And the word of the day is: WOW!
-
Notes read. Re-read.

Good morning, friends.

And others.

I have no idea what kinetic sand is.

But I already know I don't like it.

But I'll take a raspberry bombe.

Whatever that is.

Here’s to a great show for BK and Co.!
-
Good morning.
-
Singdaw, the grandmas among us know from kinetic sand.
-
So does Rodzinski.
-
Yet another storm missed us last night.
-
It's a nice cool morning today. Only 86 degrees at 5:30 a.m. So I'll be out for my walk as soon as i finish my mushroom and parmesan breakfast.
-
What could go wrong?
:)
-
Vibes to BK and company, for an excellent Kritzerland show!
-
George, hoping you have a wonderful time today!

One of those monkeys could get it into his head to conquer the world.....and then we've got The Planet of the Apes.
Maybe that's how it all really got started.
-
Vibes for MR BK & Co for a wonderful show.
-
Today is my oldest brother's birthday - he will be 75 years old.
I have to walk down there sometime and remind him that for 14 days he will be wo years older than I am.
-
Happy birthday to JRand’s older brother!
-
Thank you DR JOHN G.

Ditto!

I've got a 40 lb carton of litter sitting in the lobby that I cannot bring up by myself. Yesterday, I sent a request to building management asking if they would have one of the nice young men living in Apt 1E - who take care of the garbage, recyclables, and other things around the building - tote it up to the third floor for me. So far, no word.
-
I have to make my bed so I can lie in it for a while.
-
I'm up, I'm up - six and a half hours of sleep.
-
Already shaved.

Is your building management staffed to receive requests on weekends?
-
But I already know I don't like it.
I believe in kinetic sand.
-
I would gladly bring that bag up for you, Larry, were I there.
-
Just imagine if DR Larry Moore had a neighbor with a dog, and needed help!
-
Apologies to the Moore cats.

I went out to get my lunch just a little before 11 a.m.
As I pressed the garage door button, one of the door opening mechanism's wires snapped and fell to the floor of my garage.
Happily, it's a two-car garage and the other door works fine.
Still, another house call from garage door repair service.
Sigh.
And I didn't get lunch. The place was packed with people...and service was delayed because they had a late start.
Sigh. Sigh.
Yes, that was a double sigh.
-
I may go back, since it's a mile away. But it's aggravating when establishments don't open ready for customers at the posted times.
-
That's all I know.
That's all I have to say.
I am still curious about the subject of BK's rather irritating Facebook message exchange from a few days ago.
Curious, but not losing any sleep.

Hello and Happy Sunday! The latest Broadway Radio Show is up on the site for your listening pleasure. Author Thomas Hischak joins me to chat about his new book Song of the Season, in which he looks at every Broadway season from 1891/1892 thru 2022/2023 and picks what he feels is the most significant show tune from each season. It's a informative, entertaining book and we had a terrific time talking about it and playing some of his choices!

And now, I'm off!
Until later!
-
Have fun, George.
-
I just bought a Kindle called Collected Works of Sinclair Lewis. It is only the novels currently in public domain. But there's a note saying it will automatically be updated whenever a title goes into public domain.
-
There were 10 novels now and some short stories. All for $1.99.
-
There are still one or two Edith Whartons not in public domain.
-
From DR George:
Everything is made of solid wood, not pressed particleboard or plywood. I don't know how old the set it, but old enough that they were made to last.
It sounds nice. I look forward to the photos once you have them inside your home, hopefully sooner than later.
-
From George:
I still really do like my original round table, so I think I'll keep it for a while. I can take off, and apart, the legs and hang it all in my garage until I make a decision.
You can take apart your round table vs the new one, correct? Be sure to take photos before removing the round table so you can compare the before and after.
-
George, thanks for the surgery vibes.
-
.
I wish my sons were closer.
-
Singdaw, the grandmas among us know from kinetic sand.
;D
-
So does Rodzinski.
:)
-
I think it is fun to play with kinetic sand.

Yet another storm missed us last night.
Darn!

Vibes to Bruce and company, for an excellent Kritzerland show!

I miss Vixmom.
Same here.
-
I miss Iris.
Very much so.
-
Today is my oldest brother's birthday - he will be 75 years old.
I have to walk down there sometime and remind him that for 14 days he will be wo years older than I am.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUR OLDEST BROTHER!
-
Just imagine if DR Larry Moore had a neighbor with a dog, and needed help!
I don't need help standing. I need help carrying things!
-

Great price!

My father was inspired by Arrowsmith to become a doctor.

My father was inspired by Arrowsmith to become a doctor.
The book and not the musical version, I assume
-
It's hot hot, hot today.
-
So, of course, I am making soup.

Onward!

I had a chicken carcass.

So in the pot it goes.

