Well, you've read the notes, the notes were amused that Muse Margaret was amused, and now it is time for you to post until the amused cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PUNCTUAL!
-
Topic of the Day:
The Nutty Professor is the only movie of Jerry Lewis' that I can specifically remember seeing. I know I've seen some Martin & Lewis films, but I have no idea which ones they were. :-\

Notes obliterated. Obfuscated.

Good morning, friends.
-
Nothing to repor.
-
Didn't watch the Emmys, but recorded them, just in case something outrageous happened.
-
Today, it's back to work.
-
Where have you been living, under a rock?

Do these glasses make me look smart?
-
I was reading my classical music news headline aggregator, and read this: "Royal Ballet Chef Dies."
I looked again; it actually says "Chief."
I was thinking, what would a Ballet Chef do? Put out a few celery sticks?
-
BK, glad that the book writing is going so swimmingly.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept rather well last night. The temperature was around 28 degrees F, I was buried in sheets, quilts, blankets, and three cats who behaved quite nicely and slept together peacefully. I did not want to get up.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Sn*w day.
Won't be a lot, but there's going to be ice mixed in, and possibly freezing rain after, which is always awful.
-
I'm staying in, anyhoo.
I have a simple accompaniment track to make for someone.
Should probably work on some other music, too, but at this point I'm mostly waiting till my second eye is done next week and I can have balanced vision between the two with reading gasses.
-
I have good news on the weather front for Johnston SC. Tonight's low will not get anywhere NEAR 8 degrees. We are getting a warmer 19 degrees for tonight.
Isn't that awesome?
-
Yesterday was a "first day" that has been a long time coming.
Yesterday, I began going through kitchen cabinets and getting rid of things my mom had accumulated but never used and which I never intend to use.
I started with cookbooks and recipes....and there were three full cabinet shelves of books, booklets, clippings, etc. I spent hours going through some of them to weed out stuff I'll never use (like a recipe for "mashed turnips"....YUCK!) and a lot of clippings from newspapers of recipes that tickled her imagination but never got made.
Sadly, I have the same predilection myself...I save a lot of recipes which, on later examination, I know I'll never prepare.
So....three vast cabinet shelves full of stuff piled up and stuffed as far back as she could get it stuffed. Oof. And now it's available to me for things I need it for...getting foodstuffs off countertops and into cabinets.
Throughout the afternoon, I was bending and stretching, reaching and toting, and last night I felt so sore I could barely move. That followed me through the night in that I remained in one sleeping position lest I moved some muscle that didn't want to be moved.
I feel a bit better this morning, and some stretching will be in order before I resume. I have lots of cabinets and closets to go through before anything is completed. My mom threw away NOTHING...but she also did not hoard, so there is THAT to be grateful for. As a child of the depression, she couldn't bear to part with anything that could be of use.
-
In addition to tonight's higher low, the weather guessers are predicting rain for us today while temps are in the 40s. As long as it doesn't snow/sleet, I will be happy.
-
And what is wrong with a bit of snow or sleet?
Apart from the fact that locals have zero experience driving in same, I have a bet with my cousin Debra that it won't snow here this year.
If I win, it's $5 for me. I I lose, it's $5 for her. We began this routine decades ago...and it used to be a lot cheaper. Started with $1.
-
Of course, $5 today won't buy what $1 would buy a few decades ago, so it's a cheap bet at best.
A few decades ago, $1 would buy you anywhere from 3 to 5 gallons of gasoline. $5 today won't buy two gallons.

This gutter level economics lesson brought to you by Stay-Puf Marshmallow Company.

I don't know why.

TOD: I enjoyed some Martin and Lewis films, like "Pardners" and "The Caddy". I seem to recall liking Lewis in "Cinderfella" and "The Nutty Professor".
Lewis films, today, are ones I don't much want to see any longer. I would love to see some of the earlier Martin and Lewis films.
-
It is time I made some coffee and had a repast of some kind.
Farewell "2 guests"!
-
Congrats to DR RON PULLIAM on starting the purge.
There is a great DVD collection of Martin & Lewis that I bought years ago. It has two of my favorites PARDNERS and ARTISTS & MODELS.
-
We got another inch of snow last night.....and it is now 3 degrees.
-
I may do a bit of shoveling and sweeping of the sidewalk. We shall see.
The sun is shining....for what it's worth.
-
We got another inch of snow last night.....and it is now 3 degrees.
I have 22 more degrees than DR Jrand73 has.
But I'm not bragging. We're in the true cold of winter now, for a while.
-
Old man winter....that old man winter..he just keeps sn*wing along.
-
Driveway shoveled.....porch and sidewalk swept...and both cars started.
-
Good morning, all.
-
It’s up to 24. Only going down to 19 tonight.
-
The sun is out. So that’s a plus.

Didn't watch the Emmys, but recorded them, just in case something outrageous happened.

The extras on Walkabout are fascinating. They spoke with the young boy, who was the director’s son, and with Agutter. There’s also a documentary with the man, which I haven’t seen yet.

Thanks. It was nice.

