Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of Mr. Freberg, and now it is time for you to post until Freberg FANatic cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PRESCIENT!
-
Wordle 1,185 4/6
⬜⬜⬜🟩⬜
⬜⬜⬜🟩⬜

-
Umm, BK, the YouTube link in your notes is for a different video, "Dave and Charlie's Workshop (1951) Cliff Arquette (as Charley Weaver) & Dave Willock."
:-\
-
Oops, will correct that - the Dave Willock (Muse Margaret's daddy) is great.
-
Fixed.
-
Cool.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
Slept well, if not long enough.
-
.
-
Guacamole. An idea I can get behind.
-
I did not watch the Emmys.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept well, given all the variables. I remember none of the dreams.
-
This morning is a laundry day so I want to gedt down to the laundry room as soon as I can.
-
I also need to call Access-a-Ride for the trip to my doctor's appointment.
-
My lab results came back to my satisfaction, and I don't think my A1C has been as low as it is now in years. The one test the doctor did not order was my PSA. so I guess I will have that before my next appointment with my radiation doctor.

TOD
My close personal friend, Tom Lehrer
-
Good morning, all.
-
And a happy Monday morning to all'a'y'all.
-
Today is, hopefully, grass and weed cutting day. And another round of auditions tonight.
-
I fell asleep to the TV last night, and at some point I kept waking up and seeing images which started folding into a dream I was having. Kind of a surreal thing till I was awake enough to turn the TV off. Later, toward morning, I had a big ol' regular dream that nevertheless made no sense whatever.
-
Yesterday DR Jrand74 asked:
DR CHAS SMITH is The World According to Snoopy a different show than SNOOPY!!!....I have done the latter and I love it......
Revised version from 2017. There are about ten excerpts from the premiere performance at Texas State University on YouTube, along with a couple of interview videos with Larry Grossman and the key individuals there.
-
Ah thanks.....something else to learn from HHW.
-
I have bookmarked the Chow Mein Hour.
-
TOD:
Another vote for Tom Lehrer and I will add Allan Sherman.
-
It is a comfortable day here - 69 degrees headed for 87 degrees - but right now the windows are open and the ac is off!
-
It's a nice ME day.....that I will enjoy.
-
Greatly.
-
Page Two. :D
-
Good morning, all.
-
Had a long sleepless spell in the middle of the night. Then slept well.
-
Had guacamole yesterday.
-
How are you feeling, Singdaw?
-
Windows Update - I had to restart my computer......
-
Vibes for the Rodzinski kids.
-
Quick recovery vibes for the Rodzinski family!
-
singdaw, hoping you're feeling better.
-
Chow Mein Hour bookmarked, and channel subscribed.
-
TOD: Among well-known works, among my favorites were whoever was writing spoofs for the Sonny and Cher Show in the 1970s. For example, the V-A-M-P lyrics and sketches still hold up beautifully today.
A real favorite (IMHO) example V-A-M-P lyric is at 8:52 here for the "Streetcar" spoof
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4I-0U2I0qg
"Blanche and Stanley really set the town on fire.
She knocked him off his trolley and they called it Desire."
-
TOD
The Simpsons
-
Definitely, The Simpsons spoofs are among the very best of all time, too!
-
Satirists like the Saturday Night Live folks (including John Mulaney) and Randy Rainbow are doing real high-quality spoofs where they actually seem to get quoted and have potential political impact.
-
BK, would you say some of your work like "What If?" and the "Out of the Box" series falls into the category for the TOD, even though your best-known work is not of that type?
-
I forgot the EMMY Awards show was last night.
I don't think I was nominated.
-
I forgot the EMMY Awards show was last night.
I don't think I was nominated.
It may not have appeared in the year as the rules define it.
-
strep is not fun at all. Vibes the Rodzinki kids are feeling better today.
-
Monday morning/afternoon greetings! It’s almost noon…
-
I forgot the EMMY Awards show was last night.
I don't think I was nominated.
I thought you won one.

I made this corn salad yesterday using canned corn that I put under the broiler. It worked beautifully and I'm having the leftovers now. Will definitely make this again.

My lab results came back to my satisfaction, and I don't think my A1C has been as low as it is now in years. The one test the doctor did not order was my PSA. so I guess I will have that before my next appointment with my radiation doctor.
Congrats on the low A1C!
-
TOD
My close personal friend, Tom Lehrer
He's good! Ditto!
-
I'll add Dave Frishburg to my list for the Topic of the Daym
-
Monday morning/afternoon greetings! It’s almost noon…
Sending more treatment vibes, Ginny.

