Well, you've read the notes, the notes pronounced all their T's, and now it is time for you to post until the T-pronouncing cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: HEARTILY!
-
Topic of the Day: the dropping of the Ts and other lazy language bad habits don't bother me too much, but I always wonder how they learned to speak that way. Did they just hear someone else do that and thought it was "cool" and decided to imitate it and it stuck? Or do they speak that way because they physically can't speak any other way, like the way some people can't do accents? It's literally just the way they talk? I don't think I ever noticed it until just a few years ago. :-\
Very strange.
-
Not able to sleep.

This repor on the dropping of the T is inerresing.

Good morning, all.

I feel like the proverbial truck ran over me. Just could have used a better sleep, is all.

I feel like the proverbial truck ran over me. Just could have used a better sleep, is all.
That's two of us. To the dismay of three cats, it took forever to drag me out of bed and to a can of Fancy Feast.
-
And I have a morning rehearsal. After that, the day is mine.
-
The outdoor theeder had their show cancelled by the weather last night, and I fear it'll happen again tonight. This is terribly yucky weather.

Once my housekeeping chores are over, I'm making chili. I have no other plans for the weekend.

Last night I watched three acts of a 1980 Opera de Lyon production of Offenbach's La Vie Parisienne. The cast is fun and the costumes are quite wonderful, but the singing is often second-rate and the direction is third-rate or lower. The operetta is essentially a French farce: Gardefeu, a man-about-town, tries to seduce Swedish baroness by pretending to be a guide; he tells the Baron and Baroness that his suite of rooms is an annex of the Grand Hotel; and since he needs other hotel guests to show up for the table d'hote, he persuades his glovemaker, bootmaker, and their friends to show up and pretend to be members of the aristocracy and high society. Meanwhile, the Swedish Baron is out to get laid by Metella, a Parisian courtesan who is the former mistress of Gardefeu and who still loves him. It should be very fast and funny. This production was not.

Good morning, all.

Got some fitful sleep. Had a weird, recurring dream in which I had a job in which I was supposed to help a catatonic boy. He was in a car and not moving. I could not move him but I had to wait until he asked for help. His sister was outside the car and wailing for her brother to be helped. The car was apparently parked outside a child welfare office. The boy waited until about an hour after it had opened to ask for help. He had been caned across both hands, leading to his mental state. The father could not understand that he had done anything wrong, even when the kids were taken from him and a judge admonished him that his actions, while supposedly legal, had such dire consequences. The girl was also having nightmares as a result. The father was asked to give the kids up for adoption, which is about when I woke up.

TOD:
Irritants include the MISpronounciation of "mischievous". It is THREE (count 'em 3) syllables only. No alternative pronunciations exist...except in people's minds.
I find that texting on my phone is a major challenge when it comes to letters, but it's not the "t's" that get me. I can be typing and "sddnly, ll my vwls" seem to vanish even though I know I typed them. It is very "rrttng"! (that was "irritating" without the vowels).
As for the missing "t's", I notice that many people talk in a way in which they do not prounce the "t" making the words seem choppy. "Oh, I live in ManHA-en" is an example, in addition to "First, you BUH-en your shirt...". I expect its a path toward a shift in speech patterns influenced in many ways by Ebonics and Valley speak, etc.
-
But, what do I know?!!
-
I slept very, very well.
Dreamed weird dream.
I dreamed I was in a "Polders" program.
I had no idea what it meant, but everyone involved in carrying it out were fervent about it. When was the last time you were "fervent" about anything? I digress.
It turned out that Polders was a program in which older people, who were in stasis, changed places with younger people who went into stasis. I never figured out why it was called "Polders", but it must have been "programming olders" or something.
Too weird.

Get this. Then try to drive home.
-
These are the things I ponder edition:
-
If Jimmy or Judy cracked corn, and nobody cared,
-
Then why did they write a song about it?
-
That's what I'd like to know.
-
I know a few people I could gift this to:
-
I wonder if they would be offended?
-
I'm up, I'm up - only five hours of sleep but it was good sleep. I'm sure I'll get a couple more later.

I was ploughing through various pages on Amazon and found out that John Wilson has done a complete recording of "Carousel".
As it stands, only selections are available for streaming on Amazon, but I listened to Nathaniel Hackmann's masterful "Soliloquy" -- absolutely the finest version I have ever heard. He acts it and sings it, and it's beyond wonderful,
It will be on the Chandos label when it's released.
I don't know if this link will work if you don't have Prime, but give it a shot:

Hackmann's voice is a miracle! I thought him exceptional on "Oklahoma!", but this one gave me chills.

From DR Geroge:
So tomorrow morning, I'm going to meet Marko, pug's husband, at a local U-Haul rental place and rent a moving truck so that we can empty the (now former :'( ) OlyTheater performance space at the Capital Mall.
Vibes the move goes well.
-
George have a great time at your 40th high school reunion.

