Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of a good sandwich, and now it is time for you to post until the good cows come home.

And the word of the day is: WHIPPERSNAPPER!

Good morning, all!
-
The band rehearsal ended at 6:40, and I was mentally exhausted. I then watched MSNBC until 8:30 and went to bed.
-
As for the rehearsal, I have such a crush on the conductor Marzio Conti. He is so good with the students; he's very patient but he can be stern, but he's always charming and very sure of what he wants from the players. And the players make beautiful music from my scrawl, so I'm very happy.
-
This morning, I must schedule Access-a-Ride trips for tomorrow and Thursday.

Good morning, all.
-
I want to have lunch at Roma Deli. I’m just not quite sure how I can fit that in with rehearsals back here at 2:30 and 6:30.
Yes, dear DRs, it’s another two-rehearsal day, and the second one is providing food beforehand. Today it’s to be a baked potato bar which will be my first time at such a thing. May the toppings be good and plentiful.
-
Good morning, all.
-
DR Elmore’s orchestra rehearsals sound wonderful. I can’t wait to see and hear this production.

I don't recommend Good & Plenty on a baked potato. But maybe that's just me.
-
Good morning, friends.

So pleased about the progress of DR elmore3003's ballet.

Glad that the Rodz clan arrived safe & sound in Hawaii and seems to be having a marvelous time.

DR George - you really do look fetching in that frock!

I just learned that pianist Byron Janis has died at 95. I don’t know about his entire career, but he’s featured on a few exceptional Mercury and RCA recordings that are without equal in terms of both performance and recording quality.

Rehearsal & Potato vibes for DR CHAS SMITH.

Glad to hear that DR ELMORE is enjoying the orchestra.

Is Ben Platt going to start his show at The Palace by running in from the back and open by singing "I Feel A Song Coming On"?

Byron Janis was a wannabe Broadway composer and a piece of shit. He was writing a version of The Hunchback of Notre Dame and I cannot remember who brought me onto the project. I wouldn't be shocked if he did some tribute to stars who inspired him that had played the Palace. It would seem logical.
-
His dad did produce "Wicked" so there is a two (or is it three) degrees of separation thing from "The Wizard of Oz."
So should "Over the Rainbow" be ruled out?
-
Was he related to Conrad Janis?

It’s been a long day already.

I started work today on replacing my garden gate, which has been a problem since I moved in 24 years ago.
Like in the song "Open up your garden gate, San Antonio here we come"
-
Decades from now, people who saw Ben Platt as Evan Hansen in the movie will probably laugh at us when we try to regale others with how terrific he was in the stage musical.

Back from breakfast at Hugo's - pasta papa - picking up nothing from the mail place - Gelson's - and making an eye exam appointment, which I'll leave for in ninety minutes. She asked me if either eye was cloudy but I don't see that at all. Depending on what she sees, she may have to recommend me to an ophthalmologist. Really hope it doesn't come to that.

I'm down almost 12 pounds since giving up carbs for Lent.

I am seeing my urologist tomorrow, and I would not be surprised if I were hospitalized for tests. I no longer think the problem is high blood sugar, so I'm a little scared.

Luckily, I have today's orchestra rehearsal to look forward to and occupy my mind.

I kept my strides shorter on our walk today.

Back from the eye doctor, about which more later. Basically, the double vision thing can easily be corrected with a prism lens for the right eye. But the doctor is more interested in the WHY of why this happened suddenly and wants me to have some tests first.
-
She said I shouldn't have been experiencing that much pain from the biopsy and figures it was from the skin cancer. I hope she was correct and I heal quickly this time and that the pain goes away.

Back to Wandering Stars. It’s gotten a little better, but still seems like it’s more interested in its agenda than in storytelling.

I finally found an optometrist who says she can make my glasses
-
I have an appointment with her on Saturday

I wonder which arm and leg she’ll request
-
It's called Text Blaze. It allows you to preprogram shortcuts to words, phrases, or sentences that you are always re-typing, and you can insert them anywhere, in any program. Should save me a lot of typing. It also handles fonts, formatting, colors, etc., but I will mainly use it for text.

I read some of the reviews of Teeth, the new vagina dentata musical. It either bites or is biting, depending on the critic.

They were showing off the pastrami sandwich

Should I give it a try?

Only page 5! I must be to blame.

Generally good time here. Lovely place, all that. Maybe escaped a wrong-place, wrong-time moment today with minimal damage, but it put a bit of a dark spin on the fun.
-
We were driving around sight-seeing and saw a sign for a little cemetery so said, hey, I’ll go by there on the way back to get some photos for my magazine. Had already done this once without issue at a lovely coastal cemetery.
-
So we saw sights, then I drove up the side road toward the cemetery. Looked lovely. Drove by a lovely bull on the other side of the fence. Started to look at stuff to photograph. Whole family is in the car. Couple vehicles were further up in the cemetery. One of them, a junky little pickup comes our way. I think maybe I’m blocking his way out. But he drives up by my window. And I wave. He makes a gesture like what are you doing? Asks me what I’m doing in some manner of grunts. I’m like “just came to see the cemetery.” He grunts. I pass.
-
I drive around the circular path where another vehicle is. Figured truck guy left or was fine but he drives back around behind the other vehicle. So I’m like, ok I’m not feeling welcome, I’m not getting out of the car with a camera. Maybe I had gotten out for a second. Got back in. He lets me pass again but then follows us out of the place and all the way down to the town we’d come through. So I speed off and eventually turn around because I had to go back that way to get back to our place. I’d lost him. Very eerie though.
-
Just sort of unsettling. I thought at first he was a caretaker. But my wife saw a third vehicle with some other dudes in it. She’s convinced we happened across a crime in progress or something. So she was quite upset. The guy definitely seemed malevolent. But they let us go. I mean they could have trapped us in the cemetery if they chose. Might’ve been saved by the other vehicle which was a woman, possible actual visitor? I dunno. Confusing and quick turn of events. Possibly nothing serious, but it unnerved us.
-
Otherwise… the good!
