Good morning, friends.

Not much to report.

Since I was, you know, sleeping.

But not for long enough.

The morning was going great until Annabelle spilled a full cup of coffee all over the floor next to my computer table. At the moment, I am still so pisased that I can barely see straight.

Trump was in Pennsylvania making the same promises about getting workers back to work that he made in 2016 and then did nothing. Why do these fools listen to his bilge?

Congratulations to George, the Stourbridge Station Cat.

Tonight is MURDER BY DEATH. It'll be wonderful to see it, but can't I have my personal helicopter transport me instead of my having to drive down there?

I like the Drat! The Cat! poster.
Excellent poster!
-
And Drat! The Cat! has two exclamation points - as if to tie in to National Punctuation Day!

DTC is a great poster!

Interesting development regarding STEREOPHONIC, one of the best-received Broadway plays in quite a few years:

Weird dreams last night. I was working on a transmission of advertising to outer space, which I didn't know at the beginning. It involved repetitive actions that were beginning to feel like slave labor. And indeed, I found out that some coworkers were slaves.

Stevie Nicks has commented about DAISY JONES & THE SIX
"'It brought back memories that made me feel like a ghost watching my own story,' Nicks continued. 'It was very emotional for me. I just wish Christine [another member of Fleetwood Mac] could have seen it. She would have loved it.' Nicks ended her review with a plea for another season. 'Hopefully it will continue,' she said."

I went in to get a prescription at the end of July, and the pharmacist insisted on giving me a flu shot then.
I went in to get a covid shot in September, and the pharmacist insisted on also giving me a hep b shot.
I think they must have a quota or something. The doctor said I didn't need a hep b shot, since I don't handle blood products.
-
The hep b shot made my right arm very sore. I could hardly lift my arm. Covid shots don't affect me any more.

And that sounds like something my MIL would have made. Except she would have used regular Jello.
She'd put anything in Jello. It was her specialty.

There was some question recently as to whether some of us would be able to vote in the upcoming election in Arizona.
Arizona passed some law several years ago that says one must provide proof of citizenship to register.
I registered in 1976 and then reregistered in 1980 when we moved to our house. So I believe I would have been affected.
Luckily, the State Supreme Court ruled that we can all vote.
-
Interestingly, the vast majority of people who would not have been allowed to vote were registered Republicans.

Hi, Michael G!
-
Greetings from the Bedford Playhouse.
-
It’s Banned Books Week. I urge you to read anything this week in response to the threat to our freedom to read. I started a YA novel called Thirteen Reasons Why today. It’s being challenged because it deals with teen suicide snd probably because it deals realistically with teen sexuality.
-
Hello, Bedford Playhouse et al.
-
There was a sci-fi movie called Millennium with Kris Kristofferson and Cheryl Ladd that was quite bad but had a really good robot character.
-
Joe Bova is excellent as the title character in Robo Man with Elliott Gould and Trevor Howard, but he’s more of a guy with a metal skull.
-
The movie was originally called “Who?” but like happened to The Creature Wasn’t Nice with Spaceship and the execrable Naked Space, Robo Man was supposed to make people think of Robo Cop.
-
I think I overdid it at dinner last night. Pork schnitzel, spaetzle, bacony red cabbage, all excellent.
OMG…..how I would love that!
-
I have no news
-
Some say that no news is good news.
-
Watched the new Ellen DeGeneres special on Netflix tonight. I like her.
-
Since I only got about 4 hours of sleep last night, I am going to try going to bed earlier tonight.
-
Although that could mean that I will wake up REALLY early tomorrow.
-
One never knows.
-
I like pizza. I cannot lie.
-
But does pizza like me?
-
I have an old little tablet that is infernally slow.

My iTunes library has been "updating" for about 4 straight days now, and it's still not done.
-
Bother.

-
Good night, friends.
-
And others.
-
I have an old little tablet that is infernally slow.
If pizza is answering back, an antacid tablet could help that.
-
Twyla Tharp was severely underattended. Only 425 in a theater that seats 1,700.
-
But the dancers were good and the crowd was very vocal.
-
I didn't care for the first piece, set to a half-dozen Chuck Berry tunes, but Brel was lovely.
-
Brel featured Jacques Brel singing five songs, including Amsterdam, Marieke and my favorite, If We Only Have Love. BK's version of the latter with Laurie Beechman and her sister is truly gorgeous.
-
The second half was a piece called The Ballet Master. It was fun and beautifully danced.

