Well, you've read the notes, the notes were speedy, and now it is time for you to post until the speedy cows come home.

TOD: Nathan's hot dogs and especially the French fries had a distinctive (in a great way) taste to them. And when I was in Florida for several months a few years back - a chain which included the Nathan's menu, and had convenient drive-through, was everywhere.
They had a consistent quality level that could rival McDonald's lived up to delicious memories of the Coney Island offerings at Nathan's my Brooklyn yute.
-
Based on posting a few days ago, there seems to be some agreement here on the quality of McDonald's hash browns.
-
Good morning, all!
-
My attempt to get out of bed earlier today went completely to hell this morning. Instead, I slept later than usual.
-
Kamala may be pushing ahead of ther Fat Orange Slug, but Nate Silver says the thing to watch out for is the antiquated - and shouod have been dumped ages ago - Electoral College.
-
Where O where is our DR vixmom?

TOD
I haven't been back to my hometown since 2017, so I haven't been to two of my favorites since then, namely Taco Bell and Wendy's, which I remain ambivalent about because they are so pro-Rethuglican. The only fast food place I get to in Manhattan, maybe 3-4 times a year, is McDonalds.
-
Good morning, all.

Slept mostly well. I had dreams about the Titanic. Go figure.

Tonight Something Rotten opens....I am working in the box office before the show and at intermission.
-
Ugh.
-
Can you leave after intermission?
-
TOD:
We have a bunch of taquerias that are fast and delicious. Erick’s Tacos is temptingly too close to my house. Their carnitas tacos with cilantro and onions are excellent. Their hot sauce is fiery.
Of the chain places, I like Popeyes best with Whataburger being a close second. During Lent, the Whatacatch fish sandwich blows the Filet-o-fish out of the water.
-
Good morning, good day!
How are you this beautiful day?
-
Slept appallingly well, although my dreams were all over the place and a bit weird. Nothing troublesome, but very odd.
Every morning, I wake up with the very unreasonable hope that I will hear or read tragic news of an aneurysm or stroke or other debilitating event that had stricken a very unpleasant 78-year-old who is one of the most vile people on the planet. My guess, however, is that vast amounts of cholesterol must NOT be the danger the medical community says.
Ah, me!
-
My penance for such terrible thoughts is having to live in the world where he lives.
-
I have many things to do, although I must muster the energy to get started. I know I don't need to finish everything in one day, but getting into doing it is my Everest.
-
TOD:
I don't have too many choices locally for fast food, although Edgefield has a very decent McDonald's and a new Bojangles which I have not tried.
I love Taco Bell and visit one in North Augusta after my infrequent medical visits in that neighborhood.
I truly love Burger King, but have none nearby. I know they are within 20-30 miles of me in three directions, but that rather defeats the notion of them being "fast foods" unless I'm in those areas for other purposes.
Sigh.
-
DR George: Thanks for that hopeful reply. Would love to oblige with the airfare, food and lodging, but I am a retiree. Perhaps I might win the lottery?

Last night's Brussels production of Orphee aux Enfers was frighteningly bad. What is it with Eurotrash directors who prove completely incompetent directors and who in the fat hell hires them? And why?
Orphee aux Enfers is a rude sex farce: Music teacher Orpheus hates his wife Eurydice, who's having a fling with the local shepherd/honey vendor Aristeus. Orpheus plantrs poisoned snakes in the cornfield separating their houses and Eurydice gets bitten and dies. Aristeus turns out to be the god Pluto, who carries Eurydice off to hell. Orpheus is delighted until the harridan Public Opinion shows up and demands he follow her to Olympus to demand she be returned to him. He doesn't want to but he's a slave to Public Opinion. On Olympus the gods are sick of nectar and ambrosia and being bossed around by Jupiter, who - having heard what a beauty Eurydice is - decides to take all the gods and goddesses to hell with Orpheus and check oput the deceased wife. In the underworld, Eurydice is sick of Aristeus and bored, so when Jupiter shows up, she's interested in following him back to Olympus.
A production should be funny and sexy. The Brussels production had a lot of faux fornication and ugly sets and costumes. Olympus looked like a hotel restaurant, the gods were all dressed in haute couture evening dress, hell looked like a war zone. The men playing Orpheus and Aristeus/Pluto were good, and Elizabeth Vidal was fantastic as Eurydice. I'd give it 0.5 stars out of 5.0.

