Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of a director/choreographer whose work I never need to see again, and now it is time for you to post until the never need to see cows come home come home.
-
And the word of the day is: EXTRAVAGANZA!

Good morning, friends.
-
DR George, thank you for explaining what a paper tech is.
-
.
-
Who decides these things?
-
Yes, DR Rodzinski - the Easter Vigil service, at least as practiced in the Episcopal Church, goes on for many hours. I always thought it was inconsiderate of the musicians, who had to work Mandy Thursday, Good Friday, the Easter Vigil on Saturday, and then Easter morning. It's a marathon.
-
And in some places, they add insult to injury by having an Evensong service on Easter Sunday afternoon.
-
DR George, thank you for explaining what a paper tech is.
Yes, that was interesting!
-
.
Can't you have a Virtual Vacation Day by just going on YouTube or watching a movie?
-
So great to hear last night went so well for Larry.
Looking forward to what Chas says about it today!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Saturday morning greetings! Quiet Easter weekend for us…

You know what?
When DR Elmore gets up on stage and talks, he sounds pretty damned smart. 8)
He had a very receptive audience and a pretty good talk host, even if she did try at first to pronounce Robert Russell Bennett's surname as Benét. But the talk was entertaining and enlightening and just what we all needed in preparation for watching (and especially listening to) the ballet. It went off beautifully, and at the intermission when DR Elmore was spoken of in the most glowing terms on the stream itself, our audience let him know exactly how much his contributions were appreciated. In my view, it was a rewarding time for all.
I sat with Rob Berman and adopted son Joshie and their other friends, and they all went on about how much damned music there really is in a ballet, and how wonderful the orchestration was. DR Elmore's inspirations, such as making one number a tango, another a Charleston, etc., and his scoring for a wide selection of instruments (for a classical ballet) like piano, guitar and banjo, a drum set in addition to a standard array of percussion, were just perfect. If there are details he'd like to further improve, that's fine, but this was a SUCCESS and that conclusion was unanimous.
And the reimagined ballet itself? I think it was wonderful and that all the "creatives" had their collective heads in just the right places for this one.
-
I overslept so had no time for my morning routine and had to rush out the door to work
-
At lunch time I checked my emails and found a message which , after a frustrating morning, was NOT what Ineeded to see at that moment.
-
I have since received a follow up message and I prefer to put the entire situation behind me .
-
And that’s all I’m saying about THAT.
-
We did end up getting our a little early for Good Friday which was helpful as I had a million things to do before church.
-
I was happily able to have a brief chat with our dear Elmore
-
I am so sorry I couldn’t t attend last night, but I am thrilled to hear how well everything went.
-
I hope to watch tonight’s evening performance
-
Thank you for your repor, Chas!
-
On Good Friday my church holds a Tennenbrae service.
-
The church is lit by seven candles, representing the seven stations of the cross and the Christ candle and dim overhead lighting
-
Thanks for that wonderful repor, DR ChasSmith.
-
PAGE TWO
-
There is readings from Isaiah, followed by a reading from John, a short prayer, a chant, 2 verses sung from a hymn and one of the candles is extinguished and the overhead lights dimmed further.
-
I hope that DR elmore3003 feels duly appreciated.
-
This is repeated six more times until the entire church is dark leaving only the Christ candle burning
-
Then that is carried out of sight behind the altar wall and a door is slammed behind the wall, symbolizing the sealing of the tomb.
-
The congregation departs in silence and the dark, our practice not to speak until we’ve crossed the street off the church property .
-
It’s a very solemn and moving service and I have been one of the two readers for the past 15 + years.
-
BK, here is where you can watch DR elmore3003's ballet:
https://iumusiclive.music.indiana.edu/#/ (https://iumusiclive.music.indiana.edu/#/)
Here is the link to the program book:

Today's performances are at 2:00PM and 7:30PM Eastern.
-
When the Vixter was here she used to read the New Testament passages and I the Old, but since she moved I now read the New Testament part and another member reads the old.
-
After the congregation has departed and after a small time of meditation , we who were part of the service then prepare the sanctuary for Easter morning.
-
So we get to replace all the black hangings with white, install candles on the pews, and full the chancel with lilies.
-
By time we were done and I headed home it was after 10 and physically and emotionally exhausted I went to bed
-
I must get moving now. Breakfast and then out to the train, I am seeing the matinee performance of Brooklyn Laundry at the Manhattan Theatre Club.
-
That sounds beautiful, DR vixmom.
-
Good morning!
-
At the service I participated in last night, the choir had prepared a multi-movement work based on the 7 last words, and sang one movement at a time in between the scripture readings.
-
They did the candles, as well, although they couldn't dim the lights so much, or the choir wouldn't have been able to read their music.

