Well, you've read the notes, the notes had adventures, and now it is time for you to post until the adventurous cows come home.

And the word of the day is: BOUQUET!

Good morning, all!
-
I had a terrible night. Around 2:30 I woke, feeling queasy, and headed to the bathroom where I was violently sick. I had terrible cramps on the left side of my body. I went back to bed around 3:15, only to crawl back to the bathroom about 10 minutes later where I had dry heaves for the next3o minutes. I finally decided that I'd rather be found dead in my bed than on the toilet and went back to bed. Since my cell phone is now officially dead, I turned on my laptop and saw t was just past 4:00. My abdomen feels as if someone gave he several hard kicks, and I will take it easy today.

Robert Moore directed the OBC casts of Promises, Promises, They're Playing Our Song, and Woman of the Year.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Sounds like a classic case of food poisoning, or, as we used to call it, “stomach flu” (even though there’s apparently no such thing), DR Elmore.
-
I will have to check out Murder By Death.
-
Friday. And a day with no rehearsal. Nice.

Who decides these things?

Misha wants to play the lead in The Little Mermaid.
-
If Misha doesn't get the lead, she'll be mad.
-
Interestingly, although the Ellington/Strayhorn Nutcracker may never have been issued in good sound on CD, it IS available on iTunes in an "expanded" edition.
-
Seiji Ozawa, dead at 88.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Sad news about Ozawa. Got to see him conduct a number of times.always good.
-
Interestingly, although the Ellington/Strayhorn Nutcracker may never have been issued in good sound on CD, it IS available on iTunes in an "expanded" edition.
OK, it turns out the "expanded" part is non-Tchaikovsky stuff.
-
Had weird dreams about being assigned duties with carrots. I also severed a thumb somewhere in the dream, but it seems to have grown back.
-
Sad news about Ozawa. Got to see him conduct a number of times.always good.
I love that he and Bernstein spent considerable energy on mentoring young up-and-coming conductors.
-
TOD
Probably some Hitchcock
-
Assigned Duties with Carrots should be the title of something-or-other.
-
Has anyone ever tried a carrot dog? They're supposed to mimic hot dogs.
-
Notes studied. Crammed.
-
Remember the concept of “cramming” for a test?
-
Sad news about Ozawa. Got to see him conduct a number of times.always good.
I love that he and Bernstein spent considerable energy on mentoring young up-and-coming conductors.
Bernstein spent a lot of energy on young conductors.
-
HA! Many folks wanted to work under him.
-
Or so it is said.

Vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
About 2 a.m. I got sick, too.
So I had to do a lot of cleanup this morning.
Ugh. Still feeling a bit dauncey.
-
DR VIXMOM yesterday as I was going to WalMart, a green van pulled up to a stop sign. It was on the street where I was turning right.
As I passed it, I looked the driver. She looked just like YOU - the same glasses and hairstyle as your avatar! I slowed down as I turned and we nodded to each other.
When I looked in the rear view mirror, the van was gone. If a cream colored PT Cruiser drove by you slowly yesterday, we obviously went through the portal.
-
I am always being left out!
I had a wonderful night's sleep and did not get sick at all!
Of course, that means that if we all lived together, I'd be the one cleaning up the mess, taking temperatures, spoon-feeding you soup or broth and fluffing your pillows.
As delightfully dreary as that sounds, NO THANKS!
-
But I do sympathize and offer you virtual support.
-
I watched a motion picture last night that is up for some Oscars!
That movie is "The Holdovers". Paul Giamatti is a delight as is Da Vine Joy Randolph.
Will they win the Oscars? They could. I will say that Giamatti has a chance, but I haven't yet seen "Maestro" and "Oppenheimer", both of which are on this weekend's "to watch" agenda.
I can say, without any apology, that I think Barry Keoghan's performance in "Saltburn" was woefully overlooked by the Academy.
His youth may be in his way, but my gosh the man is gifted as an actor.
I loved Randolph's "Mary", but Rosamund Pike's "Elspeth" was equally worthy of a nomination.
I think I'll add "Nyad" to my agenda this weekend, as well.
-
I did not venture into Aiken yesterday.
I may do it today, although I may not.
I am out of ice cream.
That is NEVER a good thing.

The time-space continuum works in mysterious ways.
-
Ah-HAH!
I have just remembered the "other" thing that will take me to Aiken...and today.
Yesterday, I was craving a deli-style "hot pastrami sandwich".
Only Johnston isn't the hub of anything more exotic than hamburgers and an occasional pimiento cheese on toast.
Googling, I found a deli on University Parkway in Aiken, plus there is a Jimmy John's next door to The Fresh Market.
I have never been to either the deli or Jimmy John's. I will investigate before I venture out.

Bernstein spent a lot of energy on young conductors.
LOL! And some of them, like John Mauceri, continue the trend.
-
HA! Many folks wanted to work under him.
My comment was snarky. I know too much about the aforementioned.

About 2 a.m. I got sick, too.

