Well, you've read the notes, the notes were rising, and now it is time for you to post until the rising cows in Phoenix come home.
-
And the word of the day is: BEDIZEN!
-
Notes revealed. Reveled.

See it! It’s deep.

Good morning, friends.

Who decides these things?

Lobster Newburg Day sounds pretty fancy!
-
Rodzinski, what a lovely story last night about your photographing that couple's proposal!
-
Good morning, all.

I think that tour of Hairspray is coming to San Antonio.

"Up, Up and Away" was a particular favorite when I worked in an office that had a radio station on all day.
-
TOD:
Love all that have been mentioned, plus "Worst That Could Happen".

March is determined to go out sheepishly this week.
Today is Monday, the last day of March 2024.
One week from today will be April Fool's Day. I suggest we refrain from Spain rain so that April can cry.
If that made sense to you, I pity you.

HHW was down for a few hours this morning.

Way back in my Oakland days, I was excited when Rhino Records began a series of CD productions under the Rhino Handmade label. One that I bought and really enjoy is this 5-CD set:
-
Good morning, all.
-
HHW was down for a few hours this morning.
Down in the well. Well, well, well.
-
This morning I awoke to being a free man. No rehearsals, no shows, no keyboard lugging around.
-
I do need to lug a couple of chain saws around, which need some in-store servicing before I can go out and start cutting things up like a madman again.
-
I love that cat painting DR singdaw......and I didn't know that CD existed.....I may have to look for it.
-
Tomorrow night my three sisters are coming over for a party.....so I had to go to the getting place and get stuff got.....
-
And I do go back to a "Drowsy" rehearsal again tomorrow. But that's all right. It's their keyboard, I just sit down and play.

I love Ronald Searle's illustrations! ;D

Winter-a-Go-Go or Beach Party?
-
Oh, look! It's Page Two!
-
I will order 4 medium pizzas from Papa John's to arrive when they do....or around then.....and I will make a pitcher of Barnabas Collins....our favorite libation.....
One bottle of fruit flavored wine, one half cup of watermelon vodka, and one jar of cranberry juice.....
And then we try to play cards which is pretty funny.....and maybe watch a movie or two.....
-
DR CHAS SMITH when the four of us get together ANYTHING can happen......
-
I like Jimmy Webb songs.....and the LP that MR BK mentioned by Richard Harris.....
Once on The Glen Campbell Show - the titular star sang "By The Time I Get To Phoenix" and Totie Fields played his wife who found a note from him telling her he was leaving.....and she started laughing and couldn't stop.....it was very funny..... I miss comediennes like Totie Fields.......
-
I have the songbook:
Too Many Songs by Tom Lehrer with Not Enough Drawings by Ronald Searle (https://www.amazon.com/Lehrer-Enough-Drawings-Ronald-Searle/dp/0394749308)
:D
-
And he's right...there are not enough drawings by Ronald Searle. ;)
-
HHW was down for a few hours this morning.
Yes, it was! :-\ Glad it's back!!

HHW was down for a few hours this morning.
Down in the well. Well, well, well.
Speaking of well, well, well, The Manhattan Transfer covered this song:
Well Well Well (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-J94Xb6j8-U)
;)

I think I’ve told this story before but I interviewed Jim Webb once by phone and he was very nice. Then I called him some time later for a quote and he raged out at me and hung up. He clearly thought I was someone else that second time, so I didn’t take it personally. It was just wild seeing the two sides of him.

I just realized that ChasSmith realized (see what I did there ;) ) a new millstone! Congrats, ChasSmith!

Congratulations on your new millstone, Chas!
-
singdaw is getting very close to 50,000! He's at 49,916.
-
Congratulations, ChasSmith.
-
I spent the morning unloading pew parts at church. We hope to have new pews in place by Thursday service
-
Well, I see we are up and running. I suspected a problem while I was catching up on last night's posts. It took forever for a pagew to load in. Around 8:00, after I'd read BK's notes, I was no longer able to get onto today's posts.
-
singdaw is getting very close to 50,000! He's at 49,916.
Nice...and Rodzinski is heading towards 9000.
-
Then I planted the four plants I picked up on Saturday. It rained overnight, so digging was easy
-
Now time for a short rest.
-
I came up from the basement to find a new congratulatory voice mail on my answering machine. That was nice.

DR Elmore, while HHW was down this morning I sent you an email. Just want to make sure you get it okay.
-
Congrats to DR CHAS SMITH on his millstone.