Thanks DR FREDDIE very nice.....even with the flat singing. I hope the piano player had sparkles on his tux shoulders - otherwise he has shiny dandruff.
And Phyllis Carlyle - Jean Ratcliffe's cousin, was there as a manager. Jean finished Frances Farmer's book after Frances died. Phyllis had all of the cassette tapes that Frances had made telling her life story to her ghostwriter Lois Kibbee during the last months of Frances' life.
Phyllis always claimed she had the cassettes in a box under her bed. Next stop: EBAY.

TOD:
As a child I loved Jerry Lewis in everything he did. I need to think about favorites back then. I still love The Nutty Professor, not sure about the others.
-
And I am five pages into the most difficult scene of the play I am writing......I finally figured out a way to start it.
-
The Geisha Boy.
-
You're Never Too Young, until I saw The Major and the Minor with Ginger Rogers & Ray Milland.
-
Rock-a-Bye Baby
-
The Family Jewels
-
And I am five pages into the most difficult scene of the play I am writing......I finally figured out a way to start it.
Good news.

And I am five pages into the most difficult scene of the play I am writing......I finally figured out a way to start it.
That's great!
-
Jrand - "Shiny Dandruff" - That could be the description for someone who thinks their poop [can you say poop on a family site?] doesn't stink, that they think their dandruff shines like diamonds.
Or not.
-
I was not a big Jerry Lewis fan until I saw King of Comedy.
-
Why are we still on page two?
-
This will not do.
-
Not in a zoo.
-
And not on two.
-
Three!
-
Whee!
-
Page 3 - and it's not even 3 pm (Eastern time) yet!
-
Good afternoon.
-
I'm up, I'm up - a bit over eight hours of sleep.
-
I'll futz and finesse as soon as my eyeballs focus. I suspect I'll be removing a few pages from yesterday's writing.
-
We got another inch of snow last night.....and it is now 3 degrees.
Tumwater is up to 32°, but no snow.
-
Fortunately, the temperatures are only expected to get higher. :)

It is 26 degrees here.
-
Fortunately, the temperatures are only expected to get higher. :)
Yes, something to look forward to. First we have to get through the ice storm heading our way.
-
I just took a walk down to the mailbox. We only got around two inches, and it’s walkable but very crunchy.
-
27 here.
-
We didn't plan to go to the gym today, however, I was too restless and needed a walk. Watching a neighbor head out for a walk I said to Keith I would do that since we stayed home. He immediately said we would go to the gym-yay.
-
It is currently 47 cold degrees, but will soon be dropping like the proverbial dying flies you have probably heard about and seen for yourself.
While my Alexa unit says it's sunny outside, it is actually quite cloudy. It looks like it might rain, but rain is no longer in our forecast.
I can tell you this: IT HAD BEST NOT SNOW!
-
DR George, does Blue Lagoon count when they used a stunt double for Brook?
Umm...I guess not. ::)
-
I may have mentioned this morning that I had a "sore-all-over" experience from yesterday's forays into cabinet cleaning.
Well, it has not abated. I have been poky and sore ALL DAY. I'm letting things slide today in hopes of feeling more up-to-it tomorrow.
I am not happy about it, but can imagine things could get much worse if I don't allow some recovery time.
-
It is icy out there.
-
DR George, does Blue Lagoon count when they used a stunt double for Brook?
Umm...I guess not. ::)
They didn't use a stunt double for Christopher Atkins in "The Blue Lagoon", however. And he was a teen.
-
We don't know why the city doesn't plow the road by us.
-
We don't know why the HOA did not plow or shovel inside the complex. Even though we didn't get a lot of snow it is now compacted and icy.
-
Going to the gym getting on the freeway was a wee bit slippery. Other than that the drive was fine.
-
Coming home from the gym we only had issues turning into our complex and driving back to our building, plus we had to be careful driving down the little hill into our garage.

Very nice.
-
I thought it was a beautiful photo of Cindy.
-
One of my neighbors invited me to go over and see her nightmare from the water damage. I guess I will take the trash out, get the mail, and head up to give her my sympathy. Keith said he doesn't want to see it.
-
Be careful DR JANE.
-
Nine degrees here.

This bizarre all-star scene from CHiPs came up in my suggestions yesterday. And features Cindy Williams.

Wow! That's really something!
-
Be careful DR JANE.
Why I didn't walk except a very short distance from the car to the gym. Keith found a good parking spot.
-
OMG, I hope we never have to deal with what the neighbors are dealing with. The water kept up for hours. They were ankle deep in it moving everything out of the way that they could. There place is a complete mess.
-
FOUR!
-
Listening to The Time Traveler’s Wife a second time. It doesn’t improve on repeated headings.
-
Then why are you listening to it again?

Vibes for Jane’s neighbors.
-
Thank you, they need it.
-
Then why are you listening to it again?
To give it a second chance.
-
Got the new Blu and Ray of The Red Balloon from the library. It has an extra short. I think I will watch that tonight.

