Well, you've read the notes, the notes were both idyllic and bombastic, not necessarily in that order, and now it is time for you to post until the idyllic and bombastic cows come home.

Good morning, all!
-
Good morning, all.
-
I am very tired these days, and that's had me worried about such matters as the body closing down. When I went back to the Drama Book Shop in 1985, we had an elderly cashier who had acted with the Barrymores on Broadway in the 1930s. One Friday, around 1990, I asked him how he was and he said, I've been really tired these days. On Monday, his body was found.
I don't6 know that I'm dying, but I've been awfully tired this past week, and my legs are not working well at all.
-
I have no plans today, so I'm taking it easy. Tomorrow, Doug and I are back to the Act Two corrections.
-
Even more modern major miracle vibes for BK, and eye vibes as well!

George, glad to hear last night's performance went so well

Happy Sunday! The latest Broadway Radio Show is up on the site!
http://www.haineshisway.com/the-broadway-radio-show-2/
This week I am chatting with Michael John LaChiusa about his most recent musical The Gardens of Anuncia and the cast recording that has just been released as well as his long collaboration with director/choreographer Graciela Daniele, whose life inspired the show. It's a lovely, fun score...check out the interview!

I had a nice HOT shower today.....and I shall be heading out to the auditions in a bit.

DR MichaelG which suburbs did you live in? We lived in Bloomfield Township twice, the first time behind the Franklin Cider Mill, returning after a year in Conneticut to live off of Lone Pine between Lahser & Telegraph.

A San Antonio film commission event for VIVA MAX! was six years ago today, which was about the movie but we were honored to have the demo of our musical version included there that day.
We were thrilled that John G was there that evening, and had even posted about it. John G's post from April 7 2018 was the Facebook memory that came up today.

Spent the night in Vancouver after we saw Hairspray. Took Edna Turnblad out to dinner before the show and I met him afterwards and he dished on the production. The kids enjoyed their major theatre experience. A fun time for all.

We lived - in Detroit - just west of the Southfield Freeway, between Joy Road and West Chicago. We also loved the Franklin Cider Mill, but after my parents moved to Northville when I was in college, we discovered Parmenter’s.

Nice. At first I wondered what you were doing down here-lol
-
I had 10 1/2 hours of sleep last night. They were much needed after yesterday's exhausting pace of spring cleaning. Miles to go, too.
I cleaned out kitchen cabinets (a couple) that had many things long expired. Stuff my mom bought. Some from before I retired. One item expired in 2004. It was in the back of a cabinet, and I'm sure my mom forgot it was there.
It's not the throwing away that bothers me. It's the hauling things out to the trash that exhaust me.

We have lived in ten homes, eight states. Our boys think of Michigan as home since they spent most of their school years there.

Michael, waking up every morning to the smells of apple cider and mill donuts was heavenly. Even after I could not eat one more of those delicious, yet greasy, donuts I would indulged in baked goods at home.
-
I wish I knew where they got their candy corn because it was by far the best candy corn I have ever eaten. I have yet to find any that comes close.
-
The creek at the cider mill ran behind our house which overlooked a ravine.

When we've done that, having cleared the extra space feels good long after the exhaustion of throwing the stuff out.

When Craig was living with us in Ashland he went through all of our cabinets and dumped stuff we must have moved from Michigan to California, and then to Oregon. He reduced our liquer cabinet to a quater of the original size. We had a lot of liquer from when we entertained from Keith's work that we never drank and was too old since it had been opened.

Even though you weren't that far away from where we were, I don't think I ever went to Northville or the cider mill. I can't be sure as I took many day trips with friends and don't remember the names of everywhere we went.
-
DR Jane, I had a love/hate relationship with Northville. It was my parents’ home for 15 years, but I only lived there during college summers when I would rather have been in Ann Arbor. And after 4 years I left SE Michigan for SW Ohio - almost 51 years ago.

Yes, that was in Jan. 2018, a 90-minute version of the show through Theater Resources Unlimited at the Actors Temple, which was directed by Evan Pappas.

Yes, but the challenge was that I didn’t go home for the summer to the neighborhood where I’d grown up. I’ve always believed that I didn’t get homesick at college because we’d moved the day after I got home from freshman orientation. There really wasn’t a home for me to get sick for.

The Darling Daughter has left - we had a fine visit, then she had her birthday dinner at the Smokehouse. She had the fish and chips and declared them the best she's ever had, the tartar sauce as the best she's ever had, and the coleslaw as the best she's ever had. We got a half order of the garlic cheese bread and I allowed myself one piece.
-
Otherwise, I had a cup of clam chowder (a bit thin this time), a shrimp cocktail (amazing), and a Caesar salad with chicken, so filling I had to take half home with me.
-
The convention is over and we are home

It was fun but exhausting

True, but she did pick up and move to Arizona when our son was an infant. I was so upset and fearful that he’d grow up not knowing her well. We worked hard at sustaining that relationship and it turned out OK.

