Well, you've read the notes, the notes knew their stuff, and now it is time for you to post until the choreographed cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: DEVOTION!
-
I think we should all get up and dance to some classic B'way numbers.
-
I just did.
-
It was exhilarating and pathetic at the same time.
-
Perhaps I'll tell the tale of The Randy Vicar and the Telephone Pole.
-
It's a corker.
-
I will shower before bed.
-
That is a given.
-
Was David Niven a given?
-
Was Jeremy Piven a given?
-
If you have a live in is it a given.
-
Notes steamed. Heated.
-
I just found out that rehearsals for An Inspector Calls, (https://dukesbay.org/shows/) for which I'll be stage managing, starts rehearsals on Tuesday! I got the schedule (no Friday rehearsals until tech week! ;D ), but not a cast list. ::)

One never really hears about Jeremy Piven anymore.

Good morning, friends.

Slept decently. Still coughing up crap.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I got to bed around 11:00 last night, slept well until around 4:30. By 5:30 I decided I was tired of lying about, so I played with the cats, and got dress just before 6:00. I don't feel the least bit sleepy.
-
I'm thinking about giving the apartment a thorough vacuuming today. I was going to do the laundry, but I think I will wait until tomorrow or Tuesday, in case I need Jen's help making the bed. She, Ann, and the adorable Oscar are in Boston this weekend.
-
I also need to email Doug and thank him for sending last night the complete ballet score with further corrections.

A ringing endorsement:

-
Who decides these things?
-
In November 1998, Herb Ross directed the benefit concert of Cole Porter and Moss Hart's Jubilee. Danny Daniels did the choreography. I looked forward to working with them because Herb Ross was a fantasticgrapher, and Danny Daniels' clog dance from Walking Happy is opne of my favorites.
Well, Danny Daniels was a complete delight, but Herb Ross was an arrogant, unfriendly queen. He's dead? Good.

I agree!

I always have to think a moment before I try to draw one freehand, though.

Why isn't milopita 1,000 pitas?
-
I mean, I'd love to have pitas OR a Greek cinnamon apple cake.
-
But many pitas would also be nice.

;)
-
I'll admit to having more than a giggle or two over DR Rodzinski's apt simile last night.

Potentially there could be a whole cottage industry using musical theater references to explain sports to the uninitiated.

The observation deck on the roof of 2 World Trade Center (the south tower).

Good morning, all.
-
Back to auditions this afternoon. Today and tomorrow are for Jesus Christ Superstar.
-
Last night I turned the TV on to see if there were any good movies I could enjoy watching and falling asleep to. I'm very particular about that, not just any type will do. TCM had Arthur, which I have only ever seen once, and that would have filled the bill but it was just ending. Cabaret was next. I'd given it a good watching recently enough that it would not have been interesting, so I flipped to the next channel which was finishing up Chinatown and The Two Jakes was to follow. Perfect. I have more of an interest in Jakes than many do and I'm due for properly watching it again, but this would do. I did eventually drop off, but I was loving some of the noirish visuals and dialogue and voiceovers. It doesn't hold a candle to Chinatown, but I'm glad it exists.

I've never seen it; I just remember the MAD Magazine parody of how boring it supposedly was.

I bought a copy from BK a few years ago. It sits in my to-watch pile, which is huge.

DR FREDDIE we had a total of 16 customers for us in the four hours we were there.
Of course there were many other customers in the store for other reasons.
Not exactly crowded - not pandemonium.

Yes kind of sad about the Notre Dame game.....

DR RODZINSKI you can remind the owners that if a community theeder in their area is doing FLOWERS FOR ALGERNON they can offer their coffin transport to use as the hospital bed.

I packed up a crate of books yesterday to donate. Now if I do that every day for a month, I might make some headway.

In summer 1998, I orchestrated a terrible production of Redhead at Goodspeed. The book's mess, and the director and choreographer did nothing to fix it. Bob Fosse clearly was more concerned in creating a vehicle for Gwen Verdon than fixing it in 1958. I cannot listen to her opn the recording because her inept attempts at a Brit accent irritate me.
To my lunatic mother's credit, because we were poor white trash, she knew I loved muscal theatre, so she always looked in bargain bin in drug stores and groceries for inexpensive show albums. Two of my earliest albums were Hill Bowen's British recordings of Redhead and The Music Man on RCA Camden. I justr got on eBay, the CD of Bowen's Redhead, coupled with the 1959 Mexican cast recording. So, I listened to that along wioth the OBC recording. The score is better than I remembered, and the Russell Bennett-Phil Lang orchestrations are quite wonderful.

