Well, you've read the notes, the notes visited with Levi, and now it is time for you to post until the Levis-wearing cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: GOOGOL!
-
Interesting word.
-
Never heard it.
-
Never ever.
-
Ever never.
-
Is it really the weekend?
-
Seriously?
-
Where did the week go.
-
Where have all the flowers gone?
-
Gone are the days.
-
Gone with the wind.
-
Gone Girl.
-
Gone fishing.
-
Notes levied. Taxed.
-
Enjoying Directed By very much, yes.

Topic of the Day: I remember seeing the Levi video and thoroughly enjoyed it. :)
-
Congratulations to Rodzinski on your brand new posting millstone!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept quite well last night. It's so rare, but I really appreciate it when it happens. I dreamed about a friend I haven't seen since I moved to NYC in 1979, and I have no idea where he is now. We last spoke to each other around 1990 when I called him at work to tell him I'd be coming back to Ohio for a week. We set a date to meet up and meet his new wife, the lady he was carrying on with behind his first wife's back. He would be around 76 if he's still alive. I can only hope he is and that he's healthy and comfortable.
-
Today I must work on "Have an Egg Roll, Mr Goldstone." I'd like to have it finished by Monday, but Joshie tells me it's a problematic score. Originally, "Little Lamb" was in the middle of it.
-
DR slingshot, I'm sorry to hear you have Covid again. What's going on in Minneapolis?
-
I watched Levi on YouTube. I liked it, but I must say sadly that I remember absolutely nothing about it now beyond the fact that I liked Marc Ginsburg well enough to send him a Facebook frienmd request and tell him how good he was. I enjoyed reading about the show in Directed By.
-
Tis another Saturday and it's the 7th day of September. How is this possible??
One thing is certain: It feels more like the approach of fall than any day in recent memory.
-
I had a very nice lunch yesterday with my cousin Debra. The place was packed, as usual, and the food was most delicious. Not bad for a small town in this part of the state.
I have to say this, though: The South has excellent cooks. I am guessing that is why so many of us southerners are a bit on the "overweight" side.
-
Good morning, all.
-
TOD
I watched Levi as soon as you posted it - I guess it was on YouTube - and while I remember some images and moments of it (it seemed to be very professionally done), I’ve always wanted to get more familiar with it.
-
Good morning, friends.

DR elmore3003 - thank you. Not much is going on here. I work from home and almost never go out, so much of the world just passes me by.
-
I would like to retire and spend my days reading and listening to music and perhaps learning notation in Dorico.
-
I was able to see Levi on the YouTube. I would like to see it again
-
It hurts to cough.
Would cough drops help?
-
Seeing it live wud be even better.

Sending vibes that she's OK.

I loved Levi and agree that Marc Ginsburg was terrific in the title role. I was lucky to see it in person (twice).
-
I saw Levi on YouTube. I did not know there was a Blu and Ray version.
-
Heading out in a few.

Congratulations, Rodzinski.

Grindhouse has released a massive set of the spaghetti western The Big Gundown with Lee Van Cleef. There’s the slashed US version, the original US version, the Italian release and a CD with the soundtrack from Ennio Morricone.
I don’t plan on watching all three versions.

Watching the affable John Payne go hard boiled in Kansas City Confidential. It’s a pretty nifty noir, but I keep expecting Sonja Henie to skate in from somewhere or little Natalie Wood to appear with Santa.

I have started writing cards to the folks who sent sympathy cards. Not fun.

And I have a peach-blueberry crumble pie in the oven. The crust isn’t right.

But I don’t care.
-
I have started writing cards to the folks who sent sympathy cards. Not fun.
It is emotionally a difficult task, and very time consuming. Are you sharing the task with your family or only responding to the ones you personally received?
-
I never knew what my sister did with cards that might have been sent. When I asked her for his phone book to call his friends she told me it was covered. Later I found out that she never called them.
-
But I don’t care.
Good. Enjoy it as it is.
-
Today I asked my son if he has a classroom panic button :'(
-
I am so far responding to the ones I personally have received. We will divvy up the ones who came to the visitation or the service. There are a few thst each of us will write, people who went the extra mile for Mom.
-
It is nice that you can share the task.
-

Thanks, DR Freddie! John Hinchey has been a long-time supporter and it's been great to meet him several times over the years at NAMM shows.

Been watching a concert film of Neil Diamond in Australia back in 1975. Lot of fun.

Hello!