That looks really good!
-
Vibes for the Rodzinski family and for DR GINNY.
-
Thanks DR JOHN G I'll watch the mail for the statue.
-
I liked the CHOW MEIN video except for the presence of Sterling Holloway who sits my teeth on edge in the worst way......and I have a partial.

Answering the age-old question, when did I have corn salad?
-
Page Three!
-
Thank you, Miss Channing.
-
finally....working our towards Page Seven.
-
Since it's a slow posting day:
A little rap-style music to pick up an Emmy by (or is it by which to pick up an Emmy?)
HOLLYWOOD GOWN (parody of Harriet Schock's song HOLLYWOOD TOWN - Manfred Mann recording)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8WdZ6QYw8oA
-
finally....working our towards Page Seven.
LOL!
-
Very nice DR FREDDIE.
-
Thanks, Jrand!
We aim to fill up space on slow posting days!
-
Even shilling YouTube videos if that's what it takes
-

A lull.
-
Can anything get us to page 4 before 4 pm (Eastern time)?
-
Maybe the 48 Guests who are viewing this board could post something?
-
Just one post from each of the 48 Guests could get us somewhere
-
Like page 5 even
-
Will we be at Page 4 before BK gets here?
-
You never know when he'll show up
-
But page 3 won't make him happy
-
Maybe a simple countdown
-
In two
-
I'm up, I'm up - ten hours of sleep.
-
Must get ungroggified before stumble-through.
-
Page Four!
-
Freddie, yes, I think the What Ifs and Outside the Box stuff would count.
-
Stumble-through vibes for the Kritzerland show.
-
Hope the Rodzinski family feels better soon.
-
So Marsha Mason ended up going on for Mia Farrow in THE ROOMMATE on Sunday
https://www.nytimes.com/2024/09/15/theater/farrow-mason-roommate-broadway.html
"On Broadway, a Covid Switcheroo: Marsha Mason in for Mia Farrow"
Mason, an associate director of “The Roommate,” which opened on Broadway last week, stepped in as Patti LuPone’s counterpart.
-
Just been resting my voice and trying to get all the guck out of my throat.
-
I'll shave and shower shortly.

I would think that would be a good switch.
-
We had an early lunch at Mcmenamins with the kids before they left. We won't see them again until next year, may January.
-
:D
-
I forgot to log out before we left for today’s appointment. It went smoothly and, after lunch here at home and a nice video chat with my sister, I took a long nap.
-
A long nap.
-
Nice.

I am very glad your appointment went smoothly.

