Well, you've read the notes, the notes were angry twelvefold, and now it is time for you to post until the twelve angry cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: INSOUCIANT!
-
Welcome 221 GUESTS!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
:) How I look upon first waking up:
-
Except perhaps not smiling so much.
-
~~~CONTINUED MULTIPLE MODERN MAJOR MIRACLE VIBES, AND PLENTY OF THEM~~~ for the likes of BK!!!!!
-
DR Ron Pulliam, did you see the VIX caravan wave at you as they drove by?
-
How long before we have TWELVE ANGRY JURORS: THE MUSICAL?
-
Good morning, all!
-
Another frustrating, rather rotten night of sleep.The cats behaved quite well, thank God.
-
I watched the Joan Hickson version of The Sleeping Murder last night. Good cast, including John Moulder Brown of my favorite Hammer film, Vampire Circus, but I wasn't crazy about the heroine. I felt the character women acted rings around her. I'm not sure I bought the too many coincidences.
-
BK, I think there might be a franchise in 12 Angry Jews, much like all the Nunsense spin-offs.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I had an interestingly restless sleep. It wasn’t bad, it just could have been better.
-
Anyway, I have pretty much a ME weekend in front of me.
One thing I’m ready to do is sit down at the plastics and begin reading through a couple of the shows I’ll be playing this year. And part of that will be simply getting familiar with reading the music with reading glasses. When I’m out today I’m going to pick up a second pair with a different magnifying power so I’ll have two to choose from.
-
Already a busy morning. I just turned down (sob!) a job offer, begged for a small loan, and responded to an email from the Annabelle & Thatch publisher. I'm ready for a nap.
-
;)
-
DR ChasSmith, I listened to the track of "Normandy" from the miscast Sarah Jessica Parker recording of Once Upon A Mattress. My two cents is that it's emblematic of that misguided revival: too elaborate vocal arrangement that gets in the way of the lyric, souped up orchestrations. as though we've gone from a simple, funny off-Broadway show to a Hollywood epic.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Not a good night of sleep. My feet were too cold for the first few hours. Kept me partially awake.
-
DR Ron Pulliam, did you see the VIX caravan wave at you as they drove by?
I didn't. Unless someone in that caravan waved at me, and I thought they were flipping me off for driving too slowly.
-
Then when my feet hot warm enough, I had to go winky-tink, as Madeline Kahn would say.
-
Yes, she was the weakest link in that production! Moulder-Brown had very little more to do than be set dressing, I thought, which he did quite well.
-
Then when my feet hot warm enough, I had to go winky-tink, as Madeline Kahn would say.
Was that just "one winky-tinky" as Ernestine the telephone operator might say?
-
I slept appallingly well...it's truly extraordinary lately. I know I dreamed, and the dreams were odd but not disturbing.
That, in itself, is a bit disturbing, but I can live with it.
-
From George:
The MSRP for my car is $172.08!
Your whole car cost only $172.08?
Just one, Ernestine.
-
Let’s end this page.
-
Uno mas.
-
Two!
-
I’d a more muttony sequel: Twelve Angry Ewes.
-
Or maybe a Brooklyn sequel: Twelve Angry Youse.
-
Or one for the Marines: Twelve Angry Crews.
-
Or one for Siamese twins: Twelve Angry Twos.
-
Or a Scottish clan: Twelve Angry Stews.
-
BK, how did your bacon cheeseburger (in the Notes) end up having no bacon? Did you order it that way? Or just a mistake?
-
Or a Scottish clan: Twelve Angry Stews.
A lot of fun. Maybe an anthology series could work!
-
How long before we have TWELVE ANGRY JURORS: THE MUSICAL?
I'd bet someone somewhere has written that jury musical.
-
Maybe waiting for "Twelve Angry Jurors" (or "Twelve Angry Men") to come into public domain.
-
There was of course the off-Broadway show "Old Jews Telling Jokes"
http://www.iobdb.com/Production/5399
Todd Susman was one of the stars of that show off-Broadway, along with Lenny Wolpe and Marilyn Sokol.
