Well, you've read the notes, the notes were still and in the night, and now it is time for you to post until the night cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: LUCID!
-
I used to love Lucid Ball and I Love Lucid.
-
And now - Dino at the piano.

Good morning, all!
-
I screwed up this morning and overslept. The problerm? The alarm volume had been turned down to nothing, and I swear I did not touch it. I suspect Annabelle did it as a joke. I'll ask Thatch.
-
I may see Joshie today if he has "Rose's Turn" ready for me.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
And others.
-
Nothing much to report.
-
.
-
A weird assortment today.
-
But it's a weird little day.
-
Loving the photos of DR Jane's trip that have been posted on FB.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I could go for some national corned beef hash right about now.
-
TOD
Safety Last, which I watched last night along with a couple of the extras on it. I'm going to watch again, probably tomorrow, and listen to the commentary. Just studying up to better appreciate the showing on Sunday.
-
Good morning, all.

BK, I like the idea of the site. I just wish in my retirement that I have enough monry to grt what I would want. And I’d likely want everything.
-
Yes, same. :)
-
Finishing the hat vibes for MR BK.
The online shop sounds nice - but it sounds like a lot of work.....and then there are the weirdos you would have to deal with......not everyone is as nice or as smart as the folks on HHW
-
Back and travel vibes for DR JANE.
-
Notes downloaded. Stored.
-
Memorabilia site sounds cool. Would it be part of Kritzerland’s existing site or something completely separate?
-
DR RON PULLIAM sorry about the reunion.....but yes I agree that it will probably be rescheduled.
We are having high winds and rain today as the edge of Helene reaches the Midwest. Winds all day 14-28 mph.
-
Congrats dear Ginny on putting that in the rearview!
-
My eldest niece is in SW Georgia but has left to shelter at her mom’s (my sis) in Tennessee. Hope their house and chickens escape unscathed.

Two!
-
We’ve lost Dame Maggie Smith?
Run if you will to the top of the hill, Bonnie Jean.
-
Tennessee might not even be far enough, apparently, and that’s where my mom is.
-
When I was in high school, I went to London and saw her in Tom Stoppard’s Night and Day. It wasn’t a great play, but she was. Afterwards, about four of us waited for her at the stage door. She came out and regaled us. She said I won a prize for coming the farthest to see her.

Waiting to hear from Joshie. I honestly hope he postpones until tomorrow,

Wow!
-
BK, the online store for the memorabilia sounds like a wonderful idea.
Would the helper who works for Kritzerland be able to do a lot of the help here, too?
-
I saw Dame Maggie Smith the one time I was in London in a play titled Lettice & Lovage.....I don't remember the show much - but I remember her. She was wonderful.
Oh and the tea carts at the interval.
-
Our local homecoming parade & football game tonight have been canceled.
-
Oh Lordy.
I just looked at the website for an unrelated reason, only to notice that my Safety Last showing is not this Sunday, it's the next one.
Whew. A forty-five-minute drive FAIL has been averted. :)

Excellent save!
-
A bit of good news, however:
On Friday the 11th they're "opening" (don't know how long it'll run) Wim Wenders' Paris, Texas which is quite the incredible movie. I just watched it a couple of weeks ago, but no matter - they'll be showing its new 4K restoration, and there's no better theeder to see that in.
-
I just checked, and it IS safe to go to Spitfire Grill tonight as planned. 8)

And this site is having problems again, right now -- it's taken me close to ten minutes to get that last thing posted.

Maggie Smith has died. Very sad news.
I just read that here:

Yes, we were down again for a few minutes. I contacted them as soon as I heard.
-
I basically said this has to stop - if they're being hacked repeatedly, then they need to do something about it.

I'm up, I'm up - seven hours of sleep.

Hopefully, we'll be all right now, although he actually did not respond to my text.

Whew is right! A couple of months ago, I went downtown thinking that I was supposed to usher, but I was actually signed up for the next week! At least, I only had a 15 minute drive fail!

So sad to hear Maggie Smith has made her final exit.
What a magnificent actress.
I was lucky enough to see her perform on Broadway in Lettice and Lovage some 30+ years ago.

RIP Dame Maggie. It's been great to see other people's memories of seeing her on stage. I never had that pleasure but saw her in several movies before the Downton Abbey fame. Now I think I need to watch some more.

He was apparently "Joyboy" in West Side Story! (the film)

I don't know who "Joyboy" is, but...

I'll bet Joyboy danced!

And if a boy is joyful, why wouldn't he dance?

I won't dance.

Don't ask me.

I wonder how the others in that video felt when they made it. Do you think they knew he was drawing focus?

