Title: SPITTING DISTANCE
Post by: bk on January 21, 2024, 01:10:18 AM
Well, you've read the notes, the notes were within spitting distance of the cows, and now it is time for you to post until the spitting cows come home.

DR JEANNE the Dream-O-Matic 6000 says that your dream indicates you are indeed cleaning up a lot areas of your life - physically & emotionally.

Be aware that not all advice you get is worth listening to - because someone has expertise in one area does not make him an expert on anything else.

I have experienced a strange phenomenon this week.  I think it is weather related.

Every night since Tuesday - I have been in bed watching television and at 8 p.m., I fall asleep.  I wake up at midnight - realize I have missed whatever I planned to watch at 8 p.m.

Sometimes I watch a bit of this or that.....then turn off the tv and go to sleep and wake up every morning at 6 a.m.  Five nights in a row....I think it's weather related.

Hello everyone...today's Broadway Radio Show is the first in what I hope will be an ongoing series called Broadway Flashback where I interview a performer about a forgotten Broadway musical they were a part of.  We kick things off with my friend Ralph Bruneau who played Mike Doonesbury in the musical version of Doonesbury in 1983 by Garry Trudeau and Elizabeth Swados. It was a fun interview as Ralph chats about his early career and then the casting and development of this interesting show.  And since it began airing this morning, I have already received a message from Garry Trudeau himself saying how much he enjoyed listening to the episode!

Nice to see in today’s program:

What was the performance?  Oh, yes!  My Fair Lady! Joshie did the national tour that DR Laura saw. Larry Blank reduced the orchestration even smaller.

That was one of the most beautiful shows I've seen in a long while.

I had to say Nineveh about 80 bazillion times

You need to learn "Not Since Ninevah" from Kismet.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hD-gjWCqF4g

Larry, did you know about this?  It's Kim Criswell in a production of Kismet singing "Not Since Ninevah" (and more!) fabulously:

My Kimmy can do no wrong! I had never seen this footage before. Thanks so much.

You're very welcome!  I'm glad I came across it!  I love Kim Criswell!

And I love this score, especially Rahadlakum (sp?)

I remember seeing that in Broadway

Portland might be next on the list, or Las Vegas. Oklahoma City and Kansas City too. New Orleans… say, I’ve missed some fun cities.
