Well, you've read the notes, the notes visited February of 1962, and now it is time for you to post until the 1962 cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SWANK!
-
Tonight is opening night for Poe Nocturne! I don't know how many people have purchased tickets, but I'll find out soon enough.
-
~~~OPENING NIGHT VIBES~~~ for DR George, Cast, & Crew!!!
-
There's no business like show business.
-
Or so I've heard.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And bravo to DR Rodzinski and DR George for filling out the pages last night.
-
A heroic effort.
-
So heroic, in fact, that somewhere a ghost is ringing a bell.
-
Yes, that's right. Stick around HHW for the high-end graphics.
-
Enjoying BK's time machine.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept rather poorly. I was awake with a panic attack around 3:30 this morning, thanks to the entire mess between my bank and Spectrum, both of whom should rot in hell.
-
Last night I finished Fellow Travelers, which left me crying like a baby. I'm not sure I enjoyed it and I'm not sure I will ever want to see it again, but there were times I felt I was watching a modified replay of my life. After I dried my eyes and gained a semblance of equanimity, I called the one that got away and will never go away to talk about the series.
-
There was so much in the series about fathers and sons, realists vs idealists, paranoia and betrayals that we had much to discuss.
-
Good morning
-
I hope all are feeling well today
-
Thank you for the. Vibes yesterday
-
I’m not sure if I am getting sick or just getting dry throat from a too a warm bedroom
-
Anyway I must Wordle and work
Finally, a day off from going anywhere, notably to a doctor. Even though I’ve never minded going to a doctor of the eyeballs. It’s just good to have a day, several days, without, and being able to sit at home relaxing.
TOD
Last night I watched the first two episodes of the series PAN AM, which ran for only one season and I saw only one episode of it back then, and I’m enjoying it very much.
Before that, I watched the 1970 British film BARTLEBY, based on the Melville story. Wow, talk about bleak. Have to give this one some thought.
Stay tuned for more. I’m here all week!
-
Being as it’s Friday, it’s time for our weekly summer rain and wind storm tonight and tomorrow.
I kid you not.
Yes, I am well aware that today is the twelfth of January. Well aware of that. And yet…..
-
And yet…..
-
Good morning, all.
-
Onward!
-
Two!
-
Bad night of sleep. Blame the decongestant.
-
Blame Jose.
I dreamt I had to drive in Australia, which is on the other side of the road. I don't remember anything after I started driving, except that it was easier than I had expected.
-
Then I was awake for too long.
-
George - Break a leg on your opening night!
I dreamt I had to drive in Australia, which is on the other side of the road. I don't remember anything after I started driving, except that it was easier than I had expected.
We've been watching episodes of "Inspector Morse" recently, and I keep having to remind myself that the driver of the car is on the opposite side from here in the US.
-
And bravo to DR Rodzinski and DR George for filling out the pages last night.
That WAS a fun read, in addition to getting to page 8!
Good news DR IRIS.
They can be used for meditation or just carried in pocket or purse. Sometimes just handling them help adjust the energy of the moment.
At Nick & Jerry's you could twist twist twist to the music of The Four Flames - direct from New York!
At the B & B Theater and Restaurant you could see Edgar Bergen & Charlie McCarthy PLUS The Lindsay Sapphire Dancers!
Good Friday morning to all of you!
I slept beautifully until about 8:30 a.m. Had very pleasant dreams.
But, nobody likes a Pollyanderson, so I'll stop there!
-
Yes, you heard it here first. It is Friday, january 12th, in Johnston SC. And it's the year 2024.
If I live another 24 years, I'll be 98.
I'd love to live all those years, but quality of life would have to accompany me.
Otherwise, I shall look forward to the next adventure...
-
And, yes! FWIW, THAT sort of thing is what begins crossing your minds after a "certain" age attainment.
I am certain other factors weigh in, as well, such as how many pills you find yourself taking in the morning and the evening.
When I was 40, I began taking one pill each morning for hypertension.
That evolved into two pills a day (morning and evening).
And now, believe me when I say you DON'T want to know.
-
That said, I can tell you I remain positive, upbeat and I do look forward to future events.
Not the 2024 election, however...THAT is one that is currently scaring the bedoobies out of me.
-
With that, I shall bid you adieu. It is time for my post office visit, followed by a trip to our recycling center and then a stop at Third Generation for my lunch.
As Jose used to say (he of the "Blame Jose" moniker), "Laters..."
-
There was some year way back when there was a double feature of WITH SIX YOU GET EGGROLL and CLAMBAKE.
The only logic for putting those two movies together seemed to be that both had food in their titles.
DR Jrand73, I am so excited. I have been invited to apply for a Venmo credit card!
