Well, you've read the notes, the notes had both age and anxiety, and now it is time for you to post until the aged and anxious cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: DYNAMO!
-
Read on, MacDuff.

Just watched one of the worst movies I've ever seen. More about that anon.
-
And now it's late, so on my way to the boudoir
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
I thought I was getting better, but I've woken up to a real coughing jag this morning.
-
.
-
Who decides these things?
-
I love Bernstein's Symphony 2, but I don't know if I've ever heard the Entrement version. Which I will remedy.
-
I forgot to mention yesterday that I've performed Vaughn Williams's "Serenade to Music" several times, but the version with voices. Simply gorgeous.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept okay. It's the weather - not too hot,not too cold - affecting me, I think. I don't particularly want to turn on the AC to make it cold enough to sleep comfortably, and it's not warm enough to sleep with no covering.
-
I spent most of yesterday working on a new Annabelle & Thatch book and working on a new Star on the Rise photo album on Facebook, which I hope will lead to some work.
-
This morning, after kitty cleanup, I must get to serious work on "You'll Never Get Away from Me."
-
DR singdaw, you're getting two days to celebrate your birthday! How fantastic!
I hope tonight's dinner is a wonderful treat.
-
DR ChasSmith, there are two copies of this performance of Maria Ewing's performance of La Perichole. Neither one is particularly good but this is the better of the two. My copy, which I've owned for years and never watched before this week, has German subtitles.

Good morning, all.
-
I love W.H. Auden's work, especially his libretti for Britten's opera Paul Bunyan and Stravinsky's wonderful opera, The Rake's Progress, based on the 18th century art of Hogarth.
There are a lot of DVDs of The Rake, but my favorite remains the Glyndebourne production from the 1980s, designed by David Hockney.
-
Glad you enjoyed Dangerous Crossing, BK. I think brevity works in its favor.
-
Auden and Britten were among the denizens of the February House with Carson McCullers, Paul Bowles and Gypsy Rose Lee. I loved that story.
-
I must move.

Hard to believe the day is finally upon us, but this evening we have our first set of auditions for The World According to Snoopy. More of same tomorrow night, and we have an evening set aside next week in case we need it. Plus one for callbacks. Now, if only the populace will show up. Three guys, three gals, and a brilliant Woodstock. Can we do it?

Good morning
-
I must get ready for church, it is the last day of our summer hours
-
We are having rally day today, barbecue etc but I do not plan to attend

And a quick Wordle ….i hope it’s quick
-
I just remembered I had a dream about Andy Hammerstein late in the night or early this morning. No details remembered, but it was almost certainly triggered by the fact that his birthday was posted the other day, and he had also announced that he was getting a hip replacement at about the same time.
-
I am more intrigued about The Rake's Progress in October.....although generally I just mulch.

But his name is Bart and my name is Jack....I got the message.

Was this the same cast member who was usually a few minutes late?
-
Glad the show is clearly an artistic success (even if $$$ turn out to be disappointing)
-
Hey everyone! On the new Broadway Radio Show, a look at musicals built for two! Written for just 2 actors, these shows from Broadway, Off-Broadway & London may be intimate in scale, but they're packed with emotion, humor & of course, lots of great show tunes!

-
No DR FREDDIE - this is the older lady in the cast who also drives a race car in local stock car races - and she usually wins.
She drove in in her racing car at 7:15.

Wow! Vibes she stays risk-free through the run of the show!
-
Indeed......she is one of my favorite folks....been doing shows with her for a long time.
-
Got in three more hours of sleep. Huzzah!
-
Auden and Britten were among the denizens of the February House with Carson McCullers, Paul Bowles and Gypsy Rose Lee. I loved that story.
And Peter Pears, Britten's lifetime companion, And the great scene designer Oliver Smith.
-
Feel better and party vibes for DR singdaw.

DR ELMORE I am loving your La Bayadere posts on Facebook.

Free for all day.....a question for HHW'ers of a certain age.....in the first SUPERMAN television series.....who was your favorite Lois Lane:
Phyllis Coates
Noel Neill

I thought I was getting better, but I've woken up to a real coughing jag this morning.
Maybe tomorrow, if you aren't better, you can get something from your doctor for the cough.

Oh my God!
Vibes he didn't break anything!

