Wonderful FLOWERS FOR ALGERNON opening night news. Congratulations, Jrand!
-
Good morning, all!

Compared to yesterday's lousy morning, all is going well this morning. I've had no health issues, the cats - to my surprise - all ate, and I believe Joshie is bringing me "You'll never get away from me."
-
DR Jrand74, I am so happy you had a fantastic opening night!
-
OMG, BK! Welcome to the nightmare world of healthcare. I'm happy that everything was resolved so quickly.

Healing vibes for Jacks cousin
Ditto!

DR VIXMOM don't send me the coon until I get a cage for it - I don't want it running all over the house.
-
Thanks, everyone.
Yes - six more performances to go.

No word yet today on cousin Lita.

Good morning, all.
-
Not a good night of sleep. Two long stretches of insomnia.
-
I see a nap in my future.

David Yazbek has composed the instrumental score for The Roomates, which sounds like a creaky play.
-
Watching a real relic of another era, the 1974 TV movie Get Christie Love. Teresa Graves is a badass undercover cop. Harry Guardino is her boss. Ron Rifkin tries to knife her. Louise Sorel is hiding from the mob.
In an early scene, a white slob tries to pick Christie up. When she refuses, he calls her the n-word, which would so not be allowed these days. Hearing it so casually used was a bit of a shock.

From DR Singdaw:
My mother was told she needs to update her RSV vaccine, but I am reading that currently the CDC recommends a single dose.
Do you know who told your mother she needs the update? Currently it is good for at least two years. Last year when it came out that was the estimate. Since then I have seen one dose or staying with the two years. I did not get a second one this year and will reevaluate next year.
-
DR Jrand, congratulations on your show.
-
No word yet today on cousin Lita.
Sending more vibes and that you will soon hear good news.

I'm up, I'm up - seven hours of sleep.

About to deal with United Health Care again and hopefully get things worked out.

You haven't returned. I hope you were able to get an appointment. New appointments can take a long time.

I'm feeling too lazy to move.

And I had a nap.

Must go to the library.

Started a graphic novel based on Arvo Part's life. Fairly interesting. Had some of his music on in the background.

I am thinking of going to an outdoor showing of Into the Woods tonight.

Never saw it on the big screen.

I know it's not Elmore's fave.

Hello, 0 guests
-
Slow day.
-
I am currently reading the dystopian novel, BURN, by Peter Heller.
-
I know it's not Elmore's fave.
THE FANTASTICKS does it better, but I actually preferred the movie to the stage show of the Sondheim-Lapine mess.
-
Hello, 0 guests
Yes, but there are 37 guests reading the board.
What ARE they reading?

Do you know who told your mother she needs the update?
I don't, but advised her that it is probably not necessary right now.
-
Today, the new John Wilson complete recording of Carousel is available for streaming.

Good. I am still curious why she was told that info, especially if it was her doctor.
-
Indeed. I will try to find out more.
-
The DH used to talk to his mother at least once a day. I spoke to mine every 2 weeks or so.
-
But now that the DH's mother has passed on, I speak to my mother every night.
-
It has become a nice habit.
-

That is very sweet.
-
It has become a nice habit.
I'm glad you are enjoying it.
-
We spoke to our parents once a week. When the children were younger I opten called my mother-in-law to tell her what they were doing. Once we moved long distance calls were expensive back then.

I forgot Beth Leavel was in Lempicka. Then I heard her voice. No one like her.

Too bad most of her shows don’t succeed.

Baby, It’s You, The Prom, Bandstand and now Lempicka come to mind.

I didn't know she was in it.
-
Baby, It’s You, The Prom, Bandstand and now Lempicka come to mind.
I love Bandstand (https://www.youtube.com/watch?si=8EjcZVp1KBUsCv_3&v=a05ChPYx9d4). ;D
-
But do you love Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve? :)

What we've got here is a dearth.
-
A dearth, I tell you.
-
And if you've got a dearth, you've got dirt.
-
And not enough of it to take us to another page.
-
A dearth of dirt.
-
I'm still hacking away. I hope this isn't a portend of a bad night of sleep.

