Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of these kids today, and now it is time for you to post until these cows today come home.
-
And the word of the day is: JUBILATION!
-
I couldn't watch more than a couple of minutes of that video. :P
-
She's really something, huh?

Good morning, all.
-
Worst night of not sleeping yet. I have to call the doctor later.
-
I finished a book on my Kindle and played too many games. But not much sleep.

Sleep vibes and pain free vibes for John G

Welcome home Rodzinski
-
I have never seen Little Murders, after looking at that video clip I think I must seek it out
-
Yesterday I was asked to cover a closing “out east” about a 50 mile trek from my office
-
I was happy to do it and it was a pretty day for a drive
-
The closing was fine and the drive each way generally uneventful
-
Good morning, all!
-
I had a truly horrible night of sleep; I thought the dawn would never show up, but it finally did.
-
I stopped at my local BJs ( think Costco) and picked up a rotisserie chicken and came home and made a nice dinner of chicken, stuffing, peas, gravy and cranberry sauce
-
DR ChasSmith, Peter Filichia came to the ballet screening on March 29. He left at intermission.
-
For dessert there was caramel flan, also courtesy of BJs and a $1 off coupon
-
Then I cleaned up the kitchen and changed into my night clothes
-
And went to bed
-
Where I slept right through until about 645
-
Travel vibes for our Ron!
How far will you need to drive?
-
I'm still wondering about five different edits of Caligula.
-
I am sorry for all the sleepless nights everyone else is having
-
I am having the opposite problem where I cannot stay awake

Maybe I’ll Wordle

Intact packages vibes for Elmore

Did you complain to Amazon about the theft?
-
Can you add delivery instructions that they must deliver the package to your apartment?

It's here!
-
Good morning, all.
-
And a good summer solstice to all.
It always seems like it's way too soon. At this time of the year here, we're just getting started on summer!
-
I, too, am sorry about everyone's problems sleeping, for whatever the reasons. It seems to be a time of year for it.
We especially need some pain-free VIBES for the likes of DRs Elmore and John G., and whomsoever else I might be missing.

Day Four of the heat wave, and it looks like we pretty much have six (6) in the bag. Both Saturday and Sunday are right on the edge here, with forecasts for 90 degrees each.
I believe a six-day HW (not to be confused with a six-day HHW) would be historic in these parts.
-
Today: Laundry, work on six songs, and then play those six songs with six singers this evening at a celebratory fundraiser event for the local outdoor theeder which has just completed tons of wonderful work with some city funding that took years to come through but finally did.
-
I am all about the sixes today. Not sixes and sevens, mind you, although there could be a little of that, too. Just sixes for now.
Six days of heat. Six singers. Six songs. What am I forgetting? Doesn't matter, I've achieved the almighty 666!
-
If that had been reply #666, I think we'd all be heading for the hills.
-
However, in less than 20 more posts, I will have achieved a modest li'l 666 posting level.
-
But I digress!
Tonight's event, which would otherwise have been outdoors on their new stage, will be indoors because of the rain in the forecast. It's actually in the forecast for today and the three days following.
I'm glad of that. I really don't like playing outdoors, anyway, let alone with the threat of rain, and this time would have been pretty miserable.
-
Good morning, friends.

Reviews are trickling in from last night's one-night-only Follies at Carnegie Hall. Qualified positives.

Mostly just bragging that they got in and were there.

Beautiful!

Feel-better-quickly vibes for Jrand!
-
I saw 3 films on aeroplanes, as that is the only place I really see them these days.
-
I enjoy BECAUSE THEY'RE YOUNG - I like the title song and all of the cast....Dick Clark is sort of annoying...but he is earnest.
Michael Callan also does a dance number in Gidget Goes Hawaiian that is very nice. He is traveling to the 50th state with his all-guy dance troupe and they are all going girl crazy....and Michael dances a tame MAMBO with Deborah Walley.
-
Lisa Frankenstein. A “quirky” comedy about a tragic goth girl in the ‘80s who resurrects a corpse who becomes her pal. Written by Diablo Cody so it’s heavy on the cute. The lead girl is good. But it’s a copy of Edward Scissorhands, basically. A mixed bag.

When Deborah Walley got a special credit on the "Mothers In Law" opening credits, I had no idea at that time that she was pretty well-known. But it was the equivalent of having her name in a box under all the other credits.
Everyone else's character had the actor's own first name, but she was "Deborah Walley as Susie," IIRC. (or was it Suzie?)
-
I recall Johnny Carson jokingly mentioning a possible sequel called "Gidget Goes Ya-ha!"
-
Inside.
This has Willem Dafoe as an art thief who gets trapped in a penthouse apartment he’s trying to rob. He’s more or less the only person in the movie. We follow his attempts to escape. Interesting if not completely satisfying.
-
Lastly a documentary called “Closed for Storm” about the Six Flags park that was abandoned in New Orleans after Katrina. Mildly fascinating. Hard to work up much outrage about it since there are many bigger problems in New Orleans. I hadn’t realized the park was so new when Katrina hit. Hilariously inappropriate stock music from old nature films or something used in this low-budget doc.
-
"Closed For Storm" sounds interesting.
I really liked Donald Sutherland in everything I saw him in.
I remember him first from a Hammer Film called Horror Train - I think. A man read cards for five different folks on a train trip - and they each had terrible things in store for them.
Of course in the end it was revealed that the man with the cards was Death and that they all had died when the train crashed.....
-
Godzilla x Kong is silly. The cast of humans is enjoyable. The rest is CGI or special effects. and they are acceptable but not overly involving.
-
I always forget he was in that, DR Jrand73.
DR. TERROR’S HOUSE OF HORRORS. An Amicus film. (Love those.)
-
Thanks for the clarification DR CHAS SMITH - you are indeed correct!
Amicus vs. Hammer I remember the many discussions I had with friends about the differences at the time.....
-
Deborah Walley was married for awhile to fellow Beach movie performer John Ashley - they had two sons.
I always enjoyed her performances - especially Summer Magic with Hayley Mills and Eddie Hodges.....