-
IIRC, BK has worked with Todd Susman.
-
Or one for the Marines: Twelve Angry Crews.
Or..Twelve Angry Grunts
-
Good morning.
-
TOD, but not really:
I used to work in courtrooms, back when dinosaurs roamed the earth.
One case I remember as being particularly stupid was a divorcing couple who was fighting over EVERYTHING. Including the spices in the cabinet.
Another was a jury trial about someone who allegedly shoplifted a ball-point pen. That's it. His defense was that he was looking at a bag of M&Ms to see if there were red candies in it.
-
I love a good courtroom drama. A few that come to mind:
Witness for the Prosecution
The Verdict
Anatomy of a Murder
Michael Clayton
To Kill a Mockingbird
The Lincoln Lawyer
-
TOD
Witness for the Prosecution
Anatomy of a Murder
Miracle on 34th Street
To Kill a Mockingbird
Where's Papa?
My Favorite Wife
-
Some day our topic should be our juror stories.
-
OMG, yes. A perfect description. Thank you.
-
So, just like that (snapping fingers)...
I am one of those people with the reading glasses on a cord around my neck.
But you know what?
It works.
-
I like the lists of DR JOHN G & DR ELMORE for the TOD.
I am particularly partial to Witness For The Prosecution and Anatomy of a Murder.
-
John Moulder-Brown.
I like The Deep End - but I haven't seen it in many years.
-
DR CHAS SMITH the Dream-O-Matic says that your dreams are guidance dreams.
Certainly any project you are working on will be a success. You also can turn down any help that is offered. You will do best working on your own.
While it is not the best time for a home renovation - something may present itself to you that you will be glad to take advantage of.
I just purchased tickets for my sister Molly and I to go see The Minutes on Sunday, Feb. 4 at the Phoenix Cultural Center.....
Hopefully we will have good weather that day.
-
Hello from.a Cracker Barrel somewhere in Georgia
-
I have no idea where exactly
-
We had about 15 hours (!!) Of sleep last night
-
With a bathroom break somewhere around 1 am
-
And headed out from Lumberton around 8 am
-
We went barreling through SC at mostly close to 80 so I didn't wave at anyone
-
But if you saw a blue blur with NY plates it might have been me
-
Im.not only not caught up, I haven't even read the notes
-
Blasphemy!
-
I have no idea where exactly
LOL. At least you know what state you are in ;)
-
We had about 15 hours (!!) Of sleep last night
WOW!
-
I just purchased tickets for my sister Molly and I to go see The Minutes
Is this a shorter version of THE HOURS?
-
In a church one time where the announcements segment had been growing longer and longer each week, someone stood up and said,
"Our 'moment of concern' has become 'the hour of decision'!"
-
I need to collect my wits.
-
What little I have left.
Glad your trip is progressing, DR vixmom. Thanks for checking in here.
So, just like that (snapping fingers)...
I am one of those people with the reading glasses on a cord around my neck.
But you know what?
It works.
The cord drove me crazy, so I wear them now on top of my head.
Further travel (and good nights' sleep) vibes to vixmom!
-
I need to collect my wits.
I collect dust.
My zoom meeting went well. I now have an arranging student living in California with whom I will meet twice a month.
-
Nap time!
-
That's cool, DR elmore3003. Your knowledge and skills should be passed on!
-
I'm up, I'm up - I don't know, maybe five hours of sleep.
Is this where you’re taking us after you win the lottery?
-
I like Warren William and Mary Astor in the mindbending Perry Mason and the Case of the Howling Dog.
-
.
I wonder if I will ever get back to see my cousin on The Isle of Man.
-
The neighbor children came over to visit this morning, so I pulled out a cake mix and we made a cake and frosting. That kept them busy for a while.
-
But overall, I've been quite lazy today.
-
Is this where you’re taking us after you win the lottery?
Absolutely!
