Well, you've read the notes, the notes were social and had security, and now it is time for you to post until the social cows come home.

And the word of the day is: ACCOLADE!

Good morning, all!
-
I slept rather well, so that's all to the good.
-
I think I spend too much time these days brooding on death, not just my own but all the friends and acquaintances I've known. The 80s and 90s were bad because AIDS took so many young people, but now that I'm in my late 70s, friends in my age range are dying, and I spend too much time mourning the ones I loved. I asked my brother Randy a couple of years ago if he ever thought about death, and his answer was, All the time.
-
DR Slingshot, I'm very happy for your good news opn your biopsies. I think you shopuld adopt two of those precious kittens. They will amuse, aggravate, and adore you.
-
Hopefully, this morning Doug and I will finish the ballet score. Beyond the Trump trial, there's little else on my mind at the moment.
-
I do think it's time for some serious investigation into Judge Aileen Cannon and a serious look at impeaching the bitch.

It's Wednesday, and that's OK with me.

Wasn't it Lily Tomlin (actually Jane Wagner) who said, "What is reality, really, but a collective hunch?"

Speaking of Notre Dame, I'm really enjoying The Paris Novel. Thanks for the recommendation, DR John G.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame had it all figured out.
An excuse to post this fun video of what seems to be someone with his kid watching Skip's song "Fa La La La Fallen in Love" (from the Disney DVD sequel to Hunchback) - The guy joins in singing along on the "Fa la la la" part. I think he's singing to his kid.

For travelers to Greece - Here's that same song from "Hunchback of Notre Dame Part Two" translated into Greek.

Still Skip's music of course, but Skip can't vouch for the translation of his lyric into Greek. :)

Thanks for the clips, DR Freddie. I had no idea about Skip's connection to Disney!

Good news from DR singdaw!

Act Two of Star on the Rise is proofed. The director of the Royal Ballet has asked to look at it. It would be nice if they - or someone - asked me to orchestrate something.
-
As a Social Security person for the past 11 years, BK, I'm very curious what's going on with you and SS. I'm assuming that you are already signed up with them?
-
That would be nice DR ELMORE!
-
DR Singdaw congrats on the test results!
-
Rodzinski I'm glad you stayed calm regarding the delay. I'm surprised the teacher didn't have a cell number to call and ask where the kids were.

Made it to the airport. Thanks for the travel vibes.

Have a great trip, John!

More vibes for BK's call this afternoon!
Question for BK - Are you trying to adjust how much you've been getting, or have you not gotten any of the benefits previously?
I have not gotten anything. I tried to do this back in 2019 when I was 71, online, but you had to have some address they had on file that came from TRW. I put in several that weren't right - then I called and they asked me to name some other addresses and I went back heaven knows how long - certainly to the early 1970s or even earlier - none of them worked. They said I'd have to call TRW and find out the address they had, and that turned out to be a process that was so ridiculous I gave up. I figured I'd just go in person, where that wasn't an issue. Then the pandemic hit and that was that and so the sad part is they can only go back six months from when you make the phone appointment rather than five years.
-
As a Social Security person for the past 11 years, BK, I'm very curious what's going on with you and SS. I'm assuming that you are already signed up with them?
Read my response to Freddie - I wasn't signed up and I explain why.
-
BUT - I'm up, I'm up - six hours of sleep. Woke up around 8:50 and couldn't fall back asleep. The phone rang at around 9:20, the mobile phone. I looked and it said Public Service and looked like a spoof number, but some instinct kicked in and I answered and am I glad I did.
-
It was Social Security calling earlier because they had that time slot open up and thought they'd give it a try.
-
I answered all their questions, he talked me through stuff, and my benefits start the third week of June, but prior to that, in about a week, I'm getting a lump sum payment because they went back six months from the time I made this appointment. He tried to go back further but the system wouldn't let him, so I've lost quite a bit of dough over the last five years. Anyway, the lump sum will be very helpful in the short term, and the monthly will also be very helpful and is more than I thought it would be.
-
So, that was a good morning!
-
Does that qualify as a modern major miracle?
-
I do think it's time for some serious investigation into Judge Aileen Cannon and a serious look at impeaching the bitch.
Ditto and Ditto!!
-
That certainly does, Freddie.
-
Oh, and I was enrolled in Medicare A and B. I've been told that I may want to look into enrolling in Medicare Advantage and I'll be talking to someone about that, as I don't understand any of that stuff.
-
Day Two of roofers. Right now they're out there in their trucks, waiting for a band of rainstorms to pass over.
Roof and weather vibes.