Ugh. Still feeling a bit dauncey.
I know you didn't catch it from me! Feel better.
-
My fingers have walked. Jimmy John's is an alternative to Subway. We HAVE a Subway in Edgefield, but don't want a sub.
But..GROUCHO's DELI is in Aiken and a stone's throw from Sam's Club.
Oh, Joy! Oh, Rapture!
And they had pictures of their sammiches. I'm going to be torn. I love Reubens, and theirs looks as yummy as their pastrami.
I may get both and have one for tomorow!!
-
I realized I cannot schedule an Access-a-Ride trip to Verizon on Sunday morning to buy a new cell phone since AAR cannot contact me on my old cell phone. Taxi it is!

Got the area around the birdcage cleaned up. That’s all I can do today.

Thank you DR Ginny. I doubt it is series, just an early skin cancer that needs to be cut out.
-
Our dermatologist in Ashland usually cut out what looked like cancer to her, then if it was would tell me if the margins were clear or if I needed to return for more to be removed. Here I always have to return if the biopsy is positive.
-
Thank you DR Iris.

.
Number 3 & 4 seem odd to me.

It seems saying today is National no one eats alone day will make those who eat alone sad.

Of course eating alone doesn't have to be lonely, and it can be less lonely than eating with a group of people one prefers not to be around.

Can anyone teach me to use Venmo?
-
My arranging student canceled tomorrow, so I can hit Verizon a day early.
-
I’ve used Venmo all of twice - or has it been thrice? - and I still don’t have the hang of it. It’s like learning it again each time.

Sadly, yes.
I have often wondered what the conversations were like when any of these conductors got together. Imagine the books the flies on the walls could have written!

Ditto. I've only used it a couple of times. Good luck, Larry!
-
Good news on your deliveries, DR elmore3003.
-
I think I've only used Venmo once.
-
If you're sending money, I think you just need the "handle" of the person you're sending to.
-
And likewise, if someone is sending to you, I think they just need your username.
-
But don't quote me on that.
-
DR Jrand73 does NOT accept Venmo.
-
From what I hear.
-
However, he may accept Vrbo.
-
If you want to send him a vacation rental.

Don't I need to sign up my bank first?

But don't quote me on that.
Some guy just called from the Washington Post. I tried be helpful by giving him as much information as I could.
And NOW you tell us? I suppose I wasn't supposed to give him your real name, either?

I looked over the Venmo site. It's a part of Paypal.
-
Some of these morons posting about classical musicals on Facebook make my brain hurt. I just answered rather harshly a person who clearly knew the movie version and knew nothing about the original show and the changes made for the film.
-
Mission accomplished!
I got my ice cream AND my two sammiches. I ate the Reuben for lunch as it was already hot and ready.
The pastrami will be toasted at some point tomorrow for my lunch.
Tonight, I join my cousin Butch and his fiancee Sharon for dinner at the club.

Have we on HHW discussed the brand new commercial for Jardiance?
Jardiance 2024 ad
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMHMU0YPFEc
But they still rhyme "easy to see" with "A1C" - no one cared that it's an identity rather than a rhyme?
-
This was the 2023 Jardiance commercial for reference.

I hate this commercial...and its successor!!!

There is also one other commercial that gets on my last nerve:

It was cute only the first time I saw it, but it has aired every hour on the hour on TV today.

The Steve Miller Band certainly could make that rhyme work.
-
Bruce & Jeanne did either of you feel the earthquake?
-
Just read that Spike Lee and Denzel Washington will remake High and Low, one of my all-time favorite movies. The chutzpah of this is beyond belief.
-
Called Muse Margaret earlier but got voicemail. I'll try again in an hour.
-
Made penne with pink sauce - very good.
-
Yum.

Bruce & Jeanne did either of you feel the earthquake?
When was the earthquake?
Hope everyone's OK!
-
It was at 1:47pm and everyone is fine. It was only 4.6.
-
I had a laugh over one person saying her neighbor ran outside screaming and she didn't feel it.

Bruce might have felt it, probably not Jeanne.

Maybe DR Jeanne did feel the earthquake. I just read a FB friend in Manhattan Beach felt it.
-
Oh yes, rolled and then jolted and was quite strong here.
-
Is everything Ok in your home?
-
Oh yes, rolled and then jolted and was quite strong here.
What others who felt it had to say.

Yes, DR elmore3003, there is a sign up where you connect a bank account, just like PayPal.

I thought you meant what happens after that.

Good night, all.

My dinner was exceptional this evening!!!
I had a 10-ounce rib eye, medium rare, with a baked potato and broccoli. The baked potato was loaded with butter and sour cream, too! It was so scrummy, I did not leave a single scrap on my plate.
Conversation was wonderful, too! Had a great time.
-
Of course, all good things must come to an end.
I returned home faced with giving myself not only my weekly Trulicity injection (for my A1C) and my daily insulin injection, but I also had to give myself my first self-administered Dupixent injection.
I watched a video, did all that was directed, and then gave myself the injection. Surprisingly, it did not sting like the first two shots I got two weeks ago in the backs of each arm. This time, I injected into my upper right thigh. My trick was to numb the area with an ice pack first, and that seemed to be the best way to experience the injection as I only started feeling anything after the injection was over. I still have a small lump on my thigh, but it is much diminished from what it was.
I can do this every two weeks, I feel sure.
-
I was watching "True Detective: Night Country" episode four while doing my injections.
-
Yes, nothing fell or even moved.
-
When discussing Jardiance, could you rhyme its name with nuisance?
The Steve Miller Band certainly could make that rhyme work.