I hope the saga is a good one.
-
DR ELMORE I am loving your La Bayadere posts on Facebook.
Yes!!! I meant to say that, and I will do so later on FB. What a great collection of photos, music, etc., and those photos are gorgeous.
-
The friend who was hosting the party fell down the stairs this morning, and may have broken something. Party is off.
Whoa. Wait. What???
-
From DR George:
We didn't actually eat the whole time, but we ordered and ate, then just stayed to chat for a total of seven, count 'em, SEVEN AND A HALF HOURS! :o
That's great :)
-
The friend who was hosting the party fell down the stairs this morning, and may have broken something. Party is off.
Oh no, not good. Vibes to your friend.
-
We were at a lovely outdoor wedding last night.
-
The garden ceremony was lovely and all was perfect until it began to rain halfway through dinner.
-
Fortunately the homeowner of the garden invited us to move inside. Originally the plan was not to enter the house. Even the basement bathroom had a separate entrance.
-
The home is on the historical registry and was very nice.
-
Before the wedding in Portland we to Powell's. Freyja couldn't find anything she wanted ;D
-
George, your story in last night's posts of your time with your reunion group was lots of fun! So glad you enjoyed yourself and that you could stay the whole time this time.
-
Yesterday we attended opening night for The Handmaid's Tale by Poul Ruders at San Francisco Opera. Great performances and a powerful story, but the music struck me as old-fashioned 1970s modernism and not very effective. Nice orchestrations though!
-
It was fun seeing so many West Bay Opera alumni on that stage, including our Anne Trulove, Carmen, Nemorino, and Trouble from the most recent productions of those operas.
-
Thank you for the repor DR MICHAELG
-
Oh no DR singdaw.....what will happen to the cake?
-
DR JANE.....oh my well weather can wreak havoc on the best laid plans of mice and men.
-
I thought I was getting better, but I've woken up to a real coughing jag this morning.
Nooooo!! :o

I spent most of yesterday working on a new Annabelle & Thatch book and working on a new Star on the Rise photo album on Facebook, which I hope will lead to some work.
I haven't been on FB in a while. I think I need to hie myself over there and read these!

