Well, you've read the notes, the notes were in praise of Blake, and now it is time for you to post until the comedy cows come home.

And the word of the day is: BALANCE!

That's an area rug, not tile or vinyl. We'll see how well/long it lasts.

Nice work DR GEORGE.
-
Thanks to DR JOHN G for the link.
-
I am beginning to feel like MR BK while he was directing 70 GIRLS 70.....
I shall not bore you with the details.....but nobody seems interested in doing this show or cares whether it happens or not.
I can't do it by myself and I am tired of the apathy of half the cast AND the backstage crew.
I am not sure now what the outcome will be - but I'm ready to quit....which of course, I can't do.
-
So we shall see what happens with Act One tonight.
We are officially missing ONE actress and her son......OFFICIALLY.
-
And there's a damned cricket somewhere in the bathroom.

John that is a beautiful obituary. Despite her many hardships in her youth, it seems she had a very fulfilling life of joy and cheerful service. Sending you hugs.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept very well until 4:00 or so. I had been awake for some time, playing with Thatch, and I needed a bathroom break. After that I nodded and dozed. Around 5:30, Annabelle lkeft her princess pillow next to me to cuddle with me until the alarm rang.
-
This morning, Access-a-Ride will take me to the Lincoln Center post office to ship some packages I've been too poor to ship over the past three months. When I get home, I will dive into "Some People." We are doing all of Rose's songs first so keys for Audra can be determined.

Good morning, all.

I DVR'ed the Blake Edwards thing and will probably watch it tonight.

Yes, as DR MichaelG pointed out, Finale has had a reprieve; my email arrived last night around 7:00.

Thanks for all the nice comments on the obit. It’s long, but then again, she lived 97 years.

DR John G, that was a wonderful obituary! Your mother was amazing.

Yes, I saw the Finale reprieve just as I got to the movie theeder last night.

The Lincoln Center post office is much better than the one for 10024, but it has its own problems. I worked at an automated kiosk, which alerted me that every address I entered, including mine, was invalid. Still, it printed out the labels correctly and took my payments. I'm glad to be home.

DR John that is an exceptional obituary and I too would have liked to met your mother. You are much like her so in a way I did.

Wednesday afternoon greetings! We returned home last evening, exhausted. Our trip was a couple of hours longer than usual because we had an extended lunch stop in Ann Arbor with a couple of my friends from college. One I see fairly frequently, but the other I hadn’t seen in 30 years. We picked up right where we left off.
-
Our only commitment today was a previously scheduled tour of our community’s assisted living/skilled nursing facilities. They’re very nice, but I’m in no hurry to need them.

I'm a bit tired. There is a package at the mail place but it can wait until tomorrow. More Caress soap.

I had to guffaw when BK related the tale of the cheesecake on the floor. Not so much at his chagrin as at the memory of a "Friends" episode:

It has been a very nondescript day here in Johnston SC in the CSRA.
I cannot fathom why. I was up early, watched the Joe-and-Mika-and-Willie-less "Morning Joe" (hosted by British Katty Kay and American Jonathan Lemire), had coffee, got mail, filled up my car with gasoline ($3.01/gallon), bought my lunch at (Don't-Be-a-Square-Eat-at-)The Triangle where the bill-of-fare was pork chops. Yum.
I have a lab appointment in the morning at the VA, preparatory to next week's quarterly checkup. While in Aiken, I do believe I shall grace Sam's Club with my patronage.

It is nothing but hot, Hot, HOT here this week.
We have not yet reached our high which should top out at 105.
Currently, though, it's 95.
-
One of the major uglies involved in our increasingly hot weather is the proliferation of GNATS.
They are everywhere, get into everything, and irritate everyone.
I cannot guess how many I have ingested simply by talking, eating or breathing.
-
GNATS redux:
I have several saucers around the house filled with vinegar and dish soap. This attracts them and they drown in it.
I have many teeny corpses floating in them as i type.
-
I, too, watched the Blake Edwards special on PBS.
It was a lovely tribute to a genius.
I had forgotten how absolutely lovely Julie Andrews was in earlier years.

We went out to dinner tonight with friends so I could test the trial hearing aids and compare them to my current pair.

DR Jane, I had dinner out with a friend recently who had hearing aids. I was amazed at how she could adjust the settings from her phone to suit the situation, including the "soundstage" by angle.

Maybe that's standard now, but I wasn't aware of the capabilities.

You are running a marathon, DR John G.

As you get older, you'll still do stupid stuff.
Just slower.

What am I doing, a monologue?

Perhaps DR Jrand74 would be better off doing FfA as a dramatic solo monologue.

I just watched the Blake Edwards documentary and enjoyed it very much. As always with these things, you wish they'd covered more of this, that, or the other thing, but I liked what was there and learned some stuff. I also need to see some of the movies again now.

DR ChasSmith, there is a Udemy Dorico course on sale for a short time for $10.

Interesting about the soundstage by angle. I wonder what she is wearing. These new one automatically adjust, and I do find that an improvement. Unless the audiologist feels he can make an adustment that will improve these I don't find the price of them to be worth it. Maybe if insurance covered them I would feel differently.

We also watched the Blake Edwards documentary this evening. I concur with DR ChasSmith's assessment.

I do not know. They probably explained it Monday morning at 6 a.m., but I don't watch that early.

Oh, and here's the latest addition to my kitchen:
-
My sister called it either a sideboard or a buffet (I can never remember which) and she gave it to me years ago.
-
I've had it at the side of my front room for years, but my friend Shelly said that it would work well in the kitchen.
-
It does need to be emptied of everything so that it can have kitchen stuff on it instead of a whole shelf of nothing but snackybits. ::)

Eventually, shelves will go over it, but not until the wall is patched up.
