Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of the coming pudding revolution, and now it is time for you to post until the revolutionary cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CHERISH!
-
I was just about to post this last night, but the day got locked:
George, of course, has disappeared and is most likely eating a burrito.
What is your obsession with me eating a burrito?? ;) Tonight Last night, I actually had some leftover nachos. I didn't reheat them long enough to make the chips crunchy again, but they were still tasty.

Good morning, all!

I slept very well, surrounded by all three felines. I had a long Drama Book Shop dream, as well as something else I no longer remember.

The U.N. is back in session, which means trasffic in town will be a mess. I've rescheduled tomorrow's trip to my podiatrist, and quite happy to be out of midtown traffic this week.

Last night I watched on Amazon Prime about 2/3 of a terrible film from 2008, Fling, which sounded intriguing from the Prime synopsis. Well, it wasn't.

I shall be on my way to my covid vaccine/flu shot appointment in a bit.....I hope I don't feel sick the rest of the day the way I did last year......but I wouldn't be surprised.
-
My mom always made pudding.....I liked to watch her make it.
Sometimes it burned....ugh.
Butterscotch was my favorite.....she also sometimes made a pudding pie....but that was usually chocolate.

Notes consumed. Presumed.

TOD:
Bread pudding still seems to be around, on several menus I've seen.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Dreams were odd. They had to do with overseeing the cutting down of a tree and processing it into wood.
Cue the song Wood from The New Yorkers, I guess.
-
When I first dealt with the removal of a kidney tumor, I had chocolate pudding in the hospital that was so artificial and disgusting I couldn’t get the flavor out of my mouth or mind.
-
When I got home I made my own chocolate pudding to make up for it. It was worse.
-
The second time I had a tumor removed, I ordered both the chocolate and the vanilla. The chocolate was still vomit-on-the-ground disgusting, but the vanilla was surprisingly good.
-
I’m not a big fan of figgy pudding, so don’t bring any right here. A friend’s sister ised to make it a Christmas because her husband liked to be the one who lit it on fire.
I found it not worth the trouble. Apparently the sister agreed. After the husband’s death, she stopped making it.
-
I do like sticky toffee pudding.
-
And I make a mean donut bread pudding with dried cherries, nuts and chocolate in it, plus a hard sauce.
-
Every culture makes rice pudding differently, I have found. I like Mexican and Indian versions more than some from the Mediterranean or the Middle East.
-
And I think that’s all the pudding posts I will make.
-
Until I remember something else.

Great article, DR elmore! Thanks for sharing it.
-
Thanks for the concert vibes. Yesterday's show went great. We had a singer friend in the audience who really enjoyed it. Hopefully there will be YouTube videos available at some point.
-
Tonight I start rehearsals with a different chorus for one of my bucket list pieces to sing, Howard Hanson's Symphony No. 7. I attended the premiere at Interlochen that BK reissued back in Bay Cities days. Copland's Canticle of Freedom is also on the program, which was written for the dedication of our college's auditorium.

TOD: I'm not a huge pudding / custard / flan type of guy, but yes to puddings in the English sense of steamed desserts like sticky toffee pudding and bread pudding.
-
One night on a business trip to New Orleans we watched some bread puddings go to a neighboring table. One of the people there saw us ogling the desserts and said "I've had two!" Well, that was good enough for us, so we ordered and it was indeed phenomenal. I haven't had one as good since, but that doesn't keep me from trying.

Butterscotch was my favorite.....she also sometimes made a pudding pie....but that was usually chocolate.
I've made cooked pudding, but from a box (mostly Jell-O brand), but I don't think I've ever made pudding from an actual recipe. :)
-
It does sound really good...except for the burned part. ::)
;)

TOD:

I do love me some bread pudding!
-
I love most puddings that I've had, except rice pudding (I don't like the texture; give me tapioca any day!) and instant vanilla of any brand. :P
-
I've never had an instant vanilla that was worth the calories. Cooked vanilla can be pretty good, but just not instant.

From DR John:
I may go see Doug Emhoff tomorrow. He’s coming to otown. I hope my agreeing to go is not contingent upon a major donation.
Cool, though it is possible about the donation.

John, your bougainvillea is pretty.

Croissant Bread Pudding with Caramel Sauce is yummy, and also makes that delicious french toast.

When I first dealt with the removal of a kidney tumor, I had chocolate pudding in the hospital that was so artificial and disgusting I couldn’t get the flavor out of my mouth or mind.
Yuck.
-
The second time I had a tumor removed, I ordered both the chocolate and the vanilla. The chocolate was still vomit-on-the-ground disgusting, but the vanilla was surprisingly good.
Chocolate pudding needs to be french made. I actually prefer packaged vanilla to fresh, at least that is my personal experience.

I don't like rice pudding or tapioca.

I like custard pie.

I can't remember the last time I had plain pudding.

Thinking about packaged vanilla pudding it is possible I would not like it today.

The Urban Dictionary tells us: "To eat the burrito is to live life to the fullest, to take on a task whole-heartedly, to persevere and overcome adversity."

Unless that Gypsy article is a new one, I posted about that DAYS ago when it appeared and unless it's been revised, I complained about it on Facebook and here because it had left out elmore's name.

Out of a jury pool of nearly 70 people, they only needed to pick eight (count 'em) for the one trial that was to be starting today. So the odds were pretty good for not being selected.
-
Pudding was certainly a regular thing at home, but I don't know how my mother made it. Probably from the packages. To the best of my memory, I always liked it, but I might have occasionally found it a bit boring.
At one point years later, I liked eating it out of those ready-to-eat containers.
I'll be happy to join BK's army. I do remember it being a regular item at restaurants and coffee shops, and a big YEA to the rice pudding, too. Love it.
-
I understand the grateful, elmore - I will never understand not being credited for work you do and the work you do is important, clearly, or they wouldn't be paying you. Giving credit is the easiest thing in the world - it costs no one anything and takes nothing away from anything. Not giving credit for credit's sake, that's not what I'm talking about - credit for working on a project.
-
Guess I'll get ready to do my errand.
-
Does everyone eat rice pudding with raisins? I don't know if it's always been a regular thing, but one place I used to get it as a take-out always had raisins, and I always added even more at home.

Back from errand and Astroburger. Haven't been there since the pandemic in 2020. Zucchini fries were excellent. The bacon cheeseburger was good, but not up to the usual greatness - almost no sauce and some turning brown lettuce. I should have made them do it over again with fresh lettuce. I got some extra sauce and, as I said, it was certainly good.
-
And now I am home.

Too zonked to work right now - will do so a bit later.

Although we did see the tour of Mrs. Doubtfire.

Jason Graae would have been awesome in this show. I haven't enjoyed a show at Gammage this much of a number of years.
