Well, you've read the notes, the notes had a twist, and now it is time for you to post until the twisted cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ASSET!
-
~~~Vibes for a Really Needed Modern Major Miracle for Several Things!!~~~
-
In October, I'm going to be stage managing a production of An Inspector Calls. I haven't read the script yet, so I guess I should probably do that before rehearsals start...probably. ::)
Oh, my goodness! :D
I dance the twist quite regularly. Everybody at the studio loves it.
Good night, all.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
Welcome home finally, DR John G.!!!
-
Reporting for duty with cat:
-
The cat is actually the supervisor.
.
-
Who decides these things?
-
Didn't The Crying Game (1992) have a twist, of a sort?
-
~~~MULTIPLE MODERN MAJOR MIRACLE VIBES FOR SEVERAL THINGS~~~ for the likes o' BK!!!!!

I re-watched the Lord of the Rings trilogy this past weekend - extended editions. That took a long time. I really like Howard Shore's score.
-
I have never seen The Hobbit trilogy.
-
Also scored by Howard Shore, I believe.

Oh, my goodness! :D

WOW! Congratulations!

.
Well I was planning on hot dogs for dinner actually!
-
Well smoked brats to be accurate, but close enough.
-
Peach ice cream sounds like an excellent idea as well!
-
I can gaze lovingly at my tattoo whilst enjoying my peach ice cream
-
And posting with emojis
-
Perhaps buy a lottery ticket or two.
-
I have no idea how, or honestly, wish to celebrate or commemorate yellow pigs
-
Or wrong way Corrigan.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Whose name I remember , but whose story I have forgotten.
-
Although I am quite sure I once knew the tale.
-
Good morning Elmore!
-
Anyway I must finish my coffee and get to work
-
But first a Wordle.
-
Let me see if I can match George’s score

Although I have my doubts

So far, it's been rotten, thanks to my dumbass health insurance company. I logged on to pay my bill, but the site refused my password. This led to thirty minutes of wrangling with the site, getting a new password, waiting for an email with verification numbers. I finally got onto the site and paid my bill. It should have been about a five-minute transaction.

Welcome home, DR JohnG!
-
Douglas Corrigan was an American aviator, nicknamed "Wrong Way" in 1938. After a transcontinental flight in July from Long Beach, California, to New York City, he then flew from Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn to Ireland, although his flight plan was filed to return to Long Beach.
-
Speaking of "wrong way," our governmental agency has a "no wrong door" goal, meaning: no matter what bone-headed thing a customer may do wrong, we're supposed to work behind the scenes to get the proper outcome.
-
And customers can be pretty darned ingenious about doing the wrong thing.
-
Like entering their date of birth as their date of death on applications.
-
Just as an example.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Today's the last official day of the heat wave, and we're supposed to see intermittent storms through the afternoon and evening. Oh rapture.
-
Good night, all.
Welcome home, John G!
-
Close……but no ceegar
But that did get us to page 2 pretty quickly!
-
I wonder if John G. was sorry he didn't take the flight to Austin and just walk the rest of the way home.
-
Even more miracle vibes for BK!
-
Close……but no ceegar
Not even a candy ceegar?
-
The Candyman can.
-
I wonder if the Candyman can do the Can-Can?
If so, the headline would read: CANDYMAN CAN CAN-CAN IN CANADA
-
I wonder if they ever do the Can-Can in John G.'s dance class.
-
Gaily kick your legs high!
-
Let them fly!
-
Catch their eye!
-
Or, eat a pie.

But don't cry.

PAGE THREE

Last night, I watched the Ruth Gordon episode of Columbo (Season 7, Episode 1). It was fun.
-
Lying jerk Eric Trump was interviewed on CBS Mornings. Much of it was his whining aboutrwhat a good dad the Fat Orange sluig was, how honest he was, and that he didn't need to be in politics. He said words to the effect that "we don't need to be in this; we're in it because we love this country."
He didn't add "and we can steal all we can from it."
-
He also said Trump's ear had no stitches; it's only a flesh wound. From that stupid bandage that Trump - and now a lot of Rethuglicans as well - wears, you'd think he had fifty stitches.
-
Sorry about the enduring heat on the East coast.
-
Major miracle vibes for MR BK.
-
Our forecast today here is literally: the Goldilocks forecast. "This weather is JUST RIGHT." :)
-
I like plot twists - although they are more difficult to come by.
-
I hear some Twilight Zone music cues in some episodes of Perry Mason.
-
Well we continue our PP run tonight.....four more performances and then we can say au revoir, mon ami.
-
When something unexpected happens, yell out "PLOT TWIST!" and see how people react.

I watched French Can Can on TCM - most enjoyable.
-
I remember when the Twist was most popular.....I think I was in the 4th grade....and I heard Arlene and Dorothy and Bennett talking about going to the Peppermint Lounge in NYC and I kept thinking why are those OLD PEOPLE doing The Twist?
-
Well we continue our PP run tonight.....four more performances and then we can say au revoir, mon ami.
Rest-of-the-run vibes for Jrand and company!
-
I watched French Can Can on TCM - most enjoyable.
The Renoir movie? I love it. Jean Gabin is great.
-
Psycho, of course, has a great twist ending. Also love Oldboy and Parasite for their twists.
-
I must get up and go get JB.
-
A major afternoon nap is in store.
-
Tell No One is another twist ending worth mentioning.
-
I just had a bad plot twist: my attorney is retiring.

