Well, you've read the notes, the notes did not name the photos but I did, and now it is time for you to post until the photographed cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: FRENETIC!
-
BK, your mention of the chocolate cream pie reminded me that I have a couple of pieces of of Costco's Tuxedo cake in my fridge. I'll definitely have to consume them soonly. I've had them for a little while and I don't want them to go to waste. :)
-
Topic of the Day:
Apple
Chocolate cream
Banana cream
Coconut cream
Peach
Pecan
Pumpkin (I used to have a recipe for a no-bake, cook-on-the-stove, layered pumpkin pie that was really good)
-
And an honorable mention goes to:
Boston cream ;)
-
I know that there are more, but that's all I can think of now.

Good morning, friends.
-
DR George, thanks for the great theatrical rarities links last night.
-
And speaking of rarities, how rare it is to find a cat in its original packaging!
-
Good morning, all!
-
.
-
Who decides these things?
-
I had a terrible night; I don't think I slept more than four hours. Around 5:00 I was sick, and when I got to the bathroom I discovered that one of the cats - Stella, maybe? - has another round of diarrhea. I am a bit concerned.
-
I can barely move my legs, so I'm taking it easy today, mostly tallying up tax receipts.
-
Good morning
-
I must bring Vixdad to the mechanic and I have a closing this morning.

But first a Wordle

Boy, BK, they sure dumped on you over Dr Doolittle, a movie I've never seen nor cared to since I had never cared about the books. At least two of your three attackers have you on their friends lists. I think you should block them.
-
Today is the seventeenth anniversary of my father's death. I miss him enormously.
-
Good morning, all.
-
And...I'm back at it today.
No snowstorm, so we're back at rehearsal (student orchestra for Drowsy), and I've got something nice to read. I wonder what it is! :)

Looks like we got about 7" of s*** yesterday.

You know. The white stuff.
-
Not H.R. Puffnstuff.

I wonder what the H. R. stands for?

If it were R.H., it could mean Right Honorable.

But it isn't.

And it doesn't.

How precious to have another glimpse of the magic that was Rebecca Luker on stage.

A rare shot of Beethoven receiving a bouquet after a performance:

Boy, did I have the weirdest dream, and it was a twist on one of my regular ones.
In this dream I most commonly find I've been off someplace for several days with a group of people (usually fellow music students but sometimes coworkers from later in life), and it's time to gather our things and return home. The gathering of the belongings is always a central issue and source of a feeling of urgency.
So in last night's (or rather, this morning's) dream, we were about to LEAVE on an extended trip, and thanks to a few details I can at least identify this trip as having originated with the extended sailing trip I took with friends in 1980. Some of the things I was trying to sort out to take were silly, but I can at least say where the idea comes from.
Crazy, no?
-
I'll look for that Dr. Dolittle thing. Holy moly.
-
Anyhoo, I've got a lot on my plate and must get moving. Back later to finish ketchuping and all.
-
TOD:
No one has yet mentioned Strawberry Rhubarb.
-
I don't bake pies. Pie crusts scare me.
-
Good morning, DR Laura.
-
Doctor Doolittle is a hill someone wants to die on?? (Or attack others on?) Not saying it’s not ok to like it but to get mad that someone else doesn’t? It was a known bloated snoozer. I’ve read Richard Fleischer’s bio. He didn’t even like it. Great stories of how nightmarish it was to make though.
-
Good morning, DR Rodzinski.
-
Good morning.
-
I had a weird dream also. We were looking for a house for our filming (?). I chose the simplest house. The strangest was a house with a kitchen that had a full buffet setup. Behind the buffet were the pools for the lobsters, the alligators, and the sharks.
-
Wild!
-
Good morning, all.
-
TOD: I like pie. I used to make pies. It was always my usual church potluck item. I don't know why I quit making pies.
In recent years, the only one I made was for Thanksgiving. I started buying them, because the bakery ones taste the same, and it was one less thing I had to cook.
-
I like to keep my alligators and sharks in separate pools. The lobsters I like to keep near me.
-
My favorite is pecan pie, which no one else in the family likes.
-
TOD:
Lemon pie
Chocolate pie
Chocolate Chess pie
Coconut pie
Sweet Potato pie
Cherry pie
Strawberry pie
Blackberry pie
Pecan pie
Banana pudding
Peach cobbler
Cherry cobbler
Blackberry cobbler
Custard pie
If I left any out, it's becaue I am not yet fully awake.
-
They were in separate pools. I fell into the alligator tank. Luckily I got out.
-
"Dr. Dolittle" has its ups and downs. It has a gorgeous score, I think.
The film is exquisitely photographed, has wonderful art direction and seems to have had honorable intentions.
But it's quite a chore to watch because there is so much wrong with it, as well.
Don't get me started on the Pink Snail.
-
I slept exceedingly well. And, since it's only just after nine a.m., I did not sleep excessively. I went to bed a little after midnight.
-
TOD
I am with Vixmom. Rarely met a pie I didn't like.
Rhubarb
Cherry
Rhubarb - cherry
Nantucket cranberry
German chocolate
Key lime
Lime chess
Grapefruit meringue
Blueberry
Peach
Osgood
Texas Trash
Apple pecan
-
TOD Redux:
I have made chocolate, chocolate chess, sweet potato and lemon pies for myself.
I have attempted pecan pie, but never got near what my mom and my Aunt Doris could do with one. It was so challenging that I'd rather just buy one.
-
I see that it is Thursday...already.
Stands to reason since yesterday was Wednesday, but still...
-
I slept exceedingly well. And, since it's only just after nine a.m., I did not sleep excessively. I went to bed a little after midnight.
That sounds really good!

