Well, you've read the notes, the notes were internal and were clocked, and now it is time for you to post until the internal cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: GAMELY!
-
Welcome, 228 GUESTS!
-
Who ARE you people?
-
I was going to post this last night: the Country (not chicken) Fried Steak and Egg with Pancakes is what I got to eat. It was from Shari's breakfast menu, and I selected it from their "Smaller Plates" section (hence the single egg). It's at the bottom of the first page here:
https://sharis.com/menus/breakfast (https://sharis.com/menus/breakfast)
-
I almost got their Breakfast Burrito, but I chose the Country Fried Steak instead.
-
Good morning.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept well until 3:00 or so when my legs decided to keep me awake the rest of the night. From then on I dozed. Three cats kept me company.
-
DR George, I check the IRS "Where's My Refubnd" site daily. I've got the same message every day since Monday:
We apologize, but your return processing has been delayed beyond the normal timeframe. You can continue to check back here for the most up to date information regarding your refund.
-
I don't know what the fat hell is going on, but I'm ready to attack the IRS offices in New York and kill.
-
Today I will continue proofreading the Charleston Finale. I'm 2/3 finished.
-
I would like to watch the ballet again today now that it's online.

Today is a lazy Saturday for me.
-
Well, the whole weekend, actually.

.
-
What means this word lazy?
-
Who decides these things?
-
As long as the gummies are not on top of the prime rib.

Everyone needs some BeeGees performed by rubber chickens at this time in the morning:

Yesterday was the conclusion of my first week of Stemwave treatments for Neuropathy.
I have to say it's a very interesting result having feeling restored to feet that, one week ago, seemed totally numb.
There is a long way to go, but I am already experiencing greater balance when I walk.
Go know!

How about this?
Triple-Berry slab pie with ginger-lemon streusel

Well, I must be off. Today, I'm ushering at the Washington Center for today's Arts Walk, then in the afternoon, I'm working concessions for The Greatest Showman singalong! I don't love the movie, but I enjoy the experience.
Have a good day, all!
-
Ooh, I'd go to a Greatest Showman singalong. Do they subtitle the lyrics? Lots of them in that movie if I recall correctly.

Have a great time, George!

I'm up, I'm up - almost eight hours of sleep.
-
Eight hours of sleep sounds like it was a good restful night.
-
Ooh, I'd go to a Greatest Showman singalong. Do they subtitle the lyrics? Lots of them in that movie if I recall correctly.
Sounds fun.

I made a red lentil salad. Waiting for it to be ready to eat.

It's got plenty of mint and parsley from the garden.

My back is still giving me aches and pains.

Dancing tonight will be interesting.

Hope you feel better quickly!

Feel better vibes for DR JOHN G.
Watching World of Giants will not help you heal.

I would like for the Supreme Court to consider that all actors should be immune from prosecution for any crimes committed while rehearsing and performing in a play.....

My brother and a friend were in an elevator in St. Louis with the BeeGees one summer day......hilarity ensued.

Yes, they have the lyrics in big type on the screen.

So far, it's kind of quiet for an open house. ::) It's not raining, but it's cool and overcast, so that may have something to do with the non-crowd.

These usually are. And the hostess, Lauren, is a hoot! She's quite Carol Burnett-esque. ;D

LOL!
The strange thing is you can actually understand the lyrics on this version. :)
-
We seem to be close to page 4
-
Since page 4 is not the dreaded page 7, maybe we should just get there
-
Page Four!
-
.
LOL, this long list is a bit ridiculous.
-
Back vibes for DR John!
-
My ten minute break is over.
-
I prefer not to sit on my leg anyway, so busy packing and cleaning is good for me.
-
Been relaxing. In an hour, I'll put gas in the motor car, stop at the mail place, and then be on my way to sup with the Pearls.
-
I met my cousin Debra today at the Pool Room in Edgefield were we were both meeting her brother (my cousin) Rick and his wife Susan. They are the folks who had Debra and me to the beach last November.
At any rate, Susan was here for her class reunion at Strom Thurmond High School. My cousin Butch was also going to be there but did not join us for lunch.
We talked of may things, but you may all be quite surprised that Rick and Susan are QUITE religious in the "far right" way of religion. They love talking about wonderful things like the Bible Museum and the Noah's Ark project, etc., but they continue to embrace all the evil that is the far right and its anti-Christ leader Donald Trump.
I await their awakening.
-
Sometimes, I despair. I declare!
-
On a happier note, Debra was being picked up in front of the pool room by my cousins Becky and Evan Moore, along with their 3-year-old daughter Audrey James and their nearly 2-week-old son Levi Judge.
Rick and Susan had not seen the baby, so we had a nice gathering to end our outing. Debra and the Moores were driving to Columbia SC to the zoo there (it's on a par with the San Diego Zoo, I'm told). Becky and Evan are both taking a 3-month maternity leave and are concentrating on family outings.
I told Becky to make sure and show Levi to the gorillas at the zoo. I asked Evan to take a video if the gorillas take notice of the baby. I have seen wonderful videos of such encounters in which the gorillas are absolutely enchanted at the sight of human babies.
Susan and Rick went off to their reunion, and I came home and promptely began a nap.
-
Sometimes, I despair. I declare!
Anti-despair vibes for you, and for us all!

