Good morning, all!
-
After sleeping soundly for four hours, I woke around 2:00, and the night went to hell. The remainder of the night was a restless mess. Thatch and Stella, who were in bed with me, slept fine.
-
Around 7:00 last night, I got anm unhappy email from the publisher of Annabelle & Thatch. In July, he hoped the book would be published in the fall, and I passed that info on to folk who asked when the book would be out. Well, now it's been pushed to the spring.
-
Joshie's coming tomorrow for "You'll Never Get Away from Me," so I miust finish that today.
-
DR slingshot, that Drano story is frightening.Did you learn if it was true? Sad thing is, it sounds like something I and my hooligan friends and brothers would have done in 1956, thinking it was a real joke. My parents were so screwed up and dysfunctional, we were never taught anything about respect for others or their property. God, kids are stupid. Luckily, some of us hopefully outgrow that.

Last night, BK wrote and posted:

And I'm really paying the price right now
Thousands of onions
Making me feel gross... "
That's so wonderful!

Up too late again last night and I'm paying for it again now! And so it goes.
-
DR Elmore, that news from the publisher doth bite the big one.
-
Not a great turnout for auditions so far, but we're reconvening for more next week.
-
DR RONPULLIAM has been MIA for awhile.
-
Yesterday, Lauren Bacall would have been 100 years old.
-
That felt worth noting somehow.
-
I'm up, I'm up - about four and a half hours of sleep, maybe five.
-
I got to bed at a reasonable hour but woke up at four-thirty with ABS (Active Brain Syndrome), got up, wrote for almost ninety minutes, then back to bed and finally back asleep.
-
Thank you, DRs JRand and John G.
-
She of the Evil Eye should be here shortly.

Hmmm... I'd never thought of the song as a duet.
But remember when Liza Minnelli and the Pet Shop Boys recorded the song?

And the kids on the bus in Camp.
Was just last night showing the kids a couple scenes from Camp. A most excellent Turkey Lurkey Time.
-
Ron P, hope you are ok wherever you are.
-
Mitchum: Friends of Eddie Coyle.
Peck: Mirage.
-
Weird day here. I got a few things done, but not the outdoorsy stuff that I'd planned.
That can happen on the morrow and Thursday and Friday.
-
I love CAMP! And yes, that Turkey Lurkey is the bomb.
I'm due for a watching, myself. I always forget a couple of the kids' story lines, so it's a fun rediscovery.
-
Mitchum: Friends of Eddie Coyle.
Peck: Mirage.
Oh, two excellent ones. I came to EDDIE COYLE late in life, but I've loved MIRAGE since its release when I went a couple of times. I still have my movie tie-in paperback and soundtrack LP bought then.

Forgot to say, yesterday:
$2.89
A slow downward trend, and it's been holding at that for several days.
-
DR vixmom purchases gas on the BJ's credit card.
At this store that price is 15 cents lower, so... $2.74.
-
And the kids on the bus in Camp.
Was just last night showing the kids a couple scenes from Camp. A most excellent Turkey Lurkey Time.
I love that movie. I knew Anna Kendrick and Robin de Jesus were going to go far.

I think in ninth grade English, we read 40 books over the course of the year, everything from To Kill a Mockingbird and Animal Farm to Pygmalion/My Fair Lady and Romeo and Juliet/West Side Story. We were given a choice of Dickens (Oliver Twist, David Copperfield or Great Expectations) and a modern classic (On the Beach, Brave New World, Fahrenheit 451). We had to pick a classic (I chose Portrait of Dorian Gray) and a play (I chose Cyrano). We also read Plato's Dialogues and Ecclesiastes, poetry (Auden's Age of Anxiety), and who knows what all else. Jane Eyre was in there too.
-
In short, we were always reading.

Watching a Soviet film called Brief Encounters. It’s dreamlike. Like the visuals, undecided about whether I like it.

Back from a breakfast at a jernt I haven't been to in a while, the Magnolia Diner or something like that - once the hottest breakfast spot in town. Wasn't sure I'd get in but the parking lot was completely empty. Parked and the jernt, like the parking lot - a ghost town. Had a bacon and cheese omelet with some home fries - not great, not terrible.
-
Came out to a totally flat tire - front driver's side. Must've done something to it recently, I suppose. Of course, no gas stations actually do that sort of thing anymore and I was five miles from the home environment. I decided to chance it and I guess Mercedes makes a very sturdy car because I made it to the tire place that's just a stone's throw from me - half a mile. Didn't hurt anything and the tire wasn't even trashed. Whew!
-
Got two, while I was there - the other two were fine. They changed them out pretty quickly and then I came home.
-
Did more work on the thing I'm toying with, writing-wise - lyrics.
-
I'm really tired and moving slowly.
-
Heard from the club - we're still very light for tomorrow night - we do usually get some walk-ups so hopefully that will happen but we've told the cast they can comp some cover charges and hopefully we can add thirty to what we've got and then we'll be fine.
-
Couldn't ask for a starrier cast so I don't know what the deal is with this one.
-
Our anniversary shows have always done well in the past. A few of our regulars were out of town.
