Well, you've read the notes, the notes were posted on Sunday, a fun day, and now it is time for you to post until the fun day cows come home.

~~~CONTINUED MODERN MAJOR MIRACLE VIBES~~~ for the likes of BK!!!!!!
-
Good morning, all.
Odd dreams of being Charley Kringas in Merrily and having to write specialty lyrics for a woman with a one-inch waist. Also involved in wardrobe.
-
I think I want to learn the six-veil polka.
-
Here’s Doris Day with a magnificent Jule Styne polka to get your day started:
I use it in class a lot because it’s on the slower side.
We’re playing bells this morning, so I have to rise and shine.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept quite well from 10-4:15 or so. Then I could not get back to sleep from fretting over the fact I now have two cell phones, didn't need to buy another - only a new battery - and neither one now works. It's back to Verizon tomorrow.
-
More tax tallies today. Yesterday I went through my bank statements with a fine-toothed comb looking for any payments I might not have recorded earlier.
-
We’re playing bells this morning, so I have to rise and shine.
That does sound like fun!
-
Full Fathom Five?
There was a movie called "Fathom" which starred Raquel Welch in the late 1960s.
-
"Fathom" starring Raquel Welch got a nice review in the Times
Nice Doris Day links today!
-
Most of the roads were clear by 11 a.m. yesterday, so we made it to the ballet.
I'm glad we made it. As you know, when it comes to culture, I'm one of the first hogs to the trough.
Nice Doris Day links today!
Lots of fun! Thanks to JohnG and Rodzinski for posting those links!
I wonder if these days, "Roly Poly" from PILLOW TALK would have to be changed to something more subtle like "calorically challenged".
A day without Doris …
I wonder if these days, "Roly Poly" from PILLOW TALK would have to be changed to something more subtle like "calorically challenged".
Alexa played “I don’t want her, you can have her, she’s too fat for me” this morning.
I forgot that we always dress in western wear for the chili cook-off. So I now have my oversized belt buckle on, my black shirt with snap buttons and white piping, and a bolo tie from Dad.
I left the boots at home.
It’s cold here today. Tuesday promises a high of 85. Go figure.
I will probably do a bit of shoveling tomorrow.
To the lyricist who writes the Colo-Guard commercials - using the tune of "My Way":
Good morning.
I'm down about 2.2 pounds since the beginning of Lent.
Wow, DR Laura!
Listening this morning to Melissa Errico's latest Sondheim recital.
Even though many of the songs are familiar, she has a knack for making you hear the lyrics in a fresh way.
Happy Sunday to one and all. The latest episode of the Broadway Radio Show is up for your listening pleasure. Nic & Desi (aka Nicolas Dromard & Desi Davar) are back to chat about their brand new album La Vie en Rose as well as the everything they went through this past year getting the album made including Nic's cancer diagnosis, surgery, and treatment. It's a wonderful and inspiring story...I hope you'll give it a listen. They are an amazingly talented couple!
Don't you hate it when your chip break off in the dip, and you have to go in with another chip on a rescue mission?
Sounds intriguing, DR Donald.
From DR George:
I kind of guessed that when I saw how many items you purchased ;D
Back from playing a church service.
Good afternoon, all.
It's a beautifully sunny day in the neighborhood.
The s**w from Tuesday's storm is still with us, and -- it's easy to say this when I don't have to go out and clean any of it up -- it's making for some lovely landscapes around the region. My drive this morning was through country-ish roads, and it was all quite lovely.
We had two chilis today. The one that didn’t taste like chili took fourth place. The one that tasted like chili didn’t win anything.
One chili I tasted was so sweet I couldn’t eat it. It had that chemical aftertaste that saccharine leaves.
Good morning…uh afternoon
-
I had church where I acted as communion assistant
-
Then I cleaned up and reset for the 1030 service
-
Had a visit to coffee hour where I had a lovely time showing off pictures of my grandson
-
Then visited my three homebound parishioners with communion
-
Then shopping at Aldi
-
Where I collected the makings for stuffed peppers
-
As well as this stool for Vixson
-
( I did run it past Vixter @nd Vixhubby before purchase)
-
Then I went to the bagel place and picked up a egg, cheese and sausage on croissant for Vixdad
-
I saw they had lobster bisque so I bought a quart for me
-
But it was very disappointing, thin , watery and no meat at all
-
I won’t buy again
-
Then I had a zoom meeting
-
Had a phone call with my mom and made arrangements to have lunch tomorrow
-
Had several text messages with the Vixter and Vixhubby with some new baby pix
-
And now I must start the peppers or they won’t be ready for dinner
-
But first a Wordle
Gratuitous post 102!
