Well, you've read the notes, the notes were groomed and kind of a dog, and now it is time for you to post until the groomed cows come home.

And the word of the day is: VICTORY!

Doctor’s appointment this morning.

Not a good night of sleep. Recurring dreams of ridiculous stuff that has to be done before an appointment. One of the things involves finding a no-kill shelter for a friend’s dogs.

I cannot get motivated this morning. I wanted to sleep late, but three hungry cats didn't agree, and I am a slave to their demands.
-
I need work, DRs, so - much as I feel that 15 years of vibes did nothing to sell that Ohio property - I could use some strong vibes that work comes along soon.
-
Remember those assessments I had to take several weeks ago? One lasted 2.5 hours. Well, the judgment arrived in yesterday's mail. They turned me down for everything, when all I was hoping for was housekeeping assistance.
-
BK, does your AC have a thermostat? I've set mine for 75 degrees, and I haven't worried about the heat since I turned it on in May.
-
DR Jrand73, I hope you had a successful round of auditions last night.
-
Notes combed. Groomed.
-
Good morn, dear Elmore.
-
Work vibes to you, absolutely.

Houston, I think we have a problem.
-
Huge and all best work vibes for DR Elmore.
-
Most of my rabbit holes pertain to things that are already of interest to me, but I can report on a recent one that literally came out of nowhere. For some reason, I was watching a couple of videos about pet iguanas, which are an amazing prehistoric looking animal, and those led me to bearded dragons, their smaller and - Lord help me - absolutely adorable little brothers and sisters.
No, I will NEVER take the plunge and acquire any such thing, but I admire those who do, and who post their all too short videos of their cute little monsters. (I first typed mobsters.)
So, a rabbit hole with dragons.

So I had a grand total of ZERO folks come to auditions last night.....everyone wants to be in a musical but nobody wants to be in a play....
I made a few calls.....still missing a couple of folks....we shall see what happens.
-
Work vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
On YOUTUBE now and then I watch some Sovereign Citizen videos - the idiots.
And I like to watch Trump supporters show how truly stupid they are - although that can be scary as well.
And I like to watch high school productions of some musicals to see the choreography...it is always apparent when the local dance teacher has been chosen to do the dances....
-
We have our read thru tomorrow.
-
Tuesday, Tuesday
Slept well. Dreamed nonsensse.
My yard is being mowed as I type, and it woke me up, so ($*@$#^?

I made a few calls.....still missing a couple of folks....we shall see what happens.
We've been there, DR Jrand73. For MUSICALS. And there are times when literally only three or four walk in. I think this was in 2017 - we announced Merrily, and several good regional performers told us they were thrilled, that it had been a bucket list show for years. So what happens? One (1) of those people auditioned, and she had a couple of conflicts. (She and one other person showed up that night.) The others? We never heard a peep. That's when we said %#@& it, we're doing I Do! I Do! and we made a grand total of two calls to cast it. One of our best decisions.
-
I watched a bit of Rachel Maddow last night.
What I learned:
Before Biden withdrew from the race, the DNC had $122 million for the 2024 campaign. Since Sunday, an additional $150 million has been raised, $80 million of it just for Harris' presidential bid.
I think Kamala has some "legs" in this race.
What I wouldn't give to see a debate with her on a stage with Trump!!!
-
On a much sadder note, one of my cousins who never discusses politics on Facebook, posted a "doctored" video that was easily disproven to have been an AI-generated voice making Harris sound like a drunk Trump.
I put a link to that fact in comments on her post.
She replied she only did it "because Harris is an idiot. She isn't qualified to do anything."
It was at that moment that I saw my cousin for the first time. I knew she was Republican, but I also thought she had more sense than that. I am disappointed and very disillusioned by this.

Ah, well. The last time I was assigned to Naples, Italy, there was a move to revive the Naples Little Theater which had a really glorious past.
We announced "Guys and Dolls", and auditions were packed. The show was cast, and at the first rehearsal only half the cast showed up. At the second, less than a quarter turned up.
At that point, we decided to do "A Funny Thing..." instead. First rehearsal, the same result -- folks wanted to be in the show but didn't want anything other than lead roles.
We compromised and did a dinner theater with four cast members. We all had a blast.

TOD:
My favorite rabbit hole is watching Rocky Tanaka videos on youtube.
He visits shelters and engages with stray dogs that look scared and unsociable.
He's very good at getting dogs to respond to treats and affection, but it takes a while.
-
TOD: TV theme songs just a few weeks (or was it months?) ago. After I'd watched three, YouTube kept suggesting more.
-
Casting vibes for Jrand!
-
Hope work shows up soon for you, Larry!
-
I’ve been down the Madeline Kahn rabbit hole lately.
-
I was on an On the 20th Century kick for a while watching every full production and clip I could find.

The doctor’s visit was perfunctory, a chance to try to get the insurance company to agree to the MRI.

Vibes that it works out!

