My assistant director sort of surprised me yesterday when she claimed that Kamala did well because she was given the questions in advance and that she had never ever claimed to be black before this election.....
The ignorance is real......
A sold out house and a 2 minute intermission - barely time enough to get one's zipper down.
I am on my way out the door for a six-month followup check with the ophthalmologist.
~~~OPENING NIGHT BREAK-A-LEG VIBES~~~ for DR Jrand73 and Company!!!
Tonight is opening night. Finally.
Last night I did some investigation. I thought the Y U G E cash register used in the bakery was attached to the counter we were using. I finally found out it wasn't - so I sent it to theeder purgatory.
It was blocking action on the SL and SR sides.....I am now on the hunt for a small electric adding machine to use in the bakery instead. We shall see..... Right now there is a basket of "bread" on the counter.
I'm up, I'm up - hard not to be up because we had us quite the shake and bake at seven-thirty. We've had smaller ones and never one that caused the emergency beeping on the phone. I stayed in bed for another hour. I think it was around a 4.6.
Opening night vibes for FLOWERS FOR ALGERNON
Back, with eyes that are fine.
But man, are they dilated. When I was leaving they asked me if I needed sunglasses, and I cavalierly said no, I've got mine in the car. Hah! It had been overcast and foggy earlier, but while I was in there the sun had come out, and I nearly had to hold my hand over my eyes just to walk to the car! I don't remember ever being so affected by that. So I'll stay in for a while and then I must run a couple of errands.
At last my Harris flag has arrived.
I ordered it more than a month ago.
My cousin whose husband ran her over was going to go to a rehab hospital today, but they think she had a stroke so she is staying put.
I'm not sure where this is leading.
We are back up :)
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was fun
But I am off to the opening night festivities.....
My cousin is having an MRI......
It's been a rotten morning. I slept well and got out of bed at 6:30. Within 15 minutes I was violently ill and spent the next hour cleaning up the bathroom and taking a bath. I feel much better, but I will be moving very cautiously the remainder of the day.
To add to my misery, neither Thatch nor Annabelle is eating this morning.
"Too Many Conflicts" I guess now DR GEORGE is working on the same play i was.
Are you feeling all better yet, singdaw?
George, glad to hear the An Inspector Calls rehearsal went well!
I asked Alexa to play My Heart Is… and she’s playing Liz Callaway. That’s a nice way to start the day.
That was a relief.
Today in a meeting, I learned about flamingos (don't ask).
I learned that they stand on one leg to conserve energy and to help maintain their body temperature. Their chicks are born gray and turn pink from their mother's milk. Flamingo mothers lose their pink color as they raise their chicks, but regain it once the chicks become independent. A group of flamingos is called a flamboyance.
In Arrested Development, Lucille has a test to determine if the man talking to her is actually an army man. She asks him who Larry Kert thought he was replacing in Company. His answer is, Dean Jones, but could Dean Jones really be replaced?
Keith got Wordle in four today.
I just didn't have anything else to say ;D
Well, I just got a text from the director canceling tonight's rehearsal. :-\
It turns out that the actor playing the Inspector can't be there tonight, so we're off until Monday, the 23rd.
A friend sent me this shot of the 9/11 memorial from his apartment last night:
Afraid to post anything on Facebook, as they're removed three posts of mine already for cybersecurity reasons. Morons.
The hair stylist I liked so much has left the shop where I go.
I accomplished shaving.
Which I hadn't done in over a week.
Can you go to his new place?
Opening night went well.....everyone was on their mettle and their nettle.
We had 100 folks in the audience and only 3 left at intermission.
There were lots of tears at the end....and a few folks stood up. And lots of good comments as folks passed me in the lobby on the way out....
Act One was 1 hour and five minutes and Act Two was One Hour and two minutes. I'll take it.....especially since last week each act ran over 80 minutes!
The stage crew and light and sound crews were spot on....the show is continuous with only a couple of blackouts in each act....mostly lights cross fade to the new location and on we go....
Twenty five locations in the first act and 18 locations in the second act......I don't list them all in the program - I was afraid it would scare the audience!
Watching a Norwegian indy flick that's like an American indy from the 70s only more up to date sensibilities. Think a gay Norma Rae at a Norwegian salmon factory.
What's it called, John? I never miss a gay Norma Rae at a Norwegian salmon factory movie.
Norwegian Dream.
And I never miss one of those either.
As opposed to Chippendale's - where the men wear no pants.