I feel a bit groggy though the anesthesiologist said I should feel less relaxed this time.
-
Maybe it is because I have a headache this time.
-
A quick scientific observation, if I may:
Two distinct segments of the human race - choral directors and voice teachers - are THE WORST when it comes to making and keeping decent, readable copies of the music that their choirs and voice students are taught from and perform from year after year after year.
Some of the stuff I see, I'd swear the copies were made in the 1960s on the most primitive of photocopiers. By ill-trained chimpanzees.
This is nothing new. I've been dealing with it for a couple of decades. And I love these people. They're good. They know how to teach and they get great results. But when I ask for music and see the predictable execrable copies heading in my direction, I want to run the other way.
All of this will be covered in detail in my next award-winning documentary on a PBS station near you.

Had a Firehouse Sub - I've enjoyed it the other two times, but this was kind of yucky.

I don't remember being this sleepy last week. Maybe because it was later in the day and closer to bedtime.

Good evening.

Hi Laura.
-
TOD: I rarely eat fast food. But my favorite is Jack-in-the-Box's Ultimate Cheeseburger. But they have good specials totaling about five dollars, so I get whatever their special is if I go there.
-
But if I'm in the mood for some real junk food, nothing beats a box of junk from Taco Bell.

Of course there's also the whole audition nightmare in which the piano's music rack sees every imaginable horror. But people write and complain about that all the time, at least in forums or groups where I hang out. I'd just never seen my particular little spiel noted anywhere else.

I've actually been trying to eat a little better, or at least eat less fast and/or processed foods than I have for years, and these posts are KILLING ME.

KILLING ME.

Why don't we all eat a piece of peace?

Watching a documentary called Swan Song. It’s about Karen Kain, who danced with Nureyev, staging her own Swan Lake before retiring after 50 years in the ballet world.
-
Well Act One and the intermission went well.
I am now home and i can only assume the second act is over and everyone is on the way home.
-
And now to bed.
-
I like the burgers at Wendy's and I like Long John Silver's fish and chips.
I guess my favorite right now....well....two.....would be the Baconator and the Whopper.
With an honorable mention for White Castle cheese sliders.

Arthur Treacher's fish 'n chips had been a favorite fast food for a while.
-
Really fun getting-to-page-six work, singdaw!
-
I forgot to mention Skyline Chili earlier. My absolute favorite. Just wish we had one in Texas.
-
The documentary is over. It reminded me of one of my favorite Altman movies, The Company. Neve Campbell was in that. She was an executive producer on Swan Song.
-
The Company was actually better, because Altman let the dances speak for themselves. In this documentary, the scenes from Swan Lake on opening night are snippets. Some are in slow motion, some oddly filmed. It was as if everything they worked so hard to achieve was deemed unimportant or perhaps they didn’t have the rights to show more than a moment or two.
-
Good night, all.
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
Watched the first thirty minutes or so of a movie and the start of another.
-
At the moment, I can't even remember what I watched earlier.
-
I just remembered.
-
Very hot in here.

Page six again.

And again.

Not very sporting.

And yet, here we are.

Must write some notes.

Kamala may be pushing ahead of ther Fat Orange Slug, but Nate Silver says the thing to watch out for is the antiquated - and shouod have been dumped ages ago - Electoral College.
When then-Mayor Pete was running for prez, he said that we should eliminate the electoral college, but not have it actually disband for 10 years. HERE (https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/448510-buttigieg-doubles-down-on-scrapping-electoral-college-its-undemocratic/) is an article where he talks about it:
Pressed by NBC’s Harry Smith on whether Republicans would back scrapping the institution, Buttigieg suggested making the reform years down the road.{mosads}
“So maybe when we make this reform, we set it to take effect in the 2030s, when it’s not clear which party is going to benefit,” he said. “But at the end of the day, I think most Americans, of any party, ought to be able to get on board with the idea that one person, one vote, counting equally, is the fairest way to choose our president.”