I will have to think of savory pies later.

Laura, that dream felt scary just reading about it.

Interesting dream. Thanks for sharing that, Chas.

singdaw, I saw this bit of Pufnstuf trivia on Wikipedia.
"The show's theme song, titled "H. R. Pufnstuf", was written by Les Szarvas but is also credited to Paul Simon. Simon's credit was added when he successfully sued The Kroffts, claiming that the theme too closely mimicked his song "The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy)" "

Which now that I think about it - it does.

I enjoyed reading DR RON PULLIAM's thoughts on Maestro.....perhaps it will show up on one of the services I can access one day soon.

There is a cat on Instagram, Elie the Hallway Cat, I dearly love. She lives in an NYC apartment and spends her time running around the hall of whatever floor she lives on and flirting with the boys who live down the hall. I cannot get enough of her videos.

It's on Netflix.

Interesting... thanks, DR Freddie.
-
Apple, pumpkin, and various berry pies would be at the top of my list, along with key lime, banana cream, and one I've longed for for probably forty years or more: the raisin pie (or was it sour cream & raisin?) at House of Pies.
I do not go for lemon meringue (including meringue on anything, really), coconut cream (except for the cream part), and - I thought I had another unfavorite to name, so maybe it'll come to me later.
-

I do. Fruit flavors.

Four!

I just read up on diarrhea on Catster.com and ordered a recommended Blue Buffalo dry cat food for sensitive stomach.
-
Are you going to have all three eat it, DR elmore3003? It seems like it would be pretty hard to isolate one cat for eating.

Glazed raspberry cheesecake swirl buns.

Not pie, but I'd still take it.

Thanks DR Freddie.

DR George I have almost returned the wrong book early but noticed just in time. I really want to know how this book ends. At least I didn't do it with a book I needed to finish for my book group.

DR Rodzinski I looked up Ladner, BC. It seems to be a charming little town.

DR George the snow was very pretty last night.

Last night Luka Garza got to play in the last few minutes of the Timberwolves game.

I love having access to my online medical charts. This morning the results were available to see the results of my biopsy. I wonder how long it will take for them to call me for my follow-up visit. I also wonder which method of treatment they will recommend.
-
Savory pies are largely pot pies in my book:
Chicken pot pie
Lobster pot pie
Mushroom pot pie
Crawfish pie
Crab quiche
Spanakopita
Shepherd's pie
Tamale pie
Honorary mention:
Frito pie, which ain't pie at all

I wish I didn't have to wait so long before getting it removed. Not that I am concerned about the cancer, just that it is so very uncomfortable and then I will have to begin the long healing process all over again.

I certainly remember Shasta cola
-
I'm up, I'm up - maybe five hours of sleep - horrible night, up at five and not back to bed until nine or ten.
-
Shasta Black Cherry.

I watched about an hour of that ludicrous and offensive Fani Willis nonsense. The defense lawyer is right out of the Alina Habba school - badgering witnesses constantly and a judge who doesn't stop her.

I'm now procrastinating putting away the large grocery run.

I see that Criterion is going to rerelease Peeping Tom. Haven’t seen that in years.

-
I'm doing a little research to see if she would have seen the original or the mid-70's revival.
-
Wow - didn't realize it only ran 2 months.

She had to have seen the 1974 Hal Prince revival.
-

-
Barely page six, but it's way past my bedtime.
-
Good night, friends.
-
She had to have seen the 1974 Hal Prince revival.
Had she lived in New York during the original run? Given that it closed quickly, it might not have been hard to get tickets.
-
DR George I have almost returned the wrong book early but noticed just in time. I really want to know how this book ends. At least I didn't do it with a book I needed to finish for my book group.
So, does it have holds that prevent you from just getting it again?
-
If you haven't tried already, have you looked at other libraries to see if one might have fewer holds?

DR George the snow was very pretty last night.
It was. It hasn't snowed again, though, and most of it is off the roads, so that's good.
