Well, you've read the notes, like strands of hair in an hourglass, so are the days of our lives, and now it is time for you to post until the overstayed cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: KALEIDOSCOPE!
-
Topic of the Day: offen and frajill
Also, lit-er-uh-lee (four syllables), not lit-chrally; and veh-ter-un (three syllables), not vet-chrun

Belated Happy Birthday wishes to the greatly talented JRand. I was going to wish you Happy Birthday on Facebook, but I thought, no I need to do it on HHW. Next thing, I woke up and it was 2am.
-
Thank you DR RODZINSKI and DR VIXMOM for the birthday greetings.
I enjoyed reading about DR VIXMOM's gadding about over the weekend.
-
Back to Act Two tonight.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept quite miserably last night. I doubt I got more than four hours of sleep. Just after I dozed off, around 10:00, I had a frightening dream that I was falling backward; it was quite terrifying, and of course I woke to find I had not fallen at all. That was the beginning to a very restless night.
-
Annabelle and Thatch stayed with me all night. Annabelle slept very soundly, and Thatch preferred to play. I later dreamed some nonsense about being in an office building where I could hear a baby crying, but there was no baby, only a sense of foreboding. Then, just before the alarm rang, I dreamed I was warming up to play "Slaughter on Tenth Avenue" at a piano, even as I kept protesting that I hadn't played piano in thirty years..
-
In the dream I was playing the piece better than I ever did 30-60 years ago.
-
Joshie is arriving today between 10 and 11, so I have to finish kitty cleanup and making the bed by then. I also need to schedule an Access-a-Ride for tomorrow to the Lincoln Center post office. I cannot go to my local one because there are stairs from the sidewalk level to their lobby. Also, the service is better at Lincoln Center.
-
Welcome back, DR Rodzinski!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Another day of cleanup.

I used to pronounce the "u" in buried. I dunno why. I now say "barry'd"

I agree with all these except I say off ten

The cast recording of The Wizard revival came in to the library. I wonder why they revived the show if they didn't like the score. Only a handful of numbers sound like their original counterparts. And Harold Wheeler's great orchestrations have not been reduced with flair.
-
That was one HELL of a night, DR Elmore.
-
Topic of the Day: offen and frajill

At Christmas, it's pronounced frah-jee-lay.

Onward!

-
I must go to Costco for cat litter today.
-
I must also work on some music.
And organize some stuff to be stored in a closet.
-
Movie tonight!
I mustn't forget to go to that!
-
vixmom, it was lots of fun reading about your weekend!
-
Welcome home, Rodzinski and family!
-
Jrand, what an interesting theedur story about Petula Clark and the carpet!
-
In the dream I was playing the piece better than I ever did 30-60 years ago.
In dreams like that one, I can either play the piece better than I ever did 30-60 years ago, or I find I can't play it at all.
-
Jrand, I may have seen that guy in your new avatar in DIAL M FOR MURDER at some point.
Or maybe I imagined seeing him in that?
-
I now say "barry'd"
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
DR vixmom, enjoyed reading about your REAL adventures.
-
And the word of the day is: KALEIDOSCOPE!
Does anyone else think of "But Alive!" and Margo Channing's "Kaleidoscope of feelings" when the word kaleidoscope comes up?
Does anyone know the lyrics to the song "But Alive!" anywhere but here on HHW and in the Facebook cast recording groups?
-
I still don't know where you get all that energy.
Glad to hear that your mother is doing better.
-

Peaches!
-
Vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
Thanks DR FREDDIE it was most entertaining and Ms. Clark was great in the part.
-
I want pots de crème. Now.
-
I love Costco. I had ordered two cases of medical stuff for Mom that arrived only a day or two before she died. They took both boxes back, no questions asked, and refunded the credit card used. All in less than two minutes.

That's great consideration for customers.

Thank you DR KEVIN H.

Cousins lunch was great....there were 12 of us there.
My aunt did not come.....I guess we need to have a cousin's breakfast so we can get her before the whiskey starts flowing.....if I should say such a thing.
-
Mother's milk to her, eh, DR Jrand74? 8)
-
Whatever time it is, it's after 5:00 somewhere. I don't think they specify 5:00 AM or PM.

DR John we discussed The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store by James McBride. None of us liked the book.

DR John vibes you get all the furniture out by the 31st!
-
DR Vixmom, good news about your mother.
-
Vixmom, I also enjoyed reading about your day in the city.
-
And reading the about the remainder of your activities over the weekend.
-
Joshie picked up the overture, dropped off "Some People," and we visited, all in about 30 minutes. He can never stay long because of allergies to cats. We did discuss the Finale megillah; he thinks he will need to learn Dorico rather than Sibelius. We both lamented all the scores copied in the past 40 years - including Babes in Toyland, the Kern and Herbert scores for Packard Humanities Institute, and the shows I recorded for New World Records.

They are good that way. I hope the line was also short. Sometimes it can be rather long, especially during and after the holidays.

Sounds like a plan. Would brunch be too late?