I agree! I had the pleasure of seeing and hearing him at Encores a few years ago!
I am truly disappointed that I couldn’t attend. I hope the talk was recorded and can be found on YouTube
-

Our choir and organ are in a loft at the rear of the church so they have book lights which can’t be seen below .
The final duet, sung in the dark is sung acapella

Thank you, DR ChasSmith, for the in-person report from last night. I was watching the livestream along with y’all and teared up at Doug’s remarks about DR Elmore in the intermission video.

It looks like I'm not going to be "in the zone" for the forthcoming total solar eclipse.

Perhaps DR John G. will see it.

Thank you, DR ChasSmith, for the in-person report from last night. I was watching the livestream along with y’all and teared up at Doug’s remarks about DR Elmore in the intermission video.
I imagine - or rather, I hope - they will leave the intermission features intact for these next two livestreams.

The ballet was the perfect antidote to how Richard and I had spent the afternoon. We attended the “Tennebrae” conducted by our community’s chaplain. Now, I’m fully aware that Good Friday is not supposed to be festive, but this was especially depressing. Most of the other attendees were from the assisted living and memory care units, including 3 women we knew 30-40-50 years ago who didn’t recognize us yesterday :'(

Good morning, all!

I staggered in to face three angry cats: Annabelle is still pissed she isn't dancing the lead in the ballet, Thatch wanted to take a class at Indiana University, and Stella wanted to play her tambourine in the ballet orchestra. They've all been angry for some time over the situation, but when they heard how well it went, it was hell, pure hell.
-
DR Elmore mentioned Tiffany of the NYPL, and she was indeed a wonderful and helpful person.
Another special treat for me, however fleeting it was, was meeting - after hearing about her all these years - DR Elmore's goddaughter Charlotte who is totally charming.
-
I appreciated DR ChasSmith's report. Once I got to the library, saw the layout and assured myself that I was not going to fall or stumble and get into the wheelchair, I was fine. I felt a bit like The Man Who Came To Dinner being pushed around, and I really liked Georgina, my co-host, so I decided to have a good time.
-
I didn't get to bed until rather late, so I slept in this morning to the dismay of three cats who wanted breakfast. Thew nice thing was that when they finally got fed, they ate everything in sight.
-
BK, I think tonight's performance at 7:30 Eastern Time - is that 4:30 in LA? - will have the best cast. Tonight's leading man was the dancing Oscar in last night's performance. He's really good.
Here's the link again: https://iumusiclive.music.indiana.edu/#/

DR Singdaw. thanks for posting the program and screening link earlier.
-
I was really grateful for DR vixmom's call yesterday. It was nice to have someone to talk to and not fret about all the pre-show nonsense.
-
Such good news about the ballet last night.
Thanks to DR CHAS SMITH & DR ELMORE for posting info.
And thanks to all for the links.
-
And such wonderful FOOD pictures from DR JOHN G.
-
My legs are killing me today, so as soon as kitty cleanup is over, I'm doing little as possible the rest of the day. Beyond watching two ballet performans and listening to a few CDs, I'm taking it easy.
-
Yes DR RODZINSKI - and the Sycamores play on Tuesday, so I am hoping they advance even further.....
The Purdue game was tense for a bit in the first half but then not so much.....
-
I'm taking it easy.
And so you should!
-
I will not be able to watch this afternoon amid preparations for my trip next week, but I am looking forward to tonight.
-
Next week at this time, I will be in sunny Palm Springs.
-
I've long admired the excellence of Indiana University's music school. My family and I even visited there when we were considering colleges for little old moi, even though it had already looked like I would be shepherded in the direction of Cleveland (which was indeed a good thing). But they have always seemed to be really smart out there, and that impression is further solidified with their handling of this ballet.
-
Not that it was especially memorable, but I recall preferring the Radcliffe How To Succeed to the Broderick version (Ferris Bueller Succeeds).
In the clips that I've seen of each, Radcliffe looks like he's having fun playing the role and Broderick doesn't.
-
DR George, thank you for explaining what a paper tech is.
My pleasure. :)
-
I slightly knew Karen Shaw, who served for many years as the chair of the Piano Department at Indiana's Jacobs School of Music. I studied piano with her aunt.
-
I am right in the path of The Eclipse and will enjoy it on that day.
-
DR George, thank you for explaining what a paper tech is.
Yes, that was interesting!
Glad to be of service.
-
Good for you, DR Jrand73!
-
You can give us a full repor.
-
Too many errands and chores to do today. :(

