Well, you've read the notes, the notes were air-conditioned, and now it is time for you to post until the air-conditioned cows come home.

And the word of the day is: BENEFICIAL!

George must REALLY be busy.

George never showed up??? Someone check on him.

Topic of the Day: I was never a fan of slasher movies, so I avoided them like the plague. :P
-
Yesterday afternoon, I went to the local Taco Time (https://tacotimenw.com/menu-category/soft-tacos/#menu_wrap) (not Taco Bell), and had one of their Fish Soft Tacos, which is essentially a burrito. I don't know the distinction between their "burritos" and their "soft tacos," but there must be one because they list them separately. Either way, they're all really good...different than Taco Bell or Del Taco (of course), but really pretty good. :)
-
Wow, DR George - I thought you didn't eat fish.
-
What is it - fish?
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
I appear to have been logged in all night.
-
And never said "Good night, friends" last night.
-
How rude.
-
Apologies to all.
-
And others.
-
If others had their druthers.
-
Which they do, apparently.

Who decides these things?

I am installing updates on my work computer.

August is flying by.

-
TOD: I have never watched, nor will I ever watch, a slasher film.

I ended up watching the convention until 11:00. At that point, Biden still had not spoken so I went to bed.

I stuck with MSNBC all evening, and the cats and I had a marvelous time. I really enjoyed the speakers, especially Steve Kerr, Shawn Fain, Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, Jasmine Crockett, and Hillary Clinton.

Well, my odometer turned, I see. I never pay attention to these things.

CONGRATULATIONS to DR elmore3003 on your lofty new perch in the HHW firmament!!!!

In 2017 a husband-and-wife trucking couple were at a truck stop in Laredo, Texas, when they came across a cat begging truckers for food. He was too scared to let anyone near him, but the husband offered him a piece of chicken and was able to grab him before he could run off. They fed him and, realising they couldn’t leave him there, took him on board, not sure what to do with him as they’d never owned a cat before. They wanted to do their best to help him gain weight, and then to find him a new home – but in the process fell in love with him! Grayson, as he was named, has been trucking for some seven years now, and has been to every state in the US except Alaska and Hawaii.
The wife said, "He’s my world, and I’m so glad we were able to help him; he’s been at my side along the road and on all our journeys together."

Congratulations to Larry on your new lucky 70,000-post millstone!

-
Congrats to DR ELMORE on his new millstone.
I loved the Grayson story.
-
I have seen a couple of the Nightmare on Elm Street films....they were scary but I don't think I went past the second one.....maybe part of the third.
-
I actually thought Hillary Clinton gave a very good speech last night.....she seemed much more natural and engaged than she ever did when she was running.
-
Vibes for DR VIXMOM & family.
Ditto!
-
I forgot to mention the end of George Santos yesterday! That was the cherry on top of the sundae. I hope this signifies the twilight of the MAGA Morons in the Rethuglican party.
Fox News Starlet Laura Ingram decided to trash this week's convention by praising "her party's one last month. One of her critics dubbed her KKKKaren. That made me laugh.
-
I think we can move this forward.

I know we can pay this forward.

Good morning, all

Forward being the operative word.

Mega vibes for Vixmom's Mom.
-
Congratulations, Larry, on your posting milestone.

Mom made it through the night. She's a little more responsive, using an arm to answer yes/no questions. She recognizes people. And she isn't in pain.
-
Good news, DR John G.

Good to hear DR JOHN G.

A high of only 73 degrees with NO rain is predicted for here....I'll take it.
My cousin Carol & I are going to lunch today.....she gets to pick the location, so I'm not sure what I will be having.
-
Mom made it through the night. She's a little more responsive, using an arm to answer yes/no questions. She recognizes people. And she isn't in pain.
Good to hear that, John G!
-
TOD:
I don't go in for horror films very much. I highly, thoroughly enjoyed "Alien" (in space no one can hear you scream) and "Aliens".
And "Jurassic Park" likely doesn't qualify as horror, but it was more than enough to make me squirm.
-
I cautiously watched night one of the DNC convention.
I say "cautiously" because I didn't have a clue what to expect, but I wanted to hear some of the speakers.
Happily, it was as engaging as it was uplifting. So much energy and enthusiasm. Nancy Pelosi looked virbrant, didn't she!
Hilary was wonderful, Jesse Jackson was on point, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was electrifying. It was Raphael Warnock, however, who gave the best speech I've heard in many years.
I was getting very sleepy by the time President Biden began, and I didn't last more than 5 minutes into his comments. Of course, by that time, it was a "we love Joe" fest, so I figured I'd call it a night.
-
TOD:
I don't watch much horror or slasher films, but I have enjoyed:
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Dawn of the Dead
Shaun of the Dead
Evil Dead 2
Toxic Avenger
Us
Midsommar
The Shining
Scream
Get Out

Well, the fish in most fish tacos are breaded and crispy. I like fish when they're breaded like fish-and-chips fish. ::)

Encouraging news. I'm relieved she is not in any pain.

Speaking of horror and slashings, I am back from the dentist.
They were happy with the cleaning, I'm happy to have it over with, and a tooth we've been keeping an eye on will be crowned sometime soon.

