Well, you've read the notes, the notes did remember the kind of September, and now it is time for you to post until the September cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PINNACLE!
-
George, can you upload your photo? I need to know exactly what happened and right now.
-
He's checking it.
-
George pointed out an issue then, before I could even mention it to our host, he disappears completely - however, it's fixed now, not that he's here to see that.

It didn't take too long for it to be fixed. Whew!
-
I wanted to ketchup on all of yesterday's posts, and that's when I noticed that the photo issue was fixed.
-
Today, I'm going to my sister's to help her set up a catio for her cats. It's a patio that will attach to one of the windows on the back of her house (at least, that's where she's putting it), and then she can open the window and let the cats out onto the catio to have more area to explore and see the back yard better, yet still be enclosed and protected. I'll take a picture when it's done. :)
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept rather well, so that's all to the good. I had a long dream that I was working on a show at Goodspeed and they were in rehearsal for Titanic. Judy Kaye was playing a Russian immigrant, and the cast was full of people I'd worked with from community theatre in the 1970s to Broadway.
-
DR John G, I'm happy you survived the day.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Need to pack up soon.
-
Packing and travel vibes for DR JOHN G.
-
Another envelope vibes for MR BK.
-
Congrats to MR BK on his new millstone.
-
Today I have to attend a meeting of the bored.
I have yet to receive a financial report OR an agenda.
I imagine those will be emailed about 15 minutes before the meeting starts when I will be in the car driving to it....
-
I will keep checking until I leave.....just in case.
-
I have created a blueprint for each act of FLOWERS.....made copies on card stock for the stage managers....and I will post them to the Facebook group.
The actors can print them out and write costume notes or anything else helpful to them on papers......
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
CONGRATULATIONS to BK on your lofty new perch in the HHW firmament!!!
-
~~~SAFE & EASY TRAVEL VIBES~~~ for DR John G.!!!!!!
What WILL they think of next?
The DH is feeling better, and so far I am still asymptomatic.
It's kind of a miracle.
No stars and two bleccchs.
A ringing endorsement.
Sounds like a heck of the way to do this.
Is it just procrastination on their part to get it out so close to the meeting time?
Or maybe, do they do this intentionally so as not to give other members of the board time to really look at the numbers before the meeting?
-
The DH is feeling better, and so far I am still asymptomatic.
Very good news, singdaw!
A catio sounds like a wonderful idea!
I've been listening to The Spitfire Grill, which I have never heard before today. It's really quite beautiful. I've known James Valcq, the composer, for years, and he's really talented. I didn't realizes book-lyrics writer project had died only weeks before the show opened at Playwrights Horizons in 2001, weeks after 911. I now know why the locale was moved to Wisconsin, thanks to this articlew.
Good morning, all.
Thank you, DR George!
This day is already flying by like a gazelle performing "See You in September."
Got it!
DR ChasSmith - do your rental materials contain "Shine"? Is it out of the show now?
-
It's in the PC score I was given by them.
EDIT: But I'm flipping through DR George's copy, which is differently laid out, and it's not in that one. It's song #20, and it DOES appear in the parts from DR George, just not in that copy of the PC score.
National "Burnt Ends" Day, eh?
Boggles the imagination. Hot seat? Sat on a grill? Lay out too long in the sun, nude?
-
A gracious good Sunday morning to all.
Am very happy it is the Oneth of September.
It means this long, hot summer is nearly at an end, although Indian summer may yet loom ahead.
ANYTHING can happen, weatherwise, in the south in September and October.
-
I shall be going to Third Generation for my lunch today.
It's my usual routine on Sunday. They make the best fried chicken available locally, and there are many fried chickent places, locally, so that is saying something, I think.
-
I have been intrigued by the recent mention of DR JohnG's mother's cookie recipe and cookbook.
Would someone elaborate on what the cookbook is called?
-
According to the obituary DR John G. posted, it's called Cookies and Cakes You’ll Love.
-
I've been unable to locate a copy.
-
National "Burnt Ends" Day, eh?
I think it's more like beef tips, well done.
-
But I could be wrong.
-
September morn!
-
Your suggestions are certainly more enticing.
-
We danced until the night became a brand new day.
-
September mornings still can make me feel that way.
Not that I listen to the radio much, but you don’t hear Neil Diamond’s late ‘70s-early ‘80s ballads as much anymore.
It’s almost as if yesterday’s songs don’t stay around long, not much anymore.
I can’t recommend enough Richard Fleischer’s memoir “Just Tell Me When To Cry” if you’re lucky enough to find a copy.
"You Don't Sing Neil Diamond Anymore" could, if one were in a parody frame of mind, be sung to "You Don't Bring Me Flowers"
Not that I would do, or ever think of doing, that.
Learn the insecurities of Neil Diamond and Laurence Olivier on the set of The Jazz Singer.
Learn the story behind the casting of Dr Doolittle and the unhinged insanity of Rex Harrison.
Learn what a high-maintenance guy Kirk Douglas was.