Keith got Wordle in three today.
-
~~~HEALTH VIBES~~~ for the Rodz clan!!!!
-
Glad your A1C was good, DR elmore3003!
-
I'm still tired all the time, but much less coughing today, so that's a positive development.
Very good news, Singdaw!
-
I saw this. I don't know if it is true or accurate. But if it is, please be careful out there.
-
Perhaps I should check Snopes.
-
Well, Snopes says there is some merit in this, although probably not as extreme as depicted. It is hard to make the concoction delay the reaction, so there may not be much need to worry.
-
Well, isn't that charmingl
-
Why don't they go back to eating Tide Pods?
-
Kids.
-
Onward!
-
Five!
Glad that the coughing is getting better, and hoping the tiredness stops!
Well, this looks interesting:
Love Lies Bleeding is as extreme as I would imagine being coked out my head would be. And maybe even more dysfunctional than most families I know.
-
I saw this. I don't know if it is true or accurate. But if it is, please be careful out there.
I did a search and this is true. As far as I can find the problem goes as far back as 2012.
-
Well, Snopes says there is some merit in this, although probably not as extreme as depicted. It is hard to make the concoction delay the reaction, so there may not be much need to worry.
I have never seen one;D
-
I'm still tired all the time, but much less coughing today, so that's a positive development.
Encouraging news.
-
BE WELL VIBES FOR DR SINGDAW!
-
JRand, if you can stand violence in the extreme, check out Love Lies Bleeding. The very surreal ending pays homage to one of your favorite movies.
-
Now partying to Stop Making Sense, which I have never seen before. I love Talking Heads, so this is reassuring a lot of fun, a perfect companion to Spike Lee’s film of David Byrne’s American Utopia.
-
DR JOHN G I am intrigued......but I don't know if I am curious enough.
-
Stumble-through went very well - some fumfers and musical weirdness, but it's a great show, structure was fine, several off-the-charts show stoppers, and a great, great company of players.
-
I've ordered food and it should be here in about ten or fifteen minutes.
-
And I'm stahving.
-
Truly.
-
Madly.
-
Hunger pangs.
-
Rumbly grumbly stomach.
-
Ready for food.
-
Right now.
-
Holy cow.
-
Anything the traffic will allow.
-
Let's all take a bow.
-
Or check the Dow.
-
Much longer and I'll go POW.
-
Hope the food is good so I can give it a WOW.
-
DR JOHN G I am intrigued......but I don't know if I am curious enough.
SPOILER ALERT!
The female bodybuilder, zonked out on enhancement drugs, becomes the 50 foot woman. She manages to toy with a rather grotesque Ed Harris in a way that must be seen to be believed.
-
Six!
-
'night
-
Started a Woody Allen movie I don't remember seeing before, Hollywood Ending. Surprised to see Greg Edelman in the first scene. JRand's favorite, Debra Messing, is in it as a bimbo and typecasting is painful.
-
Stumble-through went very well - some fumfers and musical weirdness, but it's a great show, structure was fine, several off-the-charts show stoppers, and a great, great company of players.
Very nice, BK!
-
That's terrific, BK!
-
I haven’t seen Hollywood Ending before. Not finding it all that funny.
-
Glad to hear the Kritzerland show is progressing to Opening Night.
-
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
-
Somehow I feel like it's the end of the day.
-
LUCKY #160
-
Somehow I feel like it's the end of the day.
What is this reference?
-
It's from a movie. Which one, I can't say.
-
Because I don't know.
-
I swipe things indiscriminately. :)
-
I'm an equal opportunity swiper.
-
TOD:
Tom Lehrer
Victor Borge
Anna Russell
Vaughan Meader
-
Good night, friends.
-
And others.
-
I swipe things indiscriminately. :)
LOL!
-
Good night, all.
-
I liked the CHOW MEIN video except for the presence of Sterling Holloway who sits my teeth on edge in the worst way......and I have a partial.
He seems to be playing the same TV guy he played on the Twilight Zone.
-
Thank you for the vibes, friends. I think both kids should return to school on the morrow.
-
I saw a film on the plane the other day. This is how I see films anymore. Rocket Man, the Elton John bio. Fairly cornball presentation anchored by an extremely strong lead performance.
-
Saw another film the 3 young kids who do video shorts on SNL. Please Do Not Destroy in the Treasure of something or other. Pleasant enough dorky comedy.
-
Hated Hollywood Ending and pretty much every Woody film from that period.
-
Page SIX?
-
Not very sporting.
-
But it's better than page five.
-
But worse than the page that shall not be named.
-
Is there gaslighting going on?
-
See?
-
Now, how fast can we get off this damn page?
-
Not fast enough.
-
Faster than a speeding bullet.
-
Everyone seems to have disappeared.
-
Gone with the wind.
-
Gone fishing.
-
All the gone that's fit to print.
-
It's just me and my shadow.
-
What about it?
-
Them's fightin' words.
-
Put your dukes up.
-
Prepare to defend yourself.
-
Pistols at dawn.
-
Nobody here but us chickens.
-
Even the ducks have ducked out.
-
George is probably eating a burrito.
-
Rodzinski is probably tending to the sick.
-
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