Palm Springs!!!!???
La dee dah!
That's where Troy Donahue, Robert Conrad, and Connie Stevens spent a weekend. Remember to Live Young!

When I was playing in a How to Succeed orchestra two years ago, I watched whatever clips I could find of those revivals. I was sufficiently disheartened by the unnecessary changes in them that I was glad I hadn't gone to see either one.

That's wonderful, ChasSmith! Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I hope to be able to watch the archived version soon...just not this weekend. ::)

You sure are, DR Jrand73. You and DR Ginny, both. Put yer special safety specs on, and enjoy.

Oh, look! It's Page Four! :D

Palm Springs!!!!???
I will take that under advisement, DR Jrand73. ;D
We have tickets to tour the interior of Sunnylands, the Annenberg (TV Guide) estate which became a conference center for Presidents.
-
Thank you, DR ChasSmith, for the in-person report from last night. I was watching the livestream along with y’all and teared up at Doug’s remarks about DR Elmore in the intermission video.
Will that be part of the archived version?

Sure hope so!

I still have a set from the last time we had a viewable eclipse in this area. :)

If I remember correctly, the opera singer Heidi Grant Murphy went to Indiana University. We were at Western Washington University at the same time (she was Heidi Lynn Grant then), and even had a couple of classes together. :)
-
I am right in the path of The Eclipse and will enjoy it on that day.
Cool! 😎

Gratuitous Post #100!!
-
Sure hope so!
I do, too, especially since these things are often pre-recorded anyway. I'm assuming (and we all know what that means) this one was, too, but I don't know that.
-
Well, I should make a start by doing the recycling, shaving, and starting the laundry.
-
Exciting, I know.
-
Later will be picking up the dry cleaning, getting a haircut and a pedicure (not at the same time), and dropping off a birthday gift for a celebration that will fall while we are out of town.
-
DR Jrand7, I have added Palm Springs Weekend into my movie queue. Thank you! :)

I have, too, DR ChasSmith. DR Elmore and I have a mutual friend who has a graduate degree from there in opera production. When she lived here in Middletown I traveled with her to Bloomington for their production of CARMEN.

Good morning, all.
-
At 7 am, I was at a plant sale. Picked up a budding hydrangea and a bougainvillea. Later, I found bargain roses and bought two.
-
I then planted the plants, did a little weeding and pruned two hibiscus plants that I thought were dead but are showing tiny leaves.
-
A load of laundry is in.
-
Time for a break.
-
My legs are killing me today, so as soon as kitty cleanup is over, I'm doing little as possible the rest of the day. Beyond watching two ballet performans and listening to a few CDs, I'm taking it easy.
You deserve a day to relax and bask in your well-deserved accolades :-*

Wait, you mean to tell me they weren't even invited to sit in tge VIP section and to the caviar and champagne gala afterwards?!
I'm surprised they're still speaking to you!
Did they still.allow you to share their bed or were you relegated to a box in the kitchen?

I couldn't risk inviting them. Annabelle would habe done nothing but ask embarrassing questions, like "so why didn't you help talented friends like me get a leadig role?" Stella would have banged that damned tambourine through out the ballet, and pool little Thatch! he's so afrad of strangers, he might have gone into hiding and I'd still be looking for him under the seats. We're all going to watch the performances today from the safety of home.

Kitty cleanup is over, so I am half-dozing here at the computer.

I expected this train to be basically empty this morning
-
But apparently the baseball is starting today and the train is packed with fans
-
There is a fellow in his twenties drinking from a brown paper bag
-
I suspect he's been drinking for some time as he is loudly abd profanely explaining to the world at large just how much he is looking forward to his chosen entertainment for the day.

