Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of both May and Mai, and now it is time for you to post until the merry month of May cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: COHESIVE!

Notes untangled. Adhered.

One, Two, Three was absolutely incredible last night.
I know I appreciated many of the lines and "bits" WAY more than ever before. Every little thing is etched to perfection, Cagney is a force of nature, and the movie couldn't possibly look any better than it did projected in 4K on the 38-foot-wide screen.
(Not everything shown there is "in" 4K, but this theater is fine-tuned to perfection and 2K stuff is positively gorgeous as well.)
-
I’m still tired

I'd forgotten this yesterday, but part of the nice memory of seeing the movie when it opened is that it was a good friend's dad who took my friend and me to see it. (Their mom was out doing something that night. They were a family I really liked, in an interesting house I really liked, and unfortunately I foolishly lost touch with them when we moved across town some months later.) After the movie his dad explained to us boys what that then-new Berlin Wall thing was all about -- and to the best of my memory, at that tender age, that was my first ever awareness of the Wall.
-
I remember in Cagney’s autobiography he said maybe the only actor he couldn’t stand in all his years of making films was Horst Bucholz.
-
I remember in Cagney’s autobiography he said maybe the only actor he couldn’t stand in all his years of making films was Horst Bucholz.
Yes indeed. The gentleman introducing the film mentioned that. Does Cagney also state that the making of the film was so exhausting (and not a totally pleasant experience) that that mostly accounts for his then-retirement?
-
It's interesting, too, because Bucholz is, himself, something of a "force of nature" in the film.
-
I never understood any of the hoopla over Horst Buchholz. Oh, yes, there was "hoopla" or he would not have made a bunch of films, including "The Magnificent Seven" and "One, Two, Three." Of course, he missed out on a few roles, such as Tony in "West Side Story" and the Omar Sharif role in "Lawrence of Arabia."
He came to Hollywood in the 50s and was labeled the "German James Dean". Meh.
-
I slept.
I awakened.
I arose from bed.
I ambled into the den.
And here I sit, awaiting the motivation to do more.
-
For some very odd reason, it "feels" like Friday.
I know it's not. I have much to do before Friday, but there it is.
Next week, my calendar is a blur. Five appointments in the first four days.
It could not be helped, of course. The Stemwave appointments are two of them.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I did a home sleep test last night, which means I didn't sleep.
-
So I am bleary-eyed.
-
Wasn't there a song in Annie about May?
-
My head is still reeling from finding no mail (zilch, zero, nada) in my post office box yesterday
On the up side, I did have two deliveries to my home: Autographed copies of "Wicked" (Easton Press special edition signed by Gregory Maguire) and Judi Dench's "Shakespeare - The Man Who Pays the Rent".
-
Save your groans for later.
-
Meanwhile, the cicadas continue their noise which can be heard everywhere I go, although they are noisier in rural areas where there isn't a lot of activity otherwise.
-

Lovely. I have a reservation on Dench's book.

I think the cicadas would drive me crazy
-
Not that it's a long drive
-
I did a home sleep test last night, which means I didn't sleep.
It looks like housemate Nathan needs to start using a CPAP - or it's been suggested - and I think he's going to be doing a sleep test (one or more, I have no idea) in a couple of weeks.
-
I don't know if I mentioned this already, but...
You may recall I live across the street from where my aunt and uncle lived from 1950 until their deaths in 2021 and 2022.
The house is occupied, but they don't seem to own a lawn mower. The yard is awash in dandelions. A sea of dandelions. All the other yards are well maintained (or immaculate!), but not this house.
It seems a bit unfriendly to walk over and complain to them, but the fact is that those yellow flowers will very shortly turn into whitish puff balls of seeds and the winds will scatter them hither, thither and yon, all of which means I'll get the bulk of them (being yon between thither and hither).
I have thought about paying someone to cut their yard, but that would be a gross violation of their rights. Last year, the man of that house used a weed eater and cut the entire yard.
PO'd in Johnston, I am!

I think the cicadas would drive me crazy
It's a rather consistent hum...like being aware an electrical appliance is turned on.

Why the HELL is Jane in Ireland. I don't think she has grandchildren there and I've heard through the grapevine she's about as Irish as gefilte fish.
I've also heard through this grapevine that people actually vote in Tony categories where they haven't seen all the nominees, and also "they" claim about you that you don't care for page seven!
So much for the reliability of the grapevine.

Page Five!

DR FREDDIE all conflicts must be listed on the audition sheet.
But we have several high school students in the show and this time of year with concerts, sports, and events many of them are gone a couple of nights a week until the end of the month.
-
DR RON PULLIAM my next door neighbor has grass that is now about 8-10 inches tall......
His car is home all day and I thought he told my brother he was a landscaper.
Last summer he bought a new electric lawn mower. But it was his room mate that always mowed the lawn. The room mate went to the slammer a few months ago....so maybe that has something to do with it. I hope he's not waiting until he's released!
-
Sad to read that DJT madness has infiltrated Ireland.
-
Every theeder I know has auditioners list their conflicts, but that doesn't prevent new ones from magically appearing after they're cast.

Does DR Matthew post anymore? I haven’t seen him in a long time, though I’ve been traveling a bit, so maybe he hasn’t seen me.
He hasn't posted since January. Hopefully, he's just busy with school and his dogs. :-\
-
And now, since we're so close...
-
Julius LaRosa has a song called “Stashu Pandowski.” My mom had the 45. I haven’t heard it in over 30 years. Yet I know all the lyrics. The mind is an amazing thing.

I'm up, I'm up - oh, wait...

George is gone? Again?
-
What now?
-
Eating a burrito?
-
Having some Chicken tikka tokka?
-
Can't be MSNBC again.
-
Asleep?
-
Having a shrimp Louis?
-
Or a Crab Frank?
-
Or a Lobster Richard?
-
Or scallops a la Steve?
-
Where the HELL is George.
-
Certainly not here.
-
Not now.
-
It is not right.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.

Looks like we made it.

Where the HELL is George.
It's Page 10! That's gotta count for something!
-
Certainly not here.
My friend David called me, so I got distracted. ::)