Not sure if I like the lyrics, but the music has some potential.
-
On Dancing with the Stars, they were dancing to movie music. Hence this bit of nonsense:
Reginald VelJohnson and Emma Slater: Paso doble to “Ode to Joy” by Beethoven from “Die Hard” and “A Clockwork Orange” — Score: 15/30
-
That Beethoven wrote some great film scores, didn’t he?
-
This movie is the first time I can remember having a character with my name. John Griffin isn’t the star, but he’s in a couple of scenes.
-
Good evening.

I just finished a Zoom meeting. I play the drinking game when one particular person says one particular phrase.

Jane, I hope you have a great trip.
Thanks, we had a nice day.
-
Hopefully I recover enough to hike.
-
Good night, all.

The hep b shot made my right arm very sore. I could hardly lift my arm. Covid shots don't affect me any more.
Hep B is a series of 3 shots. Will you get 2 more or pass on them? I believe we got them for our trip to Africa.
-

Oh dear, oh dear - once again, I thought I'd posted already and more than once.
-
Frightening.
-
I know I got up and had a ton of e-mails to get through.
-
And then I must've just gotten involved with writing at the piano - I know I didn't leave until one o'clock.
-
Went to the mail place and picked up a small package.
-
Got a spicy Eyetalian Subway - hadn't had one in months.
-
Came home and ate it - okay, not great.
-
Went right back to writing.
-
Then I dozed off.
-
Finished The Thief of Bagdad but fell asleep again before it ended.
-
This is the page that shall not be named.
-
Here's a funny little story: You know how I'll write about some food or other that I got at Gelson's or a market and then suddenly they're out of those things starting the next day?
-
Well, it's happened with pudding.
-
I kid you not.
-
Completely out of pudding cups and even the tonier pudding things.
-
I feel that soon we will be the most popular site on all the Internet.
-
In tomorrow's notes, perhaps I'll talk about Scotch Tape - then there won't be any for weeks.
-
No George, no jam. Rinse and repeat.
-
Guess I'm carrying this load by myself.
-
Because I WILL get us off this damn page.
-
The page that shall not be named.
-
You know, THAT page.
-
Notes are written and ready to be posted.
-
George must be eating a burrito.
-
Did you know, for example, that burrito spelled backwards is Otirrub?
-
Which is a form of massage, of course.
-
Or as Marshall McLuhan almost once said, "The medium is the message."
-
I finished The Thief of Bagdad - almost.
-
Did you know, for example, that Milton Berle was called The Thief of Bad Gags?
-
I think it was Bob Hope. Let's check
-
Ah, not Bob Hope - Walter Winchell, who was about as funny as a pencil - so I'm guessing some gag writer gave it to him.
-
It's not easy doing an entire page all by my lonesome.
-
It's not easy being green.
-
And still no George.
-
Maybe he's eating a midnight supper with a special friend - meatloaf for two, with mashed potatoes and sautéed squid.
-
With a Nehi Orange Soda.
-
And some Planter's Peanuts.
-
For dessert, cherries flambe.
-
Whatever he's doing, he's not doing it here.
-
Still, ten minutes to go and we're off that damn page.
-
And page eight has made its timely entrance.
-
I like pizza. I cannot lie.
Mmm...pizza. :)
-
Well, here are my new shelves where my 35+ year old cabinets used to be:
-
And the open window on the right now has shelves and kitchen stuff on said shelves, AND cling film that helps to keep people from seeing in the window.
-
I forgot to take a picture when that was finished.
-
Tonight's rehearsal went well.
-
We reviewed act two, and blocked a few more pages that needed blocking, then we just read through part of act three where people are pretty much just either sitting or standing.
-
Tomorrow, there will be some more specific moments that will be blocked, but they just wanted to get through the penultimate scene.
-
Whatever he's doing, he's not doing it here.
I am now.
-
After the rehearsal tonight, I did some more shopping to get ready for my sister's birthday on Friday.
-
Then, I came home and cut a bunch of pills in half because they were twice as much as prescribed.
-
But it was all good.
-
My iTunes library has been "updating" for about 4 straight days now, and it's still not done.

Twyla Tharp was severely underattended. Only 425 in a theater that seats 1,700.
Wow. That's too bad.
-
That's not much less that the number who saw Judy Collins here, but your theater seats 700 more than ours. :-\
-
But the dancers were good and the crowd was very vocal.
That's always the best part...it was a great show and those who attended loved it.
-
Brel featured Jacques Brel singing five songs, including Amsterdam, Marieke and my favorite, If We Only Have Love. BK's version of the latter with Laurie Beechman and her sister is truly gorgeous.
I completely agree! I LOVE that version!
-
George arrived.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
They contain words.
-
Yes, they do.
-
Guess I'll change the topic.
-
Probably time.
-
Is there gaslighting going on?
-
See?
-
Page nine has made its entrance after waiting patiently in the wings.