I think we all need these.

I watched the ballet tonight for the first time since March 30. Zoe Gallagher as Pam, the aging star, seems even funnier this time around. I've got a couple of brass mutes to fix, but it was fun to see it again.
-
DR Jane, wishing you ~~~TRAVEL & COMFORT VIBES~~~~
-
DR Ron Pulliam, I have passed on the news of your treatment to several people who may find pursuing that of benefit.

DR Jane, wishing you ~~~TRAVEL & COMFORT VIBES~~~~
Thank you.
-
I walked four miles today, all inside while I cleaned, did laundry, and packed.
-
DR Ron Pulliam, I have passed on the news of your treatment to several people who may find pursuing that of benefit.
I saved the information.

'night
-
We met a friend for lunch today.
-
I ordered something off the menu I had never tried before.
-
Chicken and waffles.
-
I had heard of it, of course, but had never tried it.
-
It was curious; it was served with both maple syrup and country gravy (both on the side).
-
It was OK.
-
I was glad to have tried it, but I don't think I need to order it again.
-
Of course, it may be better served from a different establishment.
-
Plugging along toward a page turn.
-
Slowly.
-
Painfully.

Watched the 2024 Gershwin Prize program from the Library of Congress on PBS.

This year's winner was the songwriting team of Elton John and Bernie Taupin.
-
Good night, friends.
-

Goodnight, Jane.
And sending more travel vibes.
-
Good evening.
-
I guess the funeral was a success. I was in the kitchen.
-
The luncheon was a success. I saw lots of people I haven't seen in a long time.

The Salt Creek Tiger Beetle Quintet was written by a teenager. It’s quite enjoyable.
-
The luncheon was a success. I saw lots of people I haven't seen in a long time.
Nice.
-
Of course, it may be better served from a different establishment.
The tradition is to serve it with syrup and hot sauce, a sort of sweet and hot dish. But it’s been watered down beyond recognition.
-
World of Giants is not great. Too much narration, not enough action.
-
Even when there is action, the narration is overkill and dull.
-
WoG will have to wait until tomorrow.
-
Good night, all.

That's great, Laura.

Checking in from Music City USA. The wedding was lovely.

Even had good cake!