Yum! ;)
-
Home from the movie.
-
It wasn’t great, but it wasn’t bad.
-
I think the worst part was cutting music from the end of act one and the beginning of act two, so there’s this deadly lapse of music for 20 or so minutes.
-
I also don’t like James Cordon in it. He’s not as bad as he was in The Prom.
-
Meryl Streep’s blue eye shadow seems yo be channeling Liz Taylor’s in A Little Night Music.
-
Onward!
-
Five!
-
Most irritating were three people near me who decided to have a loud conversation about A1C levels at about the start of No One Is Alone.
-
Now watching a noir called Dangerous Crossing. It’s kinda like The Lady Vanishes on a cruise ship. Only it’s the man who disappears, and his wife can’t convince anyone of his existence. Jeannie Crain and Michael Rennie.

And 112 people in the audience - lots of nice comments. And only one car fled during intermission.

And the sets are from Titanic made by Fox the same year.
Yes, also used n Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.
-
Good news on tonight's show, JRand.
-
Good night, all.
-
Page FIVE???
-
Completely weird day.
-
Weirder than weird.
-
The good part happened early.
-
There were no real bad parts.
-
Just parts that were sort of blechhh.
-
The Good, The Weird, and The Blechhh. A Sergio Leone Film.
-
What the HELL is this page five malarkey.
-
Where in tarnation WAS everyone today?
-
Not very sporting.
-
My tummy is not happy right now.
-
I think the apple I ate was perhaps fetid.
-
That's all I can think of.
-
I could think of more if we were on page six.
-
We should have been on page six HOURS ago.
-
You'd think it was a Friday night or something.
-
Allergies are acting up, too - took a Claritin-D.
-
Sometimes one simply must.
-
Surely page six must be around here somewhere.
-
And yet.
-
We're still on page five.
-
Most irritating.
-
Finally! Page six has made its very errant and truant entrance.
-
But do you love Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve? :)
I haven't watched it in years.
-
Still on page six. Barely?
-
George makes one post and then eats a burrito.
-
Not very sporting.
-
It's a long way to that page that's next.
-
A looooong way.
-
Doubtful we can get there.
-
Especially with the burrito boy engaged with his burrito.
-
I was struck by a bottle of Omega 3 supplements.
Luckily, my wounds were only super fish oil.
D'oh! ::)
-
;D
-
Especially with the burrito boy engaged with his burrito.
I've never been engaged!
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
They tell tales.
-
OK. This is going nowhere fast.
I love that song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arxD3Ro9mAk)! :D
-
But not the tale of The Randy Vicar and the Polish Pole-vaulter.
-
Like the slow boat to China.
I love that song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBr0Zg1lnNU), too!
-
That's a good one.
-
A corker.
-
What?
-
I did not eat a burrito.
-
I have no plans to eat a burrito.
-
I also don’t like James Cordon in it. He’s not as bad as he was in The Prom.
Don't get me started on how they cast the Baker's father. ::)
-
I might do tuna sandwiches today.
-
Then again, I might not.
-
Most irritating were three people near me who decided to have a loud conversation about A1C levels at about the start of No One Is Alone.
WTH?? :o
-
Then again, I might.
-
Well, we're now on the page that must not be named.
-
It can be blamed, but never named.
-
I want to be in bed by one.
-
Just in case anyone needed that information.
-
I needed it.

There are many things I need, including some modern major miracles.
-
I need a good night's sleep.
-
I knead bread.
-
Laughs, tears, and hefty mitts......and a standing ovation.
And 112 people in the audience - lots of nice comments. And only one car fled during intermission.
That's great, Jrand! Congrats!
-
Well, we're obviously never getting off the page that must not be named.
-
I feel that that much is certain.
-
Guess I'll change the topic.
-
One must.
-
It's just something that must be done.
-
And that task falls to me.
-
I am the doer of what must be done.
-
I need a good night's sleep.