And George, you captured post 70007, a palindrome - so it should bring extra good luck!
-
Back from a fun breakfast with Robert Yacko - or usual jernt was closed for cleaning, so we ended up at nearby Paty's coffee shop. Had my usual bacon, cheese, and scallion omelet. It was good but I detected no cheese - if it was there it was SUBTLE.
-
Then I went to Macy's - prior to going in, I got news of one modern major miracle, so that was great. Two or three more would be very much appreciated.
-
Didn't find any socks to my liking, so I'm looking on Amazon now.
-
Didn't get to Gelson's yet, so I left the motor car out and I'll go after a little package arrives at the mail place.
-
That way, I take care of two things at once.
-

After tonight, the play blocking will be finished....except for a few actors who need to be caught up - and we start Act run throughs onstage next week.
Set building is this Sunday.

I've heard of blue cheese and Parmesan cheese, but not SUBTLE cheese.

I just learned something new on FB - that the late Jacqueline Susann (whose birthday is today) had been in several Broadway shows before becoming known as a writer.
These were her Broadway credits

Went to a wild interactive art installation yesterday then had dinner on a rooftop. Shopped at a Tower Records here but haven’t bought anything yet.

Sounds like fun DR RODZINSKI!

Yes DR FREDDIE I think she was the character in THE WOMEN (among several small roles) that demonstrated the "zips up the back with no bones" lingerie.....

Starting The Last Tycoon, which was the first Fitzgerald novel I read. This was never a great movie, but it's a fascinating one. Great cast: DeNiro, Moreau, Nicholson, Dana Andrews, Ray Milland, Robert Mitchum, Tony Curtis

We have been watching the limited series suspense thriller on Netflix:
The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window.
The title is a parody of the titles of the thriller books that seem to have been so popular lately.
I'm never good at guessing the twists, so I'm enjoying it. It stars Kristen Bell.
Eight half-hour episodes.

Ingrid Boulting is awful in The Last Tycoon. Of course, she has no part to play, but she really sucks at it.

It’s time for bed.
-
Good night, all.
-
But first …
-
Let’s get off this page …’
-
And on to Patti Page.
-
She’s all the rage.
-
Seven!
-
It has been said by those wiser than myself that I do not care for page seven.
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
Had a sub sandwich for the later meal.
-
From the real sub place, not fast food stuff - Santoro's.
-
Had a couple of telephonic conversations.
-
Still praying for a couple more modern major miracles.
-
Still crazy after all these years.
-
Still waters run deep.
-
In the still of the night.
-
That's a lot of still.
-
Still to spare.

Notes are written and ready to post.
-
They're also ready to post and written.
-
Perhaps George and his jam will join us tonight, or perhaps he'll fall asleep again whilst eating a burrito.
-
I've never personally fallen asleep whilst eating a burrito or anything else.
-
That would be unseemly.
-
Must get off this page.
-
But we're a long way away.
-
An eternity away.
-
But from here to eternity might be a shorter distance than we think.
-
I love the celeste.
-
There, I've said it and I'm glad.
-
And I don't care who knows it.
-
Where in tarnation IS everyone?
-
I could use a macaroon.
-
But I have none.
-
Zero macaroons.
-
Not very sporting.

I don't know, don't ask me.

Next stop - Willoughby.
-
Page eight has entered.
-
Page seven has exited.
-
And twelve minutes to new notes.

Here's a tough trivia question - which musical features music and a man?
-
Which musical features a Birdie leaving?
-
Which musical takes place in Oklahoma?
-
Which musical features Annie and a gun?
-
Which musical is wild and has a cat?
-
Which musical is botanical with a drum?
-
These are really tough trivia questions.
-
I see a George and yet I don't see a George.
-
When is a George not a George?
-
Perhaps he's finishing his burrito.
-
And drinking that last of his Orange Crush.
-
I never liked orange soda.
-
Or orange juice.
-
Orange Julius, on the other hand, I loved.
-
I had a thing for Orange Julius.
-
We had one not far from my house, on Pico and Robertson. I'd get me an Orange Julius and a hot dog with mustard and onions.
-
Maybe I'll have hot dogs for food. Haven't done that in a while.
-
I still see a George but he apparently is waiting for his jam to show up.
-
Meanwhile, I'm giving it the old college try.
-
Perhaps George and his jam will join us tonight, or perhaps he'll fall asleep again whilst eating a burrito.
No burritos today. I had a Chicken Cheesesteak at Red Wagon. Quite delish!
-
I have to be up earlier than I like.
-
You'll read why in the notes.
-
The notes that will be posted in four short minutes.
-
And I was able to capture this unique posting number for BK:
-
;D
-
I mean, three short minutes.
-
That's a fun number.
-
Thanks for capturing it.
-
And page nine has entered just as page eight has exited.
-
I see a George and yet I don't see a George.
I am here. :)
-
The midnight hour approacheth.
-
If you go out on a limb, which limb do you go out on?
-
And drinking that last of his Orange Crush.
I don't have Orange Crush, but I do actually have some Fanta Zero Sugar.
-
I never liked orange soda.
I do.
-
Which musical is funny and features a girl?

I had a thing for Orange Julius.
I've never had a "real" Orange Julius.

My pleasure. :)