I have shelves of empty Mason jars to box up and put/give away, as well as at least two shelves loaded with coffee mugs, etc. Mom didn't like to throw stuff away. It's not that she minded, but that once she put something on a shelf, she didn't feel any need to take it down and get rid of it if she didn't need the space for something else.
-
In truth, the hardest part of this cleaning is getting rid of "mom stuff"...nothing she had any personal attachment to, but stuff she had partially used and then wrapped up and put back on the shelf.
Sigh.
-
This August 30th, my mom will have been deceased six years. I don't think she's going to miss any of that stuff.
-
It's late.
Morbid are us for some reason.
-
I guess I can get us to page 6.
-
Just one more after this one. Will leave the actual turn of the page to the next person who shows up to post.

Oh, I guess that's me!
Page Six!
-
It's late.
Morbid are us for some reason.
I used to shop at Morbid Are Us. Or lingered there long.
-
Poor Things has really good performances, but the script is banal. And the direction is too self-conscious
-
Not enough energy for the last 40 minutes tonight.
-
And we're off!
Have fun :)
Thanks, Jane! I did!
-
And the audience enjoyed it.
-
Thanks, Jack and George, for the likes on FB!
You're welcome, Freddie!
-
He actually took it because I’m terrible at selfies
The picture didn't show up for me. :-\
-
And we're off!
That looks like fun!
It's a fun show.
-
FIVE!

Sweet!
-
The Darling Daughter has left - we had a fine visit, then she had her birthday dinner at the Smokehouse. She had the fish and chips and declared them the best she's ever had, the tartar sauce as the best she's ever had, and the coleslaw as the best she's ever had. We got a half order of the garlic cheese bread and I allowed myself one piece.
Great news on all the bests!
-
Good night, all.
-
After the show today, my friend David (who came down from Seattle to see the show) and I went to HopsnDrops and I had the fish tacos.
-
Good night, all.
Good night, John.
-
Then we are going to watch a new show called "Sugar" with Colin Farrell as a PI.
Does he go undercover as Daphne or Josie?? ;D
-
Finished with my viewing and had the rest of my chicken Caesar salad.
-
I don't think I should do any sweets tonight.
-
I mean, I have lots of pudding cups but no whipped cream and what is a damn pudding cup without damn whipped cream.
-
I'm sorry, I just don't get it. No posts in two HOURS. New notes coming shortly. George just up and disappears for three HOURS?
-
I just don't get it.
-
I don't.
-
I won't.
-
I can't.
-
I shan't.
-
And what excuse will there be - a burrito, canned tuna, fell asleep, went out for late-night food, rabbit hole?
-
This is wrong on so many levels, specifically levels three and five.
-
I had a pudding cup sans whipped cream. The Darling Daughter did bring me my beloved cherry loaf and a lemon loaf, so I've got those for sweets this week and just have to allow for those calories.
-
No George.
-
Not here.
-
Gone.
-
Keeping us on page six.
-
And page seven.
-
Which I do not care for.
-
Oh well, nothing to be done about it.
-
And why do I feel that he's not even reading a book?
-
I know not.
-
Not I know.
-
Some things are just conundrums.
-
And enigmas.
-
I'm sorry, I just don't get it. No posts in two HOURS. New notes coming shortly. George just up and disappears for three HOURS?
I fell asleep. Sorry. ::)
-
I, myself, am both a conundrum AND an enigma wrapped inside a tortilla of unknown origin.
-
I fell asleep. Jeez.
-
I fell asleep. Jeez.
Even YOU have fallen asleep when you didn't want to. It happens.
-
I have never fallen asleep. I am up all the time. Since I was born.
-
It's a rare condition known us "Up All the Time"
-
Did you fall asleep AGAIN?
-
I have never fallen asleep. I am up all the time. Since I was born.
Riiiiiiiight. ;)
-
I only pretend to sleep.
-
Just to fool people.
-
I'm tellin' you.
-
I am not going.
-
I don't know.
-
So, you're just acting asleep.
-
Are you ever getting back to finishing a book?
-
Yes, and I'm a VERY good actor.
-
Yes?
-
No?
-
Maybe?
-
The twelfth of never?
-
In this lifetime?
-
On page eight?
-
Are you ever getting back to finishing a book?
I'm at chapter seven. I have lots of downtime during the show, but I wanted to get used to everything before I attempt to read the book while managing the stage.
-
Now that the first weekend is done, I feel that I can get some reading done WHILE being attentive to the show.
-
But I also now have time in the evenings.