-
Cute quote, DR Laura.
-
I am about to leave for a party celebrating Mozart's birthday.
-
.
-
The DH may attempt Mozart's horn concerto on the baritone. But only after several cocktails have been consumed.
-
What an unseemly start to page four.
-
Why, it's slightly scandalous, even.
Well, you've read the notes, the notes were angry twelvefold, and now it is time for you to post until the twelve angry cows come home.
Thanks for saying something as I hadn't noticed the funny quote.
LOL DR singdaw - far from it.
Destination vibes for DR VIXMOM et al.
Heavy rain here for a couple of hours.
Good evening!
I’m about to leave for a party celebrating Alice’s birthday.
Since my niece's dog is named Dragon I would like to send him a Year of the Dragon bandana. I can't find one large enough-darn.
BK, I think there might be a franchise in 12 Angry Jews, much like all the Nunsense spin-offs.
Well speaking of Nunsense, right now I'm in Centralia about to see Evergreen Playhouse's current production of Almost, Maine (https://evergreenplayhouse.com/events/maine).
-
It was directed by Cass, who played Frieda in Sunday in the Park with George that Jed and I were in last year, and he is also in Almost, Maine! So I'll get to see him tonight!
-
Anyway, Evergreen Playhouse's next show will actually be Nunsense!
And now...showtime!
-
Well, Wolfgang has been appropriately toasted and roasted.
-
My CPAP requires distilled water, which the supermarket has been out of the past two visits. Guess I should head to a pharmacy.
-
I ordered what I thought was a gallon jug of distilled water on Amazon, but it turned out it was demineralized water, which says all over it is NOT for drinking.
-
So I am assuming is also not for ingesting into your lungs.
-
But what do I know.
-
It's a long way to page six.
-
Longer than I can travel.
-
Maybe DR John G. or DR Laura can post a recipe, line by line.
-
That would fill some posts.
-
Good night, friends.
-
Not sure if this has already been posted, but it’s the 1964 television production of Once Upon A Mattress.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uD12-D8Q0o4
-
The first television adaptation of this musical aired June 3, 1964 on CBS. The production was videotaped in black and white in front of a live audience and featured Carol Burnett as Princess Winnifred, Joseph Bova as Prince Dauntless, Jack Gilford as King Sextimus the Silent, and Jane White as the Queen, from the original Broadway cast.
New principals Bill Hayes, well known as Doug on Days of Our Lives, as the Minstrel, Shani Wallis, known to many as Nancy in the 1967 movie Oliver!, as Lady Larken, and Elliott Gould (in his first appearance on any screen) as the Jester were added to the cast.
-
We arrived in Kissimmee around 5
-
By 6 we were happily installed in our unit
-
The kids arrived by 730 and we went out for dinner which was quite nice, even if the venue was a bit too noisy
-
Then we came back for tea and icecream
-
Now they are home and we’re going to bed
-
Good night!
-
Home from dancing. We are working on the line dance to Footloose. It’s very fast, so we are taking our time.
-
Watched a not-great silent Hitchcock film called The Farmer’s Wife. A farmer loses his wife, becomes too horny, tries wooing the village women, all the while not noticing his best match is his housekeeper. The horny farmer was played by an actor who was more repellent than charming.
-
I could have made two posts out of that.
-
But I am fading.
-
First though …
-
A page turn …
-
Six!
-
Good night, all.
-
I ordered what I thought was a gallon jug of distilled water on Amazon, but it turned out it was demineralized water, which says all over it is NOT for drinking.
Weird! I've never heard of demineralized water. Hopefully, you can find distilled water soonly!
-
And the show is over. Almost, Maine (if you've never heard if it...which I hadn't) is about variations of love in eight scenes that all happen in the same 10 minutes. We just see them all one at a time.
-
The town is called Almost because it's an unincorporated area (the play explains it better than I can).
-
But it's a sweet play by John Cariani, and this production was done very well.
-
I can recommend this show if you ever get a chance to see a production.