Thanks, Jane, it was. We're not dining again until October, so we'll have a break from the chatting.
-
George, your story in last night's posts of your time with your reunion group was lots of fun! So glad you enjoyed yourself and that you could stay the whole time this time.
Thanks, Freddie. Me, too.
-
DR CHAS SMITH is The World According to Snoopy a different show than SNOOPY!!!....I have done the latter and I love it......
-
I have baked and broiled some chicken breasts and diced some onions, green peppers, and a cucumber so in a bit I shall have some chicken salad.......
-
DR ELMORE I am loving your La Bayadere posts on Facebook.
AKA "Desperate promotional bid!" Thanks!
-
The friend who was hosting the party fell down the stairs this morning, and may have broken something. Party is off.
OMG! A birthday weekend to remember . . . NOT!
-
I have heard of The Age of Anxiety....and I have lived it.....but I have not read it.
This must be remedied at once.
HHW has expanded my horizons for 30 years.
-
PAGE FOUR!
-
Well wadda ya know?
-
Stairs are the enemy....just saying.
I almost bought a split level house......untii I realized what that meant...ONE Level for those of a certain age,
-
Don't buy a house where you have to climb the stairs to go to the bathroom.
So say old folks on HHW.
-
Sorry about your party, Singdaw. Vibes for your friend.
-
Thanks, MichaelG, for the repor.
-
I'm up, I'm up - nine and a half hours of good sleep.
-
Will shortly be on my way to the mail place, food, and then back here for finessing.
-
So, a partial ME day.
-
I liked both Lois Lanes equally well - Noell was more fun, Phyllis more no-nonsense.
-
I, on the other hand am both fun and no-nonsense.
-
Being no-nonsense is better than being nonsense.
-
Not sure what to do about food.
-
Guess I'll know soon enough.
-
Near the mail place are Gelson's, Jack in the Box, Fatburger, and Popeye's.
-
Trying not to do fast food for awhile so perhaps Gelson's.
-
Thank you for response MR BK....I of course like Phyllis Coates because she was the no nonsense reporter who called her editor, Clark Kent, and everyone else on their BS.
She is still alive....the last surviving member of the cast.
-
Noel played Lois Lane in the serials, but she is lacking IMO of the spunk that is needed for Lois.
I am of course showing my age on a subject that doesn't matter today.
-
Thanks for your response MR BK on an opinion whose time has past...but is still interesting to those of a certain age.
-
Enjoyed reading about the opera, DR MichaelG.
-
LUCKY #110
-
Listening as we post to Entrement. It is a very good recording.
-
The opening of the symphony, with just the two solo instruments, is very striking.
-
The Masque in this recording has the percussion balanced more evenly with the solo piano, which I like.
-
Thanks for your response MR BK on an opinion whose time has past...but is still interesting to those of a certain age.
Still very interesting to hear comparisons by people who know the work well enough to have an opinion.
-
Back from Gelson's and the mail place. Had ribs and some soup. Ribs were almost TOO meaty and I'm feeling gross - but they were certainly good and better than good compared to my local Gelson's.
-
I'm soooo full.
-
I believe the word of the day is - FULL.
-
Bursting at the seams.
-
Must go sit on the couch.
-
The question is - will I be able to get up.
-
That IS the question.
-
Meanwhile - page five is live.
-
DR JANE.....oh my well weather can wreak havoc on the best laid plans of mice and men.
Yup.
-
Don't buy a house where you have to climb the stairs to go to the bathroom.
So say old folks on HHW.
I completely agree.
-
Freyja was interested in watching Keith do Wordle, which he got in three.
-
He then opened an archived Wordle and they did it together.
-
It was cute, she came up with the second word guess.
-
She did not like the sound of Keith's third guess, groin ;D
-
They went with a different word but had to return to groin, the correct word, on the forth guess.
-
So somebody else supposedly took a shot near Trump. Sounds suspicious.
-
Sounds vaguely against open carry regulations.
-
Because aren’t people who follow open carry laws all excellent marksmen who could never miss their target?
-
So somebody else supposedly took a shot near Trump. Sounds suspicious.
I know and I know.
-
'night
-
I’m feeling bored.
-
I don’t want to watch the rest of the movie in my DVD player.
-
I don’t want to water the plants.
-
I don’t want to start a new book.
-
It’s hot and it’s monotonous.
A reference to that fellow.
-
Gratuitous post 140!
-
I think I will start John Huston’s Freud on YouTube.
-
The YouTube version has Spanish subtitles. Oh joy.
-
Don't buy a house where you have to climb the stairs to go to the bathroom.
So say old folks on HHW.
I have three levels, but at least I go downstairs to go. ;)
-
Freyja was interested in watching Keith do Wordle, which he got in three.
Nice!
-
I have nothing exciting to report.
-
But I am looking forward to trying to sleep tonight.
-
So there's that to look forward to.
-
Once we get the darned page turned.
-
Which is right on schedule.
-
PAGE SIX!
-
Good night, friends.
-
And others.
-
Good evening!
-
Wordle: 4/6
-
Thank you for response MR BK....I of course like Phyllis Coates because she was the no nonsense reporter who called her editor, Clark Kent, and everyone else on their BS.
She is still alive....the last surviving member of the cast.
I like both but would give a slight edge to Phyllis.
-
Been watching some truly fascinating things that I found on the Tube of You.
-
Halfway through Freud. It's interesting. It's as if Huston watched plenty of Hitchcock in order to make it. The black and white is almost Wellesian. But it doesn't feel like Huston
-
Not a great movie. Not even a great Montgomery Clift performance. But an interesting experiment nonetheless.
-
I must watch Freud one of these days. I've only seen it once, about fifteen years ago and didn't really care for it - and it's way too long.
-
It is way too long and way too pat. But for it’s time, it’s fairly progressive.
-
Good night, all.
-
Page SIX?
-
Again?
-
Not very sporting.
-
Finished with my viewing. So many interesting discoveries, one of which I'll be posting about in the notes, complete with link.
-
Having a tortilla with cheese for a snack.
-
Why not?
-
Who's to stop me.
-
Who am I to say nay.
-
I say, yea verily yea.
-
What am I, The Court Jester all of a sudden?
-
I'll start writing some notes soon.
-
Once again, I did not finesse. Will do so after posting the notes.
-
I simply must.
-
Can't wait until the last minute.
-
Hello dear friend-o’s!
-
Back and recovered after a whirlwind time in Chicago, coming home to sick kids, had to get the daughter some antibiotics today for strep, getting things back under control.
-

Place looks worse than before
-
Anybody got a match?
-

Hello Vixmom!

Wouldn’t bk be pleased?

All we can do is trudge forward and beyond the cursed page.

Been listening to Ronnie Millsap this evening. What a run of crossover hits he had in the early ‘80s.
-
Back and recovered after a whirlwind time in Chicago, coming home to sick kids, had to get the daughter some antibiotics today for strep, getting things back under control.

That would be cool. I played Tim Allgood back in the 1990s.

No! That would be worse! :o

-
All we can do is trudge forward and beyond the cursed page.
We must Sally Forth!
-
How can we still be on the page that shall not be named?
-
Amazing.
-
Not in a good way.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
They're a bit long.
-
I told several tales.
-
But not the tale of The Randy Vicar and the Tuna Melt.
-
That one's a corker.
-
Is there gaslighting going on?
-
See?
-
Looks like we made it.
-
What am i, Barry Manilow all of a sudden?
-
And where did George disappear to?
-
Gone with the wind.
