Well, you've read the notes, the notes danced, and now it is time for you to post until the dancing cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: REMUNERATE!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
Topic of the Day: I wasn't really ever a fan of ballet music on its own. I certainly could appreciate seeing a ballet and appreciating the whole experience, but I've always preferred music with vocals.

When I can!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept rather well last night. I had a strange dream involving friends I worked with around 1970-72, a film festival of some sort, and a dinner.
-
I'm still moving cautiously, and my hip is still tender where I landed on Saturday morning.
-
I have no plans for the day.

TOD
Tchaikovsky's three ballets: Swan Lake, Nutcracker, and The Sleeping Beauty
Delibes: Coppelia
Ravel: Daphnis & Chloe
Stravinsky: Petruchka, Pulcinella
Bernstein: Fancy Free

Good morning, friends.
-
Thanks for answering my question, BK.
-
Welcome home, DR Rodzinski.
-
It's today!
-
~~~CONTINUED HEALING VIBES~~~ for DR elmore3003!
-
.
-
Who decides these things?
-
Welcome back to DR RODZINSKI.
-
I shall defer to DR ELMORE for the TOD.
-
I’m not caught up,
-
I don’t know what to do about this fatigue
-
I went to church, took the train to the show, saw the show, took the train home, Vixdad took me to dinner at the Roadhouse abd we were home by 830
-
When I promptly fell asleep until this morning
-
Anyway I must get to work
Let me see if I can Wordle quickly
Last night, I had a very long, involved dream about being a fugitive of justice, and trying to evade authorities.
-
Quite unpleasant.
-
PAGE TWO!
-
Had I been a fugitive from the fashion police, that would have made more sense.
-
Welcome back, Rodzinski!
More healing vibes for Larry
Glazed Spiral Ham Day and Tax Day on the same day!
-
Good morning, all.
-
In addition to Elmore's choices, I will add:
Within the Quota, Cole Porter
Giselle, Adam
-
I keep having a dream about being involved in new charity projects that somehow keep complementing each other and merging together. In the latest, a shelter is added to the growing list.
-
It's getting too hot at night. Even with two fans on.
-
I don't want to do air conditioning just yet
-
I don't want to do air conditioning just yet
It hit 84 degrees here yesterday. AC essential at this time.
-
I'm glad DR Rodzinski got back in one piece and is resuming his left coast responsibilities.
Sorry about the ear buds. You can get those rubber thingies replaced, though, can't you?
The music in "Oppenheimer" was used excessively, and noisily, at all the wrong moments. It's a Christopher Nolan oddity, IMO. It happens in a lot of his films.
-
DR JohnG: I am intrigued by the street corn devilled eggs.
Would you be willing to share the recipe?
-
So...is anyone going to watch tRump's trial? ::)
;)
Now that my housekeeping is finished, I'm watching the updates on MSNBC!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Probably best to evade the authorities whenever possible, DR singdaw.
-
I'm so late on things this year, it's ridic -- and here we are on tax day!
So guess who just filed an extension on his tax return.
I know I'm getting a refund, at least, and not owing -- but I'm inexplicably missing a couple of documents that are Around Here Somewhere. If anyone can point me to them, I'll be grateful. And I won't take until October to file the return, it'll be done within the next couple of weeks.
Still... sheesh.
-
It looks like DR JOHN G found his eggplate - maybe DR CHAS SMITH's documents are nearby.
-
We lost a cast member and gained a new one....so we shall see what happens.
-
So...is anyone going to watch tRump's trial? ::)
Now that my housekeeping is finished, I'm watching the updates on MSNBC!
I'm listening to MSNBC's simulcast on SiriusXM.
Tonight we are learning staging and dancing for "Kansas City".
"Kansas City" vibes!
DR John the Mexican street corn deviled eggs are pretty. Are they also spicy?
-
From DR Singdaw:
Leon Fleisher lost the use of his right hand, but still had quite a career. He commissioned many works for the left hand alone.
Wow!
-
;)
-
Then, near the end of his life, he tried a stem cell therapy and regained the use of his right hand for playing.
Amazing.
-
From DR Singdaw:
I was kind of glad to not have to listen to what the closed captions constantly referred to as “eerie music intensifies.”
As one you uses CC all the time, and can also hear the music.... :))
-
From DR George:
Never a bad thing...except to vegetarians (sorry, Jane ;) ).
LOL, of course my first thought was then I won't be able to eat them.
-
From George:
So, Erin, the director of Incorruptible, recommended me for stage managing to the people who run (started/own) Dukesbay Productions.
That was a nice compliment from her.
-
George I hope they offer you a nice paying job.
John G did you check the cabinet above the refrigerator for your egg plate?
-
Welcome home to Rodzinski
-
John I am glad to hear your battery was covered by warrant
-
Good luck with your new cast member, Jack
-
I am sure WFO will update me on THE trial tonight
Vixdad regaled me with tales last night of the defendant talking about how beautiful the battle of Gettysburg was and :quoting" Lee speaking as either a pirate or Irishman.
Also he seemed to express some surprise that the man led the insurrection against the US government " was not so popular these days"
May all such traitors, including the defendant cease to be popular and be treated with disdain they deserve.
In addition to BK's no call about glasses and no messages about hardcover, I'd just like to add:
No mail delivery.
It's already three hours or more late, and I didn't even see a USPS vehicle when I was just out and about.
-
There's no obscure holiday noted on my calendar, so what's up?
Solar flares?