vixmom, did you ever find out what the commotion was about last night?
I saw something that said a woman was being held hostage, but released and the man ran away.
I dont know how accurate that is, nothing official was released this was from a neighbor so who knows

What a week it has been!
Early a.m. audiology appointment Monday. Final hearing test to determine my eligibility for "hearing assistance". The outcome was positive. I have an appointment June 13th to be fitted with the things.
Yesterday, I had two appointments: One in Aiken SC with renal doctor (all is well...for now) followed by one in North Augusta for my stemwave treatment. It went well, too. I stopped at Taco Bell on the way home for a late lunch. I was out four-and-half hours...and I was shot when I got home. Passed out in my chair after eating my tacos.
This morning, I visited my podiatrist for follow-up care on my callous (right foot). It looks good. She shaved a bit off and told me to keep doing whatever I am doing because all seems well.
Tomorrow, sigh, I have an 8:40 a.m. stemwave appointment in North Augusta.
The week is a major mind-boggle for me because I stay on the road. I also get to my appointments early and often have to wait quite a while to be seen.
Glad I am retired!
-
Energy vibes for Ron!
You sure get a lot accomplished.

I know I have regaled you with stories about a cousin-in-law who verbally abuses her stepson (the 12-year-old son of my cousin Chad). She also verbally abuses Chad.
I may have mentioned, in passing, that I was passed over for a birthday invitation for their first daughter a year ago, and this happened again this year for their one-year-old. But, Chad texted me and invited me. I went, I was pleasant, I brought wine for the parents and a present for the little girl.
Two weeks ago, I was surprised to receive an invitation from Chad's wife for their first daughter's third birthday. I accepted immediately.
One week ago, I wished Courtney (Chad's wife) a happy birthday online. She placed a heart under the greeting.
This week, I find I have been "unfriended" by Courtney. In fact, everyone related to, or friends with Chad, has been unfriended. She has left him (again) and taken her butt and her two daughters to her mother's.
Chad built them a beautiful home on a gorgeous property three years ago. She has told him the house is a dump and she cannot live there. She was raised in a trailer!!! I have nothing against trailers, but...there is such a thing as "trailer trash", and Courtney seems to have joined that esteemed group
Courtney hates his son (says he ought to be with his mother even though she always acted like she loved him before she had her first child), refuses to have anything to do with Chad's mother (my cousin Debra), and is generally a major bitch.
I don't think I've left anything out, except that she thought she was going to change Chad's interests and lifestyle (he's a born hunter) and berates him for everything he does without her, althought she, herself, is out and about all day spending money on clothes for the two children, never cooks or cleans. Chad does that all. I have also learned that she has been squirreling away money, paying $1,000 in checks to her mom over several months. Chad cancelled all his credit cards and gives her money to spend in the form of a check every week. He gives her $500 for groceries and other expenses. She pays no bills, has no mortgage and she claims he is treating her like dirt.

Watched the Mean Girls musical. It was better and worse than expected. Better direction. Lousy, forgettable score. Some excellent performances, especially from Renee Rapp.

I understand why you need to share this sad story with someone. Most of all I feel bad for Chad's son. I hope Chad does not subject the kid to more abuse.