Checking in from Music City USA. The wedding was lovely.
Very nice!
-
Even had good cake!
That's important! :D
-
Had a really fun dinner with the Pearls.
-
Ate too much.
-
Much too much.
-
When at Dino's one simply must.
-
Now I'm watching Charade.
-
I think I'll finish it and then write the notes, so they may be a bit late but not much.
-
Just a bit.
-
A wee bit.
-
Tiny.
-
Is there gaslighting going on here?
-
See?
-
So, the Arts Walk portion of today's volunteering was fairly boring. ::)
-
Not too many people came into the WCPA to view the artwork, which was a series of photographs of the abandoned Olympia brewery.
-
The colors were super saturated and really interesting to see.
-
The photographer's wife actually works as the WCPA and she said that she and her husband (the photographer) were allowed to be in the brewery for three days taking pictures.
-
Then, she said that as he was developing them, mistake happened which caused the colors to not be correct, but that he liked the look so he essentially leaned into the mistake.
-
I thought they were really cool.
-
He also had some postcard sized pictures, and I got a few, but I left all of those in my car, along with the sheet that has his website URL and information, so I can't post it here yet.
-
All his images were for sale, from $125 up to $400, depending, of course, on the size.
-
During the Arts Walk portion of the afternoon, a few cast members of SPSCC Theatre Collective's upcoming production of Amelie came and sang four or five songs from the score as an advertisement for their production.
-
I'm looking forward to that.
-
I was thinking about auditioning for it, but I couldn't because I had already committed to Incorruptible, and our rehearsals and performances overlapped with their rehearsals.
-
I'll be able to see it, though...they don't open until May 17.
-
It's in the same time slot as last year's Sunday in the Park with George that Jed and I were in.
-
And what's cool is that Jessie, who played Dot last year, is playing Amelie this year.
-
She's really good, and a nice person, too.
-
Anyway, I already signed up to usher for it...twice. :)
-
Tomorrow is the silent movie series entry, KINGS OF SILENT COMEDY (https://www.washingtoncenter.org/event/silent-movie-kings-of-silent-comedy/):
Experience silent films the way they were meant to be seen and heard, accompanied by our 1924 Wurlitzer Organ! Featuring Charlie Chaplin’s The Pilgrim and Harold Lloyd’s Why Worry? We welcome film fans of all ages to step back in time to revel in the authentically recreated sounds and nostalgia from times gone by.
-
I really enjoy seeing these movies and listening to Dennis James give his history about the movies and his music.
-
I normally sign up for these, but I didn't sign up in time, so I'm not ushering for it. :-\
-
However, I might (mind you, I said "might") just have to buy a ticket to see it.
-
The tickets are only either $21 or $26 (plus a service fee ::) ), but there are plenty of seats still available.
-
I don't know if my family is getting together tomorrow or not, but I'll find out and then decide if I want to go see the silent movies.
-
If we aren't getting together, I'll most likely see the movies.
-
Well, I'm here.
-
And we're still on page six.
-
This seems very wrong.
-
And now...
-
It doesn't seem very right.
-
Or left.
-
I do not care for page seven.
-
PAGE SEVEN DANCE!!
-
And what has George eaten of late?
-
A burrito.
-
A roast beef sandwich on a kaiser roll with mayonnaise and American cheese?
-
A Spam loaf?
-
A burrito.
Nope...I had a Burger King (aka BK ;) ) Whopper earlier this evening.
-
Junket?
-
Yes, but what are you eating NOW?
-
What is your late night snack?
-
Turkey with stuffing?
-
A chili dog?
-
An artichoke?
-
A muffin?
-
A baguette?
-
Yes, but what are you eating NOW?
Nothing.
-
What is your late night snack?
I have no late night snack.
-
A chili dog?
That sounds good.
-
A taquito?
-
Gratuitous Post #200!!
-
You MUST have a late night snack.
-
Alas and alack, I have no chili dog.
-
A chili dog is just a DoorDash away.
-
Do you have DoorDash or Ubereats or Grubhub?
-
Do you have a can of soup?
-
A can of ribs?
-
Canned prunes?
-
A Mars bar?
-
A green finch and linnet bird?
-
You MUST have a late night snack.
Well, I'm up in my bedroom on the third floor of my place, so if I wanted to get a late night snack, I'd have to get my sorry ass out of bed, trudge down two flights of stairs, find something to eat, then haul my sorry ass back up two flights of stairs. ::)
-
Oh, look! It's Page Eight!
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
Schnitzel?
-
Do you have DoorDash or Ubereats or Grubhub?
I have the DoorDash app, but I've never used it.
-
Polish sausage?
-
Swedish fish?
-
Armenian pie?
-
A Mars bar?
Not a Mars bar, but I do have a Coffee Crisp bar. :)
-
Why haven't you used DoorDash. It's so simple.
-
Schnitzel?
My mom makes pretty good schnitzel...and she's German, so it's authentic.
-
Are there any jernts near you that are open late?
-
Why haven't you used DoorDash. It's so simple.
I don't know why. I just haven't.
-
I could use some schnitzel right about now.
-
Well, use it NOW.
-
And report back.
-
Are there any jernts near you that are open late?
I'm sure there are, but I'm not yet hungry enough to spend enough to make a DoorDash worth it.
-
You know you want to.
-
There has to be a first time.
-
How can there be a second time without a first time.
-
You know you want to.
I do, but I don't. ;)
-
During the pandemic, I had my first and last Whopper - I didn't really think much of it.
-
I could have any number of things - we have tons of things on DoorDash that deliver late.
-
During the pandemic, I had my first and last Whopper - I didn't really think much of it.
The one I had tonight was pretty good...not as warm as I would've liked, but quite tasty.
-
If I wanted a smash burger right now I could have it.
-
But I shan't.
-
But I shan't.
And I shouldn't.
-
I could have a big Philly cheesesteak sandwich, but I shan't.
-
Wow, we got to page nine.
-
9 ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
-
Food will do that.
-
I could have a big Philly cheesesteak sandwich, but I shan't.
There's a local burger joint that has a really good chicken cheesesteak, but they're not open now, nor are they open on Sundays. I may just have to get that the next time I go. I haven't been in a couple weeks, so I'm due to go soon. :)
-
I really think Red Wagon has some of the best burgers in town.
-
I really do. :D