One of my favorites last year.
You should have been at the discussion.
-
It looks like I’m coming to New York in November. Got tickets for King Lear.
-
Probably DR JANE.
Indeed it is so DR CHAS SMITH.
-
I shall now be on my way to watch Act Two again....maybe one of the errant actors will be present.
One new actress asked to be excused because this is the first anniversary of her father's murder and she wants to be with her family.
This is a new one on me and I acquiesced.
I also put it in my repertoire and suggest to my theeder friends that they do the same.
-
Welcome back, DR Rodzinski!
Thank you, glad to be home!

Having difficulty readjusting to my home time zone.
Tokyo Rodz a bit wilted?
-
Went to the mail place and picked up the one other package they forgot to give me - more necessities.
-
Had hot dogs for lunch.
-
Then I ordered a slice of coconut fudge cheese cake. It arrived, I opened it and it was so top heavy that it turned and dumped everything on the kitchen floor.
-
If you know me at all, I think you can imagine my reaction. I spooned what wasn't actually ON the floor back into the container and ate some of that but when it's all mushed together like that, it's kind of nauseating.
-
Doing some catch up work.
-
Why not?
-
It must be done.
-
And I'm doing it.
-
Who else would do it?
-
And it got us to Page Four!
-

That explains what I heard while driving home from my errands.

I would say this is a very good reason for someone to ask to be excused :(

Probably DR JANE.
A shame. I hope your aunt is happy.

Sorry about your pie, BK.

Just remember: the cheese stands alone.
-
And that's what comes from men and women dancing.
-
Long day today.
-
All the drawers have been emptied.
-
But not everything had been boxed or bagged.
-
That is a good start. Who else is helping you accomplish the task of cleaning out everything?
-
My sisters keep pushing things on me.
-
My sister Linda is in town for the long haul. My sister Annaliese is going back and forth between Lexington and Louisville.
-
Hopefully we can get the clothes done tomorrow. And more furniture out of the way.
-
I am stunned and regretful about MR BK's dessert tragedy.
-
We had even fewer people there tonight than last night.
Maybe it's the heat.
-
Partly.
-
My sister Linda is in town for the long haul. My sister Annaliese is going back and forth between Lexington and Louisville.
Are you and Linda staying at the same hotel? It is nice you are all working as a team.

DR vixmom, enjoyed reading about your REAL adventures.
I was much more productive in yours!

I’m seeing King Lear in November too! A gift from Vixdad
-
I have to double check the date

That’s great, I am so glad they were accommodating
-
I think I am top-heavy.
-
No one had better turn me out of a box.
-
I think I am top-heavy.
I am definitely bottom heavy
-
I guess that means I’m less likely to topple over
-
There’s always a silver lining
-
Tonight instead of going to visit WFO I ran some errands for my mom
-
On my way home I stopped at BJs to fill up my very empty gas tank
-
$51.00 filled my tank
-
At $2.93 a gallon

Thanks, DR John G. Continued hugs.
-
I found a great recipe for banana bread.
-
What a wonderful obituary. Wish I'd have known her.
-
$51.00 filled my tank
Filled mine at BJ's, too, but ours was $3.05!
My tank only took $38 worth, so there's that.
-
Good night, friends.

VIVA LAS VEGAS was surprisingly fun, and eye-popping beautiful on that screen. Good audience, too. An enjoyable evening.

A glorious life.
This was very touching: "And she treated her son John’s cockatoo, J.B., like a grandchild."

Joshie sounds like a smart guy. Fortunately MakeMusic announced today that authorizations will continue "for the forseeable future," and Dorico crossgrades now come with a Finale 27 upgrade if you need it.
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
Shall now do some listening.
-
Always - listening after viewing.
-
The other way around just isn't done.
-
I have a couple of new classical composers to listen to.
-
What is this page six malarkey?
-
Not very sporting.
-
Having some popcorn now.
-
It's a nice snack.
-
A Nice Snack - that's the title of my next novel.
-
All right, time to listen, but first I must grab the pieces onto the computer.
-
And then I remembered something that I had to watch, so it was back to the TV and more viewing. Now, I'm listening to another super interesting Japanese symphony circa 1921.
-
And not a single post in the last two hours.
-
Except for mine.
-
Where in tarnation IS everyone?
-
Well, I'll write some notes.
-
A Very Happy (but slightly belated ::) ) Birthday to DR Jrand! :D

I'm pretty sure and fairly certain that I do not care for page seven.
-
And yet, here we are, stuck in the muck of page seven.
-
But at least we're off page six.
-
At least George is semi-here.
-
I'm fully here.
-
Still.
-
George is eating a burrito, no doubt.
-
I have not eaten a burrito.
-
And i have no intention of eating a burrito.
-
Why the HELL should I eat a burrito?
-
And yet, George is just sitting there like so much fish, twiddling his thumbs.

I wonder if you can twiddle just one thumb?

Well, guess I'll change the topic. Hold tight.

George is eating a burrito, no doubt.
Today, I went to my mom's and helped my niece cut some vines and raspberry plants, and then my mom fed us some spaghetti and garlic bread.

I was resizing some photos that I'll post at the beginning of tomorrow.