Here is a link to the interview if anybody wants to spend 7 minutes looking at it.

-
Thanks! I've never gotten into the habit of looking at my post count, or even knowing in general where I am at any given time!
-
Watching, DR Jrand73!
-
Elmore, do we have to watch the ballet Friday only or will it be available after that?
-
Three!
-
Waiting for a friend to have lunch.
-
Listening to Shannon Reed’s Why We Read, which is delightful.

It's their keyboard, I just sit down and play.
They laughed when I sat down at the piano....

All I planned on doing after my last posting was to go to the bank, buy Powerball/Megamillion tickets and pick up my mail at the post office. Fifteen minutes is what it should have taken.
Instead, it was more than an hour's work! The bank was easy enough, ATM-wise, but when I pulled up to the window to deposit some checks, I had a 10-minute wait because the bank was filled with customers who got there well before I did.
That was all right.
When I went to buy my lottery tickets, there were five folks at the register, and they all seemed to be together and yet discordantly apart as they were all buying large cups of boiled peanuts and they were busy digging into pockets and purses for loose change to help the one paying finish the transaction.
That was all right, too
The post office was a madhouse. Every convenient space of parking was taken. As I entered folks were standing around chatting/socializing. I got my mail from my box and found I had a slip for a package. So, into the office I went and was third in line. First in line was having something done, but it took quite a while for the transaction to finish. The guy in front of me was quick.
When my turn came, the guy said I had "a lot" of packages. First thought I had was that the loggerjam of mail at the USPS sorting center outside Atlanta (a new facility that has been backed up for two weeks) must have started letting things go. I had five (count 'em 5) packages. Stan, the postal guy, told me they received 750 packages this morning alone. For Johnston, anything more than 50 packages on a Monday means it's Christmas under normal circumstances.
When I got home, Denny was cutting my yard, so the day has become somewhat productive for me even thought I thought it would be a fairly lazy day.

That was really great!
-
And coincidentally, I did a couple of shows with a guy named Josh Bein. :)
-
Elmore, do we have to watch the ballet Friday only or will it be available after that?
Ooo...good question!
-
That sounds like quite a busy morning, Ron!
-
Ron, maybe those were Christmas packages waiting to be delivered.
-
Fun interview! Makes me want to come audition for Oklahoma!
-
DR Elmore, while HHW was down this morning I sent you an email. Just want to make sure you get it okay.
Yes, I did get it. I was going to ask you for a ride home after!
-
Elmore, do we have to watch the ballet Friday only or will it be available after that?
The Friday, Saturday matinee and evening performances will be shown live as they occur. After that, one performance will be on the IU Live! streaming network.
-
Everything is beautiful at the ballet.
-
Thanks for the kind comments......we could use you DR RODZINSKI come on down.
LOL DR GEORGE......alphabetically my Josh would come first.
-
I'm up, I'm up - almost eight hours of non-consecutive sleep.
-
I happened to be up when the site went down - it was only down for thirty or forty minutes, though. I contacted the tech guy and he got it fixed.

That's good service from the tech guy!
-
From DR Rodzinski:
Remember when we didn’t own the phones in our own house?
I think the phone service was better back then.
-
DR Rodzinski I enjoyed the story of the proposal and invite to the wedding.
-
Did you go to the wedding?
-
HHW was down for a few hours this morning.
I never had time to come here this morning. I guess I picked a good day for that.
-
,
I like this.

I just realized that ChasSmith realized (see what I did there ;) ) a new millstone! Congrats, ChasSmith!
Congratulations!

It's more like Yea, they wept...

Ditto!

-
Was going to do another hot dog day but the chili from Saturday, despite being in the fridge - went bad. So, Wacky Noodles it is.
-
Will be ready in about three or four minutes.
-
The Chili Went Bad.
That is a title of one of the episodes of my new sitcom.
-
TOD: As a former trumpet player, it's got to be Maynard Ferguson's rendition of MacArthur Park.
-
I've got to leave early for my book discussion meeting in order to get a nice comfy seat on a couch, vs a hard chair.
-