Hi everyone! Today on the Broadway Radio Show we are looking the history of Broadway's Winter Garden Theatre, which is currently home to Back to the Future, the Musical, but we're going to go way back in time to look at the musicals that have played there since it's opening in 1911!

Please, DRs, I need your serious help with vibes, p[rayers, good wishes, whatever: It took me an hour to vacuum, and as soon as I turned my back to put the vacuum cleaner away, one of the cats - I still suspect Stella - had diarrhea in two spots: next to their food dishes and in the middle of the living area.
I need a serious job, a recording or show to give me enough money to afford the cats a trip to the vet, the soober the better.

So, Larry, you're saying the missed casting of the last century would have been Gwen Verdon and Dick Van Dyke as British music hall performers?

Sunday afternoon greetings! We’re having a hint of fall weather and enjoying the open windows. It’s not supposed to last.
-
From DR Vixmom:
They are driving up to visit us in October and will have Vixson baptized while they are here.
We will also all be attending a celebration of life for Vixhubbys mother the day before thd baptism
That is wonderful the baptism will be in your church.

DR Vixmom did Vixhubbys mother have connections to your town or is the celebration of life for your family.

DR Rodzinski, I loved your college football report from last night. It didn’t go well for Michigan, but at least they lost to a highly ranked team.
-
From Rodzinski:
Ginny’s Wolverines got fairly well demolished today.
My brother recorded the game since he wouldn't be home and said he would only watch it if they won ;D He does not expect them to have a good year since their great players from last year graduated.

From DR Rodzinski:

;D I hope you are finding your job interesting.
-
Rodzinski, have a good time with your sister.
-
DR George, he does not have a classroom panic button.
-
He does have enhanced door locks.
-
I think those were installed last year.
-
I think what he has is automatic. I'll eventually get around to asking about them. I don't want to give the impression that I am worried.
-
From George:
I hope that this doesn't offend anyone. ::)
LOL, I certainly wasn't expecting it.

Slept decently. Still coughing up crap.

I'm up, I'm up - nine hours of sleep.

First off, vibes to elmore!
-
Here is my day thus far: To sleep at two-thirty. Up at six, could not fall back asleep. At seven, I did something I haven't done in eight years or more. I put on my running shoes and decided to see how far I could jog without dying.
-
I did four long blocks in all, about a quarter of mile. It was rough.
-
I plopped on the bed at eight, woke up at noon, plopped on the bed at noon and woke up at one-thirty, plopped on the bed at one-thirty and just woke just before three.
-
I've ordered food and must now cool down the house.
-
I'd guess it's eighty-one in here right now.
-
Outside it's 105-degrees.
-
So glad summer is over.
-
Over is revo spelled backwards.

Just in case anyone was wondering.

Certainly, I was.

I was wrong - it's eighty-two in the house.

Watched Scott Pilgrim vs the World with the kiddies today. They’d enjoyed watching YouTube clips of some of the battle scenes, so we watched the entire film today.
-
What a cast!
Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Chris Evans, Anna Kendrick, Michael Cera, Kieran Culkin, Brie Larsen, Aubrey Plaza, Brandon Routh… a lot of folks before they blew up.
-
Today was a day of nothing-doing for me. ::)

I was thinking about doing laundry, but that's all I did about it...thinking.

I did leave the house to drive through McDonald's for lunch.

I got two because I shared one with my friend Shelly.

I didn't get a diet Coke from McDonald's because I brought the food home and I have a lot of both diet Pepsi and diet Coke here.

Then, I just played games on my phone, and watched short videos from YouTube, Snapchat and Instagram.

I'm here now.

Now I'm here.

No, I printed the schedule for An Inspector Calls that starts rehearsals on Tuesday. :)
-
I forgot that I needed to update it with one actor's updated schedule with another show that he's in, so I'll write that in instead of printing it again.