(http://www.haineshisway.com/smf/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=7722.0;attach=23468)
Sounds like a plan! :D
-
Gratuitous Post #200!!
-
I am tending to the tending.
-
I am even tending to the impending tending.
-
George has shown up.
-
In all his jam and glory.
-
I liked the CHOW MEIN video except for the presence of Sterling Holloway who sits my teeth on edge in the worst way......and I have a partial.
He seems to be playing the same TV guy he played on the Twilight Zone.
He pretty much plays himself in everything. ::)
;)
-
I am ready for bed.
-
And bed is ready for me.
-
It is calling me.
-
I can hear it.
-
It sings Joey, Joey, Joey.
-
Who the HELL is Joey.
-
Finally a page we can name, namely eight.
-
George is probably eating a burrito.
Nope...today it was doctored up box macaroni and cheese. :)
-
And then I wrote...
-
Rodzinski is probably tending to the sick.
As well he should.
-
Why I oughta...
-
Yes.
-
For sure.
-
Absolutely.
-
Positively.
-
Come rain or come shine.
-
Who the HELL is Joey.
SPOILER ALERT! He's the one who knocked up Rosabella.
-
It's been cooler here for several days now. Very pleasant.
-
Rosabella.
-
Sweet like a flower.
-
Today was a weird day. Nothing weird happened, but four years ago today, both my dad and my cat died. :(
-
Happy to make your acquaintance.
-
Thank you so much I feel fine.
-
Weird days do occur.
-
Happy to make your acquaintance.
I love the original Broadway cast recording.
-
I don't care for them myself.
-
I feel Warm all Over.
-
And My Heart Is So Full of You.
-
Don't cry - don't cry - go on back in the house and don't cry.
-
What a score.
-
Not a bum note in all of it.
-
And there's plenty.
-
I think we can actually make it to the next page.
-
It will take some doing.
-
I love Liz's version of "Joey, Joey, Joey (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6ncMJI0f2Q)." :D
-
But once we put our mind to something, we make it happen.
-
And it happened.
-
Yes, I love Liz's Joey, too.
-
Unique.
-
Only took eight tries to get to that arrangement.
-
Page nine has made its entrance.
-
Only took eight tries to get to that arrangement.
The Burt Bacharach style was a brilliant idea.
-
And it's here to stay.
-
I tell that entire story in Album Produced by.
-
It's a good story.
-
A tale that needed to be told.
-
I tell that entire story in Album Produced by.
Yup.
-
It's a good story.
Definitely!
-
Maybe not quite as trenchant as The Randy Vicar and the Three-Fingered Bowling Ball.
-
That one is a corker.
-
A real corker.
-
Not for the faint of heart.
-
The faint of heart should stay far away from THAT tale.
-
I did not eat a burrito.
-
I haven't eaten a burrito in quite some time.
-
The only place I ever get them from is Taco Bell.
-
I haven't eaten a burrito in quite some time.
I had frozen burrito just yesterday. It was quite tasty. :)
-
Bean and cheese.
-
The only place I ever get them from is Taco Bell.
I usually get the Burrito Supreme with extra beef.
-
With onions.
-
That's simple and good.
-
No way to really muck up a bean and cheese burrito.
-
Well, this is not good:
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs arrested in New York, his attorney tells CNN (https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/sean-diddy-combs-arrested-in-new-york-his-attorney-tells-cnn/ar-AA1qGmJ5)
:o
-
Why, I would be suprised if we don't get off this damn page.
-
What did Diddy do that Diddy shouldn't have done and did Diddy do the deed that Diddy supposedly did.
-
Page ten has made its entrance.
-
It was a fine entrance.
-
Indictment will be unsealed on Monday.
-
Diddy or didn't he? That is the question.
-
Well, this was a late nigh flurry.
-
Boom Diddy Boom.
-
Dishes are done and done are dishes.
-
Beeping tells me that.
-
Soon it will be the brushing of the teeth.
-
I want to be in bed no later than twelve-thirty, but even earlier if possible.
-
Tummy isn't feeling that great right now - too many onions earlier.
-
Too many onions
And I'm really paying the price right now
Thousands of onions
Making me feel gross...
-
Isn't that a Sondheim song?
-
All right then.
-
The time is nigh.
-
George has disappeared into the ether.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
What did Diddy do that Diddy shouldn't have done and did Diddy do the deed that Diddy supposedly did.
"The charges and details of the case against Combs are unclear at this time."
But:
"Earlier this year, Combs became the target of a months-long sex trafficking probe by the Homeland Security Investigations agency, which included dramatic searches of the musician’s Los Angeles and Miami homes in March."
And:
"Since last November, Combs has been hit with ten lawsuits, nine directly accusing him of sexual assault. As previously reported by CNN, several of those accusers had met with federal investigators for questioning as part of the wide-ranging probe."
-
Too many onions
And I'm really paying the price right now
Thousands of onions
Making me feel gross...
:))
-
I like onions...especially raw onions on burgers. ;D
-
George has disappeared into the ether.
I has returned!
-
Well...
-
...we...
-
...need...
-
...to turn the page to...
-
GRATUITOUS PAGE ELEVEN POST #300 DANCE!!
-
;D
