lemons.
Where were you before we purchased the lemon ;)
-
Back. Measured.
-
TOD: Anything overly salty doesn't agree with me anymore. I'm not much for spicy food to begin with, so I guess I'm good in that area.
Salty is not something I expected to not agree with anyone. Not supposed to eat salt, yes.
-
I start eye drops on Sunday and get the first eye done on Wednesday.
-
Back from the food pantry. The cars were lined up around the church.
I was scrolling too fast and at first read this as cats. That presented a rather interesting image ;D
-
I start eye drops on Sunday and get the first eye done on Wednesday.
Continued vibes all goes well and you are able to get your eye done.
-

You never sat in front of those machines you look into and they scan the inside of your eyes?
-
I don't know what these drops do. I'll look it up later.
The ones after the surgery are antibiotics, I think?
-
Whoa.
RIP Glynis Johns, 100
-
Some surgeons like to prescribe drops, others don't feel it is necessary.

I just LOVE that illustration, DR elmore3003. Can't wait for the book!!!!
-
I don't know what these drops do. I'll look it up later.
The ones after the surgery are antibiotics, I think?
I had three different drops after the surgery. I took them fifteen minutes apart, four times a day.

Eye measured? Drops? I had no prep so I'm impressed.
You never sat in front of those machines you look into and they scan the inside of your eyes?
Yes to that, but the cataract surgeon used that weeks before the surgery.
-
Thank you, DRs George, John G, ChasSmith, and singdaw, for your response to Jeremy's beautiful work.
-
CONGRATULATIONS on your lofty new perch in the HHW firmament, DR Jrand73.
DITTO!

Whoa.
RIP Glynis Johns, 100
I thought she had died weeks ago! I always loved her. It was a thrill to see her in A Little Night Music.
-
I was just reading about Glynis Johns.
-
I keep reading that she is best known for Mary Poppins without mentioning The Court Jester.
-
I'm up, I'm up - nine hours of sleep.
-
Glynis Johns - fell in love with her and had a huge boy crush on her in The Court Jester.
-
What a long life.
-
Jrand, the F keys on your Mac keyboard have a lot of shortcut commands. Brightness are the F1 and F2 keys, 1 to dim, 2 to brighten. 10, 11, and 12 are volume keys.
-
Whoa.
RIP Glynis Johns, 100
Mrs. Banks was who I wanted for a mother back when I was 3. Then Desiree came into o my universe as a teenager. Finally her turn as the mother from hell in The Ref. So many remarkable performances beyond those. I was a big fan.

I swear, they've scanned me at least four times over the year.

I first saw her in Disney's The Sword and the Rose aka When Knighthood was in Flower. She's brilliant in The Ref.
-
Thanks to DR GEORGE for the verification of the new millstone and thanks to DR FREDDIE, DR singdaw, DR JANE for the mentions.....I think I'm leaving someone out.....maybe DR JOHN G.
-
Rodzinski, I love your new avatar.

My day is MADE!

Page 5!
-
Thanks to MR BK for the F key recommendations as Oscar Madison would say.
-
We have the same forecast that DR RON PULLIAM has for the weekend.....it may or may not sn*w.
-
Whoa.
RIP Glynis Johns, 100
I just saw that. :( But 100...a good, long ride.
-
Great illustration, Larry. Could see my kids liking that book. And me as well.
-

You're very welcome, Jrand.
-
Glynis Johns. What a voice.
-
I hadn’t congratulated you yet, JRand. Consider yourself congratulated now though.
-
We have the same forecast that DR RON PULLIAM has for the weekend.....it may or may not sn*w.
Fortunately, no sn*w for the foreseeable future.
-
The lowest it's expected to get around these parts is 34°F, and that's not until the weekend.

TOD:
Most foods, except for Basmati.
-
This is not recent, about 29 years now.
-
I remember the GLYNIS television series from 1963 from Desilu that featured Lucille Ball's boyfriend Keith Andes.
They were sort of a Nick/Nora couple.....but what I remember most was the 1963 Thunderbird that they drove.

-
DR Elmore, I'm late in getting to it, but I just did a quick spot check of the Irving/NYC Ballet Nutcracker tape, and it sounds really nice. And what a pleasure, spot checking a reel to reel tape for a change, as opposed to an LP.
I'd also been curious as to what a Kapp classical recording sounds like, because I'm pretty sure I've never had one. Could that be? Maybe I'm wrong. But now I can leave thanks and feedback for the seller, then later I'll listen properly to the whole thing straight through on the Big Speakers.
Edit: While following the score. Absolutely.

Lucille Ball's boyfriend :o
-
Which was better? Glynis’ singing voice or her speaking voice?
-
Tonight I am going to watch A PLACE IN THE SUN on TCM.......Montgomery Clift, Elizabeth Taylor, and Shelley Winters and Anne Revere....all directed by George Stevens.
I never tire of this movie.....it is wonderful.....
Taylor is the only actress to star opposite Clift and James Dean (both films directed by Stevens).....a joy from beginning to end....and still a wonderful primer for actors and directors today.....
-
I’m watching the Sweeney Todd concert with Patti LuPone and George Hearn. Haven’t seen it in years.
-
I know Elmore’s favorite is playing the Beggar Woman.
-
But the score sounds great.

TOD 2:
I forgot that I can’t do caffeine, except in small doses.
-
It’s been out of my diet for 25 years now.
-
And I shouldn’t eat things high in oxalic acid because it causes kidney stones. That sad list includes spinach, rhubarb, tea and, to a lesser extent, chocolate, nuts, lentils and beans.

So, looks like we'll try for Monday as the Q&A day. If we start here at five, does eight East Coast time work for everyone?
-
Futzed and finessed and wrote a couple of new pages. I'll do another eight to ten before bed.
-
Had fried catfish for food thanks to a 50% off coupon.
-
Back to writing.
-
When food began bothering me first I went off of Pepsi, and then all carbonated drinks. Thanks to Protonix I can drink a little bit occassionally.
-
Thanks to Protonix I can eat without doubling over in pain. It helps both my GERD & IBS.

Because there was gold in them/their hills.
-
Eight pages so far and time for a break.
-
I believe Monday evening will be fine for the Q&A.
-
Is the Q&A here on this site?
-
In the past, I believe it has been a Zoom thing.
-
Or thang, as today's youth sometimes say.
-
Of course, today's youth also sometimes wear thongs.
-
It's a thong thang.

In the past, I believe it has been a Zoom thing.

Good night, friends.

I remember her more fondly for "No highway in the Sky".

Making some headway with Becoming Ella Fitzgerald.

-
Good night, all.
-
Night crew reporting for duty.
-
Yes, the Q&A will be via Zoom and I'll post that link in Monday's notes. I'd love to have a nice crowd.

I do not care for page seven.

Just finishing up a terrible movie.

Monday at 5 could do nicely for me.

-
Now I must get to sleep so I can get up , pack a bag and go to work

-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.

That LA production of Night Music was dreadful, horribly directed by Gordon Davidson. It was supposed to star Lee Remick as Desiree, but she died and Lois Nettleton did it. John McMartin was in it, Glynis. our Robert Yacko was an understudy, and my beautiful Michelle Nicastro played Anne. It had a terrible set, no style at all.