Back - from a longer-than-expected rehearsal in an un-air-conditioned church. And that's it for me for today. Except I might go out to the supermarket later, but no biggie.

DR Jane, we don't have a travel cooler, but the meds should be fine, so long as you don't leave them in a hot car and take them in with you wherever you are going.

Weird as in Republican?

Got the oil changed and slept some more. More dreams.
In one, the grown version of the sister I helped in the earlier dream sees her father accidentally. He’s running for local office, and she sees him campaigning. She starts screaming that he’s a monster and child abuser. And that if her brother ever saw him, he’d flip out. The brother, it seems, was a promising violinist until his father destroyed his hands. Under a new name, he became a prominent composer but was forever angry that he could never play his own music.
The father had left messages for his kids for years. They never wanted to see or hear from him again, so the messages were never passed on. He never understood that anything he did was wrong, but he eventually was forced to drop out of the race. The girl’s PTSD was terrible, but she didn’t want her brother to know.
-
In another dream, my friend and dance teacher’s late dog Tango came up to me and started sharing some love. Tango was a great dog.
-
The third dream had me working at a specialty grocery. I was learning the prices of things when I pulled out a package that was like a log of goat cheese but wrapped in green paper. It was mispriced at $384,000. I started laughing.
“What’s so funny?” an elderly woman shopper asked.
I showed her the price and said, “It costs extra, I guess, because it’s marked large.”
She didn’t get it and stormed off.
-
That’s enough dreams.
-
Vibes for George on the move.
-
Really enjoying Docile: Memoirs of a Not-So-Perfect Asian Girl, by Hyeseung Song.
-
Goat cheese.

I just watched a film titled Count Yorga, vampire released in 1970.
It is most entertaining. Although the title character is played by her ordinary looking actor, the four actors including Roger Perry and Michael Murphy in supporting roles are very good looking.
I don't know if it was the director's choice or the director of photography.....BUT it is a most excellent [clothed] baskets and buns spectacular of the supporting actors in 1970's garb.
And in the beginning there are several shots of LA that I am sure MR BK could identify. The most excellent shot is that of DuPars.....a restaurant I only know from posts on HHW.
-
DR Jane, we don't have a travel cooler, but the meds should be fine, so long as you don't leave them in a hot car and take them in with you wherever you are going.
Not too inconvenient, as long as you remember them.

Hello, everyone.
-
That proverbial trunk that got DRs Chaz and Elmore sure gets around! It got me today, too! And I even had a Me Day on Thursday.
I’d planned to do cleaning today, but I suspect there won’t be much done.
-
Thanks to Rodz for the legal perspective on my new rent-payment situation. I hadn’t thought about that side of things at all. In this case, we have the option of using USPS. I don’t trust it, given how much of our mail is missing. I’ll pay the $2.49 and be grateful that the rent here was so low for so many years. I’m also actively looking for better housing.
-
Vibes to your Kiwi neighbor.
-
John G, what colorful dreams! Any idea what prompted them?
-
Good afternoon!
-
Up again - got three and a half more hours of sleep, so that's good.
-
Guess I'll mosey on over to the mail place.
-
Wordle: 2/6.
-
As for the missing T, I hadn’t noticed. What I do notice is how so many people, mostly of the young variety, speak unclearly. I have trouble understanding them. This wasn’t a problem with other generations. Is it just a trend toward sloppiness?
-
Hi, Kevin. And Bruce.
-
Have a nice day, everyone.
TTFN.
-
Moving vibes for George!
-
Since page 4 is so close...
-
PAGE FOUR!
-
John G, it feels like there might be a hit play or movie in your dreams. Or maybe a TV series.
-
John G, what colorful dreams! Any idea what prompted them?
I think I forgot to take my muscle relaxer last night. Only thing I can think of.
-
Wordle: 2/6.
Congrats!
-
Back from the mail place - mailed a check, picked up a small package.
-
iPhone froze completely and chirped every thirty seconds. None of the online solutions solutioned. Called Apple, they had me do the same solution only really fast - that worked and it's back to normal.
-
Reading glasses broke on one side - the ones I bought last month are too strong so I'll go back to CVS tomorrow and get ones like I had.
-
Went to Gelson's and got stuff for faux stroganoff.
-
Making it now.
-
Not exactly a ME day.
-
Also, ordered Diet Cokes (completely out) from Walmart - cheapest price - and they'll deliver by four-thirty. I bought two twenty ounce bottles to get me through until then.
-
A/C is working and I'm just gonna leave it on until six or seven.
-
At the hotel. But we don’t dance for another two hours.

