Going to a grief seminar at church this morning.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Big Birthday Wishes for our DR singdaw !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A very happy birthday to DR singdaw, aka David!
Happy Birthday DR singdaw!
And one to grow on.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR ONE AND ONLY DR SINGDAW!
Will there be cake at this dinner DR singdaw?
Saturday morning greetings! I am now exactly halfway through my radiation treatments and very glad for a couple of days off. This afternoon I’ll watch Michigan football on my iPad and a crafty event on my MacBook all while texting with my sister and niece on my iPhone.
Happiest of birthdays to DR Singdaw!

MMM vibes for MR BK.
I have a Humana Advantage Plan.
I get a $1000 Flex account each year - it doesn't roll over - it can be used for vision and dental I also have $45 per month for groceries and $75 quarterly for OTC items like allergy pills, Poligrip!, vitamins, supplements, etc. Well worth it.

I have regular Medicare and AARP/UHC's Plan N supplemental. I probably don't have the bargain on this stuff like some of you with different plans. Premiums are higher than I'd like, and I have a couple of hundred bucks deductible every year. But I'm never asked for a co-pay, and everywhere I've gone thus far, they take this with no questions asked.
I didn't pay a dime for the cataract surgeries, but there's no routine vision and dental coverage, which is all too typical with regular policies that aren't Advantage plans.
There was just a terrible commotion in the cage of the pair of keets.
Somehow the treat cup came off the cage wall and crashed to the floor.
It was pandemonium.

I see folks buying health care plans on the exchange with $8,000 and $9,000 deductibles, and I just think, "Yikes!" I mean, it would come in handy if something catastrophic happens, but otherwise...

A Very Happy Birthday to DR Singdaw!! ;D
I'm feeling sluggish and may indulge in a nap.
I went to watch that, and what happened? Something interrupted me. I'd better try again!
But yes, that "too fast and hard-driven" rings true. I can't name examples, but I know how different these things tend to sound these days. Anyhoo, a question for DR Elmore:
I don't know the scope of the project, but it sounds like y'all are researching/restoring the original score and parts, as before, but also making good transpositions for this production. Am I close?
I have been bemoaning the lousy direction over the past thirty years of operettas, particularly the Offenbach masterpieces. Last night I watched a 1982 production of La Perichole from Geneva, starring Maria Ewing, Neil Rosenshei, and Gabriel Bacquier, and directed by Jerome Savory. It was so wonderful!
U love Maria Ewing's Carmen, but she's quite charming as Perichole, and Nei Rosenshein was wone of the handsomest tenors of his time. He sang late in his career as a Metropolitan Opera second-stringer. He deserved much better.
Here's some bad video; mine is much clearer and sharper: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tN-Tn9RFSnY

We are not working for the new production; we have no contract with it. We are restoring as closely as possible - from what exists - the original orchestrations. For instance, in a post DR slingshot made weeks ago, Jay Diaz, the MD for ther Lyric Theatre production in Texas, said the guitar was cut from Broadway in 1959 because of budget. Our research saus the guitar part was added to the score in 1974 (?) for the London Angela Lansbury production.
Joshie and Jason are certainly making the newly creaed materials available to the MD of the McDonald production.

Why doesn't he remake Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, that movie could do with some re-thinking.
And don't get me started on the 90's HBO version.....please.
Not feeling great after my nap. Considering modifying the schedule for the rest of the day.
Behold my handiwork.

Should probably think about food.
I think I'll be OK to attend the dinner party tonight, too.

More vibes for DR Ginny.
Happy birthday DR singdaw!
And that is the tale of my unexpected birthday dinner.
I am quite stuffed.
Sorry to be so late ! Happy Birthday Singdaw and may the celebration continue!!
What a happy conclusion to the story!
I shall be leaving in a tick for Performance No. Three of Flours 4 Algernon.
What was the name of that movie that was like The Lady Vanishes but on a ship? Dangerous something?
So the party is on for tomorrow night.
So we went out to eat at a restaurant, and I still get a party tomorrow.
We ordered one piece of chocolate cake for dessert. I swear, there was enough cake and whipped cream on that plate to feed 6 or 8.
Leftovers were brought home.

I love Jimmy Webb's songs. Here's a fun interview largely about MacArthur's Park, which is enjoying another round of attention.
It was a good show with lots of good comments at intermission and afterwards.....but the $$ are not being generated for sure.....
Oh well.
It's almost like there's gaslighting going on.
Well, thank goodness THAT'S over with.
I had a restful day, as you'll read.