Anybody getting rained on by frogs?
-
Other than it being a Monday, of course.
Which it indeed is, in case no one noticed.
It's the third aggravating sonuvabitching Monday in a row for me, too. Although the last two were worse, so I guess things are looking up.
John G did you check the cabinet above the refrigerator for your egg plate?
That is where Mom used to keep it. It's not there
-
It looks like DR JOHN G found his eggplate - maybe DR CHAS SMITH's documents are nearby.
That was a small one, not the party-sized one
-
DR John the Mexican street corn deviled eggs are pretty. Are they also spicy?
No. They have spices in t hem, but no heat.
-
No calls. No emails. Messages left re hardcover.
-
John G did you check the cabinet above the refrigerator for your egg plate?
LOL, that is a good suggestion. It has been a long time since I have had a refrigerator with space on top of it.
If you haven't seen it yet:
Olivier winning actor Tom Francis singing the title song from "Sunset Boulevard"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVKGIscnLyU
Andrew Lloyd Webber himself makes a sort-of guest appearance (via cardboard cut-out) at around 2:07 into that video.
-
If you're gonna have a plate of deviled eggs, it has gotta be party-sized.
-
That's what I think.
Thanks for sharing the recipe, DR John G.
When my family plays Scrabble®, we have our own house rules: everyone gets a printout of all the two-letter words, and you can look up words at any time to see if the word you're thinking of is a real word. No one challenges the validity of words because we can confirm that they're real. ::)
;)
-
The film vs the book?
The film.
-
I was glad I didn't know the story beforehand.
-
The film wasn't Chariots of Fire, but it wasn't too bad.
-
No glasses call. No call about hardcover, however, I got an email from the shipper saying it will be here tomorrow.
-
Had a Stanley's salad for food - Amy's Grapefruit salad: butter lettuce, shredded chicken, sesame seeds, cashew nuts, and avocado. Same dressing as the Chinese chicken salad - very good. Later, did a Gelson's run for she of the Evil Eye was out of a few things - I got some fresh chicken noodle soup for a snack, came home and ate it - very good.
Yup. We're not hardcore players.
My favorite two-letter Scrabble word is ai. It's a type of sloth.
-
Lightning and a little rain tonight. Most welcome for the plants.
-
I bought something too disgusting to pass up today and, well, disgusting is the appropriate word: Cheeseburger ridged potato chips. They taste mostly of mustard powder mixed with the choose from blue box mac and cheese with some sugar (sweet pickle? ketchup?)
-
The other limited edition flavor was pepperoni pizza roll ridged potato chips.
-
Now watching Story of Floating Weeds, a silent Japanese film from Yasujiro Ozu about an acting troupe on vacation. It's lovely and sweet and bittersweet. He would remake the movie 35 years or so later as simply Floating Weeds. Both films are in the box set.
-
And how were they? :)
-
The book was wonderful. I'll let you know if I think the movie come close, when I eventually see it.
Appreciated.
-
So, we have Hitchcock and the two versions of The Man Who Knew Too Much. And we have Ozu with two versions of Floating Weeds. Anybody else remake his own work?
-
And how were they? :)
I didn't buy the pepperoni ones.
-
Right. Why use more letters, when two will do?
One more.
Reading a psychological suspense thriller right now, Kill All Your Darlings, by David Bell. It's about writers, as you can probably tell from the title.
-
Good night, friends.
That sounds warm and civilized!
So, we have Hitchcock and the two versions of The Man Who Knew Too Much. And we have Ozu with two versions of Floating Weeds. Anybody else remake his own work?
Does Cecil B DeMille and The Ten Commandments count as a director remaking his own movie, or are the two movies too different to make the second a remake?
-
I wouldn't mind these. I think I've had pizza flavored Pringles before.
I guess. And Frank Capra remade Lady for a Day as Pocketful of Miracles
The Story of Floating Weeds was quite wonderful..I will watch the remake later.
Good night, all.
Well, this is really cool:
Washington Is Now the Seventh State to Require LGBTQ+-Inclusive Curricula In Schools (https://www.them.us/story/washington-lgbtq-inclusive-school-curricula)
A new law will ask public schools to teach the “histories, contributions, and perspectives” of marginalized groups.
I've seen the movie Kill Your Darlings but I'm guessing it's not the same story about Alan Ginsberg, William Burroughs, Jack Kerouac (sp?) and a murder
These are over the ear big ol’ headphones but for some reason the padded ear coverings separate rather easily. Replaceable but for like $60. So just annoying.
-
I am pleased I viewed Oppenheimer with no sound.
-
When I watched the Mary Tyler Moore documentary which, for some reason, had extensive audio from Rob Reiner and like 10 seconds of Carl Reiner, the movie went into how she took over for Tom Conti in Whose Life Is It Anyway? And I thought, wonder what Tom Conti is up to these days. And then of course he shows up as Einstein in Oppenheimer. Go know.
George's last post was at nine-thirty.
-
What - he fell asleep again?
-
Really?
-
He WILL be held accountable for this dearth of late-night postings.
-
This is wrong.
I did not fall asleep.
Nooooooo, I had to write notes and it's already 12:40 and he's STILL not here.
I'm still here.
I didn't eat a burrito or a taco, I didn't go down a rabbit hole, I didn't go out for a late-night confab.
Well, nothing to be done about such things.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
I've seen them.
I've read them.
I wrote them.
Is there gaslighting going on?
See?
Also, I happened to find a piece of paper and on it was the sentiment that I do not care for page seven.