Thanks for sharing - nice interview! Although it did bring back memories of the callbacks where I saw I was the worst dancer of the lot so I knew I wouldn't get cast. Got a free dance lesson out of it, though :).
-
Good evening!
-
Thanks for the greeting, DR Freddie!
-
Wordle: 2/6 The right opening word sure helps!
-
I happened to be up when the site went down - it was only down for thirty or forty minutes, though. I contacted the tech guy and he got it fixed.
Whew!
-
No posts in ninety MINUTES???
-
Wacko Noodles were excellent.
-
Really excellent.
-
Zoom pushed to tomorrow - David is having the exact issue I am with double vision.
-
And speaking of that, I'm going back tomorrow and getting glasses with the prism lens for the right eye. I have to be able to drive at night and it's just too weird. She wants to double check and make sure we've got the prism perfect before she orders the glasses and I have to also choose frames.
-

That's good she is making sure it is correct first.
-
Jane, how was sitting at the book club meeting?

I finally had the time to watch it. DR Jrand it was fun seeing you and I enjoyed the interview.
-
Jane, how was sitting at the book club meeting?
Thanks for asking. I stood until the discussion began. I had a nice soft oversized chair with armrests to sit in. Lots of wiggle room for changing my position to be comfortable enough.
-
The discussion was also enjoyable.
-
Since I ate dinner early popcorn will be a nice snack.
-
'night
-
Oops, I thought it was 7:00 ;D
-
Just read an excellent review for an Italian restaurant next to Planet Fitness. The review said it was the best pizza in Vancouver. We need to try this.
-
I haven't been home yet since leaving the house almost 13 hours ago. I'm exhausted
-
I can't half sit here any more.
-
Half sit is the best way I can describe how I sit these days.
-
I haven't been home yet since leaving the house almost 13 hours ago. I'm exhausted
I would think so. Slepp well tonight.
-
This time for real......

Thanks for the video link, DR Jrand73. Nice job!

