So last night, we had our first run-through of Incorruptible with costumes (still need some work) and props (don't have them all) and lights (looked great) and sound (sounded great). We ran act one twice (it was much better the second time), and then ran act two. The show went pretty well...for the first time with most (if not all) props and costumes. The show is pretty solid with some fumfering, but they got through it. Notes were given and then we all went home.
-
Good morning, friends.

I don't have a lot to say.

I need to pack for my flight tomorrow.

I was still exhausted from Sunday , by time I got home yesterday it was after 8

I filed my taxes yesterday and paid off my accountant, so it turned out to be a pretty good day.

Made dinner ( thank goodness for leftovers!) but it was still after 9 by time we ate

Cleaned up the kitchen, loaded and ran the dishwasher and went to bed

Feeling somewhat more rested this morning

Of course, I have no more money until my return or Social Security comes in, hopefully within three-four weeks.

What kind of printer are you thinking about? We need to get one too .

Ok coffee check, recliner, check, Wordle…
-
I usually miss remakes of films I like - Disney's live-action remakes of its animated classics are really poor - but I really liked the remake of The Blob.

Good morning, all.

I slept better than I often do, but I’m nevertheless dragging my ASS this morning.
More coffee, and I believe some cinnamon raisin toast might be in order.

Back to Drowsy today, just a pit rehearsal. Next week, finally, a full sitzprobe, and a first run-through.

Good morning.

JRand, I forgot "Something's Afoot" was a musical. I saw it a long time ago.

Kerry's mixer will be whirling today. I'm hosting a meeting tonight. The speaker is talking about African safaris, so I've pulled out all my leopard spotted things.

I love "Something's Afoot." I don't praise John Yap often, but I really like his recording of the score.
-
I think every remanke of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella since the Julie Andrews original has been worse than the one before.

I think every remanke of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella sdimce the Julie Andrews original has been worse than the one before.
I love the Leslie Ann Warren one. Probably because it was the one I saw when I was a little girl. And it was magical.
-
Michael G., Kerry was a a member here for many years. He lived here in town, so one day we met because of this site. It was like talking to someone I'd known all my life. We became close friends. He passed away several years ago. We all miss him dearly.
-
LOL!
-
His partner invited me to take some items from his house to remember him by. After choosing a few pretty things (plus one art item that was odd and totally Kerry), I timidly asked his partner about the Kitchen Aid mixer. I felt bad asking for something utilitarian, but the partner said he had thought about me and had set it aside for me. I use it a lot.
-
Elmore, did you see the Saturday Night Live cold open?
-
By the way, Singdaw, some of the leopard-spotting things came from Kerry. As well as some flamingo things.
-
Kerry and I have impeccable taste.

DR FREDDIE the appt. is made so we shall see what happens.
I have had good luck with Summers Heating & Cooling, so I hope my run continues.

I wish I was doing THE DROWSY CHAPERONE again - although I'm not sure I would like the WOKE version quite so much....
And I think someone smart should get MR BK to play The Man In The Chair.

DR LAURA that cold opening was probably one of the funniest of the year.

What is the woke version? - other than omitting the (wonderful) "oriental" mistake?
Which btw is in the materials, but this school isn't doing it. They told me that MTI advised - or even required, in their contract - leaving it out. (Pity. A group here did it several years, the audience totally "got" that sequence, and it was absolutely hilarious.)
(EDIT: Then again, it was adults playing to adults.)
-
Elmore, did you see the Saturday Night Live cold open?
No. After the ballet ended, it was already two hours past my usual bed time!

I have begun watching the BBC mystery series Campion with Peter Davison from the early 1980s. Has anyone watched it? I really like Davison and I'm enjoying it.

Tuesday afternoon greetings! Richard and I are “all in” for the spring term of Miami University’s Institute for Learning in Retirement, which started yesterday. For the next 5 weeks he has classes, I have classes, and we have a couple together, a mix of virtual and in-person sessions.

On This Day in 1978, Dallas premiered on American television as a five-part miniseries.
-
With its success, it was picked up as a regular recurring series, and revolutionized prime-time drama.

I don't remember who shot J.R.

But then, I never watched the show.