I'm up, I'm up - six hours of sleep thanks to the idiot neighbors who were in their yard talking loudly all night - I thought they's stop at midnight, but noooo, it kept on going. Finally, at one-thirty I put on some shoes and went out there and said, "Oh neighbors, could you turn down the volume - it's one-thirty in the morning and some of us have to get up at eight." A woman apologized and they must have ended their little gab fest then.

Sounds like it was all handled in a very friendly manner.
Do you know these neighbors pretty well?
-
I am working on a rehearsal schedule and of course the conflicts are killing me.

Doctor’s appointment this morning.
I hope you are pleased with the visit.

Not a good night of sleep. Recurring dreams of ridiculous stuff that has to be done before an appointment. One of the things involves finding a no-kill shelter for a friend’s dogs.
:( What kind of dog? There are breed specific rescue groups?

I'm relieved your rabbit hole only involves watching them vs getting one.

Very scary. Even more frightening are the intellegent supporters.

I feel for you and your disappointment with your family.
I hate false information if it harms or helps my candidate.

Something to contest or just due to a hot summer?

I read a story of someone complaining that Joe Biden stepping aside has destroyed his anti-Joe-Biden business.
The best part of his story is when he mentions his children :)
It’s not like I can get my kids to go through and fix all the names with a marker, mainly because my kids said they find Harris “inspirational” and “exciting” and they don’t want to “be associated with spreading such a negative message for profit.”

Thanks DR JANE. We will have a good show....my leads are very good....and those who have joined us so far are very good as well.
A couple of folks will join us for the read thru tomorrow.

DR JANE & DR GEORGE yes.....the co$t......but it IS summer and I am using the heat pump....to cool the JackHouse.

I am reading my new issue of Southern Living and thinking about DR RON PULLIAM.
I inherited a couple of subscriptions from my late uncle....and the only ones I kept are House Beautiful (which mine ain't) and Southern Living which has great recipes.

Congratulations, George!

Up from a nap.

Finishing the rest of Butter, a Novel of Food and Murder.

DR Laura would you like to see Kelly as the VP pick?

I hope we are moving ahead to sanity thanks to Kamala....and whoever convinced slobbering Joe to hang it up.

I like feeling hopeful again.

Once again Jesse Green telegraphs his ignorance for all to see and read. His dislike of Irma la Douce because of a John Doyle production makes it seem as if the show is at fault. Perhaps, you could do a production, BK, that showcases that infectious score properly. Penguins and all.

Nectarine custard pie is in the oven.

TOD: A while ago I watched a pathologist who does autopsies. I learned a lot.

But I do vote. Always.
Good. I’m trying to be more like you. And I always vote.

Onward!

Five!

I'm just not sure Irma La Douce can survive the misguided film version, but I can be convinced...perhaps it is my Anti Shirley MacLaine/Jack Lemmon (in this movie) that is in play.
-
I express no opinions on political things. It will be what it will be.
I've tried (not always restraining myself successfully) to express my thoughts online through emoji on other people's posts and in my usual way, through parodies.
Last Thursday's speech suggested that he's the same as when he was President - He must have tried so hard to speak as the "unifier" - but the other free-for-all side, not recognizable as the same person, couldn't be suppressed or controlled.
This was how I'd dealt with there being two very distinct Donalds, back in 2017. It seems to still be applicable!
Parody sitcom idea from back when he was President:
But They're Donalds, Identical Donalds!

I am impressed DR FREDDIE. It has to be said.
-
I express no opinions on political things. It will be what it will be.
I thought maybe being your state guy you might have an opinion if you wanted to keep him or if you preferred him for VP. I completely understand your preference not to comment.
-
But I do vote. Always.
I expected as much, not that everyone does.
-
'night
-
Good night, Jane!
-
Thank you so much, Jrand!

Finishing a fascinating documentary called Taking Venice. It’s about the Biennale of 1964 when Rauschenberg won by questionable means. Fascinating story of the artist, who worked with John Cage and Merce Cunningham.
-
It goes a little into his live affair with Jasper Johns as well as his later work.
-
I have sn autographed Rauschenberg poster in my living room. It’s not numbered, but it is beautiful.
-
DR Chas I have a friend who keeps bearded dragons
-
Her husband is terribly allergic to all types of furs so these were the only pets they coukd have
-
They quite adore them
-
I want to the dentist to discuss his idea.
-
He wants to remove two teeth and replace them with implants
-
He says the teeth are in very poor condition but I have absolutely no pain
-
Oh and he expects the cost to be $10K
-
I’ll check the pockets of my winter coasts and have a look under the sofa seat cushions and get back to him
-
Could you find some extra change for me, Vixmom?
-
It would help with the water heater cost.
-
Brat. Nuff said.
-
I dozed off for fifteen minutes. I ordered some chicken tenders from the jernt where I get my fried catfish from - what arrived? Fried mozzarella sticks, which I hate. I ate a couple and the rest went in the trash. Got a partial refund. You don't substitute like that without calling first. They apparently ran out of chicken. I've had it with this place, frankly - two mistakes in two weeks is two too many.
-
Only thirty more posts until a new plateau.
-
Will that happen this evening?
-
Certainly possible, I suppose - tomorrow for sure, if not tonight.
-
Could be.
-
Who knows.
-
It's only just out of reach, down the block, on a beach.