Have we linked Maggie Smith from LETTICE AND LOVAGE, on the Tonys show,

5-minute scene from a year when they showed scenes from the Best Play nominees?

Cool. Thanks for that, DR Freddie.

Maybe it will spark some memories for those that saw it live but can't remember much about it.

And just like that, we're two-thirds of the way through page five.

We made short shrift, as they say.

There's also a video someone just posted on YouTube today
First 18 minutes of LETTICE AND LOVAGE
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=INwO_-fFvq8
I'd forgotten that the play had a bigger cast than the two ladies, though I think those guests on the tour were only in the first scene, so maybe they were only paid as supernumeraries.

What an irritating day this has been. Dealing with more ineptitude from United Health Care - I think everything is sorted out now.
-
Then trying to get an app on my phone from Cedars so I can do a virtual visit to get my referral for the ophthalmologist. There's so many I am not a robot hoops to jump through just to get registered on the app. They send a code via email but you have to verify on the iPhone. Well, it wouldn't update the mail on the iPhone - I got it right away on the computer. I got so annoyed I slammed the phone down on the counter and suddenly all the old e-mails disappeared but it finally had the new one with the code. So, I got registered and then had to call Apple Support.
-
She was kind of clueless, but while I was on hold when she had to consult with a senior tech, I clicked on something at the bottom of the screen and they all came back. However, I could NOT get back the e-mails from two other AOL accounts.
-
So, I had to delete those two mailboxes and then add them. I did, and now it's all working properly.
-
I did finally finish the song - I think it's fine, but I'll see how I feel tomorrow about the final ten lines.
-
It's exhausting dealing with all this crapola.
-
Ready for a new month.

I did finally finish the song - I think it's fine, but I'll see how I feel tomorrow about the final ten lines.

Bobby Banas was an incredible dancer. Clips have been posted on this site in the past.

The cake was fine. I think I just prefer pie.
-
Back to Moulin Rouge.
-
Jose Ferrer is good. The first 20 minutes were excellent. Sets and costumes are fine. I just wish Huston hadn’t given the movie a plot. It would have been nice to see what a Robert Altman could have done with it.
-
I have nothing new to report since the last time I logged in.
-
Hard to believe, I know.
-
I need to do the dishes.
-
And then head to bed.

But I would take a cake.

Or a pie.

I'm not discriminating.

Good night, friends.

And others.

Lucky #200
-
I want to see Magalopolis.
-
There's a showing at noon tomorrow.
-
I haven't been to a movie theater in ages.
-
I listened to Teeth tonight.
-
It is a strange show and a strange cast album.
-
I'm back from Spitfire, and it is a lovely production. Tomorrow night's their closing, and they said I saw a really good one. I love the score and would welcome the chance to do it sometime.
-
Nowhere is there a credits list. No authors, but there is an author's note. No list of director, orchestrator, set designer, nada.
-
The only IDs of the cast are with the photos. No matching of actor's name with character or characters each plays.

-
The show itself is creepy. It is a horror musical after all.
-
It's all about sex and religion, including the angle that the leading lady has vagina dentata, which is why it's horror.
-
That said, the lyrics were pretty darn good. The music works, but it isn't entirely my taste.
-
Starting the film of The Best Man. I can't watch it all tonight.
-
Strange how the politics haven't changed. The conservatives still want to kill Social Security and hate immigration. The liberals still want justice for all
-
Got wrapped up in the movie. Will finish it tonight.
-
George Furth had a fun small role
-
Time for bed.
-
Good night, all.

Finished my viewing.

Now I'm hungry.
-
Did George eat a burrito?
-
I didn't.
-
Not even close.
-
Where the HELL is page nine?
-
George hit and ran.
-
Not very sporting.
-
There must be a page nine around here somewhere.
-
Where is the question.
-
The question is where.
-
George probably has it.
-
Somebody has it.
-
A friend of mine had hip replacement surgery today. I was shocked that it is treated as outpatient, and they're already home and (with a walker) walking up and down their driveway.
Wow! The Miracle of Modern Medicine!
-
Is there gaslighting going on?
-
See?
-
George must be having his midnight snack.
-
He collects rubber duckies, so I sent him a rubber duckie Advent calendar.
That's pretty cool.
-
That must be it.
-
Ah, he's back.
-
At last.
-
Maybe he'll stick around.
-
I'm tired.
-
Really tired.
-
I'll try to get to bed by one.
-
I'll take the usual Melatonin.
-
Meanwhile, back at the ranch.
-
What's that from? Anything?
-
It can be tracked all the way back to a Zane Grey western novel from 1912. Go know.