I, myself, am.looking forward to the stop at Forest Hills.
-
There is a fellow in his twenties drinking from a brown paper bag
Don’t sit next to him, DR Vixmom!
-
We have been informed, many, many times, this is where he intends to debark.
-
We took a train once from Bloomington, IL, into Chicago for ALA. It was the day of the celebration for the Black Hawks’ Stanley Cup victory and the train was full of fans.
-
Congratulations DR Elmore on your grand success yesterday!
-
Thanks DR George for the paper tech explanation. It's interesting to hear these things from a stage manager perspective. When I hear "tech rehearsal" I think of fun things like cue-to-cue.
-
We have been informed, many, many times, this is where he intends to debark.
Is he off the train yet?
-
I once attended a conference at Indiana University and we got a tour of the main theater. I recall that the backstage and wings are all the same size as the main stage. And of course their main stage is far larger than our little stage. Heck, at our theater you have to go outside to cross.
-
After a very long wait, Hard by a Great Forest by Leo Vardiashvili, the book I accidentally returned to the library is finally mine to read again :)
-
Vixmom, my church service yesterday was just like yours.
-
Luckily, that gentleman on the train had his tickets for Manhattan Theatre Club for another day.
-
Are you safely in New York, vixmom?
-
This brings to mind the song from The Roches, containing the line:
Once you get on
You might never get off
Of the commuter train.
-
I'm up, I'm up - just about eight hours of sleep.
-
Doesn't go very far
Away
But just the same...
It's a trip and a half.
-
Awakened by a telephonic call from Barry Pearl.
-
Glad to hear the glowing report from ChasSmith. My intention is to watch the stream at 4:30 my time.
-
Weird dreams.
-
I wonder if, as we get older, the dreams get weirder.
-
I wish I weren't tech challenged. I've never been able to figure out how to "cast" from my phone to the TV. Then, I could watch the ballet on the big screen.
-
I used to have very pleasant and non-weird dreams.
-

“Give it up for Larry Moore!”
Followed by whoops and applause.

I am, too.
I wasn't sure if you were in it or close enough to drive to it. Enjoy.
-
I have a friend who is traveling to Fredericksburg for the total eclipse.
-
I am watching The Ballet and now we are at intermission.
-
The matinee is going well. I like the cast, and the aging actress Pam is much better than last night's; she's really funny!
-

She is indeed. I like it when attempted to do the splits and only got partway down. An oldie but goodie.
-
This second act piece for the corps is lovely.
-
Had some pasta, and shall now be on my way to the mail place to retrieve a package and hopefully two important envelopes.
-
I had to run out during the latter part of Act 1, and got back in time to start Act 2.
Did they show the intermission piece?
That whole Dreamland sequence is stunning. My jaw was hitting the floor last night when viewing it on the theater sized screen, but it's still wonderful.
-
I'm listening on my desktop audio monitors, so maybe it's just that I'm in control of setting a satisfying volume, but I could almost think the orchestra is playing even better than last night. As they probably should be doing, being more and more comfortable with the whole thing.

I love my H-E-B

-
That ending was just joyous. I feel happy just watching them.
-
OMG....one of the best things I have seen EVER!
I loved it.
-
It’s even better the second time!
-
It should be part of the repertoire in schools across the land.
-
I, too, enjoyed Pam....what a character.
-
It’s even better the second time!
Yes!
-
Talk Back.
-
Phil looks like he just came in from refereeing a soccer game.....
-
I'll be watching it in about three hours.
-
Back from the mail place - both important envelopes were there as was the Amazon package, which contained the softcover of Directed by. It looks really nice. I should have the one from the publisher plus the hardcover shortly.
-
OMG - Doug was the Sibelius arteest (Sibelius being the music notation software, not the composer).
I'd imagined there was some nameless person locked in a closet somewhere, slaving over a hot computer.
-
DR Elmore, will this new score be published?
-
My connection faltered during the q&a, thankfully not during the performance.
-
Bravo, Mr. Moore.
-
Seven!
-
Beautiful seven!
-
Lucky seven!
-
Uncared-for seven!
-
Thanks DR George for the paper tech explanation. It's interesting to hear these things from a stage manager perspective. When I hear "tech rehearsal" I think of fun things like cue-to-cue.
That happened today. We just finished a run through of act one, now we're breaking and waiting for food. Then, we'll run act two and see what happens after that. :)
-
I'm now on the train home
-
It was a lovely uncrowded quiet train car
-
Then we stopped at Forest Hills
-
Apparently the game is over
-
And the fans are trashed
-
How was your show, DR Vixmom?
-
I am now sharing a 6 seater ( 2 rows facing one another ) with a silent young woman, her suitcase. a silent young man, his backpack and an inebriated fan in his late 40's
-
How was your show, DR Vixmom?
It was beautiful! Touching and sad and hopeful.
-
The acting was perfect, they were all so, so REAL.
I felt I knew these people

