Well, you've read the notes, the notes led three lives, and now it is time for you to post until the three live cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: MAFFICK!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
.
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
Good morning, all!
-
DR Slingshot, what are you doing up at 3:00a.m.?
-
I slept rather well. The alarm rang at 6:00 this morning since I must be out and about today. Around 9:15 I will (hopefully) walk to my barber for a long overdue haircut. At 10:15 or thereabouts, Access-a-Ride will drive me to my bank to deposit a much-needed check. If Ann and Jen were here, I'd ask Jen to make the deposit when she walks Oscar. Here and Jen and Oscar!
-
Yesterday afternoon, my left leg did not want to support me. This morning it seems okay, so I'm hoping it works long enough to finish my errands. If not, I'll call Mario, my helper from last summer, and see if he's free today.
-
My family watched I Led Three Lives weekly. At the time, I knew nothing about the McCarthy-HUAC reign of terror. I now find everything about the program loathsome. I had an uncle who was a Japanese POW who ended up in the notorious Bataan death march. When he was released, whatever mind he had was more like scrambled eggs. I was too young to know his situation or sympathize with his mental health, but he was an avid pro-McCarthy fanatic, always handing out rotten, disgusting pamphlets on how Roosevelt conspired with the Jews to destroy America, there was a communist under every bed, and so on. I'd guess that today he;d be a huge MAGA Moron.

DR Slingshot, what are you doing up at 3:00a.m.?
Nothing good, I assure you.
-
And now that I am up (again), I find I have nothing worthy to contribute. I don't know how DR Jane functions on so little sleep.
-
Good morning, all.
-
George, those were not raisins. They were dried cherries. Silly boy.
-
Oscar is a cutie.
-
Well Ms. Artistic Director has read my play and just asked that a couple of things that confused her be fleshed out a bit.....and then she says we'll have a reading....
So I will work on the flesh this weekend.
-
I watched a couple of college basketball games last night. Entertaining for the most part.
I of course have a different way of rating the teams than does the NCAA.
I pick a favorite player from each team and mostly watch him play. The player is chosen by the LBH factor......Legs, Backside, Hair.
-
Now I am off to WalMart to get a few things.
Before I start fleshing out things.
-
That is promising, DR Jrand73.
-
Well, about the play, I mean.
-
And the legs, too, I suppose.
-
Not necessarily in that order.
-
Many people don't realize that the original song cut from Ballroom was entitled "Who Gave You Persimmons?"
-
George, those were not raisins. They were dried cherries. Silly boy.
Oh! Then bring 'em on! :D

That sounds encouraging, Jrand.

~~~CONINUED MODERN MAJOR MIRACLE VIBES~~~ for BK!!!!!
-
Good morning, all.
-
I slept pretty well, but in the end, I still woke up way too early. That seems to be the norm these days.
-
Today I am back to Drowsy.
-
And we're going to reach 50 degrees today and tomorrow, peaking at 55 on Saturday.
There could be some weather moving in on Monday or Tuesday, but again it's quite likely that we'll just get rain around here.
-
I slept pretty well, but in the end, I still woke up way too early. That seems to be the norm these days.
Same!
-
I love DROWSY......
-
Thanks DR singdaw & DR GEORGE.....yes it would be nice to hear it spoken.
I just realized I will be doing more F'ing to the play.....a different one.
-
Thursday morning greetings! There is nothing on my calendar today - no meetings, no appointments, no maintenance work on our house (that we know of).
-
How is it Thursday already?
Only 2 more days before we have to drive away
-
BTW DR Iris you were correct about Vixson.
Wonderful vixson reports, vixmom!
-
I had every intention of going to Sam's Club this morning.
I went to bed at 11 p.m. just so I'd be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed to drive to Aiken and get there just after the store opens (10 a.m.).
When I awakened at 6:15 a.m., it suddenly occurred to me that this is Thursday that it's MORE than that....it's CUBED STEAK THURSDAY at the Triangle Restaurant. I LOVE their cubed steak.
Instead of getting up and doing ablutions, I crawled back under the covers and slept until 10 a.m.
I am a slug-a-bed!
Dreamed terrific (and forgotten) dreams.
And it's nearly 11 a.m. now, and that is when the Triangle starts serving!
-
Of course, I may yet do an afternoon excursion to Aiken and Sam's Club.
Otherwise, it can wait until next week.
-
I received a phone call yesterday evening from Ms. Nellie Gunter inviting me to a Seniors Luncheon at the First Baptist Church on February 14th.
It is not a pot-luck, either. Food is being provided by the Seniors Fund.
I am free (as of now) of any and all engagements, be they medical, familial or otherwise.
I look forward to it!
-
How is it Thursday already?
EXACTLY! How??? Yesterday seemed like Sunday.
-
And DR slapjaw has one post today in which his only comment was an "."
That is a full-on period.
And later, he said he had nothing more to say.
Harrumph!
He could, at least, have said "?"
-
Tonight, I have to make sure I remember to not park my car in my garage.
-
Well Ms. Artistic Director has read my play and just asked that a couple of things that confused her be fleshed out a bit.....and then she says we'll have a reading....
So I will work on the flesh this weekend.
What good news!
-
Cube steak vibes for DR RON PULLIAM.
-
I don't think I ever saw I Led Three Lives.....
-
Errands completed and I didn't die during the ordeal. My legs, however, are giving out for the day. I had a good time, and I no longer look like a pathetic Bozo the Clown, thanks to the barber.
I did notice, looking at the mirrir I was facing, that what little hair I have is white, and I have several deep wrinkles in my face. Oy!
It is going to be very hard to leave.
-
Tonight, I have to make sure I remember to not park my car in my garage.
Make sure you lock it.
-
Fortunately I had a decent night of sleep and was up early for my dermatologist appointment. The spot I am concerned about is probably a skin cancer. I'll know within two weeks. She sprayed another spot of concern. After what she said I wish it too had been biopsied. With luck the spray will take care of it, if not it will be biopsied at a later date.
-
Wishes for good health news, Jane.
Tonight, I have to make sure I remember to not park my car in my garage.
We got notice that Puget Sound Energy will be turning off the power at 7:00 pm, until sometime in the morning, and my electric garage door opener won't work without electricity, nor do I want to open it manually. ::)
-
So no fridge/freezer opening, either.
-
Wishes for good health news, Jane.
Thank you.
That's definitely become a habit, even when I park my car in my garage.
There was an article (I think the Times) on Girl Scout cookies going up from $5 to $7.
I am paying $6.00 this year.
Wishes for good health news, Jane.
~~~Super Ditto!!~~~