SAFE, EASY, AND STAY COOL VIBES FOR DR RON!

Just in time too as I don't have any sound coming in to my left hearing aid.

Hoe you're feeling better today, JRand.

Starting Frenzy. What a model movie. Economic, funny, macabre. It's long been one of my favorites.
-
Gratuitous post 101!
-
I'm up, I'm up - ten and a half hours of very needed sleep. Food has been ordered - two tacos from Don Cuco.
-
Should be here in thirty minutes.
-
So, no one watched the video? I'm going to remove the link in an hour.
-
Was going to go to Gelson's, but I'll do that tomorrow or Sunday. Just don't feel like shaving and leaving the house, frankly.

I am making my favorite potato salad.
-
I feel good enough to do that. It's for Bible study Sunday.
-
I didn't watch the video. Seeing people behaving badly makes me crazy.
-
Aside from my own self, I mean.
-
Glad to hear that DR John G. and DR Jrand73 are at least feeling a little better.

-
Fun.

Not.
-
The scene in Frenzy inside the delivery truck is one of the best things Hitchcock ever directed. Gruesome, hilarious, suspenseful.
-
MR BK I watched the video.
It was behavior so typical of today's generation.
I watch videos of Sovereign Citizens and other MAGAT idiots....it is infuriating and also indicative of what we have become.
I want to fight against it - but I don't know how to counteract such ignorance and disrespect.
The entitlement of such folks is incomprehensible to me.
-
DR JOHN G agree about FRENZY.....Hitchcock embraced the times....or perhaps PSYCHO directed in the 1972 would have been a completely different movie than the one directed in 1960.....

Agree.
-
Interesting that Frenzy and Pepping Tom both have terrific, no-nonsense performances from Anna Massey. I forgot she was in both.

I hope your new audiologist is worth the $$$.
He was very good and spent about two hours with me. My hearing aids have now been reprogramed to match my decline in hearing. I like him very much.
Still, it is frustrating because it was rather pricey.
-
Fingers crossed I follow conversation better from now on.
-
After I get used to the update on my hearing aids I plan to return to him to try a newer, supposedly new and greatly improved model.

Listening to Jason Robert Brown's new show, The Connector. So far, so good.

At some point, we will start watching the new season of Grantchester.
-
Was it DR Jeanne who recommended After the Flood?
-
Hope her real estate search is moving along.
-
It has rained a lot here. The Mississippi is expected to crest in the next day or so. Many local roads are closed.
-
Saw some bald eagles hunting over the river yesterday. So beautiful.

Watched a PBS episode of Nature featuring the Niagara Falls ecosystem. Fascinating.

singdaw, we're only finding one episode of the new season of Grantchester, as of yesterday.
Maybe they're releasing the new season one episode at a time?

I will have to look for that after my trip last fall.

Watching a golf movie called The Long Game about the first Hispanic golf team in Texas. It's very predictable, but it's still pretty good.

I remember reading years ago that a person had to be dead for 10 years before they would (could) be put on a stamp.
-
Obviously, that restriction has changed.
-
Listening to Jason Robert Brown's new show, The Connector. So far, so good.
That's good to know.

I haven't heard much of anything about it.

I like a lot of his music, but his shows, as popular as they may seem, have never very long runs on Broadway. :-\

And George disappears at 12:03 and never returns, leaves us on page six without a care in the world, hand gave us no food report.
-
He WILL be held accountable.
-
I know, he's sitting in his easy chair stuffing his face with burritos, Big Macs, Subway, and whatever else is laying around the house.
-
I, on the other hand, have no food laying around the house and I'm mighty tempted to get something. MIGHTY tempted but I must not give in to said temptation.
-
I was tempted last night, too, and did not give in.
-
But tonight is tonight.
-
Temptation is strong.
-
Maybe I'll take five minutes and see options.
-
I saw the options and chose something small but fun from Taco Bell that won't do too much damage, since I only had the two Don Cuco tacos earlier.
-
And George STILL hasn't returned.
-
I believe he's now eating pork rinds.
-
He certainly isn't here, is he?
-
No, he is not.
-
He has left us in the lurch.
-
I do not care for page seven.
-
George does not care, as he's left us in the damn lurch.

New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.

And here we all are - in the damn lurch.

The punishment must fit the crime.

The crime is currently an extra large.