It closes 2 weeks from tomorrow.
-
I went to the boxoffice after the show and bought a front row center seat for the final performance
-
I urge anyone in the NY area to try and see this show before it closes.
-
OMG - Doug was the Sibelius arteest (Sibelius being the music notation software, not the composer).
I'd imagined there was some nameless person locked in a closet somewhere, slaving over a hot computer.
When Doug and I had our first meetingm I asked about a copyist. I saidtat Indiana wasn't paying enough to hire a copyist. Doug saud he would do it. I think he liked hearing how the score sounded as he entered the parts. He also conducts the Tudor Choir and they have wonderful CDs on Amazon. He's very talented.

Is there a problem with the site? I cannot post a photo.
-
I can't either.

-
DR Elmore, will this new score be published?
I don't know. My publisher is interested in handling rentals, and Doug, Phil, and I want to assemble an orchestra suite. But I don't know about publishing the full ballet score.
-
I love my H-E-B

I do, too, and I've never been in one but I know what a great store they are.
This is beyond belief.
(Anyone following along, the printed transcript on that page is abbreviated. Listen to the first ten minutes of the broadcast to get it all. If you can stomach it. Frankly, I'm amazed that a "Texas Public Radio" can even exist. Sorry, Texans.)
-
I once attended a conference at Indiana University and we got a tour of the main theater. I recall that the backstage and wings are all the same size as the main stage. And of course their main stage is far larger than our little stage. Heck, at our theater you have to go outside to cross.
Actually, here at Lakewood Playhouse, there are a couple of the actors also have to go outside for crosses and entrances.
-
“Give it up for Larry Moore!”
Followed by whoops and applause.
That's great!
-
I'm listening on my desktop audio monitors, so maybe it's just that I'm in control of setting a satisfying volume, but I could almost think the orchestra is playing even better than last night. As they probably should be doing, being more and more comfortable with the whole thing.
The orchestra is playing better today, and I expect they will play even better tonight.
-
That ending was just joyous. I feel happy just watching them.
Did I fix the Charleston?
-
OMG....one of the best things I have seen EVER!
I loved it.
Can't wait to see it!
-
Back from the mail place - both important envelopes were there as was the Amazon package, which contained the softcover of Directed by. It looks really nice. I should have the one from the publisher plus the hardcover shortly.
Nice!
-
I went to the boxoffice after the show and bought a front row center seat for the final performance
That's cool!
-
I got that error when trying to post a photo earlier this morning.
-
More happy news about the ballet.

And on that note, I have FINALLY been successful in "casting" video from my phone to the teevee!
-
Not an intuitive process with my older than dust cheap teevee, but now it works.
-
I can't either.
"Your attachment couldn't be saved. This might happen because it took too long to upload or the file is bigger than the server will allow.