Thank you George.

At the moment I still can't feel where the biopsy was done. Once it begins to hurt sitting at the computer might be an issue as the spot is on the back of my thigh.
-
We are off to the gym.
-
Bread pudding has been consumed. People loved it. But I still have to wash the dish.
-
How rude, I know.
-
Food distributed. It went quickly this morning.
-
I did notice, looking at the mirrir I was facing, that what little hair I have is white, and I have several deep wrinkles in my face. Oy!
Throw that mirror out and get a new one. They go bad after a while. Believe me, I know.
I've got one that, I swear, I looked into the other day and got a glimpse of my grandmother's face. If that doesn't indicate a defective mirror, I don't know what does.

DR ELMORE & DR CHAS SMITH that happens to all of us when we get into our late 30's.

I am done with first f'ing.......but figuring out how to incorporate the second f'ing is difficult.
However, I do agree that is it necessary.

Is the reading pretty much a sure thing?

THE MIRROR HAS TWO CHINS - That's the name of the Dept. of Health report on becoming elderly.

That was a silly post, but at least it gets us closer to page 4.

Page 4 looks so close

that it feels like we're almost there

I think just one more post

Goddamned fucking Amazon! They've changed their Customer Service page and I can no longer find the link to have them call me. I had two packages delivered today. There's even a photo of them sitting at the foot of the door. Only one problem: that is not my door. Clearly, they have a dyslexic or mentally challenged delivery person and I want to know where the fay hell my packages are!
-
Yes, Amazon has made it almost impossible to find the link. I finally had to use the chat bot and just kept typing I want a phone call.
-
I'm up, I'm up - six hours of sleep.
-
I came here to post that at nine-thirty, then got waylaid trying to set up this Faculty interview - which now happens next Tuesday.
-
I had Panda Express for food.
-
Why not?
-
Good for Jrand and his play.
-
Yes, Amazon has made it almost impossible to find the link. I finally had to use the chat bot and just kept typing I want a phone call.
I finally got the page to call me, and what do I get? An automated voice telling me the package was delivered!
-
I had Panda Express for food.
I had Chinese food as well from New Kam Lai.
-
HA! Thanks MR BK.....DR FREDDIE I would guess a reading is in the future since it was offered.
The good thing is after contemplating doing some figuring - I have decided how to do the additional f'ing - and it will improve the play!
-
That's great, Jrand!
-
And now my cell phone's battery will not charge. Shit.
-
Long but productive day.
-
Long night ahead.
-
I forgot to ask for a phone number in case I was disconected while being transferred. Of course I was disconnected. Stupid!
-
Now they are closed which might be why my call was dropped.
-
I was only on hold, prior to the transfer, for half an hour.

We didn’t see the kids today.
We thought they could use a down day and they’ve been very generous with their time
-
So instead we went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast
-
Then we took my van to the car wash with the free vacuum, so now it’s nice and clean inside and out for my drive home
-
We washed Vixdad’s car there last week
-
Then we went to Celebration and had some Kilwins ice cream while sitting at a table. Out on the sidewalk.
-
Across the street were children playing in the interactive sidewalk fountain
-
And aroun us were birds begging for bits of waffle cone
-

Vixdad is going to put up some shelves for the kids tomorrow

Interesting. I expected Indiana to be lower than NY. I also expected LA to be higher than Indiana, yet they were both $6.00. I think you lucked out with $5.00.
Remember when you shipped all of your cookies? Now you order online and they ship the cookies.

I’m going to prepare a full English breakfast for us all

I couldn't find a way to contact Amazon about that tv wall mount that mysteriously arrived. You can only contact them about orders you've placed, and this was one I hadn't placed. So I got rid of it. I hope they won't come looking to get it back in the future.

Hello, fellow humans.
-
Was watching some YouTube clips of Murder By Death earlier. When I was a kid I thought Murder By Death was one of the funniest movies I ever saw. Seemed like a classic my whole family enjoyed every time it was on movie of the week. Seems like it is not celebrated on the level of, say, Mel Brooks movies, but I think it holds up well. Great cast.
-
Here’s a nice Murder By Death behind-the-scenes featurette.

Robert Moore only directed 3 Neil Simon features, but he did a lot of TV and stage stuff. Died of AIDS in 1984.
-
He directed the similar less-successful follow-up The Cheap Detective. And Chapter Two.
-
Also a TV movie I watched decades ago called Thursday’s Game with Gene Wilder and Bob Newhart. One of them, I forget which, invents men’s pants with the fly on the outside. That’s about all I recall.
-
Now we are in the final hour of contiguous America’s day.
-
I do not live in contiguous America, but I am in one of its time zones.

And now…