Reading glasses are a blessing.
-
Late Saturday night here in Indiana.......
-
Well....9:49 p..m. which his late as relative......not so much when I was in my 30's to be sure....when it was just the shank of the evening so to speak....but at 73 years old....it is late......
-
First time watching To Catch a Thief tonight.
-
On Paramount+. I don't think it was the new transfer.
-
The night scenes were terribly green.
-
It's not easy being green.
-
I am not used to being old.....but I have to accept it.....
-
Good night, friends.
-
And others.
-
But it is nice DR singdaw.....Cary Grant and all......
-
I am not used to being old.....but I have to accept it.....
No, you don't. You can decide to ignore it. It won't be easy. And it might not be pretty. But denial is everything when it comes to growing old.
-
Agree. Everyone else is getting old. Not me.
-
I am here to announce that I just tuned the radio to one of the local classical stations, and they’re playing Nutcracker. One can’t help but wonder if DR Jrand73’s bored have anything to do with this.
-
As in, the ballet. Not the suite. So far, at any rate.
-
And now I must get my beauty sleep, as tomorrow noon is North By Northwest.
So that is all. Good night, everyone.
-
At the hotel. But we don’t dance for another two hours.
Sending you dance competition vibes!
Ditto even if I am late. I hope it was a good evening.
-
Reading glasses are a blessing.
Right now, unless I wear my contacts, I don't need them. I am going to truly appreciate this statement after my cataract surgery.
-
We had a wonderful evening with our friends in Portland. A delecious dinner at an Italian restaurant and then a long visit at their home.
-
The last time Craig saw our friend was July 30, 2017. He was able to meet her fiance. Odds are Craig won't be able to return for the wedding. We hope he won't be the only family member missing. Even Freyja will be there.
-
Home from the competition and exhausted. My partners all danced well.
-
Good night, all.

Vibes the move goes well.
Thanks, Jane.
-
It did go well. We're not done, but the bulk of it is now gone from the space.
-
It did take a while. Marko and I got the truck at 10:00, then I was there until about 4:00 or so.
-
George have a great time at your 40th high school reunion.
Thanks again, Jane! I did have a great time!
-
I will confess that there were some people who recognized me that I didn't recognize. ::)
-
But I was able to reconnect with Andrew, my best friend from high school, and everyone was there to have a great time, and I think we all did.
-
The food was pretty good.
-
We had street tacos that you assembled yourself, and lasagna (I didn't have any lasagna there, but I brought some home ;) ), a very garlicky Caesar salad (nice and garlicky) and a few other things.
-
We just sat and chatted and ate and caught up and there was a quiz with questions about what was popular in the 1980s and we had fun filling it out together.
-
Trying to remember John Hughes movies.
-
Several people asked about my hobbies, and of course, I mentioned my theatering.
-
AND the loss of our space just today.
-
But several people were interested in that, so I shared.
-
That was fun, too.
-
And now...
-
GRATUITOUS POST #150 PAGE SIX DANCE!!
-
And now, Norton is updating nine drivers on my computer.
-
Norton!!!
-
BK MIA
-
Took kids to local water park today. Nearly got badly hurt. Not fun.
-
Most of day was fun. Kids have become good swimmers, etc. Coming toward end of our stay, son and I had gone down this slide that’s basically through a dark tunnel on an inter tube.
-
He wants to do it again. We’re on separate tubes. He goes first. My turn comes. Right Ita the top of the tunnel, this is like 5 stories up. My tube flips upside down.
-
Of course, as per usual, George jammed in at one minute to midnight.
-
I was late in writing the damn notes.
-
I was watching a motion picture and very involved in same.
-
And we're still on page six.
-
George is updating Norton.
-
Norton is updating Ralph Kramden.
-
Slam my head into fiberglass wall pretty damn hard. I’m now floating down this tunnel in darkness, but not in a tube. Luckily I held onto it. But at one point I’m stopped midway through, getting my wits about me. How I stayed conscious I don’t know.
-
George is gone with the wind.
-
And we're still on page six.
-
Not very sporting.
-
But what is?
-
No more slamming of heads.
-
Or tails.
-
Now I’m scared the kids operating this thing are going to send someone else down after me and kill me. I scramble onto my tube on my belly, just hang on for my life.
-
There apparently is no end to this damn page.
-
And no beginning of the next damn page.
-
Hardly cricket.
-
A sticky wicket.
-
Not the ticket.
-
Make it down into the pool. My leg is bleeding. Get back to the fam, the kids are crying at worry for me. Somehow I feel okay still. Very lucky. Not going back.
-
You know where I'd like to stick it.
-
Never go back.
-
BK do you sell softcover of Directed By?
-
No more bleeding legs.
-
We must take care of ourselves.
-
I do not care for page seven.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
They are posted for all to see.
