Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of the wonderful Bill Hayes and the days of our lives, and now it is time for you to post until the days of our lives cows come home.

And the word of the day is: HOMOGENOUS!

Today, we have a 2:00 p.m. matinee for Poe Nocturne. Hopefully, there'll be a larger audience than last night because it'll be during daylight hours.
-
I have to remember to go to Costco for some bottled water for concessions. We didn't have any last night and a few people asked for some. ::) I have plenty of the rest of concessions, so we're all set there.
-
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
So there was a car over a lake even before Harry Potter?
-
the notes spoke of the wonderful Bill Hayes and the days of our lives
One might even say... The Hayes of Our Lives.
-
When people ask me what I did over the weekend,
I always squint and reply, "Why - what did you hear?"

A hummingbird made out of ice!

And speaking of ice... our current "feels like" is -28.

Always one of my lunch favorites!

Good morning

-
Good morning, all.
-
I just remembered that I saw Bill Hayes and his wife in a production of Love Letters somewhere in Florida back in the day. Since I was a Days of Our Lives fan when they were on, I loved it and them.
-
It is -5 degrees here and we got another inch or two of sn*w overnight.
I ain't going anywhere today.
-
Thanks for the 1958 tour MR BK.
Most excellent.
-
A nice tribute to Mr Bill Hayes in the notes.
-
DR JANE my mom enjoyed having her birthday on Christmas....she said it was like a party every year just for her and everyone was always so happy.
-
Glad to hear the mother of DR singdaw is cleared for her surgery!
-
DR JANE my mom enjoyed having her birthday on Christmas....she said it was like a party every year just for her and everyone was always so happy.
My mom's birthday was July 3, and while we lived in Luna Park near Coney Island, the neighborhood was generally in a happy mood because of advance frivolity and festivity for July 4.
-
Thanks for the 1958 tour MR BK.
Most excellent.
Yes, that was quite enjoyable!

Lovely to hear the stories of what a nice person Bill Hayes was!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Having a very lazy morning here.
-
My old acquaintance I met at the Lamb’s Club, Joyce Randolph, has died at 99.
-
Good morning.
-
There's a marathon tying up the streets in town today, so no church today.
-
My old acquaintance
So THAT"S who they're singing about in "Auld Lang Syne"!
-
My church is beginning a four-day Bible study tonight. Topic: Angels, Demons and Satan.
I do believe I must attend said study.
-
Condolences on your loss, DR Rodzinski.
-
It is nearly time for me to go to Third Generation to pick up my Sunday lunch.
I am not particularly peckish at this moment, but it will come in time.
-
I do believe I must attend said study.
You're already an expert on two out of the three.
-
I had a very weird night's sleep...if sleep is what it was. I kept hearing the same song lyrics in my head all during the early morning hours. I kept wondering why i wasn't sleeping.
Still, I am refreshed, so it may have been a spell of lucid dreaming.
Oh, the song lyric was from "Oklahoma!:
it was Curly's first verses in "People Will Say We're In Love".
Curse my YouTube late-night forays into musical theater!!

But it's that third one that eludes me!
-
My old acquaintance I met at the Lamb’s Club, Joyce Randolph, has died at 99.
:(
But such a long full life.
-
Last night was my first sleep with my new CPAP machine. This is the one I purchased myself to replace the one I had which was recalled once and probably SHOULD be recalled again.
Aside from no longer having to worry about the machine catching fire or filling my lungs with carcinogens, the actual sleeping experience was far superior to the old and the associated smart app is also superior. So I'm quite pleased.

At least they were pleasant thoughts.
Not if it was the version from the touring production that DR Laura saw. :)

Perhaps it's time for another baking adventure?
-
I had to check: I met Bill Hayes in 1998 or 1999 when he played Sir Francis Chesney in the Kenedy Center's concert production of Where's Charley? I edited the score for that production. He was very friendly. I liked him.
-
My new devit card arrived in yesterday's mail. Thank God that's all taken care of.

Sunday afternoon greetings! Very cold here today (currently 9, but feels like -7), but at least the sun is shining.
-
So sorry to hear about your friend, DR Rodzinski.
-
Good Morning! Hiding out in my classroom as the kids choir has the music for the 10:00am, mass today. At the moment, I'm, in the middle of WW3 with one of its directors. She has a hard time remembering who's in charge and I'm tired of dealing with her. While I may not be the director of the kids choir, it does fall under my jurisdiction as Director of Music... and that's all I'm saying about THAT
-
It's a lovely day here today.
-
I am happy to report that we never lost power, or had any pipes burst, or passive amounts of snow.
-
From DR John:
Finished Martin Amis’s The Zone of Interest. Excellent read, if not entirely successful look at life at a concentration camp from the perspective of the commandant. Evil is banal, and it certainly fills the book. Looking forward to the movie.
Though I won't be reading this it does sound intriguing.
-
DR Vixmom I am sorry your brother didn't enjoy his Christmas birthday. It also makes me realize what a great job we did making sure Bryan's birthdays were separate and special.
-
Vixson already has too many stuffed animals, and he isn’t even born yet
:D
-
From Vixmom:
When you’re fighting Orks and Ice Giants in a frozen tundra it’s no time to start getting cutesy.
:)) :))
-
From DR Laura:
It's not as exciting as it sounds.
Since a whirlwind trip to Burbank does not sound exciting at all, it must have been terribly boring ;D

I agree he should be convicted, and that he should be punished for his crimes. I'm just not sure that putting him in prison might not do more harm to the country than good.