Thanks for posting the link to the In Memoriam clip, DR Freddie.
-
So sad about your neighbors, DR Jane.
-
What a project, DR Ron Pulliam. I'm sure it's generating a gamut of emotions.
~~~SORENESS ABATEMENT VIBES~~~
-
It's been a busy back-to-work day.
-
Spoke with my mom tonight before her hip replacement surgery tomorrow morning.
-
Are we still on page four?
-
There's a paucity.
-
It's from hunger.
-
PAGE FIVE
-
That's a nice Sondheim haul, DR George.
-
I must hie myself to bed. I have an early morning follow up with the oral surgeon. Expecting a rosy report.
-
Good night, friends.
-
There's a paucity.
Not from where I'm sitting.
-
It's getting colder.
-
Tonight may worse than last night.
-
But tomorrow it goes up to 48.
-
Now watching White Mane, another Albert Lamorisse short.
-
Saving The Red Balloon for last.
-
Good morning!
-
Um, afternoon….
-
Oh, it’s um 1130 pm
-
So hi
-
Yesterdays Vixdad wasn’t out of the dentist until after 1130, by time I got him home and settled it was going on noon
-
I rushed to the office where there were no phone calls, no emails, no mail delivery,etc etc.
-
The boss decided to let everyone go at 1
-
But since I came in so late and had a few things to do, I did them and left a little after 2
-
Then I went to the grocery store since I knew we were low on milk, and amazingly arrived as the dairy guy was reloading the fridge
-
While there I grab five lbs of russet potatoes and a couple of leeks and some chicken stock
-
Then I went home where I scrubbed and baked the potatoes
-
Then I minced up the white bit f the leek and slowly sautéed that in some butter while the potatoes were cooking
-
Once the potatoes were soft I scooped them out if their shells and into the pot with the leeks sliced in a stick of butter and mashed that all up and then added chicken stock until I had a nice thick (but not too thick) soup.
-
Stirred in some Penzeys Foxpoint and sour cream and voilà, dinner!
-
Served with some minced greens from the leek and shredded cheese on top.
-
The finished product
-
Just the ticket for Vixdad who can’t currently chew.
-
There was also was enough left for dinner tonight and a bowl for Vixdad’s lunch tomorrow
-
I don’t know what happened to the rest of the night but suddenly it was today
-
We woke to some snow which we needed to clear off the cars and the deck and the walkway and th3 driveway
-
But fortunately it wasn’t much and it didn’t take too long
-
Then showers and off to the mechanics to leave the van to have my motor mounts and axel stuff done
-
Then Vixdad drove me home and went back to bed while I took his car to work
-
Where I did work stuff all day
-
Somewhere during lunch I Wordled
Then I drove home , collected Vixdad and we drive to the mechanics and collected my van
-
Which will ( hopefully) stay in one piece for the drive to Florida and back
-
OH! I know where the rest of last night went! We talked to Vixter and Vixhubby for a long time
-
They’re all doing well and getting their home all set for the imminent arrival of Vixson
-
Vixter sends her regards to all of you
-
Came home from the mechanics, sat in the recliner, and had an unexpected nap
-
Around 9 I woke, and warmed the soup for patient Vixdad and the now ravenous me.
-
And made some crescent rolls to go along with it .
-
Then I cleaned up the kitchen and here it is, time for me to go back to bed
-
Tomorrow evening, right after work, I am going to meet a British friend who will be landing at JFK tomorrow afternoon.
-
She flies off to North Carolina the next morning so we’ll just have time to a nice dinner catch up and some hugs.
-
My eyes are getting heavy and I’m not sure I can get us to another page
-
I’m sorry about all the ME on this page but I’m the only one in the jernt
-
Oh we watched some Northern Exposure .
-
Vixdad discovered we can watch it on some channel or another so we started it from the pilot / first episode
-
Which I don’t recall seeing before
-
I remember enjoying it when it first aired back in the early 90’s but I’m not sure if it holds up with time
-
Maybe I’m just too tired
-
Oh my goodness , how many more posts until we get to the poor red headed step child page 7?
-
Not beloved of our founder
-
But necessary if we are to ever achieve page eight
-
I however will not be part of the effort to reach said page eight
-
I will leave that task to those who have more time in the day
-
Since I’ve already run out of day
-
And it’s now tomorrow
-
It’s also page seven
-
My work here is done
-
Oh geez, I never properly caught up
-
Oh my goodness! Chas! I am so sorry about your house and the fallen tree!
-
Thank goodness for a good contractor friend
-
Also JohnG, I meant to send you this link for one of those improv dances I was telling you about
https://youtube.com/shorts/FuKqiSFXkpU?si=2H2-mBy5TG9KreeT
-
I will check it out tomorrow, Vixmom. Thank you.
-
Good night, all.
Spoke with my mom tonight before her hip replacement surgery tomorrow morning.
Looks like the tour comes to Vancouver in April, so that’s exciting.
We need gratuitous page eight is what we need.
Damn them, damn them all to HELL.
We're not that far.
But George just sits there like so much fish.
Not writing his Kritzer World review.
No posting.
Just sitting there.
New notes are up.
Up are new notes.
I've seen them.
I've read them.