Under a tree.

Congratulations, George!
Thanks, John!

I've got a feeling there's a modern major miracle due, gonna come true, comin' to me!
-
See?
-
Now there's only twenty posts to go - yes, tonight's the night.

I feel it in my bones.

And just what is it doing in my bones, anyway?

Pie!

That looks quite yummy, John!

The new Kritzer softcover has been shipped - the hardcover hopefully will not take another two weeks like they've been doing.

That could have been three posts.

Good. I’m trying to be more like you. And I always vote.
I always vote, as well.
-
Well, there have been a couple of local elections that I missed, but afterward when I looked up how they went, they went the way I would've voted, so it's all good. ;D
-
And just what is it doing in my bones, anyway?
Do you mean Cousin Itt from The Addams Family?
-
as in: "When you're through, Mrs. Pugh comes to take Itt away."
-
At least, the votes that I remembered missing and looking up. ::)
-
I've got a feeling there's a modern major miracle due, gonna come true, comin' to me!
Here's hoping.

Watching a nifty noir called Act of Violence. I've seen it before, but am enjoying it again. Robert Ryan plays a WWII vet with a vendetta against seemingly all-American Van Heflin. He has some ugly secrets. Janet Leigh, Mary Astor and Phyllis Thaxter round out the excellent cast.
-
I didn’t realize Act of Violence was directed by Fred Zinnemann. Excellent work.
-
I am reading my new issue of Southern Living and thinking about DR RON PULLIAM.
I inherited a couple of subscriptions from my late uncle....and the only ones I kept are House Beautiful (which mine ain't) and Southern Living which has great recipes.
Thanks for thinking of me, Jack Randall Earles! I also get Southern Home magazine, although I do not subscribe. I believe my mom did at one time. They may try to guilt me to renew subscription at some point, but I usually give them to the postmaster for his Mrs.

It is now raining buckets and buckets here in Johnston.
We have rain falling nearly every evening lately. It makes the grass grow.
There is heavy wind right now, and I'm hoping that the denuded tree stump doesn't decide to nosedive across the road.

Good night, all.

I've had it with this place, frankly - two mistakes in two weeks is two too many.
That's not good at all! :P

Finished with my viewing.
-
With my viewing I'm finished.
-
Interesting movie - not great but almost well cast.
-
And WHY would they think that cheese is a substitute for the fish?? :o
-
From 2013. I'd never even heard of it.
-
More in the notes.
-
No, cheese was a substitute for chicken - ridic.
-
I do not care for page seven.
-
My friend David is lactose-intolerant and wouldn't even be able to take a bite of the mozzarella sticks.
-
I should write some notes, but let's just get to the new plateau before I do.
-
As long as George is here to capture the momentous moment.
-
Soon, I promise.
-
Not later - when is later?
-
Now - we're close to now.
-
Closer than ever.
-
Any minute now.
-
as in: "When you're through, Mrs. Pugh comes to take Itt away."
:))
-
Shortly.
-
Like really shortly.
-
Like - drum roll -
-
Congrats, BK! Your latest HHW-record breaking millstone!! :D
-
As long as George is here to capture the momentous moment.
The momentous moment has been captured!
-
Well, this is something that Jane might be interested to learn about (I know my sister and niece will be):
Beyond Meat's newest sausages aren't pretending to be meat anymore (https://www.fastcompany.com/91160776/beyond-meats-newest-sausages-vegetables-fruits-legumes)
Beyond Sun Sausage isn't meant to mimic meat. Instead, it features whole vegetables and legumes
-
HHW plateau vibes!
-
Well, I guess we can't stop here.
-
We're not even at Post #200, yet!
-
Gratuitous Post #200!! ;D
-
Well, another VHS tape that I came across is a PBS program called, A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGING - Public Television's Gift To You.
-
It's from 1996 and I can only assume that I recorded it in 1996.
-
The video quality is still really darned good for an almost 30-year old VHS tape.
-
Burrito?
-
It was recorded during a pledge drive, and the videotape of the concert was a premium for a $75 pledge, so copies of the videocassette tape are out there and on eBay.
-
Fish sticks?
-
Legumes?
-
Apple Brown Betty?
-
Anything?
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
Burrito?
Nope...tonight was frozen orange chicken that I got at Costco.
-
I had gotten a bottle of Panda Express' Orange Sauce at Fred Meyer (or maybe WinCo) and used that instead of the sauce packet that was part of the frozen orange chicken.
-
I'd had some of that before and didn't care for it.
-
The Panda Express Orange Sauce was just right.