Then what punishment would he get, if not prison? Some are criminal charges and jail time is the punishment. :-\

I know. I have read a few interesting articles on options vs prison. These were not by people who like him. Of course, first he needs to be convicted, not be elected again, or have a president that will pardon him.

I watched FAR FROM THE MADDING CROWD yesterday for the first time in over 50 years.

Craig had a recorder in third grade. I think he failed the course as he was not permitted to practice it. Our poor dog would howl everytime he began playing.

Futzed and finessed, wrote three new pages, had chili dogs and having some red licorice. Then I'll watch something, then write more new pages.

The studio was still not heated tonight. It was cold. Cold.
-
It’s already in the 20s tonight and sleeting.

I figured out what I don’t like about First Lie Wins besides it having been ineffectively written. It’s a distaff version of the old series, It Takes a Thief. A thief is blackmailed into undercover work. With the TV shows, charming Robert Wagner made you like him despite being a thief. You don’t like this woman because she’s a thief to begin with. It would work better as a movie with a likable actress.
-
Now watching God Told Me To, an early Larry Cohen movie with an excellent cast and disturbing premise. Tony LoBianco, Sandy Dennis, Sam Levene, Sylvia Sidney and Deborah Raffin. It’s about a cop who deals with killers who kill because God told them to.

Good night, friends.
-
Strange day, overall!
I picked up lunch and it looked absolutely scrummy, but I wasn't hungry when I got it home.
I joined my Zoom chat and, unhappily, I left it after an hour and 15 minutes. Forty minutes of that was a monologue by one guy who cannot say anything briefly. Others seem to be fascinated by his verbal skills, so I thought it best if I skedaddled rather than exhibit impatience or disinterest. This is an ongoing issue for me when this person joins us, and it's usually more of the same dominating verbosity rather than a shared Zoom chat. He's a nice guy, so I think it best if I make myself scarcer.
I turned my attention to my lunch which was even better tasting than it looked... roast pork loin over rice, roasted potatoes and fresh lima beans. I gorged.
I then napped.
I went to Bible study and found it rather stimulating. Will be going again tomorrow and through Wednesday. We are starting on angels and will continue with them tomorrow. Then it's on to satan and demons. I hope it doesn't spur any nightmares.

What's wrong with a high, squeaky baby voice? 8)
It wasn’t squeaky it was sing songy , like she was talking to an infant ALL. THE.TIME.
-
I have checked the weather outlook for my little spot on the map, and it appears that Tuesday will be brutally cold with a low of 8. I do not like the looks of that single digit...not here in the southern part of SC.
Brrrr. Still, I have until Tuesday to hope it decides to give us a miss.

We haven’t gotten any snow although it kept threatening, sky getting dark and a few flurries that immediately disappeared, then blue skies again. But coooold.
-
Went to church as assisting minister working along with a substitute pastor as ours in on a mission trip .
-
Reset afterwards for the 1030 then dropped off communion at one of my homebound parishioners
-
Picked up a breakfast sandwich for Vixdad and dropped that off for him, then back to church to clean up after the 1030 and reset for Misa for our Latino congregants .
( the person that usually does that, our Deacon and Church Administrator was filling in at another church because their pastor was on the same mission trip as ours)
-
Then I delivered communion to my other two homebound parishioners
-
Then off to my moms to help her with some paperwork
-
Then I went to the bank, the gas station and the auto parts store
-
$2.83 a gallon for regular
-
But they wanted $9.00 + tax for the windscreen fluid
-
So I popped down to the auto parts store, literally 1 block away where the same stuff was selling for 2 for $12
-
Then home again home again jiggity jig
-
Then I sorted some laundry and ran the first load .
-
Made a meatloaf and put it in the oven
-
And since it was 330 decided to have breakfast
-
It was a peanut butter and jelly sandwich
-
A traditional, PBJ, on white bread, with creamy peanut butter and grape jelly, as the Good Lord intended.
-
None of this nonsense with jams or other fruit jellies, whole wheat or multigrain bread, or weird nut butters.

Last note on God Told Me To: The movie opens with a sniper shooting people in Manhattan from the top of a water tower. The shooter is Sammy Williams from A Chorus Line.

Good night, all.
-
Anyone remember the newspaper dramatic comic strip, “Apartment 3-G”?
-
“Mary Worth” was another. As a kid I found these a waste of space.
-
I know there was a long history of adventure strips like Little Orphan Annie and Dick Tracy, but trying to present a soap opera in 3 frames a day is such an inefficient way to tell a story.
-
Anyway, I don’t even know what’s in the funny pages anymore.
-
Or the “funnies” as we used to call them.
-
Apartment 3-G ended in 2015.
-
Apparently Mary Worth is still going.

A dentist’s favorite post: #230.
-
“Tooth hurty,” doncha know.
-
Going to dentist tomorrow as luck would have it. Full family dental exam.
-
Requires a large chair.
-
I kid. We all get our own chairs
-
We share floss though.
-
I’m kidding. There’s enough floss to go around.
-
Actually since we last visited, the couple who owned the practice sold it and moved to California, so I have no idea how it will be.
-
Last two dentist practices we frequented were owned by married dentist couples.
-
Must be nice to have a dentist at home. But then you have them at work too.