BK, your Notes from June 22, 2014 were linked in a post on the All That Chat board, on the subject of how Sondheim felt about Ira Levin's lyrics. (So if your statistics are showing more people reading the June 2014 Notes, that's probably the source.)
This is the link to the All That Chat post which links to you.

DR Jrand, thank you for the welcome home.
-
From DR George:
Don't feel too bad, John. You're not alone. The flight for my uncle and aunt back to Germany was cancelled! They're back at my mom's house. I don't know what happened, but hopefully, they can get another flight out sometime! :-\
Fortunately they had a place to return to. I hope your mother hadn't changed their sheets yet.

I am very pleased you made it home.

A major afternoon nap is in store.
I hope you can sleep.

It is time to return to the gym. Today I am wearing my new t-shirt from Portugal.

And customers can be pretty darned ingenious about doing the wrong thing.
You can try to make something foolproof, but they keep inventing better fools.

Antsy and exhausted but not tired enough to nap.

In Mary Poppins A to Z, the book begins "A is for Annabel." While the spelling of the name may vary, this is certainly true.
-
I'm up, I'm up - five and a half hours of sleep - was up at two and could not fall back asleep until six. Upset tummy.
-
The sleep I DID get was good, though.
-
FJL, check your e-mail. I've sent you something you can post on All That Chat - I can't post there or I'd do it.
-
Shortly, I shall be on my way to the mail place.

Yes DR JOHN G that's the one.

Antsy and exhausted but not tired enough to nap.

LL? Lackluster leech? Lazy loufa? Loquacious lo-mein?

Watching the last of the Jacques Tati shorts. It’s a documentary about a small French town that makes it to the European Cup. What I love about it is that he captured in real life the absurdities that he created for his movies. And the sounds are wonderful too.

Let’s ditch this page.

Didn't The Crying Game (1992) have a twist, of a sort?
Why, yes, it did.

I was lucky and didn't have to wait too long.

Since my siblings were much older they could make the tea cups go super fast.

Well, Juggernaut was fairly all for naught.

It's the end of the day, and I'm plumb tuckered out.

Work days are a flurry now, and I'm really not able to check in here.

Bless Sharon Gless!

-
Yes. Sharon Gless. (Bless spellcheck’s misguided little brain.)
-
Thanks DR FREDDIE.
-
DR JOHN G all of the above.
-
Fast Charlie was fun because of the cast. Gless is especially raunchy, and it looks like she’s having a blast.
-
We actually had a very good audience tonight.....they were laughing at many things and there was generous applesauce at the end of each scene.
So perhaps the theeder is still alive and well.....

Good night, all.

Finished with my viewing.
-
Now listening to Louis Lane.
-
I saw Juggernaut at a sneak preview (and of course, we released the soundtrack) and I really enjoyed it back then.
-
Well, one of the kids dropped out - unbelievable - the one who had the opening number. Now I have to figure out another opening for the show AND find a solo for the girl who was going to duet with her on her second song. She has to do a recording - and the idiots doing it naturally HAVE to do it on our show date - no other date can work, none, only our show date. And I'm guessing it's some demo or amateur piece of merde.
-
Bad career move, kid!
-
I was lucky, I was sitting home one night and a buddy called and said, “Go see this movie, The Sixth Sense, now!” And it was playing at the movie theater near me in Park Slope, so I walked over and saw it, having never heard of it or seen an ad or anything. So my brain wasn’t trying to guess a twist. About 2/3 through the thing, I was a little annoyed. Like, ok, the kid is solving these dead-people mysteries. This is ok. … Then, the ending, pure exhilaration. I walked out with my jaw wide open, looking for any stranger to talk to. Did you see that? That was a once-in-a-lifetime movie experience.

I really had no idea about the "twist." I may have heard something, but I didn't pay attention, so when I saw the movie, I was gobsmacked! :o
-
So, my aunt and uncle's flight back to Germany was cancelled yesterday.
-
I don't know all the details, but they took a cab back to my mom's house (I don't know why they didn't try to find a hotel up there), and they were able to book another flight for today, which they were able to get on, so they're probably already back in Germany by now.
-
And then, my friend Shelly and I had lunch at Meconi's Subs (https://www.meconissubs.com/) and the subs that we both got were quite delish!
-
Then, later this afternoon, I was able to get my oil changed and tires rotated for free because I have three years (I think) of coverage, so that was cool. :)
-
Page six.
-
George shows up AFTER midnight and yet doesn't let it all hang out.
-
I was a bit hungry after the oil change (by then, it had been several hours after lunch at Meconi's), so I drove through the west side McDonald's and got a Daily Double burger and a large diet Coke.
-
Ridic.
-
George shows up AFTER midnight and yet doesn't let it all hang out.
I'm getting there!

Completely ridic.

Utterly ridic.
-
The Daily Double was pretty good, too, so no disappointing foodstuffs today.

So ridic that it's ridic.

I'll change the topic in about ten minutes, so post away.

Another VHS tape that I found was a cabaret performance by Ute Lemper called Illusions.
-
CastAlbums.org (https://castalbums.org/) only lists the CD:
https://castalbums.org/recordings/Illusions-1992-Ute-Lemper/5662
-
I'll have to add the VHS tape, since I actually have one.
-
There's an Amazon.com listing:
https://www.amazon.com/Illusions-Ute-Lemper/dp/6302653061/
-
But you have to click on the "See all buying options" link to see any copies that are for sale.
-
All the copies are listed as either "Very Good" or "Like New."
-
Here's a scan of my actual VHS tape:
-
It's never been released on DVD, and it's no longer in print.
-
Only used copies are available.
-
I also have the booklet, and it's in really good condition, too.