Heard from the Florida Vixfamily
-
They are driving up to visit us in October and will have Vixson baptized while they are here.
We will also all be attending a celebration of life for Vixhubbys mother the day before thd baptism

I suppose that should have been 2 posts

Sounds nice, Vixmom.

I may have, once.

But not now.
-
Let’s see if ol’ Rodz can pick up the ball here and run with it….
-
Ginny’s Wolverines got fairly well demolished today.
-
But all people will remember is Notre Dame losing to Northern Illinois.
-
For you non-college-football fans, that’d be like if West Side Story lost to a play my kids put on in their closet with their stuffed animals.
-
In other news…
-
One day you hear of something for the first time ever, next day you randomly hear about it again…
-
In Directed By, BK mentions acting in a show called Jimmy Shine in his early days.
-
Read that yesterday.
-
Unrelated, I was reading about the Lovin Spoonful today, and turns out John Sebastian wrote the songs for Jimmy Shine.
-
Go know, as they say.
-
I was watching a clip of Sebastian singing at Woodstock. Impromptu set, he was there and got asked to perform when it rained and they needed someone to do an acoustic set till they could dry the stage.
-
He does well though definitely seems in a chemical state of being.
-
Unmitigated post #170
-
I have to fly to Chicago on Tuesday for a work function.
-
The Cremation Association of North America convention.
-
File under: Things I probably never envisioned for myself.
-
But I’ll get to see the eldest of my four sisters who will pick me up at the airport, so that’s cool.
-
Unlike most at the convention, I’m not selling anything, I’m just looking for stories, things to write about, so it’s not a bad deal for me. Meet interesting folks, what have you.
-
And that’s all the news that’s fit to sing.
-
As Phil Ochs would say.
-
And he ain’t a-marchin’ anymore.
-
With that, we close this page.
-
And with this, we start a new page.
-
A page named after the number 7.
-
An unloved page in some quarters.
-
But a page nonetheless, and one that would like you to know it does its best.
-
To be a page that can make us all proud.
-
Despite the slings and arrows cast in its direction by those with slings and/or arrows.
-
So, I found my copy of Jule: The Story of Composer Jule Styne. It seems he got kicked out of the rehearsals for the Angela Lansbury Gypsy because he heard too msny wrong notes.

That's great! Will you be able to spend much time together?
-
So, today I worked concessions for "Latina K Presents Azucar: A Latine Cabaret Experience."
-
I had no idea what to expect other than it was probably going to be fun evening.
-
Probably just the car ride and breakfast.
-
I assumed ::) that it might be a concert of Latin music.
-
Probably just the car ride and breakfast.
Ah. Hope it's a good breakfast! ;)
-
Anyway, I was totally wrong about the event!
-
Gratuitous Post #200!!
-
It was an evening of Latin-A (not Latin-X)/BIPOC burlesque performers!
-
STRIPPERS!
-
And they were very "body positive," meaning all sizes of performers performed.
-
The hostess has been doing this for over 14 years and most of the performers had been stripping for at least several years, also.
-
The audience had over 50 people, probably closer to 60.
-
They performed in the Black Box at South Puget Sound Community College, for which the Washington Center manages the non-school related events and supplies the volunteers.
-
Which is why I was able to sign up to volunteer.
-
The audience really seemed to love it.
-
Another burlesque group, TUSH! Burlesque, has been performing in Olympia for many years.
-
PAGE EIGHT TUSH! BURLESQUE DANCE!!
-
I hope that this doesn't offend anyone. ::)
-
It was a fun evening and my friend Vanessa is also one of the strippers, so I got to chat with her for a bit, so that was fun.
-
Before that, I had dinner with some high school friends who are reconnecting after the reunion last month.
-
I am only offended by offensive things that are offensive.
-
There's been some good posting going on.
-
I missed page seven completely and that's a good thing.
-
A couple (there were four of us tonight) have stayed friends over the years, but I haven't seen them since high school, although I did chat with one at the reunion, two of them didn't go.
-
A very good thing.
-
For I do not care for page seven.
-
I missed page seven completely and that's a good thing.
Whew! :D
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
They're on the short side.
-
It happens sometimes.
-
Sometimes they're on the long side.
-
But these are on the short side.
-
Sometimes they're just on the side.
-
I'll have a side of notes, please.
-
Well, hold tight whilst I change the topic.
-
If you hold tight will tight hold you in return?
-
One can only hope. ;)