I just got the same message. :-\
-
And on that note, I have FINALLY been successful in "casting" video from my phone to the teevee!
Hoo and Ray! :D
-
It was a lovely uncrowded quiet train car
:)
-
Then we stopped at Forest Hills
Oh no.
-
Apparently the game is over
Groan.
-
And the fans are trashed
::)
-
I am now sharing a 6 seater ( 2 rows facing one another ) with a silent young woman, her suitcase. a silent young man, his backpack and an inebriated fan in his late 40's
At least you have your phone to look at instead of them ;)
-
I thought DR vixmom was going to say that the same guy got back on the train in her car.
-
:)
-
I thought DR vixmom was going to say that the same guy got back on the train in her car.
I was afraid of that, too!
-
My favorite parts I think were the Rodeo and the Train Station parts where they were filming the movie.
In addition to the dancing - I liked the Clapper Board guy and the guy in the black shirt who kept getting a knee to the chest when he turned his partner....
And the little guy in the blue shirt that took the place of one of the sextet girl dancers.....he was on it!
The Charleston was great DR ELMORE.....and so much fun. And everyone onstage seemed to be having a wonderful time!
-
I am enjoying reading about all of the special services......
-
Glad to hear that MR BK got the important envelopes.
-
I'm trying to think of a movie that fits the TOD that is NOT The Miracle Worker.
I'm guessing Mr. Holland's Opus would be close.
-
I mowed my yard today.
-
I've alerted our host about the photos. Hasn't happened for a while, but something got changed in the settings - he'll fix it.
-
So, when I go to the site for the ballet - where exactly do I watch - is it on the screen that comes up that's showing coming attractions or somewhere else.
-
Donald is also having trouble posting tomorrow's radio show, so something got screwy somewhere.
-
Okay, someone post a photo now.
-
As quickly as possible so I can let them know it worked.
-
So, when I go to the site for the ballet - where exactly do I watch - is it on the screen that comes up that's showing coming attractions or somewhere else.
It will be on the screen, and like YouTube you can enlarge the picture to fill the entire computer screen; around 7:20 the screen should open to a lot of audience chatter and orchestra tuning.
-
My goddaughter Charlotte and I last night.
-
Yay! A photo!
-
Good, working.
-
Nice to see Charlotte. She's all growed up.
-
As am I.
-
I'm all growed up.
-
Or out.
-
Nine is fine.
-
Nice to see Charlotte. She's all growed up.
I think she's around 32-33 now.
-
DR ChasSmith, did you take the photos of me and Charlotte?
-
Just last night and I have no memory!
-
DR ChasSmith, did you take the photos of me and Charlotte?
Sadly, no - I was taking my phone out just then, and missed the chance. I'm very glad that one exists.
-
BK, at the right bottom of the screen there are two arrows; they will enloarge the screen.
-
I had Chinese for dinner for the firsdt time tonight in months. Sezchuan shrimp, very tasty.
-
DR ChasSmith, did you take the photos of me and Charlotte?
Sadly, no - I was taking my phone out just then, and missed the chance. I'm very glad that one exists.
Oy! Then who did?
-
Ten minutes to show time.
-
Yes, the full screen on this is beautiful, at least on my MacBook. And be sure to route the audio to decent speakers.

Oh! You don't know whose that is? I'm trying to remember. It seemed like two or three people were going for it.
-

Are you watching again?

That's a lovely picture, Larry!
-
Wow! Page Nine by 5:00 pm west coast time! :D
-
So, our cue-to-cue went quite well, as did the run-through afterward.
-
Then, we did a speed-through of just speeding through the lines of act two without walking the blocking and that went well, too.
-
Our director was pleased with everyone.
-
For the lunch break, she brought a catered spread from Panera, which was also pretty good.
-
Among other things, she got two large Mediterranean salad (mostly for the couple of vegetarians in the troup), but one whole salad was uneaten.
-
The salad that was partially eaten was taken by an actress in the show, and I took the whole uneaten salad to bring to my family gathering at my sister's tomorrow.
-
Score! ;D
-
And now, I must hie myself to home!
Be back later.
-
I am watching The Ten Commandments and also streaming the ballet!
Couldn't resist.
-
This is a very good cast, but I think I liked a couple of the matinee folks better....
-
Intermission! I think this is the best Sol, Nikki, and Pam.
-
Pam really made me laugh.
-
This is a very good cast, but I think I liked a couple of the matinee folks better....
This is really wonderful! Fabulous show all around!
I wonder which one will be kept as the archived version on the university site, or maybe all three will be.
-
Congratulations, Larry!
-
Damn it to HELL, we just lost a bunch of internet here. I thought it was the broadcast at first, but I trust no one else had any problems. It's back now, anyway.
-
Intermission! I think this is the best Sol, Nikki, and Pam.
Maybe it’s because I now know what’s going on, but I find these 3 the most believable. Especially Sol & Nikki - they have Chemistry!
-
That ending was just joyous. I feel happy just watching them.
Did I fix the Charleston?
It sounded fine, but seemed a little muted. Don’t know if that were my sound system.
-
Due to a series of unfortunate events which I don't care to discuss I missed the live broadcast tonight.
I will have go look for the archived footage on YouTube
-
I am bummed out
-
DR VIXMOM it looks like a lot of stuff is archived ON DEMAND.....so there's no reason to think this won't be!
-
God is talking to Moses Moses.
-
I was enthralled from start to finish. A big WOW! DR elmore3003's work shines like a beacon.
-
Thrilling.
-
A delightful ballet and excellent work by elmore. What an undertaking!
-
Bravo!
-
Looks like they are going to stream the talkback.
-