-
Trying to wake up from a nap.
-
That is adorable, DR vixmom.
-
And it looks like it will only cost
an arm a trunk and a leg to get it to Florida.
-
I'm up, I'm up - ten hours of excellent sleep.
Rains have not begun. Doesn't even look like rain.
Just beautiful!
-
Did they serve Oliver Twist lobster gruel?
-
Perhaps not.
-
How many chili's were there in total, DR John G.?
-
And did you portion it out and serve it in upturned handbells?
-
Handy with a built-in handle.
-
You'd have to eat around the clappers, however.
-
Did they serve Oliver Twist lobster gruel?
Gruel and unusual punishment.
-
So maybe not ideal.
-
Will BK reach a new plateau today?
-
Will we all perform a version of the Nitty Gritty and post the videos?
-
Will DR MichaelG startle us all with a high b flat?
Congrats to DR LAURA on her shrinking avoirdupois.
-
I swept the snow off the roof and windshield of Dennis the Smart Car....and then shoveled some s**w from the driveway.
It is now a balmy 35 degrees......
-
DR VIXMOM's day has worn me out and I think I need a nap.
-
I was thinking exactly the same thing, DR Jrand73.
-
Except that I just had a nap.
-
DR vixmom has a LOT more energy than I do.
-
In fact, she has a lot more of everything than I do.
-
She's the gal with the mostest.
-
And I don't care who knows it.
-
DR George, your "to go" box is ready!
-
How many chili's were there in total, DR John G.?
16 this year.
-
And did you portion it out and serve it in upturned handbells?
I like that serving idea. We had bowls. Actually, a few brought sectioned plates, which somehow managed to piss off one of the organizers. It was rather funny.
-
BK, are you aware of the Al Goodman operetta recordings that Stage Door has been releasing? They are only releasing 100 copies of each CD and there were several complaints about their selling out so quickly. Would you consider taking them on?
-
Has anyone read Susan Lenox: Her Rise and Fall or seen the movie with Garbo and Gable? I'm listening to a fun mystery about the murder of the author, which was a true event. In the book, The Wharton Project, Edith Wharton sets out to solve the case. I'm sort of enjoying it. There are Wharton touches here and there.
My dear Rita. Had no idea she was my age - yes, I'll share memories in the notes. She was great and very supportive. And Ben - who I adored. Every time Ilene would do Kritzerland he'd accompany her. Of course, Nikka, their daughter, is in the Psycho episode of Outside the Box.
-
Performance 2 of Corpus Evita is done. The composer said that he liked this production a hundred times better than the original staging. We got a rave review from a local blogger that mentioned the chorus a lot, calling us "resoundingly melodic." I'll let you know if any good video clips get posted. Maybe even one of the scenes with all the B-flats. :)
The one time I participated in a chili cook-off we discovered that the key was bribing the judges. The winners in that contest weren't that good either.
Great bit from The Wharton Project. A woman is talking about getting her portrait painted. Edith Wharton thinks to herself: One edition of Mamie Updike’s face was all the world needed. It required no more.
-
Two thirds of the way to seven.
A traveling company could do Wharton at the seaside. They could call it Wharton on the Wharf.
Surely that would sell tickets.
And don't call them Shirley.
I have missed the chili contest at my church the last several times it was held as it’s been scheduled on the day we’re heading back from Florida
-
This year it was scheduled a week later than usual….but we were in Florida fir two weeks this time so it again fell on the day we were traveling back.
-
They say they just plan it to take place on Super Bowl weekend and before Ash Wednesday
But I know the truth
-
They fear my chili making and table decorating skills
-
Beginning to fade.
Good night, all.
The fact that I never won in the years I did participate is irrelevant
They fear my chili making and table decorating skills
Do they have cause to fear?
We watched the final episode of this season’s True Detective: Night Country tonight
We quite enjoyed it.
I have heard there will be a second season with the same cast and setting