It is much easier to remember who shot the sheriff.

Because at least they got a song.

Beautiful, DR John G.!

I watched it in the begging and could not stay with the evening soap.

Jrand, yes, picking up the glasses tomorrow.

Back from an omelet and a small side Caesar instead of potatoes - both very good.

Today Table for Two: Fictions by Amor Towles was released.

This afternoon my library sent me an email saying I may borrow it.

I would have begun another book if I had used the treadmill today. After my appointment I walked over to the gym and told Keith I wasn't up to it.

I'm going to begin Table for Two instead.

Someone (not on this site) recommended Ordinary Human Failings, by Megan Nolan. It’s good but very depressing.

Jrand, Romantic Comedy has a nude scene for the guy - rear end.
-
I have a comedy that's never been done - it's pretty funny, but, probably a bit racy for your theater.
-
It's called Next December - I should read it again and see how it holds up, although the woke of today would probably balk at the age difference - too bad.
-
Back from a grueling road trip in the rain and an okay rehearsal.

I just ate a bowl (can) of very tasty chicken & sausage gumbo something or other soup that's probably got a week's worth of sodium in it. But the HELL with that, it was good, and I'm probably just going to follow it with some popcorn later.

-
Home from having Thai food with friends. One dish was a pad Thai made with papaya shreds instead of noodles, another was like a Thai version of lo mein, only spicier. There were soft shelled crabs and duck salad and a chicken dish that was odd but okay.
-
We are going to have to wait two weeks for another Thai dinner together as they're out of town next week.
-
I need one form that I can't find before I can finish my taxes. I've sent out an email and hope to get an answer tomorrow.
-
Otherwise it was a quiet day of dancing and gardening.
-
Got the amaryllis bulbs from this past Christmas planted.
-
The storm last night brought a new perkiness to the roses I put in the ground yesterday. That's hopeful.
-
I also managed to get a bougainvillea in a larger pot, which I think will help it. I also have it in more sun.
-
I can't remember if I posted this, but the water main around the corner from me that broke late last year has broken again. Traffic is now being rerouted through my neighborhood. I live on a dead-end street, so it doesn't come directly in front of my house.

But you add that traffic to the school traffic, and the neighborhood is backed up during school hours.

Travel Vibes for Singdaw

We had a nice visit with my mom, youngest bro and his wife
-
Now I must sleep
-
Vibes for whatever you desire
-
So .......
-
Everyone loved the refreshments. The speaker forgot to come.
-
They were trying frantically to get hold of him. I said I had a Powerpoint program at my house I could do about butterflies. So I hurried home to get it. This is the second time a speaker has been a no show.
-
When I got back a few minutes later, they said they got hold of him and he's on his way. He was about an hour late.
-
I was sitting in the office listening, and someone came to the door. An apparently homeless man with a bike, who wanted to know why churches defend homosexuality, which is an abomination.
-
I told him it was a gathering of a nature-themed group that was using the church as its meeting venue. He asked if he could charge his phone and have something to eat. I told him he could use the outdoor outlet for his phone, and he was welcome to come inside to get something to eat.
-
He stayed by his bike for a while. I looked up and didn't see him, so I went outside. He was coming out of the kitchen door, which I had left unlocked, because I go back and forth so much. He was closing up his backpack.
-
I asked him what he took, and he said nothing -- that he used the bathroom and took two cupcakes that were in the kitchen. Then he left.
-
My small backpack is missing.
-
I am not feeling very Christian tonight.
-
Luckily, I had pretty much emptied it out before I went hiking last week. There wasn't much in there, except a little folding money. My important stuff was in my pockets.
-
We are going to have to wait two weeks for another Thai dinner together as they're out of town next week.
That's too bad.
-
Oh, and I'm home.
-
I got home about 45 minutes ago, but I needed to eat something and to decompress.
-
I can't remember if I posted this, but the water main around the corner from me that broke late last year has broken again. Traffic is now being rerouted through my neighborhood. I live on a dead-end street, so it doesn't come directly in front of my house.

I'm in a similar dead-end street situation: my condo complex only has one entrance/exit, so unless people specifically need to be back here, I never see (and rarely hear) any traffic. :)