The book and not the musical version, I assume
LOL, yes the novel.
-
And he must have been fairly young when he read it.
-
I had a chicken carcass.
That scans perfectly to the tune of "I had a little dreydl"
-
I went to book an appointment for our flu vaccinations and the website isn't working correctly.
-
It is strange as it is only offering vaccinations for travel, not the usual ones.
-
I am impressed that DR JANE's father was inspired by ARROWSMITH.
I am also impressed that there is an Edith Warton novel NOT in public domain.
-
Thanks to all for the birthday wishes for my brother.
I have spoken to him today....and tomorrow I shall take him down his desktop calendar for 2025.....and remind him that he is OLD.
-
timely show vibes for MR BK & Co.
SOMEDAY it is my wish to attend a Kritzerland Show.
And it would be wonderful it all of the HHW denizens were there......it is a wish. If I win the lottery.....it will happen.
-
77 comfortable degrees here......although FALL is my favorite season.....these days of summer have been wonderful.
-
SOMETHING ROTTEN opens on Thursday, so I am beating the drums 'cos here comes our show this week.....as chairperson of the Promotions Committee.
-
Sell those tickets! Get butts in seats. Make it happen!
-
So let it be written so let it be done.
My tickets are for Saturday night.
-
I have four.....but I doubt I will need more than two and will turn the other two into the box office for resale.....if anyone is interested.....time will tell.....
-
Although I am certain it will have greater sell/attendance figures than the upcoming FLOWERS FOR ALGERNON......
This will be the second year in a row a show I have directed will have the most anemic attendance figure......I can live with it......
-
I have had a lazy day.
-
I'm kinda liking it.
-
I do have to shower and go dancing.
-
Thanks to all for the birthday wishes for my brother.
I have spoken to him today....and tomorrow I shall take him down his desktop calendar for 2025.....and remind him that he is OLD.

;D
Sorry but it's DonOLD.
-
The shower helped.
-
But I still think I will melt when I step outside.
-
I just said no to one person who got back with me too late for the article. And another person who swore he'd call me today hasn't called. I don't care anymore.
-
The deadline was Friday. With a grace period of the weekend.
-
Five!
-
Later, gators.
-
I am impressed that DR JANE's father was inspired by ARROWSMITH.
So was I after I read the book.
-
Wordle: 3/6
Nice, and same as Keith.

DR John G., I hope the dancing venue is air conditioned.
-
Big Bugs.
-
I accomplished little today.
-
Took a long nap.
-
Secured groceries.
-
Sang at a jazz/gospel church service.
-
My left hand is quite sore. I wonder if I taxed it perfecting my hand jive.
-
'night
-
I put on my Sunday clothes, but nothing happened.
-
I expected singing and dancing.
-
Read BK's summary of today's show on FB.
-
Sounds fantastic.
-
In the meantime, I heard the creature wasn't nice.
-
Can anyone confirm?
-
I put on my Sunday clothes, but nothing happened.
I think it means that you won't have a Blue Monday.
-
'night
Good night, Jane.
-
I think it means that you won't have a Blue Monday.
;D
-
We must get to a new page.
-
But there's a paucity of posts.
-
A paucity, I tell you.
-
I am reduced to nonsense.
-
Nonsense, I tell you.
-
PAGE SIX
-
Good night, friends.
-
DR JOHNG I didn't call you either.
-
Sunday at 10:15 p.m.
-
More Grant Gary at TCM....what's not to like.
-
Home again, home again.
-
My left hand is quite sore. I wonder if I taxed it perfecting my hand jive.
Oh, is THAT what they're calling it nowadays?
-
Good night, all.
-
Have fun, George.
Thanks, John! I did!
-
Gee whiz, I thought I'd posted when I got home.
-
I was in a hurry to make the long Facebook post - it's in the Notes, too, so you'll read it right here.
-
Show was one for the ages.
-
Could not have gone better.
-
Over 100 people in attendance.
-
Sound check was fun.
-
I had some fruit prior to the show.
-
After the show, I had to wait for the check and then I met Robert Yacko for food at the Coral Cafe.
-
I had a patty melt and fries - really good and just what the doctor ordered.
-
For a treat, I took home a tiny slice of chocolate cream pie.
-
It's currently eighty-two-degrees in the home environment and the A/C is blowing hot air - not tepid air - hot air. I've told Grant and hopefully he can get someone out here tomorrow.
-
It's unbearable, really.
-
Finished the Morricone documentary.
-
Ultimately, very moving.
-
Page six?
-
Again?
-
Not very sporting.
-
Not very.
-
Listening to some of Morricone's greatest hits.
-
What a composer.
-
Cabrillo Festival is over for another summer. So I no longer have to be a social butterfly as a new board member at all the events.
-
There was a post-concert reception where I got to meet three of the composers on tonight's program, which was great fun since I enjoyed all their music.
-
One of the longtime orchestra musicians is retiring and another is leaving the orchestra due to a new regular job. It's sad to see them go, but the new younger musicians coming into the orchestra are playing wonderfully. So the torch is getting passed with spirit.
-
Notes are written.
-
In the writing of the notes, I came to the sudden realization that I do not care for page seven.
-
But at least we got there.
-
I'm heading to a fancy shmancy new number.
-
Forty more postings.
-
Doable.
-
George should be along in about twenty-eight minutes.
-
I, on the other hand, am along now.
-
George should be along in about nine minutes.
-
With his jam.
-
Jam on toast.
-
Toast on jam.
-
Jam in your jammies.
-
Did Jimmy jam in his jammies?
-
George should be along in four minutes.
-
Taking bets?
-
Yes?
-
No?
-
Maybe?
-
Could be.
-
Who knows?
-
Two minutes to jam.
-
One minute to jam.
-
The jam seems to have jammed.
-
George was not watching his jam clock.
-
He still has thirty seconds.
-
And yet.
-
The jig and jam are up.
-
Up, do you hear me?
-
Burritos are more important than we are.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
Could not have gone better.
That's great, BK!
-
It's currently eighty-two-degrees in the home environment and the A/C is blowing hot air - not tepid air - hot air. I've told Grant and hopefully he can get someone out here tomorrow.
Yikes! :o

That's NOT great, BK!