-
DR Rodzinski - there are a lot of letters to the editor in the latest issue of Fanfare magazine lamenting how much the quality of popular music has degraded in the past 50 years.
Yikes, my post was really grammatically bad. I went back and fixed the grammar.
But I'm writing a post about fixing it, to do my part to help the posting total.
I have a game where you go to YouTube and go to any video of a song from any era except today and count how many posts until someone inevitably says “This is when music was great, not the crap we have today.” (Or some variation)
People have probably been complaining about it since ancient times. “These damn wandering minstrels have replaced the purity of grunting in our caves!”
The period where Lady Gaga and Adele were having hit single after hit single felt like a pretty golden period to me, and that was just a little over a decade ago.
Meghan Trainor could be counted on for smart lyrics in that period.
What ARE those 110 Guests who are viewing this board reading?
Page Four before noon Eastern time might suggest a pretty darn good HHW posting day ahead.
Or it might not.
-
We had two home with screened in patios. The cats loved those.
-
The second home was in Conneticut.
-
The patio had a nice Dutch door and we would leave the top half open during the day when we were home.
-
The yard had a little creek running through it. As you can imagine, the cats loved when ducks were in the creek.
Need to pack up soon.
Safe and easy travels home.
Well, it's mostly assembled:
-
Here's from a slightly different angle:
-
It doesn't come with a floor or a base to lift it off the ground, so she's going to have her handyman and his assistant finish it.
-
I don't know how to do that. ::)
Thanks, Freddie. It'll be great when it's all done.
Will it be raised to the bottom of the windows?
There are corregated plastic panels for the roof but we didn't put them on yet. We figured that it would help to not have the extra weight until it has a base and is ready to be attached to the house.
Yes, my sister's handyman will do that since it's not part of the catio kit at all.
This actually made me laugh out loud!
-
It has been a quiet day here.
-
Nothing of interest to report.
-
But the holiday awaits.
-
Perhaps I'll do laundry tomorrow.
-
That should liven things up.
-
I went to the supermarket, but I couldn't find the pineapples.
-
'night
-
Good night, friends.
-
And others.
-
Watched the second half of a movie, having slept through the first half - but I've seen it many times.
-
Page six isn't bad at this time of the early evening.
-
At least in LA it's early evening.
-
The shank of the evening.
-
If I was watching Jaws it would be the shark of the evening.
-
But I'm not watching Jaws.
-
I do not care for page seven.
-
We'll get past it, I'm quite sure.
-
At some point.
-
Of course, I seem to be the only one here at the moment.
-
Had Wacky Noodles for food.
-
A very good batch.
I went to the supermarket, but I couldn't find the pineapples.
Wow! :o
-
The shank of the evening.
Looking back on this evening, it could be shanks for the memory.
-
I went to the supermarket, but I couldn't find the pineapples.
Yes, they have no pineapples?
-
Perhaps I'll do laundry tomorrow.
That should make you feel awash in the holiday spirit.
-
But I'm not watching Jaws.
Jews Watching Jaws - that could be the title of something.
-
Things Are Not Being Done to my satisfaction
-
I will need to commence very early tomorrow
-
Always looking for a thriller, bad or good, found one, watched ten minutes before I realized I'd already seen it - I think I've seen EVERY bad thriller.
-
So, watched the first fifteen minutes of a documentary called Kubrick on Kubrick, mostly comprised of a long audio interview with author Michel Ciment.
-
Now I'm making tuna pasta salad for tomorrow and Tuesday's meal.
-
Who is to say nay?
-
The shank of the evening.
Looking back on this evening, it could be shanks for the memory.
;D
-
And now, since we're so darned close, let's post the ubiquitous...
-
Gratuitous Post #200!! :D
-
;)
-
Nay.
-
A sayer has nayed.
-
How can we still be on this dreaded page?
-
Oh, I see - George was here at 11:15 and then disappeared.
-
And hasn't returned.
-
Probably eating a burrito.
-
I made tuna pasta salad for today's meals.
-
And I don't care who knows it.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
Great!
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
Send me my book when you’re able, please.
-
They have paragraphs and sentences, not necessarily in that order.
-
All systems go to receive your work.
-
Oh, you're back, right. I'll have her send it out on Tuesday.
-
Can you PM me your address so I don't have to hunt it down?
-
Page eight has made itself known.
-
And George is still not with us.
-
Perhaps he fell asleep.
-
PM yes.
-
One wonders.
-
George is trapped in a catio.
-
Two also wonders, but not as much as one.
-
George ain't here.
-
There is no disputing that factoid.
-
It cannot be disputed.
-
I need to learn when I've had enough popcorn. I always finish it but I'm really done after about half.
-
I just hate to waste.
-
But not to waste is not good for the waist.
-
If you get my meaning.
-
Got the PM.
-
The PM got me.
-
Well, perhaps I should change the topic.
-
Since George is apparently not showing up.
-
Where he go?
-
Apparently there was a score for the Court Jester that was unused.