PAGE FIVE
-
DR elmore3003, I'm sure that Annabelle would want to play Christine Daae, but perhaps she should consider the title role...
-
It looks like the production of Sunset Boulevard that DR Matthew went to see in London is coming to Broadway, and will have a cast recording as well.
-
Goodnight, Jane!
-
Relaxation vibes to vixmom!
-
DR elmore3003, I'm sure that Annabelle would want to play Christine Daae, but perhaps she should consider the title role...
LOL!
-
Good night, friends.
-
Went out to dinner with a friend who sold her condo today.
-
Had a couple of margaritas and some food.
-
Did I mention margaritas?
-
Did I mention margaritas?
Sounds like a fun time!
-
What I want to know is: were margaritas involved?
-
Did you go to the wedding?
We did! It was fun.
-
What I want to know is: were margaritas involved?
They weren't virgins.
-
Following Much Ado with the recent rom-com Anyone But You, which I forgot is based on, you guessed it, Much Ado About Nothing.
-
How do these things happen?
-
I'm fading.
-
Good night, all.
-
Still on page 5?
-
Tough sledding tonight.
-
By day, I feel quite healthy. Every night around 10, a cough arrives that keeps me up. By morning, it’s gone.
-
Page five???
-
Where the HELL is George.
-
And that was a very short story I call, “My Night Cough.”
-
If he's reading the book, he'll be excused, although he could take a break and get us off this damn page.
-
But nooooo...
-
George is AWOL
-
Think I'll take a hot shower now and get it out of the way.
-
AWOL is right.
-
Absent Without Lollipops
-
I think there's gaslighting going on here.
-
See?
-
The lights are gassed.
-
Now let's get off THIS damn page. Back in a few minutes.
-
Page 6, we welcome you.
-
bk heads shower-ward, leaving me the heavy lifting.
-
Dick Cavett clips always fun to watch at nighttime.
-
The dude loved to talk
-
Yet he was and is intelligent and so different from anything we have now
-
Even Carson, you watch clips and he’ll have a guest on for a full half hour, allowing them to talk, allowing moments to breathe.
-
Was going to do another hot dog day but the chili from Saturday, despite being in the fridge - went bad. So, Wacky Noodles it is.
That's too bad about the chili, BK. I hate it when that happens. :P
-
And ever since you mentioned the hot dogs, I've wanted to go back to Costco to get another one of theirs. :)
-
I have a package (not a can) of chili with beans. I wonder if I heated that up, would they mind if I brought some of it and put it on my Costco dog and ate it there.
-
I can't imagine that that would be a problem...I'm buying their hot dog (even though it's only $1.62 with tax).
-
TOD: As a former trumpet player, it's got to be Maynard Ferguson's rendition of MacArthur Park.
I think that Donna Summer's version was the first version that I heard.
-
Had a nice shower, and then telephonic conversation with Doug.
-
At least, it's the first version that I remember hearing.
-
Chili with beans on hot dogs doesn't really work - you want chili sans beans - Hormel has that.
-
Zoom pushed to tomorrow - David is having the exact issue I am with double vision.
That's too bad!
-
I am not a former trumpet player.
-
I've never even held a trumpet.
-
And speaking of that, I'm going back tomorrow and getting glasses with the prism lens for the right eye. I have to be able to drive at night and it's just too weird. She wants to double check and make sure we've got the prism perfect before she orders the glasses and I have to also choose frames.
Good luck with the glasses, BK!
-
But I've worked with some very fine trumpet players.
-
Where the HELL is the page I do not care for?
-
It must be lurking somewhere.
-
I did watch Jrand's interview, though.
-
DR elmore3003, I'm sure that Annabelle would want to play Christine Daae, but perhaps she should consider the title role...
:))
-
What?
-
Did someone say something?
-
Listening to C.P.E. Bach.
-
I do not care for page seven.
-
Just in case anyone was wondering.
-
Eight minutes to notes.
-
That's exciting news.
-
These Bach boys were all very good.
-
And don't forget the Bach in Bacharach.
-
It looks like the production of Sunset Boulevard that DR Matthew went to see in London is coming to Broadway, and will have a cast recording as well.
I'm very interested in hearing the cast recording.
-
I'd like to see the Mark Morris ballet to Bacharach music.
-
I wonder if they'll stream it?
-
I'm not interested in seeing Sunset Blvd. under any circumstances. Twice was quite enough.
-
So, it looks like there's an opera version of Stephen King's The Shining (https://castalbums.org/recordings/The-Shining-2023-Lyric-Opera-of-Kansas-City/49874). :-\
-
And I don't like what I've seen and heard of the one they're bringing to B'way.
-
But that's just me.
-
It's conducted by Gerard Schwartz who used to conduct the Seattle Symphony Orchestra for many years.
-
We've done The Shining on Outside the Box - enough is enough.
-
I think I might need to get it.
-
We've done The Shining on Outside the Box - enough is enough.
You'd think, but no. Others have to put their versions out there, too. ::)
-
There all a little late to the partay.
-
What?
-
Ooh, look, I'm heading to another large number.
-
Gratuitous Post #201!!
-
I'm a large number myself, but that's another story.
-
Following Much Ado with the recent rom-com Anyone But You, which I forgot is based on, you guessed it, Much Ado About Nothing.
How do these things happen?
It's called "Public domain."
;)
-
Yes.
-
I though it was called it?
-
Where the HELL is George.
I has arrived!
-
I like this C.P.E. Bach music. Concerto for four violas and orchestra.
-
I had a rehearsal that went a little later than 10:00 pm, so I had to stay.
-
George has arrived.
-
Perhaps when the notes are posted, he'll go back to reading a book?
-
Page eight.
-
George is AWOL
Not anymore.
-
Whew!
-
A timely arrival.
-
Just in time, we got here just in time.
-
Even Carson, you watch clips and he’ll have a guest on for a full half hour, allowing them to talk, allowing moments to breathe.
He definitely was one of the masters.
-
Where did this month go?
-
I don't like any of the current late-night hosts.
-
But that's just me.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
Chili with beans on hot dogs doesn't really work - you want chili sans beans - Hormel has that.
Yup...thinking about it, I don't think I'd try that.
-
I like this C.P.E. Bach dude.
-
Or should I call him "bro"
-
And I've had, and enjoyed, Hormel's on a hot dog. :)
-
If I never hear the word "bro" again it will be too soon.
-
I've never even held a trumpet.
You gotta bump it with a trumpet. :D
-
I don't think people understand how stupid they sound when every other word is "bro".
-
Page 8. Great work, bros.
-
Just say no to bro.
-
Bro this, bro that.
-
Listening to C.P.E. Bach.
I still prefer P.D.Q. Bach. ;D
-
I played cornet as a kid.
-
I don't want bro anywhere my orb. Of course, orb is bro spelled backwards.
-
Have I mentioned that new notes are up?
-
I do not care for page seven.
What did page seven ever do to you??
-
What?
-
Page nine is fine.
-
And don't forget the Bach in Bacharach.
As one must never do!
-
My cornet is under my house.
