Well, you've read the notes, the notes were two in a row-type notes, and now it is time for you to post until the two in a row cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: RESPITE!
-
That's really cool about Charles Fox's grandson. I don't doubt that it'll be a great show!

We didn't get the call out in the notes.

I enjoyed the video!

I'm sure she thinks she is the costume designer and everything else.....but no one else has any important costumes that matter - so she concentrates on her own.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I too enjoyed the Elephant video.

BK, what happened to your promised account of the Big Paypal Dispute in the notes?

Argo and L'Oiseau-Lyre were part of London Decca, I believe, and some of the recordings have been released on Decca CDs. I only had a few of them back in the day.

What I Meant to Post After Errands Yesterday:
$3.35
It's gone up around a quarter (who can keep track?) in the last month or so.
-
Groceries and other such trivial things, too, keep going up.
Things that haven't been downsized before are getting downsized.
And so it goes.
I just wanted to cheer everybody up this morning. :)

Yes, good reminder. I did always associate Argo with London, and their releases looked and felt like London records. I remember L'Oiseau-Lyre, too, but I don't recall what, if anything, I had of theirs.
I have maybe half a dozen of the plays, and I wonder if Argo ever completed the works of Shakespeare.

Great picture, and great theeder updates, as always, from DR Jrand73.
I am stunned by the... creativity (yeah, that's it) and talent in Pawnee's own theatrical family. Why, it sounds like they've got their very own Lunt and Fontanne. Or the Barrymores! No, wait, the Redgraves!
I am envious of all that you are learning about the craft, sir.
-
I stepped out of the apartment AC into the oven of the hall to take the trash to the basement. I am at I am not stepping out again today.

Yes DR CHAS SMITH I could write a book.......or better yet a song in the manner of Mr. Allan Sherman.

I probably won't post a picture of our LL.....a photo search may bring her here.

I went to the grocery getting place - and when I came back, my parking spot had been usurped by a truck belonging to the jerk who lives on the street where there is NO work going on AND his driveway is empty.....
I had to park two blocks away.....but at least I have my handy dandy cart.
The good news is that even in the bit of rain we're having - the gentlemen are laying rebar and pouring cement at my driveway entrance.....so that's a start.
I went out to say thanks and they saw me walking two blocks with my groceries, so perhaps they are taking pity on Grandpa McCoy.
-
A sailor's not a sailor till a sailor's been tattooed!
At least that's what Mitzi and Ethel sang in one of the weirdest songs ever committed to film.
-
Good morrow, ye gentle folk!

Today, of all days, is HAIRCUT day.
I am about two weeks late in getting it cut. I thought that with hearing aids, I might let it grow out a bit and possibly cover the ears.
But, NO, No, no, definitely NOT! The hearing aids are not noticeable unless one is looking in my ear, and I had forgotten how much effort must be put into making longer hair presentable.
Dang my double crown! It grows nicely in front, nicely on the right side, I part to the left, but the back goes every which way but the way I want it to go.
Sigh.
-
Charles Fox!
That is a name that came to my attention in 1972.
He composed a minimal, but evocative, score for "A Separate Peace". For years, I have hoped a recording by Fox would include some of that score, but it has not come to be.
Some "enterprising and fabulous" label should issue tracks of his unreleased music.
-
A sailor's not a sailor till a sailor's been tattooed!
At least that's what Mitzi and Ethel sang in one of the weirdest songs ever committed to film.
It's a spiffy number, it's Irving Berlin, and it's a great duet for the two of them.
-

Maybe his driveway was blocked when he parked in your space? Or is he just an all-around jerk regardless?

I must continue getting ready. The geese in the pond are very loud and honking their heads off.
Flotillas are floating by as I look out my window,
Because it's Wednesday, many places are either closed or will close by noon. It's a local tradition because all these places open half a day, at least, on Saturdays.
So I must check my mail, make a stop at the recycling center and then hie me thither to the barber over the next hour.
After my haircut, I hope to get lunch and then make a trip to Cook's roadside produce stand.
Today won't be as hot as previous days, but heat returns in force tomorrow.

During my brief bit of insomnia last night, I read a chapter of Mary Poppins in the Park. Michael Banks has a wish granted and ends up on a star populated with cats. He's offered a treat, but doesn't like the choices: dead rat, bat or raw fish. Very amusing.