-
I knew all but three of the actors, so I was able to give my congratulations to all of them afterward. :)
-
And now, to home.
Be back later.
-
Page six???
-
That's fine for the Post but not us.
-
I got into bed at seven-thirty, fell right asleep and had a nice three-and-a-half-hour nap.
-
Topic of the Day (addendum) :
-
Michael Clayton
-
And:
Miracle on 34th Street
-
And:
To Kill a Mockingbird
-
And finally:
Witness for the Prosecution
-
Here's a random image that I came across on Instagram. ;)
Bova and Gould later starred together in the great Cold War thriller “Who?” aka “Roboman” with Trevor Howard.
-
Did anyone mention My Cousin Vinny for TOD?
-
“Trial & Error” with Jeff Daniels and Michael Richards was mildly entertaining.
-
The Rainmaker with Danny DeVito.
-
Loved the court scene in “What’s Up Doc?”
-
Oddly, Austin Pendleton was in three of the films I just mentioned.
-
Glad vixmom made it to her destination of delight.
-
Loved the court scene in “What’s Up Doc?”
That was so funny! :))
-
And without getting pulled over, a la the kids in My Cousin Vinny.
-
I’ve served on a jury twice.
-
You ever serve, G?
-
Once in Brooklyn, once in Delaware.
-
Page 7, oh bittersweet page!
-
You ever serve, G?
No. Only once did I have to go to the courthouse, but for that particular case, there was some kind of delay that released all of us before any questions were asked.
-
Otherwise, I've only gotten notice two other times. The first if those two times, I had to call back the next day, and then when I called again, I was released.
-
The second time I had to call, I was able to delay my notice for a month, and when I called back after the delay, I was told I was done. :)
-
And that's it. Those were the only times I was contacted to serve on a jury.
-
Another time in Manhattan, I didn’t get on a jury but went the full three days to wait to possibly get called. Met a lady who was the dresser for Broadway’s “Wicked.” We hit it off a bit, went on a date. I wasn’t feeling the chemistry.
Later I briefly dated a replacement Elphaba. Better chemistry, but it didn’t work out either. After that, I vowed never again to date anyone involved with “Wicked.”
-
A vow that has served me well.
-
Chicken noodle soup on a hot dog doesn’t sound that bad to me.
-
I guess you gotta have some standards. ::)
;)
-
I mean, you’d need to leave out a lot of the soupy part of the soup.
-
Chicken noodle soup on a hot dog doesn’t sound that bad to me.
Wouldn't it have been easier to just add a hot dog to some chicken noodle soup? :-\
-
And make garlic bread out of the bun?
-
Now you’re talkin’!
-
But that’s like saying “chili dog? why not just add a hot dog to some chili?” Not the same thing.
-
Both times I served, the verdict was Not Guilty.
-
Both times, I think the person was probably guilty, but the case was pretty weak.
-
Or so thought my peers and I.
-
Page 8 is within reach
-
It would require just a modicum of chatter.
-
Just a soupçon of discussion.
-
Just a wisp of discourse.
-
A touch of class.
-
If this is page seven, I do not care for it.
-
Starring George Segal and Glenda Jackson.
-
New notes are almost finished.
-
Almost, but quite.
This WAS page 7
-
George has disappeared.
-
But now it is not.
But Rodzinski saves the damn day.
Now it is 8
I'd pay to see that!
Found this comment on a YouTube “Spaceship” VHS trailer clip:
My Pawpaw bought this for me as a gift from Smith's Country Store in the mid 90s. He knew I was a big sci-fi nerd (still am) and he thought it was a serious sci-fi movie. The VHS tape was titled "Spaceship" and had a model kit spaceship on the cover. The first weekend I had with him I watched it thinking it was a serious movie. I then discover it was a comedy but still liked it.
Nowadays whenever I think of this movie, I remember my Pawpaw. May he rest in peace.
-
Ought to warm your heart, BK.
-
Touching lives all the way to Smith’s Country Store.