Landed in Washington. Lots of turbulence.
I didn't realize you were going to Washington.
-
This evening, in our new hotel for only 1 night, we had a group dinner followed by entertainment.
-
For dessert we had a chocolate Guinness cake with a gently flavored Irish whiskey frosting.
-
OMG it was good.
-
The entertainment was a very talented group of musicians. Most enjoyable was the man playing a beautiful banjo, and the male singer with a guitar. There was also an eleven year old girl playing the harp. I mustn't forget the last two women in the group, one playing the violin and the other on the concertina.
-
Someone needs to write a twisted variation on King Lear, only about Tump and his icky love for his daughter. The madness is real after he gives up power and wants it back again.
-
Of course, to round out the Irish entertainment there was a talented couple dancing. I do love watching Irish dancers.
-
Well, around 2:15 I got up to prepare the cats' dinner and mine. I was leaning on one of the computer table's folding wings and it broke. The wing dropped, and I lost my balance and fell to the floor, twisting my left foot. There I lay on my back wedged between the living area and foyer.
-
Vibes for Larry that you're OK!
-
I did a lot of screaming for help when finally my neighbor Judy heard me and came over. Her health is poor and she could do nothing but call Jen on five. She came down, moved the walker and teacart, and helped me turn over onto my stomach so I could stand. I am in a lot of pain but i was very lucky with my injuries: twisted ankle but i don't think it's a sprain and a bump on the back of my head where it hit a CD case in the fall.
-
Hoping the pain gets better quickly, Larry!
-
Love reading all about your trip, DR Jane.
-
Sorry about your fall, DR elmore3003.

Wednesday evening greetings! We survived last night’s tornadoes here in Ohio. They went south of us and north (only 2.5 miles - yikes!).

I wish I could help. But in my work life, that is not my area of expertise.
-
When the DH turned 65 a few years ago, I did a lot of research.
-
We ended up leaving him on my work insurance for the time being.
-
But the point is, there are MANY online sources, governmental and private, to help explain all of this.
-
I thought when the time came, I would enroll in Medicare Advantage, but lately I've seen some scary articles and stories about denial of claims under that plan.

Oh, no! :(
-
I’m not often here in the evenings, but I felt it my solemn duty to get online to say that the Mahler Sixth is playing on the syndicated FM radio program The New York Philharmonic This Week (hosted by Alec Baldwin), and one Maestro Alan Gilbert is taking the Adagio before the Scherzo.
You read that right. The ADAGIO before the SCHERZO.
I don’t know whether this is a commercial release or a live performance recording (they run both) because I came in right after the piece had started. No matter. Hearing it this time just proves the folly.
And that is the repor. Please don’t shoot the messenger. Your loyal servant, over and out.

DR RON PULLIAM I am happy to read about your hearing success....vibes that they help you.
I am horrified to read about your near relative and his children under the control of someone who seems completely unhinged.....
Vibes that something good will prevail.
-
Happy to read about Mr BK's SS success.
I am not an expert - but I will say that I am very happy with my Humana Part C plan.....it covers many things and I am giving a small monthly allowance to spend on food, every three months I get a stipend for health supplies such as vitamins and supplements, and I get $500 every six months for hearing, eyesight, and dental services.
-
From all I've heard, you want to stick with the Medicare provided plans, not the ones from private insurance companies. I'm still on my wife's insurance so my research is incomplete.
-
Well, rehearsal went well, and notes were given...none for me. ;D
-
My cousin John (from Oregon) called just as we were about to start the run, so I asked if he could call me at 11:00, but he hasn't called yet, but hopefully he will soon.

MAD AD Furious Amazon Prime members complain app is ‘out of control’ after controversial update and say it’s ‘now worthless’ (https://www.the-sun.com/tech/11295381/amazon-prime-members-complain-ad-change/amp/)
Some said the cost is no longer worth the ads.
-
I suspended my Amazon Prime account, but didn't cancel it (yet).
-
I can wait (and have waited) to order at least $35 of products to get the free shipping, and the two-day shipping was a convenience, but was never really necessary.

It won't be a great hardship to cancel Amazon Prime, but I think I'd lose SAMI and everything else I purchased. :-\

They sound good. :)
-
The play, The King in Yellow, has a play within the play.
-
I've seen a couple of full runs now, and although it's performed well, the show itself is kinda weird.
-
I just don't get it...I don't even think that I can describe it. :-\
-
It starts out like an Importance of Being Earnest comedy, but then devolves into a horror story.
-
Here's the Wikipedia page:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_King_in_Yellow (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_King_in_Yellow)
-
It was originally written in 1895, and was a book of short stories.
-
Maybe I need to read them to see how well the play represents the original stories.
-
What?
-
Roast venison?
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.

Tu et?

I could use a snack but I'm not doing that.
-
I'm gonna try and be in bed by one.
-
Maybe even before.
-
I do not care for page seven.
-
But since George keeps dilly-dallying, there will be no getting off it.