We are expecting significant snow here later. In the meanwhile, the "Feels Like" temp is -4.
-
From DR Jeanne:
Jane, the item (a fleece pullover) was returned in the clear plastic bag provided by the manufacturer. I don’t really recall what sort of shipping packaging was used, but most of my Amazon deliveries lately have been in brown paper mailing envelopes, so that’s probably what it was. But why this item and not the others? They all came in something. It’s a puzzlement.
Then it did have the outer packaging. I thought the difference might be that it arrived as my shorts did, only in the clear plastic bag provided by the maufacturer. It is a puzzlement.
It is 33 degrees here and dropping with snow expected beginning later today.
I just read that the storm has stalled over the ocean and will likely not arrive until Saturday.
-
I've seen other reports that is might be mild here and hit parts of Oregon harder. Time will tell.
I should really bundle up and go for a walk while the ground is dry.
I think I will read instead.
Friday afternoon greetings! We’re on the southern edge of the winter storm that’s walloping the Great Lakes. That means we’re getting wind and rain, but not snow.
On the medical front, it appears I’m having an allergic reaction (hives) to the antiviral. Our doctor advised me to stop taking it, take Zyrtec, and go to the ER if my throat closes up 😳
-
The day has gone by so very quickly.
I got all my goals accomplished this morning, had a wonderfu lunch, etc.
I completed season 3 of "Only Murders in the Building". I got so much more out of it the second time around!
-
I have a third birthday party to attend tomorrow afternoon!
Miss Audrey James Moore will be three, and I could not be more delighted to be invited to her party!
-
We are currently in the midst of a storm that is expected to last until the wee hours of Saturday morning, including high winds and a threat of tornado.
This is the second such storm in a week!
I am glad that JB is out of jail,
-
It is dark here at 6:32 p.m.
-
Nick and Nora are covered up and sleeping...I presume.
-
Page Five.
-
A few sports events I will be viewing for my edification.
-
Luka Garza has spent the last few games on the bench in street clothes....perhaps he will be displaying his legs tonight in uniform as the Minnesota Timberwolves continue their season.
Hope springs eternal.
Remember “Four Strong Winds?” Well they were weaklings compared to the relentless winds at the moment.
-
Sorry no show tonight, G! :(
-
Had to go to the neighbors to check on why they were getting error warnings about their heat. They are in New Zealand at the moment. Was able to reset their system and ease their minds. Will check again tomorrow.
That was nice you could fix the problem.
I believe three will be popcorn tonight.
Not sure what we will watch as there are many options.
Fargo, season five.
All Creatures Great and Small.
Did anyone else collect these in the early 1970s?
-
They were all the rage with adolescents for a while.
-
Myself included.
-
For a very brief period, they even outsold traditional baseball cards.
-
But they went the way of the dodo bird.
-
And the way of pet rocks.
-
And the way of beanie babies.
-
And the way of hula hoops.
-
Amongst other things.
-
I think our fortune has come true, at long last.
:)
-
Watching Pete ‘n’ Tillie. Carol Burnett is amazing.
-
Jesus, posing next to all of the wheels he took.
-
Geraldine Page is an acquired taste that I have not acquired.
-
For a very brief period, they even outsold traditional baseball cards.
I did have the "Dark Shadows" trading cards, as I mentioned the other day. :)
I was quite surprised that they were glamorous photos rather than scary photos.
DR GEORGE sometimes it happens......and theeder and weather are not always compatible.
Congrats to DR singdaw on surviving the day.....
-
I watched a bit of tv and sports this evening.
But none of it was particularly newsworthy.
-
On Saturday we will be able to see Manchester City on NBC television at 12'30 P.M. EST. Including Mr Jack Grealish.....
So that is something to look forward to in the morning.
-
Right now on TCM....Singing In The Rain....in which Mr Donald O'Connor dances Mr Gene Kelly right off the screen.....
-
Temps are predicted to drop into sub zero numbers before morning.
-
And stay there for a couple of days.
-
I loved Wacky Packages.
-
I loved Pete ‘n’ Tillie. An honest to goodness movie for and about adults.
-
Now starting a Tod Browning movie called The Devil Doll. Script partially by Erich von Stroheim and score by Franz Waxman.
-
Sorry no show tonight, G! :(
Thanks, Rodzinski. It's been quite a long time since we've had to cancel due to cold weather.
Tonight I watched Monsieur Spade, a series starring the aging Brit Clive Owen, playing the famous American detective Sam Spade, now living in the south of France. Odd — to me at least — but watchable. A French production. Mostly in English, some French with English subtitles. On Acorn and AMC.