Yes, could be that we understand more what we're seeing this time, which is natural, but those personalities tonight were astounding.
-
Looks like they are going to stream the talkback.
They streamed this afternoon's as well.
-
Wow! Page Nine by 5:00 pm west coast time! :D
See? Easy peasy. You've just gotta run a couple of ballets!
-

Thank you, BK! I'm really proud of my work on this.

It needs work. I'll fix it.
-
At DR Elmore's talk, they showed us clips of the original opera and the outlandish "exotic" things they're talking about now.
It actually made me think of - I forget the title - "La Salaambo" or something - Bernard Herrmann's "opera" in Citizen Kane.
-
I mean ballet. Not opera. Sheesh.
-
Wow! Page Nine by 5:00 pm west coast time! :D
See? Easy peasy. You've just gotta run a couple of ballets!
It's like a virtual HHW after-party! Like after we went out to the eating establishment after an HHW group saw Larry's work on "The New Yorkers."
-
Not only are they young and toned, these kids are articulate!
-
Well, that was magnificent. On top of an already magnificent weekend.
And now I must relent, get up, and feed a very vocal cat who usually eats around 9:00 pm eastern.
-
I am glad that you don't have to play tomorrow morning, DR ChasSmith.
-
I have to get up at 5:45AM to sing.
-
But at least I don't have to sing "The Trumpet Shall Sound." This year.
-
If this ballet doesn't lead to more productions and more work offers for DR elmore3003, there is no justice.
-
I thought the orchestra played their best tonight.

Work offers would be nice!

:)

I thought the orchestra played their best tonight.
It was fun hearing things (like the violin solo) that you had talked about here, and the struggles and challenges along the way.
-
I am intrigued by the whole approach of re-imagining work that has become problematic in one way or another.
-
Now I am curious to go listen to a recording of the traditional version, for contrast.
-
iTunes has a version by the English Chamber Orchestra under Richard Bonynge and a version by The Evergreen Symphony Orchestra.
-
Is some HHWer going to win the billion dollar PowerBall drawing tonight?
-
Thanks for inviting us along this weekend, DR Elmore! Now I have to do something other than stare at my iPad screen - ‘night!
-
Good night, friends.
-
Is some HHWer going to win the billion dollar PowerBall drawing tonight?
Not me, I’m ticketless
-
Went two-stepping tonight at the Cowboys Dance Hall, a country-western joint fairly close to my house. It was loud and obnoxious.
-
But I had fun dancing.
-
Lots of lesbian couples out there and at least one gay couple. That was nice to see.
-
And now I must sleep.
-
Good night, all.

With my rehearsals, I didn't even have the opportunity to watch any of the live broadcasts. :(
-
But I'm definitely looking forward to the archived version :D
-
Is it available yet??

Wow! Page Nine by 5:00 pm west coast time! :D
See? Easy peasy. You've just gotta run a couple of ballets!

Yikes!

But I had fun dancing.
That's the important part.

Cool!

We just got back from seeing the musical Once. I loved the movie and liked the show. More thoughts on that tomorrow.

That's great, MichaelG! I got to usher for a national tour a few years ago. It was a wonderful production and I love the show.
-
Larry loved the show, also. He can expound on how he feels about it, but I'm really glad I got to see a professional production.
-
Oh, look! It's Page TWELVE!! :D
-
And since we're so close...
-
Gratuitous Post #333!!! ;D ;D ;D

New notes are up.

Up are new notes.

I've seen them.

I've read them.

I wrote them.

Fun to be on page twelve.
